Mine was a room that had not been refurbished but was still clean and had everything I needed.and breakfast was great.

Nothing not to like really for the price I payed

The staff were friendly and approachable. The room was clean - newly refurbished. The bed was very comfortable - I really needed the rest. The breakfast was delicious.

The windows needed cleaning. The room seemed very basic, I would expect a few more frills and spills for the price and to add a touch of luxury.

This is a fantastic place. The location was perfect, I swam in the sea and walked on the beach every day. Great spots to eat nearby including the legendary Di Meo's. They are going through renovations at the moment but inside it is clean and tidy, the breakfast is excellent and the staff exceptional.

Wish there was a lift, hoping this is part of the renovation as there are a lot of stairs and it was difficult to navigate with my suitcase - although staff did help.

Had a new refurbished room.. 40 top floor. Very comfy bed

The TV wasn’t working in my room. I believe this was recently installed, so perhaps it will be working soon.

The property was undergoing building work , but the friendly staff made the experience a good one.

Wow what a room! We had room 12 which has recently been refurbished. It was bright. Modern. Clean and what a view! You can see the sea from every window and even when sitting in bed with a cuppa. The bed was super comfy, and the shower was amazing. The staff were all friendly and very welcoming. The buffet breakfast was really tasty and fresh, even the hot selection which was always being topped up. Compliments to the cook. We will definitely be returning and asking for this room again

Parking could be a problem, especially where the refurbishment is taking place. But we was lucky enough to park outside the hotel during our stay.

Es waren keine 17 Stufen zum Zimmer. Sondern 33. Das Bett war nicht komfortabel, die Matratze zu weich und zu schräg. Im ganzen Zimmer nur eine freie Steckdose, kein Stuhl am Tisch, keine Ablage für Toilettenartikel im Bad. Die in booking.com gezeigten Fotos hatten mit meinem Zimmer nichts zu tun.

The noise in the morning g that started at 6.50am next door to my room. Hearing workmen shouting things like- I cant find my frigging hammer! and drills and banging going on.

The location opposite the sea was fantastic, with an amazing view of the rising sun to greet you as you get up (if you time it right). The large family sea-view room given to me for my single occupancy, was a very unexpected and kind upgrade! A lovely breakfast served nice and early too and with attentive care, enabling me to make a right early start to my long day of travel. That suited me perfectly. Good value in a building clearly upgrading gradually. Very convenient parking. The refurbishment had zero impact on the quality of my stay and it was mostly impeccable.

There were no plugs sockets or lamps next to the single beds so I slept in the double bed to charge my phone and have a bedside lamp. The corridors were at first a bit confusing but no problem after a few runs up and down the stairs.

building work was happening on the hotel. They started work at 7 am. What a joke. I am in the trade so I understand but you can't start building work on a holiday at 7am. Breakfast was average

The window from our room gave us the most perfect sunrise view over the sea. The location are perfect! Close to all the local amenities.

This did not spoil our stay but it is clear the renovation work is on going.

The proximity, the sea view to wake up to. The staff were so accommodating, and friendly and couldn't do enough for us.

Nothing the building is being refurbished and obviously workmen everywhere but the pluses made up for any negativity. We weren't phased by this.

We booked a king size sea view room which had been newly renovated. We were delighted with this room which was renovated to a high standard. Large with bay window, seating area with on wall tv. The bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. The bathroom was lge with walk in shower and also beautifuly renovated. Breakfast was full English in buffet style as expected and the selection was hot and freshly cooked. I am vegetarian and they cooked veggie sausages for me to go along with the other none meat items. My husband also enjoyed the breakfast. There was also fruit yoghurt and cereal on offer. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. We stayed for 3 nights and will return again, we were also lucky to be able to park right outside for our stay which was great

The outside is not a pretty sight as it is still in the process of being renovated but we knew this was the case and it didn't spoil our stay at all. Inside was great.

Very welcoming property located on the sea front.. the ongoing renovations did not interrupt my stay. 5 star staff! Amazing! Thank you.

The hotel itself is completely shut off due to refurbishments. There is a make shift reception area, a small dining room on the first floor and the hotels rooms. that's it...nothing else.

Location, location, location! Step outside, cross the street, and you're on the beach. Easy no-nonsense check-in, decent breakfast.

The hotel is in the middle of the refurbishment, and I got the old room with a squeaky floor, an older mattress, and some damaged accessories (toilet paper dispenser with broken lock, that was opened and in ones face when using the toilet). No accessible socket for charging the phone next to the bed.

Breakfast was a great start to the day. Location on the sea front and watching the sunrise was great. Great place to stay as I visited Holy Island, Bamburgh and Alnwick, Tynemouth.

Only thing was the mattress way too soft for me.

The room was very clean and the bed was large and very comfortable with a large bathroom. The receptionist was very friendly. There were building renovations but we were advised before our arrival and this didn’t affect our stay at all.

Staff is all friendly rooms are comfortable but I would like a sea view room next time as I go quiet often can't fault this hotel

Amazing value for a seafront spot. Whether you like this place depends on what you want from a hotel. It is very dated and not at all fancy to look at but it is cheap for such a prime spot. We found the room quiet ( we were at the back of the building) the beds comfy and the staff friendly . I was able to park my car right in front. The breakfast was good and again staff friendly . You turn right out of the hotel front door for fantastic fish and chips and it’s 1 minute’s walk and you are sitting on the soft sand gazing out to sea. First time to this part of the world- gorgeous.

It is basic looking and you’d need to be happy to climb a few stairs. The WiFi didn’t work but the nice man on the desk gave us the staff code immediately which worked so save yourself a trip back downstairs and ask for it on your way in. The shower is a little weak.

No lounge to sit in due to the hotel being extensively modernised inside and out. No lifts about 17 steep stairs between each floor which were very difficult to get up and down. The shower in the room was rubbish and the room was very basic

There was significant property refurbishment taking place, however the hotel made that clear at the time of booking - and I'm sure this probably influenced the price, so I was fine with that.

The hotel had all of the basics, felt safe, a good breakfast and helpful staff. My bicycle was stored inside overnight which I was thankful for. Good value for money!

Mattress was too soft and wobbly. Couldn’t get tv to connect to Internet but as I was only staying there whilst seeing friends it wasn’t a problem. Didn’t have time to mention it to the staff.

My score was 4/5 only because of a slightly daunting external appearance of the hotel during refurbishments. However, once inside I was very happy with my room and en-suite and especially with the breakfast. There was a lovely selection, especially the hot food buffet and I was very well attended by the waitress. It was a very reasonable price for the room and breakfast and a perfect setting for meeting up with my family. I wish you well with your continued refurbishment.

This hotel is undergoing renovation and the exterior looks very poor and is a bit off-putting when you first arrive, parking is also very limited, But I was fortunate to be givne a newly refurbish room on the top floor and it was excellent. The staff were all very helpful and breakfast was available from 6.30am onwards including Saturday & Sunday. The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice, all good quality and the chef was very helpful indeed and nothing was to much trouble.

Price of the room was more than others who had renovated/modern rooms. Our room was dated, musty and old fashioned. We understand that the venue is undergoing renovation but pricing should reflect that. We were part of a group of people where some had paid much less to stay in a modern/upgraded suite. This was really disappointing.

It was good that we had been made aware from the outset - with an email reminder sent close to the time of our stay - that the property is in the process of being renovated, as this could not be missed from the moment we arrived. However, the staff seemed to work well around the ongoing works, which included the relocation of the reception desk during the course of our 3 nights stay. Some dustiness in the public areas, e.g. reception, stairways and corridors, was evidence of the ongoing works although our room was clean and comfortable. Tasty and plentiful cooked English breakfast. Our room was at the front of the hotel, providing a lovely view over the seafront and the sea itself. Friendly staff.

Our bathroom sink lacked a plug and unfortunately one did not appear despite mentioning this to the receptionist - who visited the room to check - on the first morning. However, we were advised that as part of the renovation the bathroom was due to be ripped out and replaced so perhaps the provision of a plug was not deemed a high priority.

We had one of the refurbished rooms, it was a great size and lovely and clean, fresh white fluffy towels everyday, breakfast was very good and plentiful , staff were very good, receptionist very helpful when to did not work. Location was great right on the seafront , short walk to Spanish city and about 10 mins to town centre .

It is currently being refurbished so there was a lot of work going on in reception , it did not affect our stay.

Location is excellent , staff are exceptional, .It is having ongoing renovation, to include lift, rooms for disabled, new dining room , cafe. Rooms have been done to high standard ,very comfy beds ,beautiful bathrooms.Breakfasts was buffer style but all top quality hot food .

Fab location at the seafront. Staff all very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were very clean. Breakfast was good (particularly the sausages!).

Only that the renovation work was quite noisy.

Lovely hotel in an amazing location just across the road from the beach! Amazing breakfast included. Staff always pleasant and willing to help. I've stayed here many times over the years and it has become a home from home. Only problem this time, it was a bit noisy during the day due to the refurbishment going on, but even that was kept to a minimum. Looking forward to my next visit when hopefully refurbishment is completed and café opened on site.

Hotel was having renovations done but not completed unfortunately our room (25) was above the skip which made a very loud noise when being filled early in the mornings . Staff very helpful . Breakfast delicious . A small fridge in the room would be nice to keep the drinks cold . Visited 29/6/26-3/7/26. During a very hot week. Overall a very pleasant hotel with a beautiful sea view would definitely visit again.

Hotel was a building site including front and entrance. Stayed in rooms which hadnt been renovated at the rear. Beds were not comfy . Our daughter had to ask for a change of bedding as the one on the bedsheet had holes. Would not stay again and would not recommend. My opinion close till full refurb has been complete. Hazard zone and very dangerous.

Location was good. Nice to be on sea front and were lucky enough to be moved to a room at front of hotel. If we hadn’t I do think we’d have queried are stay altogether. Easy walking distance to town and sea front. Staff were lovely as was the breakfast.

Understand hotel is under a lot of refurbishment work. It looks as though they’ve been doing this for a while. I thought the outside looked to be honest terrible. It could do with a good stiff broom and good sweep. Price we paid didn’t reflect the state of the property. However we were grateful to be moved to the room we had and were happy enough to go along with it.
