Lovely hotel, had everything we needed for the one night. Be careful with the shower, the water leaks out from under the door, don’t put anything near there you wouldn’t want to get wet! Make sure you take a form of photo ID, I didn’t realise you would need it. Breakfast was really nice, plenty of choice and the restaurant is huge so plenty of space no matter what time you go.

Overall a great stay, centrally located and near most things. Room was very large for London which was great and the view was good. Would highly recommend

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at , and we’ve stayed at many many hotels around the world . The only thing going for it is the location and breakfast . We found the staff to be extremely rude and unhelpful , we had multiple stays in a matters of weeks with them and if we hadn’t of pre paid we would have cancelled our booking after the 1 st stay . The rooms are tidy but there is nothing in the room but a bed and a chair . I’m sorry this is classed as a 4.5 star hotel they don’t even have a restaurant and the bar is a little cafe outside which charge £9 for 2 small bottles of water !!!! My husband was having a shower ( pretty crappy shower, great if you have disabilities ) and the entire bathroom flooded . There is no shower stall It’s open with a curtain that doesn’t even reach the floor. The tap In the tiny sink had to be held up with one hand whilst trying to get your hands washed We had a 3 day get away and we were booked to come back and we asked them if they would store our larger bags for us if possible , we were told nope it can’t happen , so we had to spend another £50 to store our bags at a storage place , maybe I’m being unreasonable but if we had had 3 stays in a short time each for between 2-4 days each stay that maybe they would be a little accomodating in helping us . There is limited places to sit and relax unless you sit outside on the kerb .. We stayed at the RIU in Dublin and it was fantastic , the staff, the bar, the restaurant the rooms where all lovely Such a shame that the RIU Westminster couldn’t be like them . I’m not one to write a review but I wanted to warn anyone thinking of staying here to reconsider and maybe find a better 4.5 star hotel which actually looks after their patrons

In general, I would say that this hotel is decent for a stay in London if their service were more customer-centric. Our room was far from perfect: there was mold next to the shower, and the wood next to the shower was swollen as well. The sink had green algae and was broken. During breakfast, we asked for a gluten-free brownie. It didn’t taste well, and when checking the expiration date, we discovered that the brownie was already expired for two days. The taste might not be due to the expiration, but a hotel (and certainly not a 4* hotel) shouldn’t serve expired food to customers. These issues were discussed with the hotel staff. They direct you to a general email address for complaints. In return for these inconveniences, we were offered 1500 RIU Class points. To be honest, I don’t think this is fair compensation. When you book directly via Riu, you would think they appreciate this more and would offer a compensation in the currency (money) you paid, not in some virtual points which in the real world don’t have value. I asked to be compensated in the currency of our booking, but sadly enough, the helpdesk employee again replied that the points are the only way they can compensate. So in short: we would think twice about booking this hotel again. Be aware that some rooms in RIU are outdated and need maintenance, check expiration dates on the gluten-free food, and place your booking via a third party like Booking.com since you will be compensated in a correct way and not in a virtual currency that has no real value. The complaints handling is a joke for these serious mistakes.

This was my first stay at the Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster, and overall, I found the hotel to be pleasant and accommodating. From the moment we arrived, the lobby staff were friendly, helpful, and sociable. The check-in process was quick and efficient. Although we arrived before our room was ready, the staff gladly stored our luggage so that we could begin enjoying London without having to carry our bags around. Our room was on the smaller side, but it was perfectly adequate for our stay. It included a small refrigerator, the air conditioning worked very well, and there was always plenty of hot water. Overall, the room was comfortable and met our needs. Breakfast was average, with a decent selection but nothing particularly extraordinary. One suggestion I would make is to offer mimosas during breakfast, even if they are available for an additional charge. As someone who enjoys a mimosa with breakfast while on vacation, I would have happily paid separately for one. Unfortunately, I did have one uncomfortable experience during breakfast that I feel is worth mentioning. An employee repeatedly hovered around my guest and me while we were eating and remained nearby until we finished. What made the situation particularly noticeable was that the same level of attention was not given to a white family of four seated nearby who had finished their meal before we did. As people of color, we could not help but feel singled out by the difference in treatment. I cannot speak to the employee’s intentions, but the experience made us uncomfortable and gave us the impression that we were being watched more closely than other guests. Perhaps additional training regarding consistent and equitable treatment of all guests would be beneficial. That experience aside, the remainder of our stay was pleasant. The hotel is comfortable, the lobby staff made a very positive impression, and I appreciated the overall service we received. I would stay at the Hotel Riu Plaza London The Westminster again on a future visit to London. I simply hope that management takes concerns such as this seriously so that every guest feels equally welcomed and comfortable throughout their stay.

This hotel is in a great spot for walking to many places of interest, the rooms are a bit small and the corridors are very dark, the breakfast was very good in a massive area on the 1st floor, I paid for parking and it was £40 for 24 hours when you turn up and the parking is very tight We had a nice stay the weather was good

Have stayed in this hotel before under previous ownership as it offers an excellent nights sleep. Disappointed that the restaurant is no longer open in the evening nor is the bar. The coffee shop downstairs is now the Lobby Bar. Not an issue in the summer but having to go out for food in the winter will be a bit annoying. Hotel now feels a bit lifeless I’m afraid but you will get a decent sleep.

I would like to especially thank the hostess Thea who helped me a lot and was listening. She saw my difficulty speaking English she did not hesitate to translate on her cell phone in French so that I could understand, thanks to her. Booked a family room for one night 31/7. As seasoned RIU customers we expected RIU standards. From start to finish we were not disappointed. Welcome ✔️Staff✔️Room✔️Breakfast ✔️✔️❤️. Concierge gave good advice of local pubs, bars & restaurants. Room was adequate for short stay, with Grandchildren 12 & 14. Cleanliness was excellent. Layout of the room was easy well designed. Only small negative lift rather busy at peak times. We have found a replacement go to for London.

RIU Plaza London The Westminster, located a mere stroll from several of London’s main attractions, provides for a convenient base from which guests can easily access everything the historic city has to offer. Whilst the hotel itself lacks any historic old-London charm, it makes up for it with its modern build and decor. The property provides guest a brilliantly decked-out gym across the two uppermost floors of the building, offering sweeping views of the city. Although the hotel does not feature a restaurant on-site, it does offer a bar on the ground floor, and a wonderful and option-heavy breakfast (hot - eggs, pancakes, waffles, bacon etc, and cold - pastries, fruit, yoghurt etc), although I’d recommend beating the crowd and getting in as early as you can, as it does get very busy. Just be aware, you will be herded into a particular area of the breakfast dining room until it’s busy enough to warrant more spread of guests - I wasn’t able to take a seat at a table in a slightly more quiet area and was instead directed to sit in the crowded area (quite full at the time), where guests were being directed until that was full, before allocating seating in my desired spot. There are also no in-room dining options available in the hotel. Despite its prime location, the hotel is not quite as conveniently located to nearby dining options as are many other properties in the city, but there are a few options nearby. For grab-and-go options, however, the hotel bar is a convenient option. The hotel operates a total of four guest lifts, although these tend to get quite full if on a higher floor. A few times I had to wait for the next lift due to the lift being full of other guests - especially during breakfast times. A minor grievance, unless perhaps on the top floor, and squished into the corner by other reckless guests forcing themself into the lift to save themself a wait - something i did see happen to a fellow guest. Clearly, fault of other guests more than the hotel. Welcoming me beyond the automatic revolving door was a friendly hotel staff member to greet me, and point me in the direction of an available colleague to check me in. Check in was prompt, informative and quick. The staff member had me checked in and advised of amenities and breakfast within moments. The room itself is peculiar in layout. Immediately upon entry, guests are greeted with the bathroom, featuring separate toilet and shower, which forms the thoroughfare to the bedroom. An interconnecting door also featured in the bathroom, through which the muffling of the neighbouring guests could clearly be heard. Conveniently, a sliding door separates the bedroom from the bathroom, helping drown out those muffled voices. In traditional London-esque style, the room itself is relatively small. The bed is comfortable, and very basic tea and coffee making facilities are provided. Although I found the room comfortable enough, I did find myself struggling to get a decent night of sleep on any of the four nights of my stay - likely due to travellers-foot more than the room itself. Without question, the greatest appeal of this hotel is its location, the breakfast and the fitness centre. Provided half-star ratings were an option, I would rate this property 3.5 stars. As it is without question above that of 3 stars, I have no option but to rate it at 4. Its redeeming factors really are the impressive breakfast spread and the well equipped gym with amazing views.

Straight from check in the staff were all amazing. So friendly and extremely helpful. We loved the hotel decor, corridors and seating areas which were all clean and tidy with some great art work. The addition of the water stations is a big bonus. We were on the 9th floor and our room was perfect. Spotlessly clean with everything we could need. We loved the whole layout of the room from the amazing shower room, curved wardrobe (safe, iron, ironing board, hairdryer inside) , little privacy door, bedroom area with fridge and tea/coffee. Our bed was so comfy and the room so quiet. We did have a glass of wine from the bar/cafe in the afternoon which was a great price and we sat outside in the sun at the front of the hotel although there was plenty of seating inside the reception area. We went to breakfast about 0830 and there were plenty of empty seats and no crowding or waiting for food. The selection of hot and cold dishes was very good and the cooked breakfast was all very hot. The staff were attentive and cleared things away quickly. Location is great , quick 5/10 min walk from Pimlico tube on the Victoria line so easy to access all parts of London. A big thank you to all the staff, we stay in Riu hotels regularly and the staff are always a credit to them. Will definitely stay again when we come down to London.

The staff are professional and helpful. We have to have a gluten-free diet, and the breakfast is one of the best. The gluten-free items were kept well away from the rest, with a great selection of items and clearly marked. The rooms are very spacious and differently set out from any other hotel. Very comfortable and spacious.

The bed was very comfortable and the overhead shower was the best I've used in a long time! Also the breakfast was amazing! So much selection and very tasty! Location was about a 5 minute walk from Big Ben. Lovely hotel!

La salle de bain et douche de couleur noir était claustrophobique. Très peu d'espace autour des lits. Il n'y avait seulement qu'une chaise pour deux personnes. Manque de tablettes dans l'armoire. Pas de machine à glace sur l'étage. Dans le café adjoignant l'hotel nous ne pouvions pas avoir de breuvage froid après 8.00-9.00 heure le soir. Pas de restaurant pour les autre repas et éloigner des épicerie ou restaurant.

There was no room service. There was a vacuum just in front of my room door. The bed was horrible! I felt every single spring. The breakfast that came with the room was cold!! All of the pastries, breads were hard as stone. For the price the presidential room prestige I would have expected a million times better

Not something that ruined my stay, but the room was quite small for 2 people. One luggage would fit inside the ‘wardrobe’, but the other would stay in the middle of the room. Also, the shower and toilet door was a bit transparent.

We had an issue with our booking - I booked Westminster in error - Maira (Manager) and Gabriela were unbelievably helpful and kind with resolving this, although it took very long (see below). They and porter Prakash are Star performers!

The transfer of the booking from Westminster to Victoria took almost two hours! Issues with communication between the sites (sometimes 10 minutes just to link) and emailed payment link (which took over one hour) were very frustrating both for me and the staff. We experienved a very rude manager, Moises, on the last morning at Breakfast on 21/7. He was surly, rude with his communication and turned his back on us when we tried to inquire about why. Even the floor staff were embarassed. He let your excellent product down.

Room had very little storage , no hooks for robes, towels. Bed was not very good, springs squeaked. Cleaning was mediocre, floor turned socks black. Couldn’t drink the water in the room, needed to go down the hall to get drinking water. For the price not impressed.

Das Zimmer war deutlich kleiner als bei der Buchung angegeben. Leider konnten wir die Managerin davon nicht überzeugen. Sie zeigte sich äußerst uneinsichtig und beharrte selbst nach dem Nachmessen auf seiner Position. Ihr Argument war, dass es sich um das Standardzimmer (Deluxe) handele, das wir gebucht hätten. Tatsächlich hat jedoch das Hotel falsche Angaben gemacht, indem es die Größe dieses sogenannten Standardzimmers falsch veröffentlicht hat. Das Zimmer war so eng, dass man nach dem Abstellen eines Koffers kaum noch hindurchgehen konnte. Besonders erschreckend war das Brandschutzsystem, das offenbar nicht funktionierte. Während unseres Aufenthalts mussten wir mindestens zweimal in den frühen Morgenstunden wegen Fehlalarmen evakuiert werden. Dabei erhielten wir vom Hotel keinerlei Informationen oder Erklärungen. Auch das sogenannte Badezimmer war äußerst mangelhaft. Ganz abgesehen davon, dass regelmäßig Wasser aus dem Bad ins Zimmer lief. Insgesamt ist es beschämend, dass ein Hotel mit derart irreführenden Angaben und falschen Versprechungen versucht, sich als Luxushotel zu präsentieren. Ein solcher Standard wird einer Stadt wie London in keiner Weise gerecht.

Only a couple of small things like no pool , no bar area & only 2 option of eggs for breakfast, no alternatives like fried / poached ! For such a great hotel , there should be an option in room for an espresso machine !
