Princess Bayside Beach Hotel

Location is great. The price was very reasonable. Staff was very friendly. Facility has indoor and outdoor pool. Beachfront on the Bay, one block from the ocean. Covered parking. Beautiful sunsets over the bay.

Ventilation system was very noisy. Reported to staff. Several wall outlets had no power. Reported to staff.

Appliance, wall decor could be modern needs a little upgrade and sofa bed was uncomfortable very flat needs a new sofa mattress.

Customer service was good. Room access, bar, and availability of pools were good.

Parking could become difficult. There was a persistent chemical snell throughout our stay. It only got vinegary and worse after housekeeping came in. The shower water pressure was trash. Our bathtub was caving in in the middle. No breakfast, and pool kinda closed too early. Room was very damp, so there had to have been mold.

Was unable to get housekeeping for clean towels. We were told they didn’t have any. Blow dryer in room didn’t work they did come and replace it. Over all the building could use some maintenance.

Online pictures look better than the hotel in person. Leaky faucet, mildew smell in room, tub with permanent stains. We were told they were booked and could not get anymore accommodations. They make it complicated to even giving some money back.

Location and the roof top pool was nice.

Drain was blocked in the shower and couldn’t shower. Toilet flushed slowly and daughter was afraid it would overflow. Only 2 towels in unit when they knew a family of 6 was coming. Had to go to front to request more towels and bed linen for the pull out sofa. Advertised as 650 SQFT, was no where near that size. It was a standard size room. No more than 400 sqft if that and size was a determining factor in our decision. Parking lot was covered in trash in the morning. My kids and I were stepping over trash trying to pack the car.

Nothing really it was just fine

It was extremely clean. When walking to our room, we even spotted the housekeeping crew spraying and cleaning out the dresser drawers after our neighbors left. The beds were comfortable and housekeeping was so nice and helpful.

The girls at the front desk when we checked in made it feel like we were bothering them, even when we went to tell them that all the balconies had chairs except for ours. Then they sent us two chairs that they use for the table inside vs the nice Adirondack chairs all the other balconies had. The indoor pool is advertised as heated and it was not, which made it so cold in the AC, and there were no pool towels at either pool the entire week we stayed, even though there was a spot for them. The hotel bar, Finnegan’s and the pool bar were not open except Thurs-Sun. We did stay the end of August after most schools went back so maybe that’s why.

Princess bayside is my go to hotel for ocean city. We stayed in the bay view room and it was our best stay thus far. Highly recommend

Good hotel with friendly, staff and clean rooms with ocean view and indoor and outside next building rooftop pool with a bar. The only issue is the shower water don’t go down and water comes out slow. Overall great experiences except the slamming doors and loud noises late at night from ignorant intoxicated people.

Great location. Walking distance to many restaurants and activities. There is a traffic light toght at the hotel. Beautiful bay views. The staff were friendly but did struggle to help us extend our stay to the point we decided not to. The room was clean-ish but showed its age. For example, the inside of the fridge was spotless but the outside was speckled with rusty stains. The bed linens were clean but the mattresses were not. There is no screen on the sliding door. So mosquitoes got in anytime we opened the door. The halls were not clean. The pools were not clean and there were no towels ever. The beach area was well maintained and spotlessly clean. So it was the oddest mix of clean and not. The bathroom was clean-ish and shower fabulous. Overall the convenience and amenities made for a very good stay.

Extremely disappointing customer service. I specifically paid more for the most flexible refundable option, and after a genuine medical emergency I contacted the hotel in advance and offered to provide documentation. What upset me most was not even the refusal itself, but the way I was treated. The manager would not speak with me when I called, I was told I would receive a callback, and no one ever called. There was no real conversation, no attempt to understand the situation, and no basic courtesy toward a guest dealing with an emergency. Booking.com also contacted the hotel directly on my behalf and asked them to reconsider, but the hotel declined again. Policies are one thing. Refusing to even communicate respectfully with a customer is another. I would not book this hotel again.

Great location. Room was big, a little dated but comfortable beds, nice kitchenette, very cold refrigerator. Cold AC (a bit loud) Great view of bay sunsets and a block walk to the ocean beaches. Would definitely stay again.

Que yo ni mis hijos pudimos dormir bien los tres primeras noches ya que estaba muy ruidoso el ac después que no realizaron bien la limpieza no me dieron utensilios de cocina como cuchillo ollas y sartenes me quedé sin ac el tercer día y no arreglaron pronto y a las 12 de la noche recien me cambiaron de habitacion ósea la ultima noche descansé a la 1 h30 am porque tuve que pasar todo a esa hora no la pasé bien que digamos

The air conditioner had a leak that had the floor completely wet in the are. The mattresses need to be replaced. They were uncomfortable.

We like to stay at hotels that have an efficiency so we can have some meals in our room, especially breakfast. This is the first time we have ever stayed somewhere without a toaster. This seemed crazy to us. Does no one else eat toasted bread or bagels for breakfast? I called the front desk to see if they had one and the clerk acted like it was a crazy request. Very limited kitchen items. There was dishwasher detergent, but no hand soap or dish detergent for hand washing dishes. I wish the efficiencies had a beachfront view but they are only for non-efficiency rooms. The air conditioning noise was deafening, with or without the fan on. In order to hear the tv, you had to turn the volume way up. Plus, the air blew right down on the bed, making it very cold. I'm also attaching a photo of our sliding door curtain - very dirty with stains. Also, the bathroom had no type of handrails or safety equipment at all, The tub was very slippery. No bath mat. In my opinion an accident waiting to happen. It's a shame because this hotel is in an ideal location. It could be so much better if they would sink some money into it. However, we will not be returning.

Location was great! Close to everything!! Rooftop pool was also great, clean pool, relaxing atmosphere!! The views were great!! The room was outdated though, need to update the beds, flooring and that wallpaper too. The room seemed to be cleaned until we turned on the lights the next morning and saw baby roaches climbing on the kitchenette counter, microwave, fridge and bathroom vanity sink area. Besides that, the hotel was ok.

Went to Ocean city from Monday to Friday originally, but after staying one night decided to pay for an extra night till Saturday. Me and my family had such a great time, the room and beds were comfortable and we had a great view of the Bayside. The people who worked there were very kind and helpful, definitely planning to come here again next year! Thank you guys for the great stay.

It was amazing. Had a beautiful bay front view and can use the bay beach whenever you’re any. Across the street from ocean and walking distance to amazing restaurants. Had a kitchen in room so can cook for your family. Would def stay again.

We had a wonderful stay! The location couldn't have been better. The Coastal Highway bus stop is nearby, and for just $4, you can ride all day up and down the strip. The beach is only a block away, and the hotel's private beach area offers some really fun water sports. The water was calm and not too deep, which made it perfect for enjoying the beach. There are lots of great places to eat within walking distance, including Seacrets, Dough Roller, and Rita's. While the hotel may not be the most modern option in the area, the excellent staff more than makes up for it. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were clean and well maintained. I'd definitely stay here again.

I appreciated the bay view from my balcony. Iwas pleased with the room cleanliness and the well working A/C. The beds were very comfortable. I liked the private beach access.

I was very taken aback by the condition of the lobby. It was in poor condition. The front windows and entrance doors were very dirty, the curtains were filthy and the furniture was so soiled that I did not want to sit in the chairs or on the couch. The lobby wreaked of cigarette smoke. I could only conclude, from the side access area, for smokers. Our room was clean and very comfortably cool on entrance. Unfortunately, the ceiling above our kitchenette appeared to have been repaired and the tiles were still sagging down as though repaired haphazardly. The bathroom toilet was not suitable for anyone with knee/back issues,as my husband. It was very low to the floor so he had mobility problems with it. While waiting on our room, we asked about Finnagans' only to be told they were not open M,T, but would open W. The desk staff was kind and friendly but did not have answers to some questions about maintenance or finnagans. During my booking and reading up on your hotel, it was never made clear that the only hotel restaurant DID NOT even serve food! Due to the fact that my husband is handicapped, this restaurant accessibility was important to us! We were extremely put-off when Finnagans didn't open on Wednesday either, due too "staffing issue." We finally stopped in to the bar/"restaurant", on Thursday during a tornado warning because we didn't want to venture out. Only to ask if food was served and were pointed to the chips behind the bar by the bartender and told...WE HAVEN'T SERVED FOOD IN OVER 7 YEARS! That was ridiculous. The cleanliness of the bar was terrible, a maintenance man was called in as we sat at the empty bar sipping our beer. He proceeded to use a plunger to "unclog" an ice bin, only to spew water out as the barkeep laughed about the water running under the bar, towards the stools. We had enough and went back to our room and ordered out.

The location is great, but the facility is really outdated, the indoor pool and outdoor needs a good renovation, also the AC is very loud and you can hear everything, the the walks on the hallway, so I did not had a good sleep.

The staff is wonderful, very helpful. The view of the bay is beautiful and the location is perfect.

I really liked the private beach, rooftop pool, coffee amenities, friendliness of the staff, and the cleaning daily.

The shower temperature fluctuated constantly during every single shower. No matter which temperature you set the dial to, it would end up burning you or freezing you. Additionally, the rooftop pool and bar hours were not consistent and it wasn’t specified pool vs bar hours separately which caused lots of confusion and disappointment among us and other guests.

Our sheets needed to be changed upon arrival. They had dark short hairs all over them. The pool was, less than clean, and people were swimming in it fully clothed without rinsing themselves before hand, it was obvious they were dirty, because of this it exacerbated an autoimmune issue for me.

Beds were very comfortable, slept like 10 hours at nights. Beach right downstairs. Will come again next year

Location to the bay was wonderful The difference excursions, a part of the hotel made it feel like we were on a resort. Easy walk to ice cream shops bars, and dinner. The bus stop being right outside of hotel made it easy to go to the boardwalk. With the bay being in the back of the hotel, the kids didn’t want to go to the actual beach. Cleaning staff was sweet. We used all three beds the two queens in the pullout and everyone slept in until 11 every day. With the hotel being right next to secrets the noise was really low until you went out in the bay and then you could enjoy the music from secrets. The price was the price no extra charge

The hotel was very outdated and the tub was backed up the entire weekend so we had to bathe in our own soil. The price was so expensive per night and you could not take anything but a cold shower. We called down and they are very polite and set up a plumber who complained about the front desk, people being foreign and you can’t ever understand them. He did not fix it. We called again. The next day he came up and complained about the entire hotel telling us the fifth floor never has anyone taking a shower. They always go somewhere else. At the end of our day, I went down to get some customer service and spoke with Barbara and she strung me along all week telling if I called Booking.com she would give me at least a portion of the refund, and then she avoided me and has never gotten back to me!!! way too expensive for what we got and it would’ve been nice to have a shower at the beach

The kitchen that comes with the room that we stayed in was a little outdated. It had some accommodations like dishes and pots and pans and silverware, but they were not that clean and very old would not use at all. I think the kitchen just needs a little updated but overall the beds are the most important thing to me and they were wonderful.

Everyone was helpful. Water sports on the bay were very organized. Rooftop pool was also enjoyable!

People next to us which were part of a young party were loud with screaming on and off.

It is an old building and is not updated and the shower backed up so I could not get clean and you had very very cold water or burning hot water so I have to take a cold shower the whole time

Location was excellent surrounded by good dining a nice tavern . With only a short walk to the main Beach. The private beach also supplied a nice tranquil getaway from the rougher Waters main Beach

Little dated but very clean and friendly. Private beach would be great for grandkids and had many amenities on site—- outdoor and indoor pools and kayaks and paddle boats.

Our room was clean, comfortable, and an excellent value for the price. While the elevators are a bit small, they were still able to accommodate us and our luggage without any issues. The hotel is in a great central location, making it easy to get to Fager’s Island and other nearby restaurants, attractions, and entertainment. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend Princess Bayside Beach Hotel to anyone visiting the area. We look forward to staying here again!

Helpful staff, nice location really close to a small private beach.

This hotel is on the bayside of the highway (as the name would indicate), but only about a minute walk to cross the street to get to the beach. The bay is RIGHT AT THE BACK of the hotel, and it has its own little mini beach. When we were on our balcony, which had a gorgeous view of the bay, we could hear the water lapping at the shore ever-so-gently. It is a sound I could listen to all night! It’s about a 3 minute walk to Seacrets, which is FABULOUS and fun! The room was exactly as described; the beds were SO COMFY and solid, as well as the pillows. Unlike typical hotel pillows, these didn’t eat your face if you put the back of your head on one. Both my bestie and I had the best sleeps we’d had in weeks! The best thing was that we arrived super early (8am!) and were asking if we could leave our number for early check-in, and they let us check in RIGHT THEN. I cannot TELL you how that improved our day by about 300%. Obviously they can’t do that for everybody, but we lucked out and they were so nice about everything!! We didn’t have to drive around with all our stuff for hours, worrying about shower and face stuff melting, trying to dig in and find bathing suits, etc. The rooftop pool is SUPER nice, and there were plenty of deck chairs to go around. We are DEFINITELY coming back to the Princess Bayside Beach Hotel next year!! Oh - the water from the sink was delicious and didn’t taste or smell like ‘beach water.’ If ya’ know, ya’ know.

Overall, I will give this a four because the rooms were clean the water was hot. The staff was nice. There was indoor and outdoor pool. It was a private beach and the parking free.. the private beach is really small. Make sure you take a chair because they were only about six shares given by the hotel so you’ll need yourown chairs and probably your own towels. It’s really tiny maybe about 20 people can fit but the beach is about a four minute walk from hotel. It’s literally across the street from the light. Also it’s in a pretty good area as far as having things to do. There’s a mini golf block or so down there’s a giftshop that is literally right next-door and the boardwalk is about a six minute drive probably a 29 minute walk. It is not as close as you think. The outdoor pool is actually in the second building that they own, which is across the parking lot. You have to go on the elevator to goupstairs. It’s on the rooftop, but it’s really really nice. There’s a bar there, but it’s not open every single day, and you can literally lay the direct sun which was amazing. You have to ask for a cleaning staff to come to your room if you wanted to be cleaned, however they don’t touch the bed. They will just put in new towels and take the old towels away and washcloths. When asked, we were told that they focus on the rooms that are being checked out first and then they’ll go to the other rooms if Time permits there’s also a small arcade on site with a few games in there and the indoor pool was slightly heated Overall, we enjoyed the stay We were there for three days and we will visit again.
