Clean comfortable room in a great location. Staff were really helpful.

Hotel is a bit dated now but great value because of it.

Staff were very friendly and welcome. Also willing to help us and answer questions. Location is also quite good for the metro or the sea front.

In my life I have never experienced a warmer room. I still can't understand it. We stayed in mid September and it was around 15-18 degrees. The window was open all night and yet the room was a sauna. No fan provided however when we asked the receptionist she went out her way to source us a small one. This made a small improvement. I can't even imagine how bad this hotel is in peak summer weather. Hotel as a whole is also quite outdated and I wasn't impressed by being offered instant coffee sachets alongside a pot of hot water as part of my breakfast.

Cleanliness and staff were excellent.

Unfortunately no lift but we were forwarned and put on the first floor.

Everything else, the room was too hot, windows broken and dirty. It was really noisy, could hear all the other residents. Lumps under the carpet, really dirty carpet. Uncomfortable bed, back ache and cracked everytime you moved.

Great location, beach was just a minute away. Friendly staff, willing to help. Dog friendly. Good value for money. Town centre is really close with shops, pubs and restaurants/takeaways nearby. Will definitely go back again.

The area is a little run down. The hotel is showing it's age a bit. The closest beaches aren't dog friendly during peak season but the dog friendly area is not far. I don't really want or need to say anything else negative as I really enjoyed my stay and will go back again.

Excellent location for both town and beach. Lovely Italian restaurant straight across the road. Good food and value for money. Receptionist is very helpful and pleasant. Hotel reception area is very tired. But the rooms are clean and comfortable. All you need for a night away. Will be returning.

Room was very hot even though no heating on, sash window only opened 6’’ for security reasons but would not stay open, it had to be wedged open with a loo roll. Decor dated and even had round pin plug sockets , no USB plugs The hotel lift was not working but I was notified of this by booking agent, however it has been out of order for some while

Welcoming, a bit dated but super clean, excellent value with great breakfast, bed was comfy but only a small double, only one bedside lamp but I always take a fold up rechargeable lamp just incase, warm in room but got a good breeze through window, room was large with kettle coffee milk & biscuits, large car park to rear & location couldn't be better, only a couple minutes walk to town & pubs or bus stops & beach the other way, all staff were lovely,would definitely stay again, lighthouse is worth a visit but is a longish walk from bus stop although there is plenty parking down there

The staff were so friendly!. The room was very clean and the bed comfy. Plenty of hot water for a bath or shower. Breakfast was great although would have preferred fresh coffee and juice instead of instant coffee and juice boxes. Had a really good stay.

Close to seafront and good sized rooms.

No double glazing so room at front of hotel picked up the very loud club opposite until 2am, followed by a fight outside until after 3am. Very warm in room.

The location was great to go for a walk on the seaside. Beds were very comfortable. And easy parking on their permises at the back.

The room had a very dirty/old carpet. First night not, but second night a kid was running upstairs and we could hear it as if he//she was insde.

Location is great. Bathroom was big with a shower and a bathtub.

The room was very dated. Not dirty per se but with a dirty look. Stained carpets, stained walls, paint peeling off the walls, stained chair. Windows opened only a couple of inches and only two out of three worked (there was na AC or a fan). Room photos on booking are very old.

Our bedroom carpet was dirty and stained. The mattress on the bed I slept on was lumpy and wasn’t comfy.

Very convenient for the town centre and the Metro station. The room was clean and the bed comfortable (most important!). Good service at breakfast and very helpful ladies at reception, (and I promised to mention Susie!).

Seagulls make a bit of a racket early on but the hotel can't do anything about that.

Dirty rooms full of dust and do not enter ironing room looks like nobody has been in there for years had ask staff for cleaning equipment as they said they couldn't do nothing not there job hotel needs a revamp including staff

Tired looking and in desperate need of an update. We were on the second floor and lift not working. As we are reasonably fit for our age this was ok but couldn’t help noticing as we walked up the staircase that the carpet was in dire need of hoovering - looked as though it hadn’t been done for weeks. Paintwork was grimy in the room and getting the painters and decorators in is definitely needed. Breakfast was generally good and cooked to order but I was surprised to see that there was no filtered coffee only sachets of instant which I don’t like. Towels and bedding were clean.

Hot inside and windows didn't open. Old and tired furnishings but perfectly acceptable. Loud night bars opposite but didn't bother me. Seagulls were worse in the morning.

Hotel clean,it is a bit dated but nice atmosphere,staff great, especially Sonia, nothing was to much trouble for her.

Beds were clean and comfortable. That's all we really needed to break our journey from Scotland down to Dover. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel. What you pay, is what you get.

Room was slightly dated (old carpet f.e.) but that was compensated in the price.

The Staff were all very friendly accommodating and helpful. In general the whole hotel and rooms were very well cleaned and the Housekeeping staff should be congratulated. Just 3 minutes walk from the beach. Extremely good value and the two breakfasts we had were lovely Definitely stay again as the positives out weigh any negative

Unfortunately the hotel is very tiered and deserving of a refurbishment. We had no hot water the first morning, but were moved to a fully functional room straight away. Carpets weren't good at all and an attempt to hide a dirty stained carpet with a doormat was a failure in my book a,deep steam clean or replacement was the only option. But We would definitely stay again and thats the "acid test"

Always apprehensive reading previous comments and reviews, but pleasantly surprised. Large size room (dated but everything yer need to use as a base) large bathroom with shower, breakfast was super and all staff encountered very pleasant. Would definitely stop again when next in town..

Spacious room with good facilities, shower powerful too. Fab value for money. Great location, near the centre and the seafront with the only little annoyance being the nightclub across the road until 2am.

I liked that we booked a double room, and recieved a large family room. Everything was clean and fresh. The location of the Windsor Hotel is excellent. Free parking behind the hotel was very handy. The staff were all very pleasant.

The Internet was not available in our room, and intermittent even downstairs in the foyer.

My room was on the 1st floor - it was like a boiler room. The milk I bought curdled overnight, the ice melted within a couple of hours, the bottle of water I had was more than warm. Not being able to sleep, despite the op;en window, I went downstairs at 3am as I could hardly even breathe. The night proter was lovely and gave me water from the bar. Next morning I could hear the pipes being rattled and the next night wasn't as bad but the weather was on the change too. Picked hotel because of bar but bar not open till weekend. Like to finish evening off in hotel knowing safe and sound!

Etablissement propre mais très vieillot et bruyant (isolation, goélands). La rambarde de l'escalier est branlante. La porte de la chambre avait un jour de plusieurs centimètres en bas en biais. Lits mous. Moquette très ancienne, murs et plafonds tâchés.

Room was shabby and dated. Carpet stained, cobwebs in the window and translucent curtains. Was double glazing actually fitted? You’d never know! The noisy bar didn’t help, blasting out crap ‘music’ until early hours. On the plus side… Well located for town centre and beach. Very reasonable prices. Off street, free car parking. Staff were fantastic.

War alles soweit prima, wir durften unsere Fahrräder in einer Abstellkammer unterstellen.

Es war sehr warm im Zimmer, und die Fenster konnten nur ein kleines Stück geöffnet werden. Allerdings hat es nachts dann doch abgekühlt und erholsamer Schlaf war möglich.

I like the location because it's close to the metro, as well as shops and restaurants.

I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, but unfortunately it seems to be getting worse with each visit. The room was very shabby, and the carpet was badly worn. We had booked a twin room, but there was only one chair. The room had just a single window, which provided very little ventilation, even though the temperature outside was comfortable. The view from the window was of a dirty roof, with a building covered in scaffolding beyond it, which made the room feel even less appealing. The room had not been aired before our arrival and felt very stuffy. We tried to ventilate it ourselves, but it made little difference, and we had a very uncomfortable night's sleep. The car park was noticeably dirty, and the overall appearance of the hotel was untidy and not as well maintained as it used to be. Considering the condition of the room and the general standard of the hotel, I do not feel it offers good value for money anymore. This is particularly disappointing because I have always enjoyed staying here in the past. I'm afraid I won't be staying at this hotel again.

Where do I start 🤣 if you are going to Whitley Bay and like a good sleep don’t stay here! Central Heating blasting all night during a heatwave, windows locked to an inch opening (like sleeping in a sauna), night club opposite booming until 2am and personally I don’t think there were enough seagull crying-on opposite our room to drown out my partners snoring (and there were a lot of seagulls 🤣). Went home like a zombie. Good luck if you book!

I liked that the staff were really friendly and helpful i double booked and they said we could book another date and have been brilliant stayed here several times and very central to seafront and centre of whitley bay

Room is spacious for a family of 3 persons, staff were helpful and hotel location was near the beach and good restaurants.

On one of the nights, the room was very hot. Luckily, the reception staff lent us a small portable fan, which provided some relieve.

Despite the hotels convenient location, the area around hotel wasnt great. Club opposite but not open the night we stayed. Hotel corridors were really hot, receptionist said problem with heating.

The room we were in is in need of some TLC although very clean. No a/c and the weather was very hot with the sun shining right into the room all day which made it an uncomfortable nights sleep. Maybe have fans in the rooms for situations like this.

The breakfast system didn't work. We pre-filled out our orders but took them with us to breakfast that was too late for the staff. This put them at a disadvantage and caused a bit of stress for everyone.

All the shared spaces were quite tatty and grubby. The carpets in the hallway were dirty and very old/frayed/patchy. Whilst the room was clean, the pillows were very old and thin, the bathroom was very old and tatty, lots of grout missing. My room looked out onto a flat roof at the front of the hotel which was full of broken glass. Overall this hotel needs a significant amount of maintenance. Staff were friendly though.

Staff were great, breakfast excellent. Room was clean and good except for heat and noise from nightclub.

To hot with no additional cooling. Had to keep window open so didn’t sleep until around 2.30 when the nightclub closed. Was told the bar wasn’t open only to return and see the bar had been open.

Paid for breakfast on arrival at front desk and filled out form for the choice in morning and never received any breakfast and lady in dining room tried to charge me £4 for cup coffee even when I paid this the previous day also was chard twice for room so had to get refund for that also. .woman who served food in dining room very rude and unhelpful. Wouldn’t recommend this hotel

Where it was situated, the room size, and room facilities as good as could be expected.

Lack of Air Con. Windows only open 2ins. Broken lift. Opposite an extremely loud and disturbing night club.

The breakfast was good and it was hot, you put a list in the day before and it came on a tray when you sat down.

The hotel is quite dated and needs work doing to it, the tv signal was hit and miss, the double beds could do with being a little bit bigger, and also there seem to be alot of single men in the hotel so I would not recommend it if you going to stay for a few nights and the parking is at a premium. Plus there was no air conditioning in the rooms which during this hot period makes the rooms uncomfortable at night.

You get what you pay for. Bedding fine & plenty of hot water. Convenient location for what we needed & 100 metres to beach.
