Staff and hotel fab. Meal was good and hot.

Showers not walk in was problem for both myself and my father who wasn't able to get a shower.

Kamer was op zich ruim genoeg. Badkamer was prima. Ontbijt was redelijk. Centrum op een kwartiertje lopen.

Hotel ligt aan een drukke doorgaande weg en vanwege het geluid kan je geen raam openzetten. Hierdoor werd het een benauwd hok want er is geen luchtcirculatie of airconditioning. Bed was erg klein voor twee personen.

Everything really. Large spacious car park which I didn't expect. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely clean spacious rooms and great food. We had a great evening meal and really good tasty breakfast. Would definitely stay again. This should be a four star at least. Thank you Rich

Beautiful suite with a separate lounge and bedroom. All newly decorated. The breakfast was good too with lots of options.

Beds were very uncomfortable. False Fire Alarms kept waking me up...a faulty system apparently. Shower was awful.... randomly either boiling hot or freezing cold with next to no flow/pressure. I left the hotel feeling unclean and tired....so a big fail.

The room was lovely, but cold , there was a jacuzzi bath but it didn’t work. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfast was lovely.

Location was great, room was clean, had everything you wanted , fan in the wardrobe was a plus.

Fire alarm kept going off through the night and woke us up just before 7am not a good night's sleep at all

Walls were thin onto corridor. Fire doors released so banged. There were 3 fire alarms caused by steam from showers. Had to seek out information rather than be told. Very noisy guests checked in at 2am.

Good off-road car parking, easily accessible from the motorway (we were staying overnight en route further north). The restaurant was open until 9pm so we were able to eat there. Staff were friendly and helpful

The bedroom was a bit tired but that said we slept well, the bed comfortable and everywhere was clean

I booked 4 rooms at the hotel and on arrival it was the bar staff that checked you in which just means you have to wait on a busy Saturday night. All rooms were unnecessary hot even for Californians .

Breakfast was good but we had an early leave to get to Edinburgh si had to wait till 8 am. But the worst thing was all rooms had no hot water for a shower . I mentioned this but reception just shrugged it off saying maintenance doesn’t work on a Sunday not a lot we can do have a nice day . Well it wasn’t .

There was not much not to like

Breakfast was lovely and varied. Pleasant, helpful staff. Liked the supply of toiletry essentials and canned stilled water along with tea/ coffee/ biscuits.

Lamb shank was fatty and carrots very firm at dinner. Room was a standard small double looking over roof maintenance repairs. I understand this is unavoidable. Bedside lamps glass and would be easy to catch or break. As this is a central city location there are no pretty views but they have tried to compensate with an outside patio seating area.

You can tell the hotel is a bit tired/dated and although the entrance makes it look great, the room itself was needing tlc. The bed was old, springs twanged when you rolled over and wasn’t comfortable. Shame as hotel has huge potential to be really good.

Good central location with parking. Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal was decent - breakfast was excellent with great choice including lots of fresh fruit, pastries, cold meats and cheeses and good quality hot buffet with additional special items cooked to order for a small additional fee.

Seemed a bit understaffed. Room fairly small and, at the time of our visit, emergency building work being carried out right outside our window.

Nice hotel. It was a pleasure to stay there. We couldn’t make it for the breakfast so staff offered us some packed sandwiches instead. Very nice of them. Additionally there is nice pub just on the other side of the street.

Room at the street side of the hotel was noisy due to traffic. Room was smaller then expected.

Absolutely cracking breakfast - fresh, tasty and an amazing range of options, including veggie. Excellent, responsive, friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Shower pressure poor.

The location was great. The room was spacious and comfortable. The soaker tub was a bonus we stayed in the Rickerby suite. I highly recommend recommended the chocolates and sparkling water and crisps left on our arrival was an appreciated touch. The staff were friendly and helpful. Noble Joseph gave great service as did the ladies serving the breakfast. The buffet breakfast offered lots of delicious options.

Usually book Premier Inn, but glad I booked Cumbria Park. The room (3) wasnt huge but very comfy. Clean & had a cosy bed. Nice toiletries in the ensuite. Nice little touches. We ate in their restaurant, which was quite busy (a good sign). The chefs are amazing and the food really tasted 'homemade with extra care' rather than Premier Inn food. The young man in charge of the restaurant was run ragged! He was so helpful to everyone and people remarked how hard he was working - a credit to the hotel. Plenty of free parking too.

Needed more staff in the restaurant/bar area. Not fair to have just one (excellent) employee trying to look after everyone! Hard to use the mirror in the bedroom. The chair cant quite pull out to sit on (no room to pull it out because of the bed). If you do perch on the chair you cant look into the mirror (only the TV!). Room layout must have been designed by a man 😉 . Some traffic noise despite double glazing. Would ask for a room at the back next time

Lovely room and fabulous new bathroom. Great and friendly staff who care you have everything you need. The most fabulous napkin folding for breakfast - best I've ever seen, with beautiful linen. Good bedlinen and great white towels - all high quality.

The tv bracket in our bedroom was a little wobbly and the bathroom handbasin hot tap took ages to get hot water. The shower was fine.

Excellent location & beautiful hotel. The staff were very friendly & welcoming (Amanda and Sharon were just lovely). We had an amazing evening meal and lovely breakfast! Great to have parking space so near the City and we walked 5 minutes to a beautiful park / walk around the River Eden.

We have stayed here 4 times now in both a family room and a twin room both of them was excellent the breakfast is out of this world and as much as you like .

It is an old hotel with a warren of rooms, no lift and, even though I asked for a walk in shower was given a room with a bath and shower over. Asked for double and was given twin. TV didn't work but the manager fixed it so all well in the end

The Standard at the hotel has dropped I had a nice room but the shower heads all need replacing they are very poor showers and baths are very dated mine was a small bathroom the quality of breakfast has also fallen short of the mark Scrambled eggs something you getting McDonald's poor quality fruit I booked rooms for myself and friends but I don't think we will go back

The most unhelpful person I’ve ever encountered was on the check in desk named Natalie/Natalya. Room had a strong smell of cigarette smoke.

The room was shocking carpets very dirty and the bathroom is very mouldy and the furniture was like it.had been hand made in a.very bad way To sign a document to say about any damage was a understatement for the condition of the room .

Stopped here a couple of years ago and enjoyed our stay, which is why we booked again. The ivy is in desperate need of cutting back and new flags need sorting. Only one window in our room would open and only slightly because of the ivy, also was worried about all the creepy crawlies coming in ! Don't think I'd stay here again until the front is sorted.

Their dining restaurant was closed during the two days we were there. Very tatty Union flag flying above the place. Bathrooms not equipped with shaver points.
