Had a wonderful stay here. Bit of a treat for us as we live in Kathmandu, but just wanted a bit of spoiling. Really lovely bedroom, we had the junior suite, which had a lovely jacuzzi. The breakfast was amazing, especially as we were able to linger. Gym was small but had all the stuff we wanted to do, so that was good. And, the satff took care of our every need.

The only slight let down was the size of the pool, and the temperature.

Excellent hotel! Super friendly and helpful staff, comfortable rooms, and good location. Pool was great, and the spa was nice. They treated us so well!

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff

I travel for work several times a year and stay in many hotels, so I don't say this lightly: Basera is one of the best places I have ever stayed. The staff are the reason. They are unfailingly courteous, and they go well beyond what any guest could reasonably expect. My flights into Kathmandu almost always land early in the morning, and every single time the team has arranged for my room to be ready so I could check in and rest instead of waiting until the afternoon. That kind of consistency is rare anywhere. The building itself is a pleasure. It is built in traditional Nepalese style, with carved woodwork and brickwork that give the place real character, and the atmosphere is calm even though you are in the middle of the city. The rooms are genuinely comfortable, well laid out and quiet, and the housekeeping is impeccable. I have never once found anything out of place. The restaurants deserve a mention of their own. The food is excellent, and after a long day at work, it is a real advantage not to have to look elsewhere for a good meal.

Basera Boutique Hotel is an exceptional place to stay in Kathmandu. It enjoys a wonderful location in a peaceful and beautiful neighbourhood, while remaining conveniently close to the city’s main sights. The hotel combines elegance and comfort with a discreet sense of luxury, creating an atmosphere that feels refined yet genuinely welcoming. Its architecture is particularly impressive, drawing beautifully on the traditional Newar style of the Kathmandu Valley. This gives Basera a distinctive character and a strong sense of place, far removed from the anonymity of a conventional international hotel. My room was spacious, quiet and extremely comfortable, and the airport transfers in both directions were seamless and very convenient. The food was consistently delicious, with an excellent selection of Nepali and Indian dishes alongside very well-prepared international cuisine. Above all, the staff was unfailingly courteous, attentive and helpful throughout my stay. Their warmth and professionalism contributed enormously to the experience. I would recommend Basera Boutique Hotel without hesitation to anyone seeking comfort, tranquillity, excellent hospitality and an authentic touch of Kathmandu’s architectural heritage. I very much hope to return.

This is a beautiful 5-star hotel. Guests are warmly welcomed with a traditional scarf and blessings, which adds a special touch to the experience. The stay was very quiet and peaceful, and both the room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful throughout my stay. In the evening, the hotel hosts a cultural dance show. I happened to arrive right at the start when no one else was there, and to my surprise, they still began the performance on schedule just for me. It was a very thoughtful gesture that made the experience feel truly special.

The location is convenient as it’s situated on a main road. However, compared to areas like Thamel, there isn’t much to see nearby since it’s more of a business district. You should expect to rely on taxis to get around. The hotel can also arrange a driver for the day, which is a convenient option.

We loved everything about this hotel. The location was good. The Royal Suite was the perfect place to relax after a full day’s sightseeing. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Restaurant was good.

When i checked in i was handed a bill that was much more expensive that the booking.com price. When i disputed this price, i was told the problem was i did not understand dollars the euro conversion. When i dissagreed, suddenly the correct, already printed, invoice was produced. Is this how things are supposed to work?

Staff were very helpful and really nice people, from the staff at reception to the guy directing the cars out the front they were all great, the whole place was just perfect for us

Front desk were very helpful with a number of requests. Food was really good, especially the local cuisine.... although breakfast was average. Good easy to find location for hotel, entertainment was fun.

Just some minor points.....why does a 5 star hotel have tatty, stained, paper menus? So simple and cheap to print some plastic ones. Some areas are a bit scruffy, and the swimming pool was unusably cold.

Les urge un chofer que hable ingles para conocer la Ciudad e ir a lugares de interés, no ponen mucho énfasis en eso y es frustrante no poder comunicarte. Nos toco día de elecciones y no hay ningún servicio todo cierra los monumentos y no hay taxis esta prohibido; el hotel podría cooperar teniendo bicicletas, organizar eventos culturales bailes típicos, etc, no se mueven, no sugieren nada escaso ingles en recepción algunas veces....

Dette hotellet er helt fantastisk. Rommene er fine og det er veldig god mat i restauranten. Rent og pent. De ansatte er helt fantastiske. Vi har reist mye, til mange forskellige land og har erfaring med hundrevis av hoteller. Jeg har aldri opplevd så god service som vi fikk på dette hotellet. Tusen takk for at dere gjorde reisen vår til Nepal til en uforglemmelig opplevelse!

Basera Boutique Hotel offers first class hospitality, in terms of their professional, courteous staff, and wonderful restaurants. The hotel is beautifully designed, with lovely live plants, comfortable seating in every public space, and traditional Nepalese carved wooden sculptures/art displayed throughout. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We enjoyed use of their spa services. (If you are a fan of deep tissue massage, do be aware that these petite ladies are VERY strong. You may need a translator to request less pressure.) We highly recommend this hotel, for the superb food and sweet staff.

The hotel is located is central Thamel, and therefore, pretty loud for most of the day. You will hear vehicle traffic between 10 am-6 pm daily. Secondly, the hotel offers a cultural dance show in the evenings after 7 pm. They use two large loud speakers, which offer a volume well beyond what anyone in the restaurant requires to hear the show. Every time we dined in the upstairs restaurant, we had to request that the volume be turned down. As soon as we left, the volume went back up. Our room was on the floor beneath the restaurant, and the noise was actually too much. The dance program runs as late as 10 pm. This issue with music volume is the main reason Basera Boutique did not get a higher rating from us. If you are noise sensitive, we recommend that you stay on a lower floor.

The staffs were very helpful. Mr Rashil were very generous to help us book activities, solved different issues we faced there and he was very cooperative. We had a wonderful time in Kathmandu.

I had a wonderful stay at Basera Boutique Hotel. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The food was delicious with a good variety of options, and the breakfast was excellent. What I appreciated most was the staff – they were always polite, helpful, and welcoming, which made me feel at home. The location is convenient yet peaceful, and overall the atmosphere of the hotel is relaxing. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kathmandu.

Excellent service and very helpful staff members

After a long and exhausting day canceling our flight due to bad weather in Pokhara, we booked this hotel at the last minute because our kids really needed to rest. The check-in process was very fast and smooth. The rooms were beautifully decorated, the sheets were clean, and we enjoyed a very delicious dinner with traditional entertainment. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, even though it was only for one night. We will surely come back again.

The location is ideal, away from the city center but still in the mix of the groove of the city. The staff is very friendly, both restaurants are excellent.

I booked my room at the very last minute—literally right before my early-morning flight. When I landed, my airport pickup was already arranged. I arrived at the hotel before check-in time planning to just drop off my bags, but they told me my room was ready, so I checked in immediately. They answered all my questions and gave very helpful tips about what to do in Kathmandu. The staff were polite, efficient, and very good at their jobs, and the food was delicious.

From check-in to check-out, we had a majestic experience at Basera Hotel on the occasion of our wedding anniversary. We were lucky to benefit from a room upgrade where we felt like home. Our special requests were filled with care and we even had special surprises. A very warm welcome, very comfortable bed, delicious cuisine from the Bhansa restaurant... and more. We were lucky to have beautiful views on Himalaya range from the room.

Tuve que ir al hospital varías veces para recoger unos documentos y las chicas de recepción me ayudaron bastante. Me acompaño personal del hotel al hospital para ayudarme a reclamar a esos documentos. Se portaron muy bien conmigo en todo momento. Las habitaciones son grandes, limpias y las camas muy cómodas. Me sentí muy bien en este hotel. La comida que hacen aquí también está muy buena. Es un hotel calidad-precio bastante bien. Lo recomiendo 100%.
