Coconut Waikiki Hotel

Wonderful Location and excellent value for money. The mountain view room is worth every penny with panoramic skyline and mountain views. The hotel staff is nice and courteous. The amenities are pretty basic but when you are in Waikiki, you don't need many amenities since you aren't in the hotel much

The valet prices could have been cheaper.

La ubicación del hotel está bien, a 10 min caminando de la playa de waikiki y a 5 min de la calle principal de comercios y tiendas. Cuenta con piscina. El servicio de garaje es muy cómodo pero algo caro, unos 40$ la noche más impuestos. Servicio de toallas de piscina limpias durante todo el día, perfecto. Máquina para rellenar agua potable y cafetera todo el día, perfecto.

La piscina recibe poco sol durante el día y nada por la tarde. Instalaciones algo antiguas, moqueta en habitaciones, ventanas que no aíslan muy bien, mobiliario un poco anticuado.

The AC was not working well and the draperies and wall looks worn out. Far from the city center.

Staff was amazing. They were kind, helpful, and was willing to assisit smiling. I did have a few concerns I did send an email to the general manager and awaiting a call or response.

Decent size/view for the price

Valet parking was pricey, and they did not even park the cars in the underground parking garage. No matter when our car was dropped off, it was parked in front of the gate to the parking garage, next to the street, or in the driveway. The hotel is definitely dated. This hotel should not be charging resort fees. It covers towels for the beach and popcorn/coffee. It's not equal value to the daily charge, and the popcorn is at select times, so we were not able to get it at all. We had a booking discount which gave us a cheaper price, but we would not stay here again.

I love staying here. The room was smaller than usual but it was quaint and cool. The staff are always helpful.

I got stuck in the elevator for five minutes had to walk down nine flights of stairs, I think it was a glitch .

Our room is on the 8th floor, with a balcony. The view outside the balcony is very good, and we can see the river, the school opposite and the mountains in the distance. In particular, the waiter at the door is really super good. It happened to be the National Day holiday in the United States, and there was no parking space in the garage or on the roadside. He explained to me in detail how to find a parking space. He also worried that I would not have the change for the bus after parking the car, so he lent me change.

The quietness of the hotel overall is wonderful. There is a nice little gazebo adjacent to the Portē- corceriē that is set up for cigarette smokers! As a smoker we're usually frowned upon and regulated to the street but not at the coconut Waikiki hotel. The staff I interacted with were helpful accommodating, FRIENDLY, whatever the need was they made it happen. And don't forget at 3pm they offer fresh hurricane popcorn that you make yourself! The set up is great and clean well maintained for the few hours that it's offered and don't forget to fill you water containers using the filtration system in the lobby next to the elevator.

The shower drained slow , however it wasn't the plumbing it's where the drain was placed . The drain was placed on top of the incline of the base of the shower instead of at the lower level of the incline , therefore; water would puddle instead of draining completely.

Bed is very comfortable

We recently spent 14 nights in an Executive Suite at the Coconut Waikiki Hotel, and it was a wonderful vacation! The staff truly are the hotel's gems—from the front desk ladies to the housekeepers and valet team. Everyone was incredibly friendly, patient, and accommodating. When we requested fresh towels, linens, and trash removal, it was taken care of immediately. Our suite was clean and comfortable. The kitchenette was incredibly convenient, featuring a microwave, dishes, and cutlery. We were also very pleased with the room's functionality: the beds were comfortable, the shower had strong water pressure with great drainage, and the air conditioning ran quietly. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special!

The microwave didn't work some of the room doors are a little bit weird to open up and close the beds could have had new mattresses which I would have appreciated the pool could have been warmer and the basement didn't have an elevator which is where the laundry room is located at

I lucked upon this adorable boujie boutique hotel in the heart of everything fun in this area of honolulu and it was amazing! Not only is the hotel facade clean, quaint and adorable BUT the staff couldn't be nicer and I somehow landed a free upgrade in what was a lovely room on the 2nd floor with not one but two balconies. There is an ABC store only a short distance and in any direction, you will amazing views and food places. So many choices. The AC was perfectly perfect and the bed was heavenly! Thank you for the best trip ever, business or pleasure! I would be thrilled to come back ans stay again and again! Mahalo nui loa, 🥰

Great value older hotel

Jó a hotel elhelyezkedése. Tetszett, hogy volt.vízszűrő és ingyen kávé/tea a lobbyban. Aranyos gesztus a délutáni pop-corn készítő. Ár-értékarány szerintem jó volt.

Az első napokban még nagyon sürögtek a takarítók, aztán a hét másik felében már nem annyira. A szobában vagy a teraszon jó lenne olyan eszköz/szárító, ahol száritani lehet a vizes ruhákat.

We absolutely loved the location, and the mountain view. It is a quiet and pleasant lagoon side yet very close to hustle and bustle of Waikiki tourist area, easy walk for dinner, stroll, shops or the public transport. Tea/coffee/water available 24/7 The pop corn in the afternoon was always welcoming, make us feel at home. Lobby area is simply but spacious and clean. Staff are very polite and pleasant. We will absolutely stay here again and highly recommend for anyone looking for a simple, safe and comfortable stay.

The pool was very small and towels were not ‘hotel whites’.

It felt clean and organised. I liked the decor and my view of the canal and mountains. Free coffee is a plus. Not far from the beach and shops. I enjoyed my swim in the small but heated pool.

Parking

It’s an older property but maintained fairly well. There is a coffee/tea station and a unit to fill water bottles in the lobby. There are ample places to sit in lobby and even a reading/game nook - which was not illuminated but should be at all times to be more inviting. The room was clean and the bed comfy. I appreciated the mini split air conditioner which is quieter than those clunky and loud A/Cs you find in older hotels. The location is a short walk to Waikiki and there’s a coffee bar, Arvo, a few doors down at The Surf Jack. The staff are very friendly.

The cabinetry in the room was a little wonky and in need of attention. Every wall and cabinet was painted over to give the room an updated look. Unfortunately, fixes like that don’t last long. But honestly, that’s so minor considering the price comparison in Waikiki. We had a room overlooking the Ala Wai canal with a view of Honolulu and also a very busy street below us which kept my husband awake. I used ear plugs and slept fine.

Location was good

The alarm in my room had been left set by a previous guest and went off at 5:00 AM. This is something that should simply be checked as part of any standard room preparation before a new guest checks in — it’s basic housekeeping. When I raised this at the front desk the next morning, the only response I got was “oh my god.” No apology, no accountability, nothing. Overall, I left feeling disappointed and tired.

The staff is amazing and the room super clean, nice and with an amazing view. The valet parking was great too… I’m sure that I will be back

We LOVE this hotel! We had an awful experience at a different hotel down the street and decided last minute to cancel and book the Coconut Waikiki because we had a good experience in the past. We told the staff what happened and they gave us a complementary upgrade! From now on, we will always book with the Coconut Waikiki when we visit. The entire staff are so helpful and so sweet and the rooms are so comfortable and clean. We will be recommending them to all our friends and family. We love you Coconut Waikiki!!! ❤️

Wow—what a pleasant surprise! Some people mention that the hotel, particularly the rooms, feels a little dated, and while the bathroom may be on the smaller side, the location is absolutely amazing and offers great value for money. The filtered fresh water was a lovely bonus, and the daily fresh popcorn from 5–7 pm was a fun touch. The coffee didn’t quite suit my taste, but I would still happily give the hotel a 10/10 overall. The gym is small but excellent, with a great range of high-quality equipment. I also appreciated the nice kitchenette and having a kettle in the room. The staff were incredibly friendly throughout our stay, Coconut Waikiki really is fabulous. There’s no breakfast provided, but that just gave us the chance to explore some of the many lovely places nearby (easily found on Google!).

The noise!! Couldn't sleep at all night 2. Not sure if it came from in building or outside. Sounded like machinery/ elevators or fixing something not traffic or humans

Friendly staff. Super clean nice rooms with soft clean sheets, large TV, nice bathroom and a balcony. Small unimpressive pool. Coffe in the lobby is weak but it's there. Filtered water in lobby is a must. Parking costs $40 a day, valet only but I got away with parking on the street and despite not feeding the meter I never got a ticket nor saw any parking tickets being issued. There is ABC conveience store on the corner and a great food truck serving burgers and fries on the corner as well. Waikiki beach and all the shops are just 3 blocks away. Only thing missing from my time in Waikiki ws a phish show

La ubicación es relativamente buena, a 10-15 minutos andando de Waikiki beach. Por las mañanas en recepción hay café y tés, lo que es de agradecer. El personal en general muy amabale, exceptuando la chica del pelo con trenzas, la cual parecía que le molestara que le hablaran. El resto del personal muy amable y atento.

La primera mañana vimos dos pequeñas cucarachas en la pica, las tiramos por el desagüe y ya. Pero la segunda tarde al entrar a la habitación vimos otra por el suelo, por lo que bajamos a recepción para que nos cambiaran de habitación, lo cual hicieron sin problema, exceptuando que estaba la chica de las trenzas africanas, a la cual parece que no le gusta que le hablen.
