We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. One of the best things was the staff — they were very friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help. They kindly upgraded our rooms, which was a lovely surprise. Also, when I needed some documents printed, one of the staff members at reception was very helpful and printed them for me without any problem. The cleanliness of the hotel was excellent, and overall everything was well maintained and comfortable.

The only downside was that there was no telephone in the room, so if we needed something, we had to go down to reception instead of simply calling them from the room.

Nice staff, good location

Creaky beds, confusing power switches, a backed up shower drain that prevented showering, and that no one cared to ask how my stay was when I checked out, but they didn’t hesitate to ask for a good review.

Room had a loft where our daughter and granddaughter slept. The 3 1/2 year old thought it was wonderful. Steep steps, so she had to be supervised going up and down. Also had a small kitchen area with hot plate, toaster, sink, refrigerator and dishwasher. Utensiles are in the cabinets.

Not anything that we didn't like. Bit of a hike to the cruise terminal.

I waited for check in over 8 hours,more than 3pm. The only reason is that hotel’s membership first priority. The customer is from booking. Com is not important.

Loved the bed and duvet. Really comfortable Enjoyed little touches like free fruit in the bar area and availability of complimentary lemon water. We stayed in the loft room which was great with two teenage sons.

Room was spacious and hotel was clean. Facilities were good. Better than last year.

Breakfast! The food was lovely, when we finally got it! Five staff but had to wait for a long time to be served.

The property is very centrally located and easy to access from the airport, we took an uber which cost just over £20, we chose the executive level. We were travelling with a 3 and 7 year old, the room was spacious and catered to all our needs. They really loved the ship themed room with the upper bunk bed which was accessed by a ladder style stairs. The staff here were super friendly and helpful. They answered all our questions and engaged so well with our children. A really lovely bunch of folk.

The lobby waiting are could have been a bit more spacious, but wasn’t a massive issue.

Great hotel, but disappointing experience with one member of staff We had a great stay at Second Nature Hotel in Southampton overall. The hotel has excellent facilities, a great location, and most importantly, the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, our experience on the first two nights was affected by a persistent intermittent noise coming from the ventilation in Room 404, which repeatedly disrupted our sleep. The following day, I reported the issue to a young male member of staff, and we agreed that we would monitor it and see whether the noise returned on the second night. That evening, after returning from going out, we spoke to a young lady at reception named Talia and reminded her about the issue, explaining that we would come back down if the noise started again. Unfortunately, when we returned to our room, the same noise began. I went downstairs and spoke to Talia, who was standing with another member of staff, Brian. I explained that the noise had returned and asked if someone could come up to investigate and, if possible, provide us with an alternative room or another solution. To my surprise, Talia immediately dismissed my concerns, saying that there was nothing she could do and that there were no spare rooms. I felt this was unnecessarily dismissive, particularly as I was simply asking for the issue to be investigated and for possible options to be explored. Thankfully, Brian was much more helpful. He came upstairs with me to inspect the room. By the time he arrived, the noise had stopped, but he kindly explained that if it returned, he would arrange for us to be moved to another room. This was a perfectly reasonable solution and, in my opinion, something that could have been offered when I initially raised the issue with Talia. Unfortunately, shortly after Brian left, the noise returned. This time I recorded it on video and went back downstairs to show Brian.

As stated above. I believe if the named Staff changes her approach to visitors, it would give it 10/10

Location is closed to old town and many good restaurants. Room has everything you need and quiet.

The only thing is that there are two steps at entrance which is inconvenient for luggage and people with walking difficulties.

Room was okay and had the hometel equipment as advertised which was very useful for getting my daughters meals ready, however, the WiFI service in the hotel was really poor, slow and sometimes just not available, which caused a lot of problems for our daughter’s emotional state. I would think this should be a basic service by all hotels but this hometel didn’t have this nailed down. The TV was advertised as smart i.e you could cast your devices and watch your shows but between a WiFi that didn’t work and chrome cast all that didn’t work either, we could not watch TV throughout our 3night stay at the hotel, if this is a big part of entertainment for your family like ours, you might not like this part. We complained about this a few times but it wasn’t resolved Aside the above, we had a good sleep, beds were comfortable and my daughter loved the loft bed.

Taliah recommended an excellent room, really great stay, all staff couldn’t help you enough . Room clean bright , loved our stay and would return the hotel gave off a good atmosphere. We were visiting Ocean village , a few minutes walk, the street behind hotel had pubs & restaurants, very convenient

It was quite noisy. Housekeeping closet next to my room produced many thuds and bangs. Also, child-friendly features involved a lot of kid-noise.

I had a great experience at this hotel. The staff were friendly, approachable and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean and comfortable. I would 100% recommend staying here. We had 2 adults 1 child and a toddler and felt comfortable and at ease. The food was lovely too and allergy friendly with options.

Great location near the port! The rooms were wonderful and came equipped with a small kitchen and AC! I appreciate that all the rooms had accessibility features. Good breakfast! Highly recommend!

We stayed here the night before our cruise from Southampton and couldn’t have chosen a better place. We originally booked when it was called room2, and although it’s now known as Second Nature, the excellent service certainly hasn’t changed. The staff were all friendly, welcoming, and worked incredibly hard. It was impressive to see the same team covering both reception and the bar, yet they remained cheerful, professional, and happy to help throughout our stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The location is perfect for anyone cruising from Southampton, with the cruise terminal only about a 5-minute taxi ride away, costing around £7.50. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and friendly hotel before a cruise.

A comfortable hotel. The breakfast was quite expensive, but tasty. I was disappointed that I wasn't provided with an invoice when i checked out, which meant I had to spend time emailing them.

Good central location to town ,and we're able to accommodate us at very short notice for a 4 day stay.

The room was bright and cheerful if not a bit basic. Clean though. Some furniture showing signs of wear and could be replaced (Small Table) Clothes washing machine available at a cost. I found this disappointing.

Can't honestly recommend this hotel enough. Staff are amazing, especially Talia n Justine. So friendly n helpful. Cant do enough! Rooms are so funky n spacious. Everything you need n more. Will defo stay again. 10/10! Highly recommend

Great hotel, far exceeded expectations. Very friendly check I'm from Ronald. Room was a really good size, with a mezzanine bed for our child. Clean, great AC, lots of thoughtful touches and fab shower. Breakfast was included for us - good selection on the menu and great service from Reece (Rhys? Didn't check spelling of his name - sorry!), who was also brilliant with our son. We'd definitely stay here again.

Fantastic service. We were warmly greeted by Fernando, who was incredibly helpful as were all staff - they went above and beyond. Rooms were lovely, clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable.

Very central location, with most friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean and facilities good. The room was quiet and bright. The lifts were rapid with little waiting time. The lounge area was comfortable pleasant. The parking was convenient.

The choice of food in the lounge area was very limited, and service fairly slow.

Loved the location, price was good, room was large and clean. Enjoyed the bar/cafe and the park across the street. Also close walking distance to Oxford Street. Would stay here again.

Our stay at Second Natuee (formerly Room2) was absolutely exceptional, largely thanks to Justine. From the moment we arrived, her attention to detail was evident in every interaction, nothing felt like a scripted routine, it was warm, genuine care from start to finish. She anticipated needs before we even had to ask and made the entire stay feel personal rather than transactional. The establishment itself matches that same level of thoughtfulness in its design and service. If you're looking for a place where the staff genuinely make the experience, ask for Justine, she is unmatched.

We stopped by, as we were walking home & thought that’s a nice looking bar. The bar staff were chatty & very friendly, we enjoyed our decaf espresso martinis so much we revisited the following evening. We’re also looking in the future maybe staying in one of there rooms. One of the best hotels I have stayed in for business anywhere in the UK. The rooms were spotlessly clean, modern, well furnished. There are plugs by the bed and great AC in this hot weather. The shower had a good pressure. The staff were very polite and the breakfast was perfectly cooked. I honestly could not find a fault anywhere. Great experience and I will come back to here and/or this chain. The price was reasonable also.

We stayed here during our 2 day trip to Paultons Park/peppa pig world on June 17th. The manager (Justine, sorry if I’m incorrect) and her team could not of been more welcoming, from the moment we arrived with parking. Beautiful large room, with everything we could need (even the cot was all made for our little one) so helpful with restaurant advice and such an amazing cooked and very tasty breakfast! The manager and her team were so personable, helpful and great with our little ones. Thank you so much.

The staff, in particular Nicola, were all just superb. Love the whole look and vibe if the hotel!

Room 2 is the best cafe in Southampton to study. I have checked pretty much every other cafe in the last 3 years but I keep coming back here. The environment is amazing! And the team too. Shout out to Fernando who is always a good chat and always very helpful. The coffee here is also amazing!

We had a wonderful stay at Room2 following a Cunard cruise. What stood out was the amazing service and kindness of staff. Room was very cute, impeccably clean, had all the amenities we needed and the restaurant was also great for breakfast.

Location was great, our music venue was just round the corner, with bars and restaurants easily walkable

I was put out by the need to take a deposit outside of the payment of the room. Felt like a car rental company and made me anxious about what 'issue' I'd be landed with on our exit.

Served by Nicola at the restaurant for breakfast, she was very helpful and served with a smile. My kids have special dietary requirements she was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. Fodd was great as well.

The bunk bed tucked up high was such a cute feature, and my daughter loved having her own private little space. The location was excellent, within walking distance of several restaurants and the mall. The staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and accommodating throughout our stay. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay before a cruise.

This place is a hidden gem. The accommodations were excellent. We were a family of 4, had plenty of room, great view, stocked kitchen, and fabulous shower. Fernando checked us in and he was fabulous. On top of being friendly, personable he made the best espresso martini.

Room2 on Queen's Terrace is the place to stay in Southampton. It is located near a park in a quiet area of the city. From the hostess, Nikola, who helped with restuarant recommendations and transportation to the cruise port, to the bartenders, Reece and Fernando, who serve up the best drinks, to the manager, Justine, who goes out of her way to make sure your needs are taken care of. They all made our group feel so welcomed. The atmosphere and vibe of the hotel is very relaxed. The rooms are meticulously clean and have so many amenities. The bed was very comfortable, great night's sleep! This hotel is what hospitality is all about. It's so nice to see hotels like this still exist, but it all comes down to the people that work here that make that happen, and they do an awesome job and it shows! It is worth every dollar/pound/euro!

Really delightful- breakfast was delicious and appreciated that it was located in a quieter part of the city centre. The rooms & amenities were fabulous as well.

We chose this hotel for our pre-cruise stay and so happy we did! Prior to check in the communication was excellent, and the staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful! The room is very large – you could actually do an extended stay and be very comfortable. It’s like a little apartment - with a stove and dishwasher and fridge. A great size room with a comfortable couch, a very comfortable bed and a lovely bath. The location was perfect for a short taxi ride to the port. Check in and check out was super easy. We had breakfast in the café. It was fresh and delicious and the staff was very attentive. We would definitely stay there again should we have the occasion to visit Southampton!

Location and friendly staff

We stayed in room 105 for two nights on twin beds. One of the mattress sunk in. I requested the mattress to be changed. After we came back from sightseeing the beds were made. But when I wanted to retire at night,then realised nothing was done. This mattress made my back hurt and sore.

Deliberately simple and homey with friendly and efficient service and excellent basics: great bed, very good shower, good breakfast, quiet location beside a nice park.

Limited restaurant

We appreciated that the room was clean and that the bedding and beds were comfortable. The breakfast was good value.

My husband was working remotely and the internet was problematic. The hotel has wifi boosters instead of mesh routers. Simply, that means that rooms away from the lobby have bad wifi. This issue should be addressed as this is the only hotel that we have had this problem during our travels in the UK.

I booked 4 loft lounge rooms for a hen party. All rooms were clean and well stocked, the staff were attentive and polite. Breakfast was so good, delicious, hot and fast service. We had the best stay!

I've stayed at this hotel before and it's always a great experience. The rooms are comfortable, the bed is good, the space is nice and modern. I was checked in by Fernando, a lovely host whom helped with some additional local tips!

My partner and I stayed for 1 night to celebrate his 30th. The hotel is immaculate and staff were so helpful and friendly prior to booking and throughout our stay. The room was incredible and we would like to say a massive thank you to general manager Nick for celebratory bubbles, and Trixie for decorating the room with balloons. Although our stay was short, we loved it and would definitely stay again - for longer next time! Thank you so much again ☺️
