Excellent service by all the staff. Especially the service by Nishantha and the staff at the restaurant and bar was outstanding. It was my second time staying in this hotel, will definitely go back again.

An exceptional hotel and a wonderful stay. Our room was beautiful, spacious and extremely comfortable, and the entire hotel was very well maintained. The food was excellent, with a fantastic variety and plenty of choices to suit different tastes. Everything we tried was fresh, well presented and delicious. The facilities were also excellent. The pool was warm, clean and a great size, making it a perfect place to relax, and the hotel has a well-equipped gym with everything needed for a good workout. The location was terrific. It is conveniently close to the airport, while still being far enough away that we weren’t disturbed by aircraft noise. It was also an easy trip into Negombo and well positioned for visiting the various attractions in and around the area. What really stood out, however, was the staff. Everyone we encountered was friendly, professional and genuinely eager to help, making us feel very welcome throughout our stay. Vivanta Colombo, Airport Garden exceeded our expectations and provided an excellent combination of comfort, facilities, food, service and location. We would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it.

The proximity to airport

The customer service was not great. The staff was not at all accomodating about our needs as guests. An early check-in was requested as I was travelling with a four year old child, which was denied. So we agreed to pay for an extra night. Once in room where we wanted some rest, we were called twice to come down to lobby to pay for extra day as if it couldn't wait. So we checked-in at 4am, all exhausted from an overnight flight, now dealing with phone calls. Our original booking was to start at 12pm same day. But considering the lack of basic hospitality and courtesy, we cancelled. Now check-out was 2pm. At 2pm, we requested an hour late check-out, again denied. So we stayed a total of 8hrs to sleep most of it with two phone calls to break that well needed rest for a payment which could have easily been done at a later time, followed by no courtesy of any sort for any of our requests. Upon bringing this up, the response was very casual with zero empathy. Was not a very ideal start to a great vacation. I wish the staff was more empathetic and courteous.

We stayed at Vivanta Garden Hotel for a few hours while in transit through Colombo. It is a beautiful hotel set in a large, peaceful green garden, just about 10 minutes from the airport. The hotel is very clean, well organized, and has a relaxing atmosphere. All the staff were warm, welcoming, and friendly, making our short stay very comfortable. I would especially like to mention Raini, who was exceptionally kind and hospitable. She went above and beyond to help us and made us feel truly welcome. Her excellent service deserves special appreciation. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Colombo, especially travelers, looking for a comfortable place to stay close to the airport. It is an excellent choice for both short transit stays and longer visits.

It's a good hotel. All requests were fulfilled quickly. Our room view was beautiful. Beds comfortable. Cot provided was bed level which was fantastic. Location is close to hotel and a marketplace outside. Breakfast was sufficient and various.

The property seemed a little old. There was a smell in the corridors because of the humidity but not in the rooms.

It was a great experience. Hotel is quite and clean. Sandeepa, who was hosting us in breakfast was so kind and helping. All staff was so kind actually and friendly.

Relatively close to the airport if that is important to you. Tried calling the reception and the duty manager multiple times from the room, no answer ever. When I went down I brought it to their attention. No apology just blank faces. Ordered a pork chop and asked for broccoli instead of potatoes or rice. Was told not available but could be substituted by cauliflower. Then got some wilted salad leaves. No dressing, no tomatoes, just wilted leaves. Finally after some debate I got Cauliflower. Then had some unidentifiable something on my plate. The chef then came to identify it and proceeded to put his fingers on my plate to taste. Mortified. How do these places survive? Is bad and mediocre the new norm? Or is their guests profile just so bad that no standard is acceptable? On check out they even charged service charge for bad service. After complaining about everything the duty manager refunded me but only the service charge. Dismal performance by an incompetent staff team.

The hotel is right next to the airport, yet they charge $15 for a 10-minute taxi transport — a complete ripoff by Sri Lankan standards. Because the property sits away from the main road, guests cannot simply get their own taxi, especially with luggage. You are basically forced to use the hotel’s taxi transport, and they take full advantage of it. Rooms are okay, but the sound insulation in my room was poor and I could hear almost everything from the corridor and neighboring rooms, making it difficult to sleep. Breakfast was also not included despite the high room price. An uncomfortable incident happened in the morning when a staff member opened my room door without knocking or ringing first while I was in bed. Because the bed is positioned directly next to the entrance, he was instantly standing right beside my bed looking down at me while I was lying there in my pajamas. Because he was holding the door open, people walking through the corridor could also directly look at me lying there in my pajamas from close range. Completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. Overall, the hotel may look decent at first glance, but the poor privacy standards, expensive taxi transport, and weak value for money made this a disappointing stay. Not recommended, and I will not stay here again.

Food : 3/5, Not as expected compared to Indian Taj. Limited veg options and not tasty. We requested meal preference on email also earlier and also told during check in but during breakfast when we didn't get veg option and Jain options, talked to Indian chef but she wasn't informed, so it was communication gap between customer care team and restaurant staff. Rest everything was good. We just stayed overnight, arrived late night around 1am.

Convenient for the airport and nice gardens with lots of birds. The Chinese restaurant was nice.

Not as advertised. Old & tired and no tennis courts, bath robes, mini bar or airport shuttle as advertised. Oh and frequent power cuts. Yes it is handy for the airport but it is a $15 transfer in a hotel car for a 10 minute journey.

Location, room ok, Lobby cafe made good espresso coffee. Room was modern, everything worked.

There is no shade by the large pool so we're unable to use it, the pool was the reason we chose the hotel. Also a lot of tiny red ants crawling around by the pool. An attractive area but cannot stay by the pool because NO shade/ants. Had to wait for a flight the next day but were unable to relax by the pool which was the whole plan. Very simple fix. Move the chairs, add shade. Nobody on duty by the pool, not able to get refreshments. Buffet food was ok but not great.

We returned to Sri Lanka only one night passing thru Colombo. The Vivante was close to the airport, they arranged transport from/to the airport that was reasonable and convenient. The room was spacious and immaculate, very comfortable. There were several dining options which was easy for us as well. All the staff was friendly and helpful.

Just a so so overpriced hotel with ridiculously expensive buffets ($30 USD/person for dinner was the DISCOUNTED price offered to us if we purchased during check-in!) Room was musty. Air Conditioning could not seem to be shut off even if you set it to heat. Bed and pillow were very comfortable. Shower was nice and hot. Packed breakfast ordered at checkout was a severe disappointment. It was not ready and ten minutes after checkout it still hadn't arrived. We were getting in our taxi when they rushed it to us. They sure ripped us off on this. We paid for the amazing breakfast buffet with our reservation and our packed breakfast was a tiny chicken salad sandwich, two tiny mini muffins and an apple. What a pathetic insult it was that they even offered this service.

I had a very peaceful and enjoyable stay at Vivanta Colombo. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout.Special thanks to Duty Manager Deshan, who went above and beyond to assist us especially with our flight booking and ensured we were always comfortable. his outstanding service will definitely bring us back. Stayed one night (this was because our flights had been re-arranged by our airline and they organised the accommodation close to the airport). Pleasant check-in and shown our room (102). Hotel seemed very quiet for mid evening ie we didn’t see anyone. Bedroom curtains were closed when we got to our bedroom. After a few minutes we pulled the curtains open to find…… a window that wasn’t a window - it was completely “frosted” so there was NO WINDOW to look out of! There was also a sign saying the window was not open-able!!! “PLEASE DO NOT FORCE OPEN AS THE WINDOW IS LOCKED” indeed it wasn’t open-able because o tried to open it). See photos This was very worrying so we rang the hotel reception and they confirmed that the window was blocked up. Never in all our years of travelling around the world have I had a bedroom window that was frosted up and non-openable!!! Why would a hotel do this to a window?? And why would a hotel give a room to a guest? Therefore, if there was a fire in the corridor and we needed to escape via the window we couldn’t!!!! This is very serious. Reception advised that there was no other rooms available!! I didn’t believe this but that is what they told us. Later that evening I checked and according to the hotels’ own website that infact there was a variety of rooms available. The room had also only been set up for one person so they had to bring more towels. It wasn’t especially clean. The en-suite was very small. Breakfast was ok but I ordered an omelette and requested four ingredients (tomato, mushroom etc), the chef repeated them back to me… when it came to the table it only had one item!! The restaurant was fairly quiet again suggesting that the hotel was definitely not full. Guests are alllowed to smoke on the covered semi-outside area to eat breakfast therefore we sat inside - who wants to be sat next to someone smoking when eating breakfast?? We cannot comment on other aspects of this hotel as didn’t use any other facility in the time we had. The lack of a functioning bedroom window is a very major problem for the reasons stated above not least of all safety in case of fire and for this reason staying at this hotel should be avoided

Where do I start…perhaps after a 6 hour drive we arrived to a very slow checkin where the reception did not believe we had a car transfer included in our booking. 10 minutes later after phone calls he agreed that we did. We were taken to our room where the key would not open the door, after a second trip to reception and a new key it also did not work. Along comes the repairman who then says we have to stay in our room and wait 1/2 hr for the engineer to come. All so we could get a key. The room itself is large with tachy decor, a large bathroom with a very small vanity. No bath. The noise from an aircraft slices the air outside our window (little to no soundproofing), although the air conditioning in the room is loud enough to override any sound, not to mention the fact that it blows directly onto your face when your asleep (had to turn off). There is a master switch for lights that overrides every light including a night light to use the bathroom ~ all lights or no lights. The hotel purports to be relatively new, however there is ‘pretend’ security at the front of a soulless foyer. Really this hotel is a disaster from every aspect which includes bed quality. It is clean but definitely not value for money. We were thankful it was only a transit stay. Also the power point for international travellers are based (I think) on Indian two prong points (Sri Lanka 3 prong) hence unable to use the one by the bed (no continual power) had to move devices elsewhere in the room.

The staff I met there was kind, friendly, and committed to making my stay comfortable and memorable. They made me feel truly at home. The room was clean, beautiful, and incredibly comfortable. It’s the kind of space that brings a sense of peace, especially when traveling solo. This was my second stay within the year, I had stayed here in October 2025 and I can confidently say that I’ve found my second home. There’s something special about a place that makes you feel both welcomed and remembered. That's exactly how I left here. This will be my go‑to hotel every time I plan a solo trip. Front office : good services at check-in and check-out , accepted payments by card or cash. Special thanks to front office manager mister Sudheera , being very helpful for organizing our 2 weeks extension at the hotel because of the Middle East war. Room 621 : luxury room having a bathtub and shower , kingbed, free safety deposit box , splendid view on Negombo Lagoon and landing airplanes. Housekeeping was excellent , regularly refreshed linen , clean room , evening service. Congratulations to the housekeeping team. Restaurant : gorgeous breakfast ( hoppers , herbal soup , oats , curries , fresh fruit , local and Indian dishes , cold starters , bread...). We opted for lunch at noon. Excellent soups , cold starters , a choice of warm dishes , fresh fruit and cakes. High quality kitchen. Bar : we always took a pot of tea , twice a day at the Swirl bar. Great choice of teas , Excellent professional services by bartenders misters Tuan and Logesh. A special mention for the impressive and very beautiful hotel garden where we walked many times around. Perfect and punctual taxi service by the hotel to the Airport.

The staff at the reception desk were friendly and courteous. Bandara one of the staff took my luggage to the room and adjusted the room temperature to my liking. While leaving Nissakna helped with my luggage, polite and friendly always. At the restaurant, Shalomi helped me with filling and refilling my plate as I had a crutch due to a recent operation. She brought whatever I asked for to the table, always cheerful, suggesting dishes I might like. In the evening, Chethiya, Movindu and Upali, helped me with various requests, again were always friendly and courteous. The food both times were excellent.

Hotel was close to the airport but not noisy, set in wonderful quiet grounds, ideal for an evening walk away from the mad traffic! We had a room on the 3rd floor, very spacious with a good sized bathroom. Shower was excellent! Breakfast was buffet style and lots of choice. We ate in both restaurants and had good meals both times. The swimming pool was large, clean and there were very few people there! Changing rooms were close by the pool so you didn't have to wander through the hotel in swimming gear and there was a gym next door. Denzil from the tour desk gets our particular thanks! He arranged a tour of Negombo for us and while we were out, he sorted out our return flights for us, as we had explained that our original return flights had been cancelled. The manager, the reception staff and the duty manager, Chaya were all wonderful and helpful. Thank you everyone!

They have a buffet and a Chinese Restaurant that were both open for our choice for dinner. We left very early for the airport so missed sany breakfast opportunity. This is very close to the airport.

Hôtel very noisy : you can expect plane noises but not only. Because most of the airplanes crew sleep in this hotel, rooms are cleaned up during the night too. We have been waking up at 4am by someone cleaning up the room next door when we actually arrived late at night. There was plenty of Moscitos in our room also. Also breakfast is very late (not before 7am) … surprisingly for a hotel so close to airport.

A mixed experience. The entrance is lovely with palm trees, but the hotel doesn’t match the photos online. The check-in staff seemed disinterested, though the bellhop was friendly, and juice, cookies, and fruit upon arrival were appreciated. The hotel is basic and in need of updates. The bed was comfortable, but the furniture had dings and scratches, the couch had stains, and there was mold on the window covering. Hallways on our non-smoking floor smelled faintly of stale cigarettes. Dinner was excellent, and all restaurant staff were helpful, though breakfast lacked flavor. Okay for a short stay near the airport.

The hotel has ok facilities (in line with expectations) and it is close to the airport. If offer food variety even if the quality is ok. Staff is kind.

Given the cancellation of flights to Dubai because of the attack to Iran from March 1st they started increasing the prices and taking off availability from online comparison websites. In our case they increased price by 20% and it was possible to book only through them. They were profiting of the situation so we decided to leave for another hotel.

Came in for a night, the atmosphere was great as it was the opposite of the busyness outside the hotel location. The room was good and had everything I needed from a tiring day. Great value for money for all that you get, the cleanliness, low noise level and its various amenities. But outy of everything, the service was really good as everyone was helpful and cheerful. We had dinner at the buffet and our server CHETHIYA was the most helpful and looked very smart with his uniform.

Check in was smooth, and they provided us with a nice welcome drink. Room was comfortable with all facilities that you would expect, including safe, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and complimentary water. We noticed a slight smell in the corridor and just inside the room but this went away once the AC was on. Breakfast buffet opens at 700am and was fine. Lots of airline crew use the hotel which must mean it's pretty good. Only 10 minutes ride to the airport.

We had a very comfortable stay prior to an early flight. The lovely staff noticed it was my birthday and our room was upgraded. The very kind restaurant manager, Mr Ranawaka, surprised me with a cake and even sang Happy Birthday to me. I was touched - such level of personal service is unusal in an 'airport-style' hotel.

Airport hotel only i would say. Nothing much around the area and i tried but probably 30 mins away from decent food. Food ok in the buffet so stayed in the end but its a one night place. Rooms very good and everyone friendly. outside areas and bars lack any atmosphere or care.

We are staying in this hotel on our last night of a 12 day holiday in Sri Lanka. After a great holiday it is so disappointing. We booked 2 rooms as a family booking 8 months ago yet we have been split across 2 wings and can’t access each other due to the security in the lift. Then we tried to order food, after waiting 45 minutes, for a cheese platter, there was no sign. No idea when it would arrive so two of us went to bed hungry. Even trying to speak to a manager was not possible and reception were no help. The pictures on the web are very deceptive and do not reflect the disappointing standard of the hotel. Strongly advise you avoid.

I had a very pleasant stay here. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety and the overall service met my expectations. The social facilities were more than sufficient and well maintained. I would also like to especially mention the intern who assisted us during our stay. Shalom:) She was extremely enthusiastic, hardworking and always greeted guests with a warm smile! The staff were exceptional and made our stay absolutely wonderful! The concierge arranged a car and driver to take us on tours for two of the four days we stayed with them and the hotel kitchen even packed us a breakfast because we had to leave very early for our safari. The food was great and having 24-hour room service was reassuring and well-used! I would love to stay with them again!

De plus surs la réservation il était sensé avoir 15% sur la nourriture et les boissons, hors je n'ai Pas eu cette remise sur les deux paiements que j'ai effectué pour des prestations au restaurant de l'hotel;

The person who checked me gave me zero information. When I asked if there was anything else to know she said "um, like what". I had to figure out all food options for the evening and next morning with no help. The website site did not say that the airport shuttle was an additional cost, $15 US. The bar service was terrible. I requested to sit outside and the staff forgot I was there. I ordered drinks, the wine didn't come till the meal and the water never arrived. The food was served without the proper utensils and the room was took dark to see anything on the plate. I would not stay here again.
