The Gatwick White House Hotel

This is a basic hotel that is friendly, well run and clean. The breakfast has some nice options. It is not far from the airport however the transfer is around £20 each way.

The rooms are a little small but fine for 1 night

Very handy location for Gatwick Airport. Bus stop just a short walk from the hotel. Good value for money. Clean room with water, tea coffee and biscuits in the room and continental breakfast included in the price.

It's okay for a one night stay. Budget hotel with a small bar. The room did smell slightly musty. Breakfast is basic but adequate. Hardly saw any staff but I arrived late and left early morning.

Shower drain was partially blocked and needed to be cleaned out The shower hose leaked so badly there was barely any water coming out of the shower head. The metal bunk bed in our room creaked every time you moved and made it very difficult to sleep. The mattress was uncomfortable I had chicken tikka masala in the restaurant having seen the reviews saying how great the curries were. It was disappointing and served lukewarm

Rescue hotel near Gatwick while stranded after missing flights due to exceptional trains disruptions : best indian food there and cheap and the employees are very helpful and kind.

Location is good for Gatwick airport, and there is a Lidls within walking distance. Plenty of hot water. There is transport to the airport which cost £23 but you can get an Uber for less.

No lifts so dragging a heavy suitcase up 2 flights of stairs was difficult. My bed didn't have a quilt, just a dirty looking blanket, so when I questioned that I was given another room on the ground floor which was better. Breakfast was VERY basic, I just had a bowl of muesli.

The staff was very friendly. Love the convenience of the shuttle transportation. Room was simple but clean and had everything I needed for airport stay. The morning to go breakfast for my very early departure was a nice touch. Down the street from lidl and was able to reach hotel via public transport

The bar area and restaurant area very clean and decor. Upstairs,the hallway and rooms need refurbishment and a good clean. The bedding and bed were clean and comfy. For the price I can't really fault it,as long as have good clean bed/linen and good breakfast, to me that's all that matters,that's what I pay for. Very Happy overall.

This place is a hidden gem the concierge was warm and accommodating the food was fantastic and great value and I’m a northerner so it really was a fair price on food and drink the hotel is clean and it’s only 10 minutes to Gatwick airport they offer shuttle runs and good breakfast options I was extremely impressed by this 2 star option it’s better than some 4 star hotels you won’t be disappointed

The hotel is very close to the airport, even though transportation between the terminal and the hotel in a taxi was expensive. Very convenient for travel, decent room, ok breakfast (included)

We booked a double bed and ended up with a single and two bunk beds. The breakfast was ok but could have been a little bit better organised.

The workers really friendly.beds were comfy. Beautiful breakfast well worth the extra.

The really really strong smell of air freshener so we thought it was a wall plug so we searched for it it ends up it was the bedding. It smelt dirty in places To be fair that's all we could complain about. The top pillows smelt as well the white sheets and the white pillows were fresh though.

Room was ok Shower cubicle very narrow and therefore hot and cold tap control can be knocked when turning around and can get burnt with very hot water . The shower control should be fixed. in summer a small fan should be provided in the room Paid for the English breakfast but did not get it on time however, money refunded

The rooms are very tired , mattress had springs coming through, got there bar closed, self serve at breakfast and not a lot of choice never saw any staff, even had to scrap our plates off and put cutlery and plates in separate containers, I’ve I hadn’t got upgrade for free breakfast I would’ve complained about the breakfast, only saw 2 members of staff that was checking in & out , plus you have to pay £12 for parking

The staff here are the best! I needed a favour with sending a parcel and the manager was more than helpful. Very much appreciated when I was exhausted after 24 hours flying from Australia! The room is clean and comfortable. Everything you need. Easy access from Gatwick, short walk to Lidl and Tesco. Nice area for running too! Would definitely stay here again!

Mattress is pretty average but I was so tired I just crashed out. For the price, this place is totally worth it.

Propreté limite dans l’ensemble de l’hôtel des parties communes, au chambre Nous avons dû demander pour le petit déjeuner de recharger sur plusieurs produits manquants, il n’y avait pas de verres, plus de tasses il a fallut aussi en redemander (pourtant nous n’étions pas nombreux dans la salle) cela dis ça a été fais tout de suite. Le seul bémol pour nous a été la chambre triple au lieu de la chambre familiale pour 4 que nous avions réservé comme nous sommes arrivés à 2h30 dans la nuit nous nous en sommes contentés mais j’ai dû dormir avec l’un de mes enfants autant dire que j’ai très peu dormi.

We had a wonderful time at Gatwick White House Hotel, with good rooms, wonderful food & drink and a very funny host. Will be coming back sooner or later.

I liked the setting, I liked the hotel and everything, and the staff were very friendly.

Good location for the airport. Room facilities were ok for 1 or 2 nights although tea/coffee wasn't replenished without asking.

Room was incredibly hot with no air con or fan available. A lot of noise from the road with windows open to cool the room. Breakfast was not great - no croissants as pictured, cheap bread but plenty of lettuce! Worst thing for me was that the parking was £12 per night - I can understand this parking charge if you are leaving your car whilst flying away but a charge like this for being a guest at the hotel is ridiculous.

A reasonably priced option not too far from Gatwick Airport. A 10-15 minute walk from the station, and then the train is quick from there. Nice that the bar is also a curry house. It was nice to sit and relax in the garden too.

It was quite dimly lit in the corridors and the room was pretty small – not much desk space, so it was easier to go outside with my laptop to work.

High cost for airport shuttle, £23 each way. I picked this place because I understood the shuttle service was included. Perhaps this is due to airport fees for taxis. I walked 15 mins to the train station, and took a 2 mins train ride to the airport. The room did not feel clean.

I can only speak for the restaurant, because we didn't stay at the hotel I'm afraid. The restaurant however has AMAZING food. They offer fusions between mainly Italian and Indian food, but also some others. Their combinations go amazingly well. It offers a taste I've never quite experienced before. The place is also very clean! Staff are very friendly and take a genuine interest if you like their food. If you are in the area, I highly recommend visiting them. They really are a hidden gem!!

We liked the spacious room with separate full bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. Didn't experience the Breakfast, as we had an early departure.

All rooms were upstairs, hard to pull luggage to the steep stairs. The mattresses were uncomfortably for sleeping.

Rules of stay are unclear and everything that should be standard comes at a price which is disclosed to you only after you have requested the said items. Rooms are not very clean. No air conditioning makes the rooms unlivable in the summer. Corridors are moldy. This feels more like a backpackers and should be priced accordingly.

The staff are so friendly, and whilst the rooms are a little dated, we just wanted somewhere to put our bags and lay our heads before going to Gatwick for an early morning flight. We walked to a local pub to eat dinner, however the smell of the curries on offer, we wished we had eaten in the hotel!

This is an amazing little hotel with amazing food and very special staff who never make you feel you’re in their way and will always stop what they’re doing to listen to you or help you. This is the second time I’ve stayed there. Both rooms I’ve stayed in have been clean and comfortable with the beds being lovely too.

Maybe a bit more drinking water available in the room. My kettle was too big to fit under the sink tap and there was only one small bottle of drinking water on the tray.

Super close to Gatwick Airport. Plenty of parking spots. The room was basic but perfect place for an affordable stop in or out of Gatwick Airport. The reception was open until late, but there was also a person to open the main doors very late at night. The keys and info to the room was waiting for me at reception...nice touch! The room was clean and the sheets was silky smooth and the bed was very comfy. The rooms came with a kettle, tea & coffee facilities. Note that there isn't a fridge in the room. The breakfast was basic but good enough - ham, cheese, cereals, spreads, hot drinks, juices, clean area, etc. It's good that there was also options to have a full English breakfast also (for an extra cost, cheap and cheerful). I would recommend The Gatwick White House Hotel if you want a quick stop - easy, convenient & affordable.

Sound proofing was poor as I was able to hear people moving around outside the room in the early hours of the morning. The solution = ear plugs!! So bring some with you. Communication from the hotel was via Booking,com chat. So I missed out on certain information beforemI arrived. Note I didn't have notifications turned on for Booking.com on my mobile. It will be better if these comms were also CC'ed to sent out to the user's personal email. Maybe an extra step that can be sent out by the hotel?

Clean, basic accomodation, comfy beds, good shower, and tea making in the room. Simple breakfast with toast and cereal. A nice area outside to sit which was great as we were there on a very hot day, and with no air-conditioning, the room was very hot so it was nice to sit outside under the trees. There is a communal fridge and microwave which were handy. Walking distance from Horley station and we got our own local taxi to the airport as it was about half the price of the hotel's service. Great pub nearby- The Ye Olde Six Bells. Would stay again if travelling via Gatwick airport.

Breakfast was poor. Egg is not in the Breakfast, except for one day out of the 7 nights. Though I was given eggs on two occasions.

My room was okay. No housekeeping all through the nights I stayed. Had to request for room supply. Took out my room garbage myself.

Convenient to Gatwick, we walked to avoid the heavy shuttle price I thought would have been complimentary.

I booked this place through Hotels.com expecting a simple budget hotel near Gatwick. What I walked into was nothing close to a hotel. The room was a cramped, hostel‑style setup with multiple beds squeezed into a tiny space and absolutely no privacy. The whole place felt neglected and poorly maintained. There were flying insects on the bed, which made the situation completely unacceptable. That alone is enough for any traveller to walk straight out. We left immediately and booked into the local Premier Inn instead — which actually felt like a proper hotel and was a huge relief after seeing this place. Despite leaving right away and not staying, no refund was issued, which says a lot about the standards and customer care here. Overall, the atmosphere was uncomfortable, the quality was poor, and the experience was disappointing from start to finish. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Great location - easy to walk to from Horley station. My flight was delayed and the trains were delayed (both due to heatwave!), but instructions sent for self-service check were easy to follow. Room was compact, but OK. As I arrived so late - I was only there for 7 hrs! I have stayed here a few times, but didn't have breakfast this time.

Very few staff- guy on reception was receptionist, bar person, waiter and shuttle driver. Room was very small, hard to move suitcases around the bed. Shower room was tiny. Decor very dated, shabby and eclectic.

We didnt get much sleep because the room was so hot. Very uncomfortable. Felt like I couldn't breathe at one point. We opened the window but there was no fresh air coming in, just noise from the road. Please invest in some fans for each room in order to make it more bearable. Thank you.

Breakfast an absolute ripoff, especially as I paid extra for it. I was literally left a brown bag at reception with an apple, a bottle of water, a small carton of juice, and two small bits of processed bake sponge wrapped in plastic. Definitely inappropriate for even a complimentary breakfast, far less for a paid one. Another complaint is I only found out that airport pickup and return costs 44 pounds after booking the non-refundable room. I have never before seen a hotel mention airport shuttle in their amenities and mean that it is only available at an added cost. Not to mention the trip takes under 5 minutes. Finally, the room was hot with no air-conditioning or even a fan. And I am from the Caribbean, so I can tolerate heat. It was not comfortable.

A very friendly hotel, staff lovely, bed comfy, really good shower. I use everytime for Gatwick departures. They also take and collect from the airport.

It was well-priced and easy to get to Gatwick from there.

It was filthy dirty and so hot! And I didn’t even get the room I’d booked (booked a single and got a triple with a bunk bed blocking the window). It was during the hear wave and not so much as a fan provided. The whole place needed a good scrub as well.
