Everything was perfect in every way from coffee machine to shower, air conditioner unit was great way keeping me cool. I will definitely stay here again.

We booked two rooms which were both immaculate. One room serviced the second day so a shout out to housekeepers who did a great job. Located opposite the cathedral and a few minutes from the centre.

There was nothing we did not like, if I had to be picky then the room did get quite warm but the fan provided was adequate to cool us down.

Lovely location in the cathedral environs. Clean and well appointed. Parking at the rear in a barrier protected public car park, but free for guests

The location of this place is excellent; you're right by the cathedral which is very convenient for the city. There's a secure car park right next to the lodge. The communication is also brilliant - you get a message detailing anything you might wish to know about how the car parking works, where to find it, etc. The room is nicely decorated, modern and clean.

We were staying for 3 nights, two of us, and there were only three coffee pods supplied which felt like a bit of a shame. Also I forgot where the check-in desk was (we'd stayed here a few years back) and it took me a while to remember where to go. It was included in the informational message about check in, but, a What3Words location would be useful to really set this in stone.

We had a fantastic stay at St Martins Lodge last night and honestly couldn’t fault it. The staff were absolutely lovely — friendly, welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. Our room was beautiful, comfortable and had everything we needed. The bed deserves a special mention because it was possibly one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in! 😍 We had a brilliant night’s sleep, helped by how lovely and quiet the hotel was. The location is also fantastic, right in the heart of Leicester, making it perfect for getting out and about while still feeling peaceful and relaxing when you’re back at the hotel. Overall, we had a really lovely stay and would definitely recommend St Martins Lodge. We’ll definitely be back! ❤️

The only downside was the curtains had little holes in so light was coming through and I love my room to be as dark as possible.

Perfect location in the city centre with added bonus of parking included. It was immaculately clean, extremely peaceful, with excellent security and near to the Cathedral and the Lanes.

Our room on the ground floor is beautifully designed but open plan so no door to the bathroom and no privacy for contemplation on the loo! Fine if you know someone exceptionally well.

Excellent location just next door to the Richard III visitor centre and cathedral. Quieter than city centre though only a few minutes walk to restaurants and bars. I had a lovely comfortable room with lots of space.

Double room beds were very small and uncomfortable for us as were the pillows. The room was very hot, the window didnt open much, there was a fan but it was very noisy. The view from the window was a brick wall. For me, I'm glad I didnt have a room with a bathroom without a door.

Room was open plan with a near ceiling high dividing wall, which meant the toilet was behind the wall from the bed's headboard with no door separating the two - so you could hear in great detail what anyone else was up to on the toilet. Great room other than the slightly unusual layout.

Such a friendly welcome to Leicester from reception. Really made me feel welcome. The room was fantastic in a really lovely (loveliest?) part of the city, the cathedral area which is really quite different to the rest of the city and possibly the best place to be based; close to all you would want to see. My stay in Leicester would have been very different if I chose a different place to stay as some are in shopping centres or near the football ground. Really liked the Lanes area and around the Lodge. Nice details in the room and one of the cleanest rooms I have stayed in, thanks to the behind the scenes staff. Thank you for the stay and look forward to returning some time.

The location was exceptional. Really quiet at night but our bedroom window was opposite the Cathedral. Woke up to the sound of bells which was lovely. Parking was included and easy to find right next to the hotel. Allowed us to stayed parked beyond check out time so we could get some brunch. All the corridors smelt lovely and everywhere was spotlessly clean. Mini fridge with water in the room and some fresh milk, biscuits and tea and coffee. Dyson fan which was great. Hot water and plentiful. Very nicely decorated

There was a glass shelf above the bathroom sink but it covered most of the sink so washing your face was impossible and even brushing your teeth was a bit tricky

The location was excellent - across the road from the cathedral and close to the King Richard III Visitor Centre and the Guildhall Museum. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. The secure private car park was very convenient. If we return to Leicester, we are very likely to stay there again.

St Martin's Lodge does not provide food, including breakfast. We knew that when we booked and it was not a problem. There are many nearby places that serve good breakfasts of all types; the staff at reception were very helpful with advice.

Central location with included car parking was ideal. Clear directions to the propery were good. Accomodation was comfortable and little touches like the welcome tray and bottled water were good additions.

We have stayed here lots of times and each time has been perfect. Comfy bed, very clean rooms, helpful staff, lovely toiletries and a very soft bathrobe. Rooms are beautifully decorated, and each is slightly different (we have stayed in 4 different ones now). Would definitely recommend.

No Wi-fi as advertised. When I contacted reception I was informed this was an on-going problem that had not been solved. Shower drain cover not in place but standing in corner of shower.

The furnishings and decor were of a very high standard. The location is excellent, right next to the Cathedral in Leicester city centre.

The room was so hot. We were provided with two large fans but they only reduced the heat in the room slightly. We were told that as it is a Georgian building the hotel is not permitted to install air-conditioning which we understand

My room was lovely with a view of the Cathedral gardens. The staff was friendly, and the location was ideal for downtown attractions. Very walkable to many places to eat and drink.

The fact that the registration desk is in another building across the street and the interior is labyrinthian might make it inaccessible for some guests, but that did not apply to me.

The quality of the accommodation was superb. The location was perfect for our plans to visit tbe King Richard III vistor centre and burial place in the cathedral. St Martins square was a bonus with lovely cafes and restaurants all on thr doorstep. Parking was a bonus too.

Due to heatwave room was very hot and windows had not been opened before arrival. No aircon and only a tower fan to cool room down. It was one of the cooler days in the heatwave so had windows been opened fan would have not been needed. Would have been unbearable if was one of the hot days in June. Room could do with paint maintenance in bathroom and on ceiling and cobwebs cleared in bathroom.

A nice hotel in the centre

This is one of the worst places I've ever stayed. Yes, it was hot over the last few days, but the rooms were 34 degrees inside. There was no ventilation, and the sash windows would not open more than 10 cm high. I could not create any ventilation in the room, so it was unbearable to sleep. They provided a fan, but all it did was blow hot air around. No air con, and no ventilation. I would not recommend staying here during the summer

This property is beautiful, and both my room and the bathroom were excellent. The room was very clean and well presented. I appreciated having a fridge stocked with water, as well as a tray with a lovely selection of teas and coffees, accompanied by some delicious biscuits. The location was excellent, and the receptionist was polite, friendly, and very helpful throughout my stay.

The only improvement I would suggest is installing air conditioning in the room. The weather was very hot yesterday, which made it difficult to sleep. Although a fan was provided, it was quite noisy and did not compensate for the lack of air conditioning.
