The home and all the services were top-notch. Everything was impeccable. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic in every way delicious and very enjoyable
Everything is perfect
Secluded location at the foot of Slieve Foye, personal non-corporate homely vibe and of course the superb cuisine!
I can’t think of anything
So calm and inviting. Beautifully decorated with a great atmosphere and historic background.

Everything about Ghan House is special
That I had to go home after just one night!
Beautifully upkept 300 year old house. We were made very welcome on our arrival, personally shown to our room, and given a good recommendation for dinner as most of the higher end restaurants are closed on a Tuesday. The room was gorgeous, very comfortable & I couldn't resist taking a bath in the claw foot tub. Lovely local made bath products provided. The breakfast was scrumptious! My husband, a bit of a foodie, is still talking about the smoked fish and the prunes soaked in Earl Grey Tea and cinnamon! Our only regret is that we only had one night there. Thank you, Orla! We will be back. 😊
That we only had one night to spend there!
Breakfast was excellent, especially the home made breads
The house is decorated and furnished more like a home than a hotel. It is very comfortable. The staff are very friendly. Great bed. Lots of hot water. Beautiful breakfast.

I needed a break and I got one, the hotel is first class in it's service and it's location. I'll definitely be back
I was only there for two nights 😢
The ambience; the room, the delicious food, the proximity to Carlingford
Roast potatoes not roasted enough, tasteless parsnips with the beef, the Croatian red wine, everything else was perfect!
It was our second trip there and we can’t wait to go back.
Family friendly, very clean, the breakfast was excellent, the room was spotless and wonderful.

Fantastic quiet location, a gorgeous property literally a stone's throw from the centre of Carlingford, and a genuine warm welcome from owner Paul.
The breakfast had homemade breads, jam and the pears were so good that I asked for the recipe and the chef gave it to me. Loved how historical the B&B was A little hard to find the entrance but that might be GPS fault
The best!
Amazing time at this wonderful property. Only one night but we will be back
The whole property was delightful. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, the view of the gardens and light music playing on arrival, just idyllic! Delicious breakfast, fresh local & homemade ingredients. Will absolutely stay here again!!
Had a great wee night away for my husband's birthday. Room spotless and bed very comfortable and breakfast was excellent will definitely be back.
That we didn't stay longer.
Clean, welcoming, amazing location , great breakfast.
Loved it all!!!
Walking distance into village
We enjoyed the historic house and gardens and the breakfast was up there with the best we ever had. The whole hotel was very clean and comfortable
Amazing place right in the heart of Carlingford. Clean, comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. This place was worth the money.
Nothing - it was great.
We had a very relaxing stay at Ghan House which really is an oasis of service and serenity .
From the minute I booked, the owner was helping me with directions and gave me an up to date weather forecast- it had been snowing quite heavily where I was travelling from. All the staff were good fun and interacted well with us
Huge room and bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Somewhat expensive for the time of year.
The bedroom was gorgeous, the single day bed in the rm was in beautiful sunshine for an hr at 4pm

Breakfast was amazing. The choice and quality was beyond words. The fresh breads were absolutely gorgeous.
The bar was too small not inviting to have more than just a drink before dinner. Facilities finished very early.
Breakfast was a splendid feast! Granola, Meusli, Yoghourt, Jams and Bread all home made. Sitting room with a roaring fire, and loads of books to read. An extensive superior wine list, and of course the draught Guinness!

The scenery

Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. The bars and shops were walking distance. Ghan House was first rate.

Breakfast was lovely, lots of choices, great attention given to local suppliers.
No complaints.
History, decor, food, closeness to town, natural beauty of area, staff friendliness, hosts were first rate!
Lovely Georgian property. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms. We were meant to be meeting friends there but their flight from UK was cancelled at the last minute. Paul kindly waived the room charge.

Tranquil and peaceful location in the heart of the village. Lovely views. Delicious food. Great to taste homemade produce.
Wow this property and the town of Carlingford exceeded our expectations
What an absolute treat it was to stay here. It is a beautiful setting with gardens and the pond and our room was gorgeous. Ten out of ten for everything, cleanliness, linen, bed, bath, breakfast (amazing), staff and ambience. We will most certainly be back! Unfortunately we couldn't book dinner there as we stayed on a Monday but had a lovely restaurant recommended. We will be booking in for a dinner package next time, can't wait!
Honestly, we have zero criticism!
Everything at Ghan house was exceptional. The room, the furnishings, the grounds and the breakfast were top notch. We were sad to only stay one night! The staff were so accommodating and helpful too.
Wonderful hotel, comfortable room, great staff - plus an amazing breakfast. Stay here!
Beautiful setting. Very comfortable and relax

We all enjoyed our breakfast
The friendly welcome hotel surroundings and hotel itself a style completely unique to any other we've stayed in carlingford
Cannot fault this hotel exceptional
Spectacular staff, amazing food and you can’t get a better location. Beds were very comfortable and water was hot, breakfast made to order and a great selection of fruit, yogurt toast and juice in addition to the main breakfast. The little extras give this place have a special charm that will stay in your memories forever.
Not a thing it was a beautiful place .
Historic ambience of property and location.
Some ongoing repair work re flood damage October 2023 but did not impact significantly on stay.
Had a wonderful time at Ghan House. The rooms were super comfortable and clean. Beds were to die for! Lovely roll top bath to soak in; the only slight criticism is that the bath water could have been a bit hotter. The breakfast was amazing. Great choice and wonderful local produce. Highly recommend the eggs and salmon and granola and yogurt with fruit. Owners were friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. Would be back in a flash!
