Gatwick Turret Guest House

They forgot to send us the code needed to enter the property. We tried contacting them via WhatsApp and the phone number provided, but received no response at all. As a result, we were unable to access the property and had to sleep at the airport for the entire night. This was extremely frustrating and completely unacceptable for a booked accommodation.

The guest house is a stone's throw away from Gatwick airport and right by a bus-stop. It is very convenient for the airport. Breakfast was ok and available before 8am.

The guest house is not very modern. The bed was slightly narrow. The sink was in the bedroom because it could not fit in the bathroom. The staff could not advise or recommend a bar that was next door.

Zimmer und Bad waren sauber und funktionell eingerichtet. Die Unterkunft nahe Gattwick Airport war für eine Nacht gut geeignet und mit dem Bus 100 sehr gut zu erreichen. Man bekommt einen Code und kann dann auch spät abends noch ankommen.

Das Frühstück gibt es erst ab 9:00 Uhr! Das ist gerade für einen Hin- oder Rückreisetermin viel zu spät.

Soundproofing was not good, I could the guest in the next room snoring and guest above me having a phone conversation

Loved the quietness of a small place. We booked the two attic rooms on the 2nd floor (2 flights of stairs but we were able to leave our big bag on ground level). Bed was comfortable and the hot shower was lovely. The owner was so sweet and helpful. We were within walking distance of quaint pub Ye Olde Six Bells.

Make sure you confirm you want a hot breakfasf (if breakfast included) upon checkin. We didn’t know and caught the owner by surprise in the morning. All good. Our mistake.

Cold shower, bedroom bedside lights didn't work, fan in bathroom didn't work, stairs were very steep. Breakfast booked for 8:30 am but dining room not open eventually got breakfast at 9:00 am. Parking booked but no space initially. Had to move car in the morning to let some one out

Unpretentious, clean, warm, safe, comfortable. Not trying to be something it's not. A good price point and good communication before arrival. I'd stay again.

It was very warm. A fan and a skylight took care of that but it was not warm on the day we arrived; I'd think it would really struggle on hot days.

It was a lovely b and b. Girl on the reception was very sweet, ordered 2 latte. Took to our room, comfortable bed. Canrt comment on breakfast as we left early hours. We did find out you can leave the car there for the length of your holiday will keep that in mind would visit again 🙂

Couldn't get breakfast i paid for breakfast but it wasn't open till 9.30 so out of 6 breakfast I paid for witch cost me 60£ my wife had one not good at all really disappointed with it it always was open for 7.30 but now you just don't know

Gatwick Turret is close to London Gatwick Airport and there is a high street 7 mins walk away. Staff were friendly, room was clean, toilet and sink were also clean but bathroom could have been cleaned a bit better. But still, fantastic stay over for the.price.

Very nice litte guest house. Very close to Gatwick Airport and the metro station which is very convenient to reach London centre.

Unfortunately if you leave the windows open at night you can hear the cars from the road which makes it difficult to get to sleep.

Old house, no lift (as stated in the description), the driveway does not have asphalt, so you have to drag the suitcases rather than roll them. Rooms are small, as in old houses in England. No surprised really.

Second time round that we have stayed with Rai Early start from nearby Horley railway station (03.48) train to St Pancras International We looked at staying in central London or using the car park at St. Pancras both options were stupidly astronomic so contacted Gatwick Turret who not only had a family room but were able to accommodate my car for 4 nights for approx £200 less than it would have cost me to park in central London I would fully recommend staying here if you do not want to be ripped off Room was as comfortable as ever and would not hesitate to stop here again gets full marrks from me

Room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I’ve been here several times and it never disappoints me. I normally take a taxi to the airport but this time I took the bus, very easy and right across the street from the house.

Staying 1 night before parking at Gatwick airport. I dont recall seeing at the time of booking that parking was a separate charge. I can understand if leaving the car there for the duration of the trip but when paying to stay at the accommodation I don’t think paying a parking charge for that period is really reasonable

We stayed 1 night during a heat wave, so this isn't the accommodations fault but no air conditioning made for a very uncomfortable night. A fan was provided but didn't do much. Toilyet seat didn't stay up and there was quite a sizable crack in the shower tray.

Great location! The local bus to Gatwick airport stops right in front of the Guest House. Nicely renovated and beds were comfortable. We stayed during the heat wave and it wasn't too bad given the conditions.

Hotel was nice and clean staff were pleasant. My only issue is when I booked online i asked for a ground floor room due to mobility issues I didn’t get a reply to that request . On the day of my stay I was given a room on the top floor of the house so I had to navigate multiple flights of stairs which was difficult enough but was made worse by only having handrail on one side of the stairs so with my disability both leg and arm I found this difficult, Had I known there wasn’t a room on ground floor prior to my visit I would of stayed elsewhere.

I have been using this hotel for years, and love the convenience of being able to park on site and catch th 20 or 100 bus from the bus stop opposite straight to Gatwick South. My only qualms is that the on my last stay instead of a single room, which I've never had an issues with, I was given a family room and the double mattress was very soft with a hump in the centre, really uncomfortable and needs replacing, I barely slept a wink.

Only thing i’d mention is there was only 1 towel for 2 of us. other than that it was perfect.

There was an issue with transport on day we arrived and long delays with public transfer so with only carry on luggage we were able to walk to the guest house about a mile through back streets. Close to airport budget friendly clean and nice staff. Family run 3 star guest house. I had a single and it was as small and cramped as you d expect a single to be but the other rooms are fine.

The fact that the owner facilitated very late arrival. The room was modern and very comfortable with an en suite shower and toilet. Having met him for the first time the following morning (I've stayed here before) I was very happy with the friendliness and accommodating nature of both he and his wife. He cooked a really good full English breakfast!

Nothing really. The only thing was that the house being Victorian/Edwardian, it was difficult to lug heavy suitcases up to the first floor, there being no lift. The owners are in the process of modernising the accommodation (our room was renovated with all mod cons) so whether they are intending to install a lift is as yet unknown.

Immediate help when asking for directions on arriving there by public transit. A friendly welcome reception upon arrival. A lovely room. Comfy bed - could not ask for more. Definitely stay again.

A second comfortable one-night stay before a flight from Gatwick. My single room was nicely refurbished but retaining original character - the Turret is a beautiful period house. The en-suite was quite compact. Although located on a fairly busy road, the Turret is set well back from it and I noticed no noise at night. I never noticed any noise from air traffic, despite the airport being less than 10mins bus ride away, with the bus stop conveniently right opposite. The holiday car parking offer is very good value, especially if you travel light enough to use the public bus to the terminals. Owner/manager Rai and his family are delightful hosts. I look forward to staying again.

Taxi to the airport was a bit expensive and I had trouble regulating the shower temperature

The first night it was unusually hot and the room didn't have air con- there was a fan but with 4 of us sleeping in it, it was very stuffy! But in fairness it rarely gets that hot in England.

I arrived early in the morning and the receptionist allowed me to check in early, after she checked with the cleaning staff. The receptionist also gave me excellent information regarding getting around to London by train from the local train station. An excellent stay in a beautiful city

As we were leaving too early for breakfast some lovely croissants, jam and fruit was provided the night before which we greatly appreciated.

No air conditioning - south facing room was hot- best to keep curtains closed. Very small room. Very narrow shower door opening- needed to step in and out sideways

The bus stop was directly outside and for that reason I chose to stay again . The house was a lovely period property and the owner was very welcoming and it was nice just to relax in the hallway for a bit when I arrived. All in all I would say it was a pleasant stay and very convenient. The nice thing was the lady upgraded my room to a double bed. The room was very pleasant and had most things on it that you needed the bed was very comfortable and there was a pleasant brace coming through the shutters.

The stairs to the second floor were a little narrow, but then you can’t complain in such a quaint old English property. Someone decided to slam a door at 3 o’clock in the morning and continue to move about. not sure if that was the same person but once I was awake, I really couldn’t get back off to sleep. The bed side lamp kept flickering and wasn’t working. There were only two teabags and a few sugars and two coffee sachets if you arrive in the evening and go through to the next morning you need more than 2 cups of tea and that was a double room luckily I was on my own. The water in the shower was very hot and I couldn’t work out how to get any cold no matter how much I turned it it really was scolding which is nice because sometimes you book to an accommodation the waters cold.

We have used the Gatwick Turret several times when flying from Gatwick. The owners are always very friendly and helpful and the stay with parking is excellent value for money. It is only a short walk into Horley where there are a choice of restaurants. The hotel is also more than happy to order you a taxi or advise on the buses available to get you to the airport

V tomto ubytování jsem byl již po několikáté při svém každoročním návratu z Gibraltaru.Pro mě je velmi vyhovující cena a umístění kam mohu pohodlně dojít po příletu pěšky.Personál guest housu je velmi milý.Obzvláště se krásně kouká na mladíka který na recepci je.Oproti minulému roku bylo také poznat, že pokoje prošli rekonstrukcí.

Due to being a disabled traveller ,I did request a ground floor room but none were available so i was given a room at the top of the house on the second floor . There is no hand railed fitted on the right hand side going up the stairs which is a problem for me as i only have the use of my right hand and have walking issues do i had to grip into walk moulding ti get the the room .It would also be nice to have a fridge in the room especially due to the extreme hot weather we experienced during my stay so there was nothing ti keep drinks cold .The staff was pleasant and help full

Very reasonable price. Lots of parking. We had a lovely big room with three beds in it, two singles and a double. There was still lots of room to open suitcases on the floor when it was time to pack. Less than a 10 minute walk to Horley train station, less again to the Horley shops where there were lots of places to eat, including some great pubs. Best of all, the bus to Gatwick airport is just across the road and it takes about 5 minutes to get there. Excellent if you have an early flight.
