Near the railwaystation and city centre. Bed was good, so was the breakfest. Room was quiet. Everything was fine.

It was away from the hustle and bustle of York Center and the crowds. Downside is the 1/2 walk to and from the hotel. Since we like walking, it wasn’t a huge problem for us.

The property is nice, but the up and down side of its location is there is nothing nearby to do/see. A couple of small restaurants but not more.

Room carpet wasn't clean... a previous occupant had dropped a sticky label on the carpet & then it had been shredded into the carpet..so it looked like a snowstorm & was sticky underfoot right next to the bed :( Booked a twin room but the room had 4 single beds not 2, which was a bit weird!!

The quality of the room and friendly staff were excellent. The location is a little outside from the centre but a small walk up (10 mins) and you’re in the centre

Parking. The parking spaces are very narrow. And overall very tight. Not great but managed to find a space. Breakfast could have been a bit better. Should have at least fried or poached eggs. Scrambled eggs are not my favourite and as a veggie this would have been my option.

All the staff were helpful & engaging from reception to breakfast crew. The breakfast choice was great & was regularly refreshed / topped up. Bedroom was funky & the bed very comfortable. We were able to get a nightcap both evenings so that was a pleasant finish to the day - often Hotel bars close too early (9.30pm experienced elsewhere) is too early! Good location for walking into York, getting to the Railway Station / Railway museum.

The bedroom space to get past the bed was just a bit tight to get luggage past. The car park was really tight to manoeuvre & the actual parking spaces were too tight. I had to climb into my car via the passenger door side & I'm really not as flexible at 65 as I was at 35! Nothing untoward with how the adjacent car was parked, just the spaces are very small!

Terrible smell from downstairs toilets as you go through to the lifts. Very limited and expensive parking

The hotel is only ten minutes walk from the middle of York so perfect if you don't want to drive. The staff are friendly, especially the restaurant staff who made sure my breakfast was really excellent.

I found the room to be a little dark but as I was only using it at night it didn't matter.

Very good experience. The room is new, clean and very comfortable. They did a great job at renovating the building and keeping Ibis level. Location wise, it is very close to the old city and to the train station - extremely convenient.

Despite serving an excellent breakfast, I found it a bit overpriced.

I did struggle with the shower control, but sorted in the end. The on/off switch is the spray power switch also. I didn't realise I had to turn for more power. Somebody left on weak spray so I thought that was it! LOL

We had walk up stairs to get to our room after taking the very small elevator. (It could hold two people with their luggage). It was noisy because everyone’s doors slammed shut. There was no place to hang towels other than one hook. Not enough space to hang clothes. The smoke alarm was blinking which was annoying. The sink was tiny. The bathroom opened up facing the beds with the toilet was facing the beds. Our room would have been ok for one person but not two.

Great location, no more than a 10 minute walk from the train station. Situated just outside the city walls, so a 15 minute walk into the heart of York. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. We were able to check in early and then leave our bags in storage (for a small, optional, donation to charity) after we checked out, so we could easily wander round the city.

Nice size family room on ground floor, we had a double and single in it. Good size shower. 2nd night as we went to sleep there was a large crowd outside our windows, seemed as if they were students waiting for lifts, the night reception went out and asked them to move away. It left us having a very restless night though as everything seemed to be loud within the room. Great breakfast and good check in and check out times. 20 min walk into town and about 10min walk to the station. Valentinos Italian across the road is delicious food as well as the Windmill pub a little further down.

Spotlessly clean, stylish and welcoming, with a beautiful room and a bed that honestly felt like sleeping on a cloud! ☁️😴 Great location, not far from the city centre and perfect for exploring York. And the complimentary Yorkshire Tea was a brilliant touch — because in Yorkshire, a brew isn’t just a drink, it’s practically a love language! 😂☕️ The only downside was that there’s no food or room service, but that wouldn’t stop me recommending it. I’d definitely be happy to stay here again — such a comfortable and relaxing stay. ❤️

Friendly staff, room was available when we arrived early than the check in time, room was clean good breakfast served until 11am on the Sunday and 10am on the Monday.

Our room facing the main road and you can hear everything outside, maybe they need to install noise reduction on the windows double or triple glazed.

We had a beautiful big room, clean with a comfortable bed. It had a great range for breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. Walkable location into the city.

The parking was very limited, we were very lucky that someone was leaving when we turned up. We had to wait 15 minutes to get a seat for breakfast

It was near the station and buses, as we travelled there by train. Parking seemed expensive and that is why we went by train.

The toilet seat in the en suite kept slipping sideways. Also the toilet roll holder was squeezed between the toilet and wall.

Good hotel in a nice location. Beautiful decor, very well thought out and designed. Great location for the station and near the hopn on hop off bus stop..large park around 10 minutes away. The staff were friendly throughout, not just at reception but throughout the hotel. Room a decent size. Self serve breakfast buffet was good with enough options. Bar open till after midnight on weekends. Overall I liked the hotel and would stay again.

The fixtures in the shower holding the shower hel and shampoo needed to be cleaned. There was a lot of soap scum and gunk from previous guests. Soap in bathroom should have been refilled prior to check in. Room also could have done with a good hoover, not just the floors but the bed base as well. Due to its colour you can see any settled dust but overall it was clean enough to stay in.

Excellent value for money, the room was very clean and well equipped. Breakfast was lovely. Staff were really helpful. Couldn't fault anything really. Easy to walk into Central York about 15 mins, but taxis easily available if you don’t want to walk. Lovely little basic bar in the hotel. No food available in the hotel other than breakfast, but the staff were more than happy for you to order a takeaway and sit in the bar if you wanted. We didn't though as we had organised a restaurant for each night in the centre. Great little hotel, would stay again.

Nothing really, but if being really fussy, there wasn’t bottled water available to buy in the bar, they did however sell water in cans but they were difficult use. That was it!

We arrived early and were allowed access to the room which was great .The room was clean as were the reception and corridors. The parking was great right at the back of hotel.

There was nothing I didnt like . But we didnt use the bar or restaurant as we were only there for less than 24 hours

Location of the Ibis is excellent. Rooms were clean and a decent size with a very comfortable bed.

Very limited parking at the hotel and even then I would only attempt to park there if I had a small car. Alternatively, we managed to park in a nearby public car park for 24 hours but again, spaces there are at a premium. We struck lucky getting a space.

The room was fairly small and dimly lit. Would have been nice if drinking glasses had been in the room, had to drink out of the coffee mugs. I didn't realise that there wasn't a restaurant in the hotel (my fault for not reading the full description). Would have liked a choice of how the eggs were cooked for breakfast (scrambled being the only choice).

The check-in was friendly, the room was small but very well equipped with a great shower and it represents excellent value for money with easy walking into the centre and very convenient for the station. Breakfast was fine.

We purposely chose this property for its location but also for the EV chargers! However! The hotel allows non electric vehicles to use these spaces and prevent anyone from using them to charge! We asked the receptionist about this and got a pointless answer.

First time staying in this hotel. Very close to train station, 10 min easy walk into city centre. Friendly welcome on arrival, no goodbye on leaving, even though member of staff was at reception, a simple goodbye & hope you had a nice trip, is all that is needed. Room compact & dimly lit, but clean & pleasantly decorated. Has everything you need, wifi included. Beds large and very comfortable, perfect temperature in room, which is a rarity, had a great night's sleep! Breakfast room/bar very nice looking, although we didn't use it. There is a Wetherspoons on the same street which is good value for breakfast! Couple of hidden charges to be aware of, £2 added to breakfast if not pre booked day before, and £1 donation to a charity added to room bill, which we didn't mind, but hotel should be more transparent about it. After you have paid, there is a poster in the lift telling you about it. All in all, would stay here again dependant on price, we come to York annually & have stayed in many different areas of the city.

Please get some firm pillows, they are too soft, squish into nothing. No substance to them, made my neck hurt, tried 2 wasn't any better. Extremely noisy neighbours, kids screaming until 11pm, banging on the doors and slamming them. Not the fault of the hotel, just inconsiderate guests.

Old building meant the floors were a bit sloped and therefore the bed was too. Smell of drains in the bathroom at times.
