Nice, clean and big rooms with almost new furniture/ fittings. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and very close to the mall and restaurants.

We had a wonderful time at Novotel Leicester. What we liked the most: - Newley built building, clean - Friendly and helpful reception team - Spacious room - Comfortable bed - Very good breakfast

I would say the room description is a bit ambiguous: it says "…includes a private bathroom with a bath, a shower and…", when actually it's "a bath or a shower". The reception team was very helpful in finding us a room with a bath, which we preferred.

Extremely comfortable and very a great weekend all round. Friendly and helpful staff.

Booked a room but when I came they said there wasn't one available so they booked a room at another hotel. The night manager offered me a refund as it was a mistake on their part but another manager later emailed me overturning it and refused to honour the refund.

Was a beautiful stay and made it memorable evening

The staff were all amazing. Especially the restaurant manager. She made our meal and stay extra special and nothing was too much trouble for her. She was perfect and an absolute asset to the hotel.

The breakfast could be better quality in places. Especially the hot buffet.

Rooms not ready on time. After a very long drive we want rest in out room. Eventually both rooms booked were ready but one was suppose to be a twin so had to wait for it to be sorted. Used the lift a couple of times and everytime there was rubbish in them. Checkout is 12 noon. After a little walk we got back around 11.15 to find out they'd stop our room door access. Thankfully the cleaners let us in. Trying to kick guests out before checkout time is not acceptable. As a disabled person I went to use the ground floor disabled toilet which was unusable due to being very dirty from the last user so left and struggled with the mainstream women's toilets. Also whe when checking out there was no "was everything ok" or ""how was your stay"

Rooms just didn’t feel clean. Bed linen was yellow stained. Not white. Smelt stale Carpets has lots of germs and bacteria. Was never deep cleaned. Should not have carpets in hotel rooms anyway. It sucks in germs. Which won’t come out with mere hoover. Towels smelt stale. Quite dirty most hotels in the UK. Uk is not a hygienic place. So the hotels will be stale and depressing too.

The overall cleanliness of the room was very disappointing and fell far below expectations. The carpet was noticeably dirty with visible stains, and the bed sheets and towels did not feel clean. Even worse, after using the towel to dry off, my skin developed severe redness and intense itching, which indicates a serious hygiene issue. I strongly urge the management to address these cleanliness standards immediately to prevent this from happening to future guests.

Lovely hotel with a very helpful receptionist, although we arrived over an hour earlier than the 3 o clock check in time the lovely receptionist rang through to housekeeping to see if any rooms were ready, one was so we were given our room straight away for which we were very grateful of after a long journey. Although the hotel is in the centre, once inside the noise from the traffic and the streets just disappears. Excellent location near bars restaurants and the very good Highcross Shopping Centre. St Margaret's bus station is just under 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

The cleanliness and location

The fact that I was told I can do a late checkout at a cost for every hour, I rang multiple times to sort this as I needed a late checkout as I came for a wedding and had a toddler so we needed to get ready, hence the late checkout. Only for them to tell me on the day.. they cant and the latest they can do is 1pm. And this forced me to book another night when I didnt need to. So i spent an extra £80 and I didnt even stay the night at the hotel due to work next day. I complained to the reservations team & they only offered to give me a ‘discounted’ stay for next time which is pathetic. The customer service needs improving and staff need more adequate training.

I stay at the Novotel Leicester frequently and it is my preferred hotel when I am visiting Leicester. The staff are exemplary. Over the past two weeks I have had a frictionless welcome in reception from Stacy, Pratik and Ammol and the usual high value customer service from the team in the restaurant; Indi, Adam, Luke and Rhian to name a few. In addition to the warmest of welcomes are comfortable beds, quiet (must be soundproofed) rooms, great menu and plentiful buffet breakfast. They will always whip you up an omelette if you ask them, too. Location is very central to all shops, restaurants and cinema; has car park and is a 15 min walk from the train station. I genuinely cannot fault this hotel and It’s team and this is why I am leaving the review, as I am.

I had a very disappointing stay and would not recommend this hotel. Upon arrival, I was placed in an accessible room that I did not request. Throughout my stay, my privacy was repeatedly compromised by cleaners entering the room unexpectedly, and housekeeping was consistently scheduled as late as 1:30 PM. When I requested a room change, I was initially told it was not possible, and the eventual offer required me to check out at 12:00 PM and wait until 3:00 PM for a new room. Additionally, I was overcharged for parking on three separate occasions, being billed £10 for a full 24-hour period despite only using the facility for two hours each time. The level of service and attention to detail fell far below expectations.

Parking was a million miles away. Shower was over a steep bath with no hand rails or bath mat. Very dangerous for elderly people. We could not use the shower.

I am very unhappy with my stay. Issues included being placed in an unrequested accessible room, frequent privacy breaches by cleaning staff, and unhelpful management regarding a room change. Furthermore, I was overcharged for parking three times—charged for a full day when I only used it for two hours. The service was poor, and the solutions offered were highly inconvenient. I would not stay here again.

My recent stay was far from acceptable. Not only was I given the wrong room type, but I also dealt with constant, unexpected intrusions from housekeeping staff. The management was unhelpful when I requested a room change, offering an impractical solution that would have left me without a room for three hours. To make matters worse, there were recurring billing errors regarding parking; I was charged £10 for 24 hours on three separate occasions despite only using the car park for two hours. I am very dissatisfied with the lack of professionalism and the poor management of this property.

9.30am finish for breakfast is a bit early especially at weekends.

Stay would have been great but the air con in the room didn't work. we'd come back in late from a family party with a lot of dancing and really could have done with air con to help us sleep on a warm evening. reported to staff who attended promptly and suggested the air con would come on after a delay in the room card being inserted but it didn't. Thee member of staff also said that the technicians had restricted the air con fan to the lowest setting due to noise complaints but we couldn't get it to work at all

This is a clean, modern and fresh hotel with very friendly and obliging Staff both daytime and nights. My Wife and I had truly wonderful long-weekend in Leicester. The location of the Novotel is absolutely wonderful for a City Break in this Historic City Centre. You literally are a stones throw away (cross the road) from the Superb Highcross Centre (hundreds of shops, including a major John Lewis store; Excellent restaurants; De Lux Cinema complex, Gallery, Pubs and Casino are all on the doorstep). Furthermore, the historic medieval heart of Leicester is only another four minute stroll from the Novotel including: The Cathedral quarter, the famous Guildhall, the Leicester Lanes, Saint Mary Castro Church, Leicester Castle Gate and obviously the Richard 111 Visitor Centre (not to mention some more fantastic old pubs dating back hundreds of years). Also, the Roman Jewry wall and Baths Museum is just around the corner. We will definitely be going back, lots to see and do, a really buzzing friendly place that's easily missed and understated. The Novotel is definitely without a doubt the ideal location to base yourself and explore it all from. Thanks for making it a lovely stay.

I was upgraded to a Junior Suite and the room was exceptionally spacious, clean and comfortable. Despite being on a busy road there was no noise throughout the night and the location is great for a short walk into city centre. Check in/out was an easy process and it was useful to have the £10 parking for 24 hours as I was able to make use of this after checking out as well.
