Everything! Everyone including the restaurant staff, together made the overall experience pleasant. However, I MUST specifically thank the following amazing wonderful encounters I have had with these now special people: Rachel at the highest library in the World. :-) She is sooooo accommodating and is truly an exceptional person for making guests feel that special. I believe she initiated the series of activities which made my heart flatter as I casually mentioned it is my birthday. Then came the flutter of activities. This makes me smile now that I am recalling the activities. To catch me in the room to present me with the surprise birthday 🎂 cake. So playfully yet so professional. Monica who checked us in on day 1. Claire with her smooth professional and efficient impact with the warm smile. Thank you and the team for the delicious birthday cake and the nice touch of the JW Marriott Teddy/Mascot.(Lion and Eagle as we have now come to know mean bravery and freedom) 😀 Vera Wu, our bell girl and a big, big shout out to our super, super top Concierge Champions John and Justin who repeatedly got us taxis, massage parlours, and top dining recommendations, and everything else from directions, sim cards. They are proud to serve the patrons of the hotel! We felt that in our interactions with them. And as we checked out, Iris who gave us tips on future China visits all go deep in creating the connection that we now have with JW Marriott. To the Management you have a great team !!!!. Please cherish them! The rooms have been a pleasant surprise! So high up in the sky, it felt like we were flying. We didn't need to go to the Shanghai Tower at least not just for the view. The Bund view was visible from our bed :-). I fell in love with Shanghai!

직원들이 친절하고 조식 먹을 때도 뷰가 아름다웠고 음식 종류가 많고 맛있었어요. 위치도 넘 좋음. 이 호텔은 헬스장이 잘 돼 있음. 호텔 룸에서 도시를 내려다 볼 수 있고 창문이 깨끗하게 잘 관리 되고 있었고 청소 서비스도 좋았음. 연식이 있지만 시원하고 무난한 호텔

오성급 호텔인데 모든 직원들이 영어를 잘 하는 건 아니고 몇 안 되는 직원들만 영어 구사. 비데가 원래 없음. 솔직히 수영장이 좋아보여서 이 호텔을 선택했는데 수영장이 넓거나 깊지 않았고 예상보다 작은데 직원들이 두 명씩이나 안전요원으로 앉아 있음. 솔직히 수영할 맛이 안나고 넘 부담스럽다.

Hotel w świetnej lokalizacji blisko stacji metra z 3 liniami. Bardzo przyjazna obsługa. Ze względu na późny odlot, udało się nam zrobić late check out bez opłat. Przepyszne śniadania. Nie są "amerykańskie". Można się raczyć daniami kuchni azjatyckiej, europejskiej. Kucharz gotuje na poczekaniu. W kolejne dni dostępne są inne rodzaje potraw. Concierge przechowuje bagaż, także bez opłat. W pokoju było czysto. Dokładano codziennie wodę w takich ilościach, że nie musiałyśmy kupować własnej. Baseny pływacki oraz do zabaw również przyjemne.

John was my server at the club lounge during my stay. Although he's new he knows how to take care of guest. John and his team have done an excellent job at provide an excellent service. Definitely coming back. Thank you John.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and had a very bad experience at check in service. The lady who handled our check in was very unprofessional and unfriendly. Although I am a Titanium Elite member and a Lifetime Platinum member, our room was not upgraded even though there were better rooms available at that time. I was fine that our room was not upgraded. However, I was very disappointed that she also refused to offer a room at higher floors. I did not feel she treated us with positive attitude. In contrast, she was rude and made us felt we were not welcome. I totally agree with one Marriott Bonvoy member who wrote the review indicating extremely poor check in service on hotel official page 2 weeks ago. Indeed, check in service doesn’t not meet JW Marriott standards and staff at check in service lack of professional training.

Great location. 10-15 mins walk to Nanjing Rd. Club lounge is a bit on the small side but service was good. Enjoyed our stay. Had a great view of the skyscrapers from our suite. hand written notes with fruits and cookies in our suite. It is not a new hotel but still a 5 star hotel.

I stayed at the JW Marriott Tomorrow Square for two nights. I would highly recommend this hotel. The good: Excellent location. I doubt there is a better location. It’s located at a quiet side of the shopping district right next to the city central park yet there are so many great restaurants within in a 5-10 min walking distance. It’s an only 10 min walk to Nanjing road pedestrian shopping area. Food: Hotel food is excellent. They have a huge spread for breakfast that you can pre-pay at checkin. The room was nice and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable Staff/soft product: I have to say that the staff/service is the best of all places I traveled. Everyone I encounter was genuinely helpful and extremely pleasant. Aron, from attendance team, was the most excellent. He was very compassionate and extremely helpful. He learned that I had to catch a train the next day and needed a car to the high speed rail station. He offered advice as well as setting up transportation to the rail station. The trip to the station was smooth and uneventful. Aron was a great help. Angela and all her colleagues at the executive lounge are always courteous and attentive. They always anticipate the needs and were able to address them quickly. The front desk team was amazing also. I checked in at 8:25pm. They realized that I needed some food and phoned the lounge team right away to save a plate before they close. That was a very nice touch. The soft product really made the stay so memorable. Room for improvement: I would say the hard products is showing its age a bit as a hotel has been around for many years. Despite its age, that hotel is still very elegantly appointed. I appreciate the art pieces around the hotel and visited the world‘s highest library which was pretty cool.

Back at the JW Tomorrow Square. Great staff, location and rooms. But the bathrooms 😭. No bidets even though its 2026 and Asia! The usual mysterious Marriott Shower fixtures with separate temp and water controls. Luckily no overhead shower to remind me of the times I walked into Marriott shower cubicles and got dunked with ice cold water 🙃. Its the opposite here though, the temp control options are piping hot or scalding hot. Who is this shower for, the undead 😂? Great views and nice-ish food Breakfast spread is nice too and timing till 10:30AM really works. A short walk to Nanjingnan Street and a longish stroll to the Bund.

Excelente ubicación, sobre todo para los extranjeros que quieren moverse libremente en la ciudad. Es una zona muy amigable. Está muy cerca de la entrada al Metro #11 lo que hace fácil llegar a cualquier parte rápidamente.

Оплачивали на месте картой РСХБ UnionPay. Для бронирования требуется нероссийская карта, но там ничего не блокируется. Завтраки не брали, в 100 метрах от отеля превосходные европейские недорогие кафе

Понравилось: удобное расположение, основные достопримечательности в пешей доступности. Разнообразный и вкусный завтрак, особенно хороши национальные китайские блюда.

Не понравилось: при заезде берется депозит ( с нас взяли 2000 юаней), про который заранее не предупреждают при бронировании. Уже второй день деньги на карту не возвращены. Панорамные окна в номере грязные, портят весь обзор на город (жили на 47 этаже). Фотографии на сайте Booking.com действительности не соответствуют - на смотровую площадку и бассейн на крыше не пускают гостей, говорят они закрыты. Отель не соответствует мировому уровню сети Marriot. Цена и качество не соответствуют.

We had an amazing experience at the JW Marriott during our vacation this March. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly polite and welcoming, making our stay truly memorable. I was especially touched by the thoughtful surprise in my room—the special cake, fruits, and balloons were such a lovely gesture and made me feel truly celebrated. We want to give a special shout-out to Yvette and Henry in the lounge. They looked after us so well and went above and beyond to ensure I had at least one hot vegetarian dish and delicious Chinese tea waiting for me every night. As a vegetarian, I truly appreciated this level of care and personalised service! The only suggestion - please add some vegetarian options to your menu (no egg, fish) Thank you to the entire team for making our holiday so special. We can’t wait to return!

I stayed at the JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai at Tomorrow Square and had an excellent experience. The room on the 52nd floor offered a stunning skyscraper city view — especially impressive at night — and was spacious, immaculately clean, and very quiet for restful sleep. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough. Staff service was the highlight — friendly, professional, and attentive from check-in through departure, with helpful recommendations for nearby sightseeing and transport. Special thanks to Yvette and Henry from the Executive Lounge for their warm hospitality and excellent service. The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of hot and cold dishes, fresh juices, and made-to-order items. The hotel’s location at Tomorrow Square is convenient for visiting major sights and public transport while still feeling calm and private. Overall great value for the level of comfort and service — I would highly recommend the JW Marriott Shanghai at Tomorrow Square for both business and leisure travelers.

The executive lounge staff is just fantastic. It is a wonderful way to unwind after a stressful day. Bothe Yvette and Lariena are such wonderful people and truly care for the guests. Great way to end my day.

Excellent service CV at the executive lounge evening cocktail and meals happy hour. The attention to detail by Yvette was very good. She also helped me plan my trip to Fudan University. Her manager Rachel and Avery were also very nice in prompt service.

La vue au 54ème étage est exceptionnelle ! Les chambres sont excellentes avec une literie haute qualité. La salle de sport est très bien équipée. Le petit déjeuner est très bien avec une vue très agréable.

Angela at the executive lounge was very hospitable and her service was excellent. She even accepted my special request meal and asked the chef to prepare it for me as it was not available at the buffet, which is very rare in other 5 star hotels!

Angela assisted us with airport transfers and additional travel arrangements. She is exceptionally professional and very knowledgeable with working with elite guests. This is our new Marriott for Shanghai.

Great location, unparalleled city view, friendly and attentive staff, great gym and pool and food. Though it has been around for some time, it is well maintained. Bedding is fresh and comfy. Tasteful and luxurious furnishing. Breakfast buffet can be busy. Go earlier to avoid crowd. Highly recommend executive lounge for all day access, peace and quiet, and stunning city views at night! The location is unbeatable: walk east to Nanjing Road shopping area, the Bund and Yu Garden or west to the Swire mall, the night market and Zhang Yuan, Hang Long mall and Jingan Shangri center. Or take a #2 train to Lujiazui in 15 minutes. Hotel is at the top of a skyscrapper, so every room has a spectacular view of the city!

I chose JW Marriott Tomorrow Square because of its high ratings and my consistently excellent experience with Marriott hotels around the world. In terms of hospitality, the expectations were fully met: the staff were welcoming, attentive, professional, and genuinely kind. Service, responsiveness, and overall attitude were top-notch — absolutely nothing to complain about on that front. Unfortunately, the facilities themselves were a major disappointment. The hotel feels very worn out and outdated. I initially booked a premium room, which turned out to be noticeably small and furnished in a very old style — the kind of unrenovated look you sometimes see in older U.S. hotels with dated furniture and tired interiors. Hoping for improvement, I upgraded to an executive room on the executive floor, but even there the situation was largely the same: old, worn furniture, visible aging, and an overall feeling closer to a very good four-star hotel rather than a true five-star experience. The biggest disappointment, however, was the swimming pool and wellness area — especially since regular exercise was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. The pool is located in a separate adjacent building, while the sauna, showers, and changing facilities are on the sixth floor of another building. This means you have to change into a bathrobe, walk through a cold passage, take an elevator, and then walk again through another cold corridor to reach the pool. After swimming, there are no showers or proper changing facilities near the pool itself. Instead, you’re required to walk back the same way with wet feet through cold corridors to reach the sauna or showers. The setup is extremely inconvenient and uncomfortable, especially in cooler weather. Maybe summer time it’s great, who knows. The pool area itself is very basic: limited seating, visibly worn elements, odd wall coverings, and an overall unhygienic appearance.

Executive floor was too crowded with children and the lack of food

We were welcomed with a beautiful cake in our room, as we would be staying over my husband’s birthday. When we used the executive lounge, the service was exceptional. Henry and Yvette wete very attentive.They even brought us ice cream one evening, just because we inquired about it. We were always made to feel welcome by Rachel and Avery. The cleaning and laundry staff did a wonderful job. On my husbands actual birthday they left us a bottle of champagne at turn down. The breakfast staff was great as well. Lastly we greatly enjoyed the wonderful food at the JW grill as well a the service provided by our server Freya. Definitely recommend $

Here for a 2 week business trip, the staff at the upstairs lounge (Rachel, Avery, Yvette, and Henry) provided service that was absolutely fantastic. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Everyone was very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I have traveled 30+ years as part of my job all over the world and my experience here was at the top of the list. If I could rate it higher than 5 stars I would. Kudos to everyone at the hotel, GREAT JOB!
