Lovely quiet stay here the night before travelling home. Good location for transfer to the airport, not sure what is available to do around the hotel as we stayed in the hotel. Staff were great, food great, loved the swimming pool and even used the gym.

Room look outdated. Restaurant serve plenty of local food and the Hospitality was great. Its clean everywhere. good stay

We recently held my sister's wedding reception at this hotel, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. From the very beginning until the end of the event, everything was handled with such professionalism, warmth and care. A very special thank you goes to Ms. Nimesha, who was truly exceptional throughout the entire planning process. As our family lives abroad, organizing a wedding from another country could have been incredibly stressful. However, she made the entire experience so smooth and worry-free. Communication with her was always easy, she responded promptly to every question, accommodated our requests with so much flexibility, and guided us through every step of the planning process. Her advice while selecting the menu and organizing the finer details was invaluable, and it was clear that she genuinely wanted the event to be perfect for us. On the day of the reception, we encountered a few unexpected challenges, but Ms. Nimesha immediately stepped in and resolved everything without hesitation. She took a tremendous amount of stress off our shoulders, allowing our family to simply enjoy the celebration. Knowing she was there gave us complete peace of mind, and we never once doubted that everything was under control. She deserves immense credit for making the reception such a success. Her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care went far beyond what we expected, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she did. Quite honestly, she played a huge role in making the day as beautiful and memorable as it was. We would also like to commend the entire hotel team. The hospitality was outstanding, the staff were attentive and courteous, the food was absolutely delicious, and the service throughout the evening was impeccable. We had my brother’s wedding at Regenta Arie Lagoon and booked 4 of their villas during the weekend. The property is fabulous, plenty of garden space to enjoy evening walks and with a beautiful lagoon view where we held the outdoor wedding setup. The staff are super helpful, from the front office, restaurant, housekeeping & maintenance. They were all super supportive and quick to respond to the inquiries we had. A special thank you to Ms. Nimesha who handled our event. She was extremely easy to communicate with and flexible when there were changes from our end. The service we received during the event and during our stay was phenomenal, and we were happy throughout. The location and service is value for money for the price we were charged. The rooms were clean and even though we had a full on wedding by the lagoon with the band playing music, our daughter slept like a log in the room. They also followed strict regulations not to have loud music after 11PM, which ensured all guests were happy. All in all, it was an absolute pleasure to stay at Regenta Arie Lagoon. One small request though, perhaps in the future if the management can consider allowing guests to bring their pet dogs, even with a charge would be superb. So we can enjoy future stays more without missing our four legged child!

We had our wedding ceremony, including our traditional Poruwa ceremony and registration, at Arie Lagoon, and we truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Only stayed one night but the rooms were clean, a variety of foods for breakfast, service was excellent, lovely grounds with a small pool.

Tus place is very peaceful and ver nice. The service is excellent. Also there is a guy called rajith who is very helpful. So you have no problems coming here.

We had an amazing Aurudu event in Arie Lagoon recently. Pleasure to say, the staff was very friendly. Specially I would like to mention Nimesha, she was the key for success our event. Food was also delicious and that credit must goes for head chef. Highly recommended their venue for you any office occasions.

We had our company Awurudu function at Regenta Arie Lagoon and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The venue was beautiful, well organized, and perfect for our event. The staff were friendly, supportive, and ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the function. Food quality was excellent, and the overall atmosphere made the celebration memorable for everyone. Hello! I am Alexandria. I came to this hotel on March 5th, the last day of our trip, to stay at this hotel. In the morning, I left the key in my room and came out, so the room was locked. I went to the reception to open it, explained my problem and when I went back to the room, I tripped and fell and hurt my head. At that time, there was a person at the reception, he was very busy, but he came and picked me up and brought me to my room.. He put medicine on my head and helped me very kindly.. I asked his name, he said his name is Nihan!. I thank him very much for his good service🥰. Also, the food in this hotel is very delicious 🤤. Also, the loud music until 2:00 AM made it a big problem to sleep. But it was a hotel that provided good service. I love this place ❤️✨

This place was OK for one night. The pool was lovey.food was great which was good for our first night in Sri Lanka. Rooms a little dated

The hotel was a long way from the town and shops, thou this was our fault due to lack of research. Breakfast was ok but not amazing.

The room was lovely, bed very comfortable and small terrace equipped with 2 chairs and table was nice. Well maintained grounds and property. Reception staff were fabulous and the welcome was great.

After a fraught journey we went straight to the restaurant for an early lunch and coffee. The service was not good and the food really disappointing. It felt very disorganised. We could not charge our food to the room and waited 20 minutes to pay. The waiter came to our room for the cash payment, charged us the wrong amount then came back for the balance. Left me feeling distrusted and this felt quite disorganised and unprofessional. The fridge/mini-bar in the room was locked and we had to wait a few hours for a staff member to unlock it. The offering of coffee in the room was sparse and we had to request more.

Thank you specifically to Nimesha and the rest of the staff for their warm welcome and hospitality and the effort put to arrange according for our requirements....food was very good...a wide range of variety....and the hotel premises were clean and the spacious garden and flowers gave us a very relaxing tranquil feeling as well . special thanks to Nimesha...

We conducted a 3 week tour of Sri Lanka and were fortunate enough to stay at the Arie Lagoon, Negombo, for 2 nights. We wanted to say a big thank you to all of the staff who couldn’t have done any more to make us feel so welcome. The cleanliness of the rooms, the quality of the food and the attentiveness of all of the staff we encountered were all first class. The variety of both the Western and Sri Lankan cuisines on offer, were of the highest quality and would more than satisfy the most discerning of customers. Thank you for making our visit so special and we wish you every success for the future.

Spaciously laid out in well kept gardens. Quite an oasis from the bustle of Negombo and about thirty to forty minutes from Colombo airport. Bar food and buffet food both fine - good choice and quality yet not ‘stand out’. We found the wine to be pricey and not very palatable. Rooms were comfortable, relatively spacious and clean. Would return.

This hotel surprised me. Colonial system but with modern facilities. The staff were superb. Rooms very spacious and clean. Very good food. And the location... next to a lagoon. Creates calm atmosphere.

Pleasant welcoming on arrival. Lovely well kept gardens. Room was clean but a little tired. Bathroom and shower were in an outside secluded area which was quite a novelty. Quality of the food was disappointing. Lovely pool however some of the decking around it required maintenance as there were unsafe loose boards. Large amount of crows regularly visit the swimming pool for bathing. The beach across the road from the hotel was not nice at all, littered with rubbish and not safe to take a dip.

Only stayed one night on our Riviera Tour as it's not far from the airport, but lovely huge rooms or rather 'bungalows' in a quiet setting but if you walk down to the pool you have beautiful views over the lagoon.

Lovely pool with views over the lagoon but the decking let in down as needed replacing. Lovely spacious rooms and restaurant good.and they cooked fresh as well as buffet style. Safe battery was low and wasn’t replaced when asked. Staff generally very helpful.

Excellent wedding service & venue

We stayed here for one night, for the proximity to the airport. On first appearance it looks fabulous. The grounds are well tended and everything is neat. We arrived after a busy day on safari and needed a shower. There was no power in our bathroom. After telling reception, and being asked if we had put the key in the electric slot, a technician came and thumped around the slot until the lights worked. The room itself was lovely, spacious, bed comfy and shower was good. The food was a problem for me as it was all too spicy. My Husband loves hot food, but he wasn't overly impressed either. Breakfast wasn't very good. Cold baked beans, half warmed hot dog sausages. The man cooking fried totally ignored us. I managed to get an omelette, but that chef didn't speak either. My husband thought he'd have a croissant from the sweet shelf, and was very surprised when it contained a sausage!

We had a great time in Regenta Ari Lagoon, their food was great and friendly staff and cooperative,I would recommend for a family outings.

Relaxing and tranquil garden areas

The gym equipment didn’t work- all looks very nice in the window 2 treadmills a cross trainer and a bike. However the two treadmills and cross trainer didn’t work. Reception sent a maintenance guy in and he also couldn’t get them to go.

Nice spacious pools, very pretty grounds and a nice view of the lake from the main restaurant/pool area. The room was comfortable with everything we needed. We checked in early and checked out late, and the staff were very welcoming of us using the facilities whilst we waited.

Some machines in the gym didn't work which was a shame. Lounging at the pool the drink service and making card payments was a little slow but the drinks were made very nicely so maybe this took the time.

Cleanliness

Room was really outdated, I don’t think this hotel is 4 star hotel, maybe 2 or 3 stars. Also staffs are not very friendly, didn’t provide help for luggage etc.

The room is absolutely not worth the price, the furniture, finishes, etc. are extremely cheap. When I arrived the hotel didn't receive my booking and had to wait 1 hour before getting the room. In the afternoon there was quite some rubbish in the common areas (in the morning it has been cleaned up), the infinity pool is beautiful but there are just a few beach loungers available, the wood around the pool is about to break and it's in terrible conditions. Overall, there is a big lack of care of the facilities. It needs A LOT of restoration and improvement for the price they charge.

Staff was friendly. Breakfast was decent. Loved the big shower. Rooms was spacious.

Although we checked in at 6pm our room was not ready.After flying for 24hours to wait for the room was not great. Power was tripping for about 10min. Aircon was loud, music was loud till 10.30pm. Fortunately we stayed only one night. Rooms were dimly lit. Lights the bathroom was not working.

Spent one night at this hotel after our long flight. Was a busy hectic drive from airport due to roadworks taking approx 45 mins/one hour. We were very glad we weren’t driving! Nice welcome at hotel with small drink and cooling face towel. Staff friendly, room large, clean and well appointed. Has swim up poolside bar and large restaurant with wide range of food options. Massage/beauty treatments available and very well priced. We had a fantastic foot/leg massage which was very rejuvenating after our long flight

Wonderful hospitality, lovely property with a relaxed casual feel. After a week trekking through the mountains, this relaxation was exactly what was needed! The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and amazing with our needs. Our daughter helped mixup cocktails and make jelly which she gracefully handed out to the hotel staff. Excellent service overall. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well designed - we had a family deluxe room close to the large pool. The grounds and pool are kept in pristine condition, even after the huge downfall of rain.

The room and facilities require a lot of repair and maintenance. Lighting and power sockets didn't work. Coffee machine broken and pool decking was broken and dangerous.

The hotel has wonderful staff who are amazing. The hotel is old and needs alot of repairs but it is comfortable. No shops near the hotel which is difficult

The room has insects I had to harsh too much room had a serious issue with insects, which caused a lot of discomfort and constant scratching throughout my stay. This definitely affected the overall experience. I hope the hotel addresses this problem soon, as it has the potential to offer a much better stay

We had the most relaxing stay here. The rooms were huge and clean with a great shower and very comfortable beds. The food was delicious especially the crab curry. Arie Lagoon is a well organised hotel, with a beautiful garden. I enjoyed the food a lot because there is a lot of variety. I felt very welcome, especially because of Kelum and his team.

It was truly excellent. The hotel and the room exceeded my expectations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Kelum is a wonderful man who makes you feel truly welcome. The food made me feel overwhelmed, but in a good way: so much and so delicious. Anura is a true chef who knows how to pamper people. Unfortunately, I was only there for one night, but I will definitely be back. And I highly recommend this hotel.

We had à nice overnight stay before flying. The staff was very accommodating by facilitating a late checkout free of charge. We enjoyed the nice gardens and view on the water. Kalum from the front office was especially kind.

We initially had a very good impression of Regenta Arie Lagoon after contacting the banquet and sales manager. He was extremely friendly and helpful, and we were impressed by the attractive nett rates and well-priced packages he offered. The hotel’s social media shows a beautiful venue, especially the garden and lagoon areas, which seem perfect for weddings and other gatherings. However, these photos focus mainly on the outdoor spaces and don't reflect the overall condition of the hotel. When we visited the property, it felt more like a 2 or 3-star hotel. The service standard was not what we expected. Although we had a prior appointment with the banquet and sales manager, he was unavailable and instead sent another staff member, someone who appeared to be from the maintenance team to show us around. We want to be clear that we have no issue with the person who helped us. He was very polite, and we are not saying he wasn’t good enough for us in any way. However, he simply wasn’t equipped to answer the important questions we had regarding wedding planning. That kind of guidance should come from the banquet and sales manager, who has the proper knowledge to help us. The garden was the only well-maintained part of the property. Leading to the ballroom, the wooden staircase was badly scratched and damaged. The walls had large blotches and marks, the wallpaper was peeling off, the pathway to the ballroom had visible footprints and many areas of the carpet in the ballroom were torn. It was quite disappointing, especially since Regenta Arie Lagoon is part of Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd. The hotel has so much potential, particularly as a destination wedding venue, but it’s clearly in need of better upkeep and more honest representation. This review is not written to insult or damage the hotel’s reputation. It is shared out of genuine concern for couples who live in other far off districts or overseas, who might make a booking based solely on the attractive packages, friendly communication, and beautiful social media content without visiting the venue in person. We hope this helps others make a more informed decision.

Beautiful facility with relaxing atmosphere. Rooms were clean and staff were friendly courteous and helpful. Close to the beach. Sunrise at lagoon and sunset at the beach were a treat.

Rooms are cozy with AC, though balconies lack drying space. Lush greenery and a commemorative tree enhance the scenic setting. The spacious lakeside restaurant provides quick service and basic English communication.

It was the best place. As a plane spotter, I got many opportunities to capture many planes. I recommend this hotel to every plane spotter, it was comfortable and it was fun staying here. And specially the food was great and you get a nice view in the night.

Breakfast was a bit limited on selections compared with our previous hotel stays. Mini bar locked and had to asked for it to be unlocked to get a drink. Could do with a welcome pack or details in the room about where everything is located. Check out took longer than necessary.
