The hotel is always clean and pleasant. The rooms are lovely.

I was disgusted to be charged £7 per night to park the car. This was a new charge for no discernible reason other than fleecing the customer.

my card was supposed to be charged upon reservation as booked this for my colleagues, but they have been asked to pay upon arrival but they had no company credit card. Its so unprofessional from Booking .com and the hotel not notifying beforehand and have such a suppressed......

The receptionist Jaz was very helpful . He is a very professional person. The room was very clean, housekeeping came in daily for the three days we were there.

The parking was advertised a free on booking .com however when we arrived we were told it had changed in July and now was charged per night. lucky for us Jaz waived these charges as they had asked us to change rooms . We were given room 101 the disadvantage of this room is the doors from the reception are constantly in use and the doors bang shut. I did suggest to reception that they put a silent closer on the doors.

As a long-standing IHG member, this stay at Holiday Inn Wigston was thoroughly disappointing from start to finish. ​Price Matching Denied: When calling ahead to ask about price matching, I was flatly told the hotel does not offer it—a first for me across many years with IHG, and directly contradicting their usual brand policies. ​Blue Badge Parking Charges: Charging guests with a Blue Badge for hotel parking is absurd, insensitive, and completely unnecessary. ​Incorrect Breakfast Hours: At check-in, the receptionist handed us breakfast vouchers and explicitly stated that Saturday breakfast opened at 6:30 AM. We got ready early, only to discover it actually started at 7:30 AM. Because I had to leave for work, we were completely unable to use the vouchers we were given. ​Misleading information, unfair policies, and poor communication made for a dreadful overall experience. I expected far better standards from an IHG property.

Accessable bathroom was not accessible. Very akward turn into the bathroom, once in the doorway my knees were up against the wc. I could not turn either left or right. Tryimg to reverse out was very difficult and frustrating. We had booked for 3 nights to attend my grandsons wedding but had to leave after 1 night as i had sat all day in tempertures of 36 degrees and then being unable to shower was deadful. Plus having to use the toilet in the bar (which was a very long way ftom pur room through 4 fire doors, which as a powerchair user i cannot open) was really just a joke! We were very disapointed with Holiday Inn.

Bed very firm and pillows hard. Although bed remade the next day, room didn't appear to have been cleaned, crumbs left on the side, cups weren't replaced just rinsed out and tea stains left in the sink. Bit cheeky charging £7.00 per day for parking if staying there.

The staff are nice. We had dinner there the waiter called Hayden was friendly he went out of his way my husband wanted to have steak even though it was not on the menu he got that made.

The staff were super friendly. Upon arrival, it was very easy to check in. The room was immaculate. Breakfast was awesome. I requested a ground floor room which was accomodated without any fuss.

I had planned to have an evening meal but was disappointed to find the restaurant was closed at 20.30pm. I couldn't drive anywhere as I'd had a couple of wines so had to walk and find food. All I could find was a meal deal in a supermarket. I didn't want that so went back. Bed on a hungry belly 🙃

As a wheelchair user it’s difficult to open doors, I know it’s an added expense but a push button to open the door would be helpful, this is in context of general access to and around the venue, doors into the building, corridors doors etc, it’s a real struggle to be holding a bags and drive an electric wheelchair

Staff weren’t very friendly, when checking in the lady wasn’t very welcoming, didn’t ask us if we wanted to book breakfast or if we needed anything else. Compared to when I stayed here before the service levels have dropped a lot. I had pre contacted the hotel to let them know we are celebrating our anniversary, I had a response to say something will be left in the room for us as a special touch, when we arrived there was nothing. The room was very small, no space to walk once there are two beds in the room! We were attending an event and the air conditioning in the function room wasn’t working, on an extremely hot day this was very uncomfortable for all guests attending.

The staff were very friendly and professional. The bedroom was very clean and had everything one could need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was adequate.

The coffee machine at breakfast produced awful, almost undrinkable coffee, and there were bits on the bar lounge carpet.

Hotel is a little shabby. Breakfast is not worth the price in my opinion. School cafeteria vibes. Some rooms are a really long walk away from reception.

Not complaining and I image not the only place with this issue, being one of the hottest days the AC was on full in the bar area that we were cold, turned down a little would help. A small bit of wear and tear but perfectly fine and understandable

When I booked for a family of 3 and a pet dog, I thought the charge included everything. But at check in I was SHOCKED to hear we had to pay £20 each night for our pet dog. This is equivalent to dog care back at home town. This was NOT informed at time of booking and I had to pay £40!! Also The room was smaller than expected !

Main reasons for choosing this hotel were the free on site parking (big car park) and air conditioning in room (we were in the middle of a heatwave and several other hotels did not have a/c). Room was a good size, very comfortable and clean. Excellent shower. Staff were all friendly. Good bar & restaurant. Food menu had lots of choices and portions were generous. Prices felt a little expensive but that might just be me living in the past as i don't eat out a lot. Room price was very reasonable though, giving excellent overall value for money.

Small things in the room weren’t very clean, a lot of marks on the chair, shower wasn’t cleaned thoroughly & marks left on tea cups. The tv wasn’t connecting to anything either so had limited access even when asked staff. Also took about 10 mins for staff to appear for check in which wasn’t the best after travelling but nothing to really complain about.

This is the second time we are staying at this hotel and both times, our room didn’t have a functioning television. The first time, we didn’t have the ability to watch anything or hear anything as it just didn’t turn on. We finally managed to get someone to look at it and they just pressed the on off switch and then dismissed it. The second visit, we thought we’d give the hotel the benefit of doubt and returned again, to find that this time, the television had sound but no picture. We came with a view to watch the World Cup whilst travelling but this came to an immediate stand still when there was no television functioning. After spending ten minutes trying to ring reception and then having to ring the central reservation team to get reception connected to us, we managed to get someone to check our television. Again, a few buttons were pressed and switched off/on with no resolution. We were allocated a new room at 11.30pm with a tv that was pixelated and offered free breakfast. When going down for breakfast after a late night of room switching and having to settle back in, we were not told that it is only served until 9am so we went down at 9.10am and there was nothing to be found. We were offered a plate of two hash browns, a splash of beans, runny mushrooms and two half cooked fried eggs, of which all were probably just the left overs that hadn’t been thrown out yet. We asked for a cup of tea and the machines were all turned off and then to add insult to injury, the room that we were asked to sit in was very loud with a meeting / conference so we couldn’t even have our cold breakfast in peace. One man in particular was very rude, loud and obnoxiously speaking to the person opposite him and even she mentioned that she was not deaf and he didn’t need to raise his voice.

Comfortable spacious rooms. 24 hour check in was very convenient,as we were arriving from New Zealand and our flight from Singapore to Heathrow was majorly delayed. We were able to check in after midnight.

It was clean and had most of the amenities i wanted. Props to justina the person who had cleaned my room, did a fantastic job. And the blond woman at the breakfast buffet who was very sweet and professional about showing how it all worked.

There were notes about it saying if you forget this and that, you can get thrm from the reception but apparently they only had a toothbrush and paste which was a shame. Also I think breakfast should be a little longer coz I was rushing to do a bunch of things in the morning, just to be able to eat on time
