The location and the staff did their best.

I had booked the 3 bedroom apartment (which looked very nice from the outside) but it was unavailable so we were put in a very cramped 2 bedroom unit with a 2 Queen beds in an open loft. So cramped there was no room to put your bags in the bedrooms. The whole complex is very run down and needs a complete renovation.

5 night stay . On 3rd night I wanted clean sheets, took bedding off the bed into a pile, these same sheets were tossed back on the bed and bed was not made. Bathroom not cleaned in the 5 days, left no towels one day and no soap replaced , garbage not taken out . Very poor experience especially considering my sister and I paid $1400. For the 5 nights . But we won’t be back. Austin at the desk was very helpful .. thank god for him is all I can say. Yvonne Bennett

The breakfast was very good. The beds were good.

Gouges in the wall, holes in the sheer curtains, air conditioner didn’t work, plumbing for the shower needed to be fixed , the sliding door even for my husband was very hard to open, the carpet in the hallway, I would not walk on it in bare feet.. Room 316. They said an ocean view, if you were sitting in your room looking out,it was very hard to see anything over the wooden railing, if you stood up, okay.

Staff on arrival was very friendly and helpful. Although outdated the grounds looked pleasant and tidy.

Place was very run down, the room was not as clean as expected I found garbage on the floor and hair in the bathroom and tub. The room walls had holes and just generally needed repairs to bring it up to a hotel room standard. The price was outrageous compared to the room standard.

Room was comfortable but one of the bed had a dog smell.

Just little Old and Moldy at some places.

Great place to stay but the price is a bit much. As all hotels are in the summer months.

Alot of the plugs didn't work Room did not have a kitchenette which was pictured on website as the room i paid for. So I was not happy because we had a budget and we had to go out to eat and pay extra. Also I forgot my cpap machine in room at check out and went back and they brought down to lobby but we also had a open case of beer but of course that didn't get brought down to lobby

Breakfast was good and so were the amenities (pool, BBQ, covered area for cooking outside).

The room is old and looked like it could use a deep clean! I found a used coffee filter in the coffee maker and another guest's toy under the bed.

I was using a Walker (recovering from a broken leg) and had requested a room on the ground floor with the other family members were. I was given a room on the 3rd floor with stairs which were VERY difficult for me No elevators. Then the other we were.given had ANOTHER 14 steps to the bed. I slept on the sofa and my husband slept in the bed. We were coming to Campbell River because my brother was in the hospital and we were not sure he would make it. We did not need the extra stress of our very unsuitable hotel. Plus’s your rates were $100 more than the Grand Hotel we stayed in Nanaimo - which was far superior to your hotel -an elevator and newer facilities. Needless to say we would not recommend your hotel to anyone.

Staff were outstanding. The man at reception is from Birmingham England, and with us being from Liverpool, we had a lot in common. The breakfast was easy and tasty. Nothing to blow your socks off, but does enough. Room was clean and beds were comfortable. Price was a touch high for the dated hotel, but it is height of summer. Restaurant next door is lovely and they have a great selection of drinks. Overall, great stay. Particular shout to the staff 👊✅️

The customer service was exceptional but the hotel itself needs an urgent upgrade- carpets was old and dirty, paint peeling, curtain and hanger old , infact ancient. AC old, not working. The whole environment was old, drab and depressing. Freezer in freezer was notworking well, iced and fridge not cooling

The included hot breakfast is always simple and nice, I find the eggs taste better (taste real) with a nice scrambled texture than most other hotels that include a continental breakfast. The waffle makers are always a hit with the kids and the bacon was delicious. I have not tasted good hotel coffee since I tend to enjoy dark roasted darkly brewed coffee or espresso but it was acceptable and actually better than what we found later at a coffee shop. We always love swimming in the pool, and ruminating on what is going on in the beautiful and unique mural they have on the wall in the pool house. The pool water quality felt clean and well balanced with no harsh asthma inducing chlorine smell and I didn't feel like my skin was shrinkwrapped on after a swim. Our suit was on the top floor (3rd floor) and had a cute loft for the beds (kids loved this) and a lovely view out to the ocean that we enjoyed taking in, especially the colourful sunrise and sunsets and looking down on the well established garden of flowering shrubs and perennials. The constant breeze from the ocean kept the room feeling and smelling fresh and the temperature pleasant when we opened the balcony door and back windows in the morning and late afternoon. We always do a "bed check" first thing whatever hotel/motel we stay in and the beds here have always been very clean with sweet smelling white linens and fluffy duvets and pillows. We appreciate the protective covers on the mattress and box spring as a safety measure and feel comfortable with the cleanliness which is obvious even with the finishing and fixtures being older (built in 1970, renoed in 2017) The front staff, kitchen staff and housekeeping have always been friendly and helpful.

We did not have a functioning kettle or coffee maker in our suite which was a teeny bit annoying but also easy to just go get coffee or tea in the breakfast room. A couple of the outlets also did not function and one had a cracked frame, there were still plenty of outlets to use though so only a minor inconvenience for fan placement. The fans were a necessary and welcome appliance as no AC. Keeping the curtains well closed from mid/late morning to later afternoon is a must for temperature control in summer. This was easy as we had a day of exploring and what not to do after breakfast and took off before the heat went up and the suit was a reasonable temperature to return to later.

Stains on the couch and chair in my room. No housekeeping after the first night and didnt get a restock of coffee and Splenda. The bed is sunk in and kept rolling back to one spot. Sounded like fireworks late friday night. Not the hotels fault but it was a rude awakening

Great location. Nice staff. We had a queen bed suite with a loft bedroom. Beds were comfy. Downstairs had a comfortable couch. On request, were given a microwave ( we thought we had a small kitchenette unit....our mistake). Breakfast was decent....self-serve ....scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, waffles, cereal, toast, coffee, & juice. Pet friendly (extra charge....which was fine and expected).

Sadly, the place is very run-down....main areas and the rooms. Carpets throughout shappy and need replacing, fresh paint on walls needed. Our patio door to balcony could barely be opened. Exercise area filled with old mattresses so not available. Rooms were clean but only cleaned every third day (unless requested). No security at night and buildings open....sadly, found an unhoused person asleep at our front door (staff were responsive in handling the situation). Given the cost of our stay, not sure if we would stay again.

Alert Bed Bugs!!! The rooms were dated, and the balcony sliding door was difficult to open, but the worst thing is that there are bed bugs!!! I have several (10) inflamed and uncomfortable bites on each arm and also (5-6) bed big bites on one leg. Sooooo itchy and inflamed, and now we need to wash everything including our luggage so we don’t bring them into our own home!!

Mini fridge worked well. Standard breakfast. Staff I met were pleasant.

Overall place needs an overhaul. It feels like Ramada bought a second hand hotel (likely for the land) and never bothered to upgrade it. They slapped their logo and price on it instead. I've never stayed at a Ramada in such poor condition (& at Ramada prices). When we first walked in and there was an odour - so we opened the windows immediately. The carpets appeares to be from the 70's. The couch looked like a "dump" couch and was very worn out. We didn't it in the couch and didn't put anything on the floor (suitcases etc). Both flooring and all chairs/couch need replacing. Shower requires good cleaning/new grouting & a temperature regulator otherwise prepare for a hot blast every time anyone flushes a toilet. No fan in bathroom (just a window at eye level which anyone outside could look in on. Shower curtain was old and too large for the shower. Toilet roll hidden under towel hanging area. I'm positive by the garbage behind the couch it hasn't been moved in ages. No air conditioner unit. There was a restaurant next to the hotel which vented a very greasy smell which likely affected the room causing it to smell and feel stale. Very poor lighting without open curtains. This doesn't help staff see the dirt or the spider webs in the corners of the rooms. A half garbage bag was placed in the garbage and recycling bins but left for us to actually open up and complete the task. Garbage bins were overflowing outside the hotel rooms both days we were there. We didn't bother going to the pool based on everything else we saw. Please note we are not snobs and booking a $350 priced hotel for two nights was higher than we normally pay (usually pay about $130-165/night) This hotel was probably the second worst we have ever stayed in (we're in our 50's) esp considering the price. I would not recommend it at all until the place gets revamped.

I didn't get the room I reserved, a mix up at the front desk, I left the property to come back and find out that the front desk had given a key to my room to another couple, fortunately I arrived just after they discovered that they were entering an occupied room. I was supposed to be on the second floor with a balcony and view of the water. I was given ground floor. I was not happy to learn that they were priced at the same rate supposedly but I had already unpacked so did not swap rooms at that stage. I assumed that the ground floor suite was the approved "pet friendly" suite so didn't object at the time. Turns out the second floor room was also pet approved. Next time I will call the hotel and book direct to avoid this problem and confusion. Plus I had my cat with me who had already roamed all over the room so it would have been chaos for the front desk to logistically make it all work. After I suggested it, they waived the pet fee of $25/night and later when I checked out two days later they gave me a reduced rate on the second night of around $100 so that fixed that problem. The hotel itself needed work, nice on the outside, old and dated on the inside, next time read the reviews first, also missed that there was no air conditioning but I had a fan. Nice enough bed and pillows. Low rise tub tub to get in and out of to shower but no slip guards provided in the tub itself. Could see mold along the base boards in places. Bathroom fan was in need of repair and could not be turned on, sounded like a jet engine. I could also hear that same problem in rooms around me. Front room when you entered had a ceiling light that blinked like a strobe light so couldn't use that either. Reported the problems to front desk. Staff were friendly and tried their best to work to solve the problem but the hotel in the rooms needed some care and attention which was not the staff's fault.

I really like how Austin treats the people that stay there I’m always treated like gold is so accommodating and I’m always thrilled to see him whenever I stay there there’s other amazing stuff also but he’s my favourite

Don’t think I don’t like it. It’s very outdated and old so he could use a good cleaning. All the corners are kinda dirty under the bathroom counters dirty the showers in the pool are really gross and rusted.

The location is great. The atmosphere is less than great. The room was beat up and dirty. The common hallway carpets are filthy. The building doors have no security, they don't even close properly. Absolutely do not recommend this property

Quality of the beds.

This property is not 'Ramada' in any way, shape or form. Rooms are dated, filthy, and smelly. Hot water in shower was scalding if neighbour flushed the toilet. Pool was filled with locals who dropped in for a sweaty swim after work. Too many repairs & replacements are needed to get this place up to snuff. The whole property should be bulldozed. Trying to end on a positive note, the breakfast was delicious!

Location was good, also pricing for the summertime stay comparing to other properties. Breakfast seemed popular, however, we didn't use it. The property was quiet at nighttime.

Beds were not the worst for firmness, but still could have an upgrade, along with the whole property. Major complaint - if you paid with Booking, the Ramada would not provide you a receipt upon leaving. No microwave in room.

Location was fine for our needs. We only stayed one night as we were flying out the next day. Best thing about our stay was the good restaurant next door where we went for dinner. Upon entering our room, there was an odour and we had to air it out by opening the patio door and turning on a fan. We were on the ground floor so couldn't leave the door open while sleeping. Despite fan, the room was too warm to sleep comfortably. Also, mattress sagged in the middle. Overall the room was dated. Some flooring had been updated but there was old carpeting in half the room. Room appeared to be clean. Only light in bathroom was around a mirror over the sink. Toilet was very low (older style). Had clean towels and water pressure was good in the shower. We did not use the exercise room or pool. There was an old, unused mini-golf area in the courtyard that needs to be removed or repaired as it is a little unsightly. We chose the hotel as the room was reasonably priced and it offered a continental breakfast. Thinking next time, I might be willing to pay more for a better room. In addition, the next morning there was a sign on the door breakfast room saying it was not open due to staffing issues. So, that was disappointing.

Breakfast was good, well stocked and kept up by an employee who was constantly on the go, checking, stocking, cleaning.

The pool was nicely warm but made the space muggy making the windows have condensation. The sauna was padlocked closed and there was no hot tub.(although we can see the space where one was located before)

I haven’t been here for awhile but I do use this hotel . I love it.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is a bit older, but it's clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. There was a great selection, including scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles, hot toast, yogurt, fresh fruit, mini muffins, coffee, and tea. It was a fantastic way to start the day. Our room had everything we needed and more. We especially appreciated the kitchenette and microwave, which made our stay even more convenient. The biggest surprise was the swimming pool! I hadn't noticed that the hotel had one when I booked, so it was a wonderful bonus and made our stay even more enjoyable.

It was a bit confusing to find our room at first, but that was only a minor inconvenience. Other than that, everything was great.

In eerste opzicht leek het een prima hotel, niet te duur, wel wat gedateerd. Klacht rondom hygiëne werd opgelost door een deel terugbetaling.

Uiteindelijk bleek dat de kamer niet schoon was, we vonden een lege fles whiskey onder het bed met uitchecken wat ons gevoel bevestigde dat er niet goed schoon gemaakt was.

Very friendly desk clerks on check in and out . and staff and food was good the view was great amazing, seeing eagles and seals I recommend the stay here 😊

Nothing at all- to say its a part of the Ramada group - they need to visit this hotel unannounced.

Hindsight I should have refused to stay there but made the mistake of not asking to see the room first before checking in fully. The hotel is in need of considerable renovation both exterior & interior specifically internal cleaning of public areas [carpets and room] The corridor carpet was filthy and the hotel area I was in was overall shabby and dirty. I left a list of works required to undertake in the room I had. Breakfast was appalling & served in a room with a dustbin in the corner to put your waste in, preformed crockery & cutlery, formica tables - not very clean either. The Ramada name used to stand for a lot but not here. The pool was disgraceful paint off the walls and floor wouldn't want to even go in it.

The place is nice but it is being run into the ground. The walls are damaged and even have holes in them in many places like in our room, the hallways and the dining room. The staff are doing their best but it needs investment in repairs. The internet is terrible quality and runs very slow. The internet is a deal breaker for me. I could not stay there again due to the bad internet

Enjoyed our stay very much there. Location was absolutely perfect with beach directly across street and hotel was very family friendly and perfect for children with lots to keep them busy and having fun!

Location was nice, but it is right on the highway and there is no AC so you can't comfortably have your patio door open because of the ambient noise.

The people staying there were really loud all around us and I called the front desk to tell them but nothing changed. Got very little sleep. The floors were also filthy. Had to check all of my luggage for bed bugs.

Place was filthy, there was garbage sitting on the bed when we walked in and a cigarette butt in bathroom sink. Definatly very low grade hotel for high grade cost. Management needs to be more present.

Staff were all kind and helpful. Space was large and as described. Facilities were available and clean. Linens and surfaces were clean. No surprises, got what we paid for.

The building itself is older. Fairly well kept grounds. Being on the ocean there is a damp smell in some of the spaces. Not much anyone can do about that. Found some things under the bed and behind bedside table the indicated by the dust accumulated on the items they had been there for a long while. Needs a good deep cleaning and freshen. Housekeeping needs to do a bit better at the cleaning unseen spaces.

Staff were superb and always helped where they could, especially with my busy boys running everywhere! The mini golf and pool were perfect for kids. The setting is stunning and perfect for traveling into town. Overall a fantastic family get away.

It was a cold shower one morning and a stuffy attic bedroom but the beds were comfy and everything worked.

We were first allocated a very smelly room (musty, dirty living odour, probably in carpet and soft furnishings) but eventually got a fresh smelling cleaner room. Then the TV did not work, despite best efforts of staff.

I liked the variety of options that were available for breakfast. I liked that there was a tv available in the main area and the sleeping area. The beds were nice and comfortable.

I found the sofa bed in the common area uncomfortable and this made it unpleasant to sit on and watch television. We just had our snack in the common area and moved upstairs to the comfortable beds.

The desk staff were welcoming and professional. The rooms were clean. The housekeeper was great. The breakfast was good and the service was lovely.

Honestly, because of the Ramada brand, I was expecting a bit less rustic, roadside motel and a bit more of the Ramada touch. It was off season so the prices weren't too crazy but I would have been disappointed if I had been paying high season prices. It was still fine but I was a little underwhelmed.

I'm not confident both beds were fresh and clean upon arrival, one had hair and debris beneath the sheets. I told the staff on check out and he seemed genuinely concerned and gave me a small discount. The bathroom was stained with paint and didnt really look spotless.
