Location is fine, but not enough...
Rooms and common places aren't well kept, and cleanliness (especially in room's bathrooms) is somehow lacking. No toilet brush in bathroom. No proper luggage room (just an unscorted space rear of an ice-cream freezer), excess of air conditioned in breakfast room and hall, freezing temperature inside (it pollutes a lot and is completely meaningless; alerted the staff but nothing changed). Sometimes I got the feeling which was an almost abandoned building... Definitely under expectations, and not in line with Accor's standards.
Het personeel, want dat was heel vriendelijk.
De hygiëne! Alles in de kamer was oud, opgelapt en niet goed schoongemaakt.
Was set back away from Town but within walking distance
Room wasn’t big enough
Very clean throughout the hotel of what we saw
Good location and parking available
Parking should be free for guests Room wasnt clean
Spacious, had a chalet round the back of the hotel which was tucked away and very quiet
Nothing
Location
Lack of bar staff ,due a referb so very basic
Nice
Noise level. Walls very thin.little sleep
Reception staff not experienced
Location
The hotel is conveniently located near the coastline, and the staff at reception and in the dining area were genuinely very friendly and welcoming.
Еhe overall condition of the property was a major disappointment. The hotel feels extremely outdated and tired, with a stale smell lingering from the old carpets. We paid 150 GBP for it, We booked a compact room, but we did not expect it to be quite this bad: Bed & Space: The bed is built directly into the wall, leaving zero legroom. If you are over 175 cm tall, you simply will not fit. Cleanliness: The room was very dirty, covered in greasy fingerprints. The bathroom exhaust fan literally had thick layers of dust hanging off it. Bathroom: The sink is so tiny that it is awkward to even wash your hands, let alone your face. To make matters worse, the shampoo provided was diluted with water. Maintenance: The walls were dirty with mismatched, sloppy patch-up repair jobs that completely differed from the main wall color. While the staff and location are great, the room quality and hygiene urgently need attention.
Location.
Lack of staff. One person doing bar and reception most of the time. Rooms look like you are in a hostel.
We booked the superior room and found it very clean. You definitely get value for money - it's a no frills experience, but clean and accessible. We had the room cleaned every day (just basic stuff) and it was overall very quiet.
There was construction work nearby so we could hear that first thing in the morning , but it's not a fault of the hotel.
Nothing
It was falling apart
Near to the beach
Rooms comfortably
The room was a nice size
My room was upgraded but the shower & tv didnt work 🤷♀️. Could also do with more milk only had 4
The room was spacious and comfortable
The breakfast was diabolical. No swimming pool as advertised No easy access for disabled/pram, no way to call reception for help with the stair lift Staff are slow and not exactly welcoming. Zero enthusiasm.
The room was clean and adequate.
Booked a superior double room. The room was small and had two single beds pushed together. Not a double bed. Disappointed.
Everything was exceptional! The personal, the beds, the room, the lounge, the breakfast... Definitely will visit again!
Location and the surrounding environment, excellent. It's proximity to the beach, the shopping centre and restaurant, also deserves a recommendation.
The sofa bed provided for my child was absolutely disappointing A hotel of any grade should provide at the bare minimum a fridge, this is not so with ibis style hotel which makes it hard to fathom The bathtub is situated too high, can post a danger of falling for a child and some adult. Parking charge is criminal, as a customer i should be able to park for free or hide the charge into the hotel bill, not additional. You might ask, what about the non driving customer? Apply a discount at the point of booking.
They didn't have to swimming pool open and there was no dinner only breakfast
This hotel was ok the location was ok, the bed was quite big in the room we booked which was a supior room
Dangerous Bathroom Hazard: The bath/shower has very high sides. I slipped while getting out, and when I grabbed the wall rail for support, it ripped right off—it is cheap, clip-on plastic made to look like metal, not an actual secure safety fixture. I ended up with severe bruising on my forehead, arm, leg, and foot. Indifferent Service: When I reported the injury and the fake safety rail to reception, the staff member was completely unbothered, responding with a dismissive "ooh" rather than logging an incident report or offering help. I did requested a bath/shower mat to be put in the bath, i understand places don't use these as there unhygienic but in my experience id rather have a bath/ shower mat inside the bath as I wouldn't of slipped as I was getting out the shower! No Bath Mats: The hotel does not provide non-slip bath/shower mats inside the tub, making the high, slippery bath even more dangerous. Unattended Bar: The hotel bar does not serve food and has a very limited drink menu. It was staffed by one person who kept disappearing, leaving guests waiting extended periods even after using the call buzzer. Overpriced Parking: On-site parking was on the expensive side for what was provided. We will not be staying here again as there are far better, safer options in the area.
Staff
Noisy air con even when off. One wall awaiting decoration. TV not working. During rain water was leaking from above onto the window ledge. Very noisy and then I discovered the main window would not open or close.
Loved the location and had a very enjoyable stay. Friendly staff. We will stay again..
Location is excellent, so close to the coast.
When we arrived we noticed both toilet rolls were dirty. I showed the photos to reception and they were quickly replaced, which was good that this was resolved straight away. Late in the evening, when we switched off the AC every few minutes the AC made a buzzing noise and after some time we flagged this up with reception and we were given a different room. Top marks for rectifying the issues quickly which made a big difference, it's just that It's a bad experience for a break away.
The bed was large and the linen and pillows were comfortable and plentiful. The interior was modern! The location is great! The overall aesthetic of the common areas was great!
The refurb is a simple refurb and the room and bathroom were lacking modern touches. They had painted over old ceilings to create the image of a new product. But in fact the bathrooms were pretty lacklustre and looked old. Old showers, albeit with great pressure! I dint think it warranted the price paid. But i appreciate its summer holidays in bournemouth! The reception staff also ledt very little to be desired and wete simply not interested!
Everything 1st class
Nothing
Loved the upgrade when there was an issue with original room
When we first arrived, there was no one at reception
What you see on arrival is a refreshed front reception with sad staff
Everywhere is tired, I believe it used to be a best western, garden is unusable, swimming pool is all padlocked up ( not that they said there was a pool to be fair. Bathroom entry into bath was dangerous, sink was tiny, water took ages to drain away, no plug on sink, air con temp could not be changed, and breakfast felt like it was yesterdays each day. All the staff are bored, they all look like they hate their jobs.
The location
Value for money
Nothing stands out in particular.
NA
breakfast decent, bright spark was the breakfast staff, especially Josie the cook.
no cupboards in any of the rooms and only small hanging rail for clothes. small room. Only one hook and ours was missing, just a gaping hole. Toilet did not flush properly. Either foot towel or hand towel or both not replaced when taken way - 3 days in a row. No phone in rooms, reception ignored requested WhatsApp messages. No lunch or evening meal available so and to eat out-with a small child. How booking.com could give it 4 stars astonishes me - we were misled.
The most confortable bed ever!! Very spacious and accommodating room.
The shelves right above the sink made it tricky to access to the sink itself
Nice location, clean bright hotel Air conditioning eventually fixed.
No warning the swimming pool was out of use (and had been for a very long time). Air conditioning temperamental and also had been for a while.
Liked the surrounding and location .
There was only one lift in lobby and that was super slow and Family room was not very good
close to the beach, parking on site,
air con not great, not sound proof
Nothing
Customer service was atrocious, room was dirty, reception area was not maintained well. Put in wrong room, then told could change at 11:50pm!!! Or go home to get a full refund!
The property was good and room was so spacious. I had works room which was more than enough for 2 adults with 2 kids. The breakfast was also very good. They had pork sausage and when I asked for veg they brought few veg one too.
The WiFi is not good. If you have rooms within building then it’s good. Since I booked their works room and they are littlebit separate like 1 flat room so WiFi was not good.
Bed was comfortable
TV didn't work it took about 5 conversations with reception to get it sorted Breakfast just poor No outside area Very tired rooms
It's clean, it has AC, large bathroom, good bed, pretty much all you need for a night or two. Has parking at decent £15 per night.
Door hinges seem to be busted (well, one of them was literally separated, other 2 still holding on partly), key card didn't work first time for some reason. I don't know why hotel allows random people gather at the entrance and talk loud all night.
The location was fairly close to beach
Our rooms were not ready and there was no water in the hotel when we arrived, and we did not get adjoining or rooms close enough since we were travelling with 3 kids under 10 years it was difficult to manage between 2 rooms that was away from each other . The second night they changed our room to closer . Still not ideal.
Location
Constant issues, no water for days, fire alarm test going off at midnight
Nothing
The only reason we booked this hotel was because of its pool facility as said on the website. However when we asked the receptionist about the pool and why it wasn’t there they answered that it hasn’t been open since last year. If something was unavailable for that long why has it not been amended on their websites. The air conditioning in our room was not working at all. There was this ghastly smell, that would hog our room every time we would enter. The breakfast was absolutely horrendous, with no vegetarian option at all. It was said to be a breakfast buffet, with only a few dishes and a salad bar. It was said that the hotel was 10 minutes away for the beach which was a lie as it was around 20-30 minutes away instead. We were out one day at the beach and came back to the hotel to have a shower, only to find the shower and taps not working, as there had been a leak in the water tank. There was no text message or an email set out to notify us of this inconvenience at all. My children had to sit with their wet hairs for hours until it had finally come back. We ended our holiday with my children and I with fevers and sickness and our stomachs not having our moneys worth of breakfast because of how terrible and lacking it was. We would have spent 100 pounds less for whatever that was. Overall the experiences was completely appaling and absolutely terrible I will not be recommending this hotel to anyone in the near future it was an awful experience and not worthwhile at all.
Bed was comfy. Staff trying their best
Advertising photo suggested indoor swimming pool. I asked about it, just a plain “no”. Parking additional £15 a day, cameras and signs. Not run by hotel. Not welcoming. Central location? £8 taxis or a 30 min up hill walk from the town. Breakfast basic, no bacon. Items kept running out, clearly fresh as being cooked to replace. The staff. We’re doing their best, but I would imagine they were all new.
Reception staff and house keeper very great and friendly but the breakfast waiters very rude not polite at all not do there Job,breakfast very poor no choice like fried eggs or tomatoes or mushrooms and the food no testey very dry until no Manager to speak too when I ask to speak to the Manager, Plus kids bed was sofa bed very poor Quality material wasn't comfortable but our bed great and comfortable.
Very Clean, ok location and very quiet.
The location was the most enjoyable part. The ladies who helped at breakfast time were sweet.
Our room was small for a family of 4 including a cot. On arrival our room carpet was wet and there was no cot included even after requesting on booking and reminding via email (with response to confirm it woud be set up). The cot then provided was terrible and unsafe for a baby. Thankfully we were provided with a new one but that was around 11pm when kids were asleep, they were under staffed. The pull out bed was awful. The breakfast is average and a lot of the time you are waiting for more food to come out, and/or glasses, mugs etc. They offer a 24/7 WhatsApp chat (no phone in room) and I am still awaiting a reply 2 days on. There was no hot water for 2 nights which is not ideal after days at the beach and with small children. Our bathroom door did not close. The reception staff seemed to direct people to the sister hotel (Queens) a lot and note there is not swimming pool on site. You have to go to Queens Hotel and the reception staff quoted £15 pp for 2hrs so we did not bother. Very disappointing all round and not a 3*/4* as Booking.com implied.
Дуже чисто та затишно! Спуск до моря за рогом…
Нет є що не сподобалось, але маленького холодильника не вистачає. Чи то водичка чи морозиво треба покласти кудись…
Easy location to the beach and huge bedroom, staff were very friendly.
No iron in the room,
Location was good for visiting friends. Shower worked well.
The hotel felt like it was due for refurbishment in the rooms. Staff were quite hard to find on arrival. Also, the previous guest had left clothing in my room.
The rooms were clean We booked 3 rooms and all 3 had a bathtub Staff were lovely Swimming pool was closed for 18 months but no problem.
The buffet options were less than expected. 12.95 per person rather than 7.50 as booking.com says.
Location is good, a 10 minute walk to the beach front, parking is convenient onsite and not over priced
Room was very small, over priced for the room size, but I guess it is peak holiday season so that may have played a part, room was a little tired, hotel needs a makeover, example, water stains on ceiling in bar area from flat roof, breakfast was ok, not great, but ok..
Really close to the beach.
Couldn't get a proper shower as I could not get warm water. It would extremely hot or cold. Also not a great breakfast. Scramble eggs were only white and not much choice.
Clean room with all amenities in good working condition, including AC, friendly and helpful staff, exceptional location, literally 7 mins walk to the beach.
I liked everything.
Rooms were on ground floor as requested
Water was cold in the shower, I reported it and was told by the receptionist this was because they only have one ‘thing’ which I did my understand. My mum had to have a strip wash because the water was so cold. Breakfast opened at 7 but was never ready at 7. Sometimes it was 7.30 before everything was brought out. No disabled access to the reception. My mum has mobility issues and had to climb yeah stairs to reception
Comfy bed
Didn’t provide soap
It was only walking distance to the beach, which was perfect
The room was quite small and the shower didn’t seem to work properly. He had to really force it round to turn it on and also when we went down to breakfast there was dirty plates and cutlery at the tables which haven’t been cleared up and also there was no fresh cutlery or glasses. I had to ask for cutlery and a glass for a drink which they did eventually provide.
Convenient fot a gig we went to at that end of town The street was pleasant. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Didnt't eat there. Bedroom layput was odd. Headboard in front of window. Decor and carpets very odd amd need updating. Only 2 coat hangers.
Lovely and clean smelt fresh every day all interactions with staff was great
None
Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing due to several issues that could have been avoided. We received a £100 parking charge after leaving our car briefly to unload luggage. I had asked reception beforehand if it was OK to leave the car there while taking luggage to the room and was told it would be fine. However, we were later told we had exceeded the 10-minute limit, which was never explained to us. With the lift out of order and our room on the third floor, the process naturally took longer. The hotel advised us to deal with the parking company, despite us relying on the information given by their staff. The room had a strong artificial air freshener smell, poor air conditioning that barely cooled the room and temperature can’t be adjusted, and limited storage space for a Superior room. The hairdryer intake was also blocked with dust, suggesting poor maintenance. The lift was out of order, forcing us to climb three floors Other issues included noisy doors that slammed shut, a disappointing breakfast with poor-quality coffee, and a duplicate payment issue that required extra time contacting both Booking.com and the hotel. Overall, the experience was terrible. The most disappointing part was the lack of support and ownership from hotel management in resolving issues caused by the hotel's own communication and processes. Being left to deal with the parking charge despite following the receptionist's advice, along with the billing issue, has significantly affected our confidence in the brand. We would not choose to stay here or at other hotels within the same group (Accor) again.
We used superior room and was very good size and air-conditioning worked very well, Also booked early and good value for money
Parking cost is quite expensive
From being welcomed on arrival the room was clean The staff were nice and helpful Overall everything was excellent
Room was clean and bed was comfy.
The staff rudeness when they decided to put me and my partner and child in a "compact room" when I booked and paid for a double room. Manager said "I don't control the images on the site" he was quite dismissive with his attitude and hand gestures. I was right and they moved me into a double room but I do not appreciate the attitude from the manager.
Check out 12 o’clock but they kept our luggage until 5pm
I used to travel a lot. The first time I experienced in this hotel. We stayed there 3 nights, the first day , we can get the room key. From second day , when we back to room , we have to go to reception and asked to open our room. When I asked why, the key system is error or something they said. That was not true, I saw next to our room, they hold their own key. I was thinking to speak hotel manager, but I don’t want to ruin our family holidays with the room key. Let me advise hotel manager, please check your reception, how could they treat us like this.
Location
Size of room
I like the entrance of the hotel and the lobby. Very nice cosy area sitting downstairs by the bar.
Very small lift. Could hardly fit my luggage.
Reception staff was very helpful
The bathroom was dirty we found the toilet seat urinated and some ladies tampons used
Nothing
Everything! No hot water for 2 days. Loud guests. Super small rooms that claim to be large. Tiny elevator for 1 person and 1 suitcase. Overly strong smell of fragrance. Bathtubs don’t drain. Need I go on?!?!?!?
It was a big bed.
Firstly there was no hot water in our first room. We got moved to a second room which also had no hot water and when you ran the shower the whole bathroom smelt like the drains. We got moved a third time again no hot water and when my husband went down to complain for the third time the receptionist wasn’t even apologetic and we were told to wait it out. The bed was very uncomfortable. The bathroom sort handle had been put on upside down. The door of the room looked as though it had been kicked in as there was blown wood on each side. Also the price of the parking was extortionate. When you could park down the road for a lot less than this.
Overall wonderful
Everything nice
Location
Not a 4*
Good location, value for money.
The hotel was about 15 minute walk to beach and town which was good. The room was basic but ok for a 2 night stay although house keeping never topped up tea bags, biscuits etc. we had a drink in the bar, there was also a basic food menu. Not much choice on the buffet breakfast however, was ok for the price.
On arrival staff seemed to be either a little under pressure or just not interested! I was charged £45 to stay 2 nights in the carpark which I did mention at check out , ( he just smiled)besides that happy with staff on checkout.
The lady at the bar was awfully friendly and helpful, easy walk to the beach
Issue with air con unit, leaked all the way down the walls and left the carpet soaked and smelling.. also left in the room was a massive condenser unit, which wasn’t ideal for my 3 year old daughter and 8 year old son. Dead wasps in both windows and thick dust as well as smelling of fresh paint. Raised the issue on air con and was told “no more rooms available and had to put up with it.” Breakfast was very limited and would probs advise not getting breakfast there if you can help it. The lady who was cooking was lovely and was trying to make a conscious effort for other staff to be a bit more better over all but seemed like it went on deaf ears. Handed over the key card and no questions on how our stay was or even a goodbye or thank you. Car park is over priced, if happy to parking out in the road is free from 5pm to 9am depending on your stay.
The location is ideal to the beach and local food and bars. The staff were pleasant, however a few issues with the room card not working several times. We booked the Supreme room with 2 kids, it was not supreme! It would be ok for a quick over night stay but nothing longer.
The hotel itself is perfectly located to the beach. Inside the hotel, you can see where they are making efforts to update it. The alarm in lift constantly went off, the room we booked was not supreme, or should not be labelled supreme, poor shower , uncomfortable bed, issues with room card. I was dissapointed as it was a family trip for 2 nights on way back from France.
Pierwszy hotel w Angli który mnie zachwycił, bardzo czysty,miła obsługa.Napewno bede szukać następnym razem tez ten hotel w innym mieście.Polecam
Nie mam żadnych zastrzeżeń.
The bed was comfortable. Breakfast staff were friendly.
The cost of £15 per day was extortionate for parking. There was mention of a restaurant for light meals in the evening in the restaurant but when mentioned at reception was told they are not doing meals but were told we could use the other hotel across the road. This was never mentioned on the website. No charging point in the bathroom for electric razor or toothbrush which meant we had to go out and purchase an adapter. The light and fan operation, which would switch off after sensing no movement, so when using the toilet would turn off and leave you in darkness, which would mean you having to open and close the door. Wooden sticks in stead of spoons made making tea and putting tea bag in the bin awkward. We noticed stains on the carpet in this area which is obviously drips from previous tea bags. There were 2 cracks in the wash basin, 1 crack on the toilet pan and a badly cracked tile on the tiled shelf.
The staff at reception and restaurant were very friendly, helpful, well groomed , professional and place was very clean and welcoming. Rooms were kept fabulously clean and my room was really large with a bigger bathroom than normal UK hotels. Extremely happy with this place and will come here in the future again. Housekeeping staff were also very proactive and cleaned our room and changed towels. Very happy with the cleanliness and room space.
Nothing to complain to be honest
The king-sized bed was extremely comfortable (but I was glad we weren't using the sofa bed as that wasn't). The room was huge, and if you were using the room for a family the additional toilet would be handy.
There is no light switch for the bathrooms, they come on by sensor which is over sensitive and would come on even if you were passing the toilet with the door shut. One of them took ages to turn off again. If either me or my husband needed the bathroom in the night it really disturbed the others sleep. The air con unit was so loud. You could tune it out but it would cut out and start up again which woke us up. Only one side of the bed had a bedside table and lighting configuration was weird with one side having a reading light and the other having a round bulb hanging down, the lights by the bed weren't independently wired so lights were on or off. Generally the lighting in the room hadn't been considered. Since booking in March the car parking price increased from the £10/day advertised to £15. Additionally breakfast had increased from £7.50 to £12 50. When I queried this I was told they had taken over 2 weeks ago hence the bump in price as they now offered "a cooked breakfast". Their idea of a cooked breakfast and mine do not tally. We ate breakfast there the first day. The scrambled eggs were grey, the sausages looked anemic and I would question how much meat was actually in them. I only know what I was drinking was coffee because the machine told me it was. I would honestly recommend that anyone staying here avoid the breakfast at the hotel and eat out. (Norwegian Wood Cafe is a 5 min walk, it's cheaper and so much nicer). The Ibis Styles Bournemouth is a budget hotel but with extra costs it's not that budget friendly. We are coming back tomorrow Bournemouth later this year and I won't be booking here again.
Lo cerca que está de la playa y el desayuno.
Funky decor in main areas and friendly staff
Room decor was dated, shower temperature was cold, parking at hotel was £15 per day and the spaces are so narrow !
Comfortable bed and location.
Carpet was very stained, bedside lights did not work, no drinking water in bedroom, bathroom lock broken, expensive parking for clients, staff not friendly.
the bed
the food appalling, hardly any breakfast available, room door slams everything. someone opens a door in the hallway, room was basic, TV could get barely 4 channels, no pool, overpriced parking.....disappointing
Staff were pleasant and as helpful as possible. The bedroom was comfortable and spacious. It was clean, and only a few minutes walk from local amenities. It was dog friendly.
Though dog friendly , it didn’t have a dog waste bin nearby outside, and there was not one close by.
Location was good
Very dated, awful view, parking was stated to be £10 but it’s now £15
Main reception and rooms were clean and well presented.
There were what looked like tea stains on the carpet and the bottom of the bathroom door was swollen and the laminate peeling off due to the poor design of the shower lay out. Air conditioning also broke during our stay and it took longer to fix than anticipated and the communication around that was poor.
Location as it was walkable to the beach, train station and local amenities. The room was clean on arrival but we had to make up our bed The room had very good air conditioning which was the only reason that we stayed for the full duration of our booking as otherwise would have departed after first night
No soap in the bathroom which l raised with the front desk and was told that housekeeping was closed until the morning. I was not accepting this due to basic hygiene of hand washing and toucj points throughout the room we were given some liquid soap in a sauce bottle. The soap was never replenished during our 3 night stay. Our room was never made up over the duration either no reason or apology given. We had to ask the front desk for coffee and tea and toilet tissue daily. The room was compact which we were aware at the time of booking as it was purely for a place to sleep. However storage for our clothes we had a small clothes rail with one hanger. The stairwell to the third floor had a light out which was extremely difficult to navigate in the hours of darkness a major heath and safety issue, again raised with the front desk and this was out for the full duration of our stay. This hotel shows all the signs of a poorly managed franchise of the Ibis brand. We will never stay here again.
Clean
Parking - told me £10 per night - but they charged me £15 per night extremely expensive
location
Rooms VERY small - Cleaning standards - average
Reception clean and entrance and bar
Room wasn’t cleaned properly , sink and toilet not touched and top of wardrobe thick with dust not one drawer in bedroom and a makeshift wardrobe just a rail very small room wouldn’t stay again piles of dirty laundry left in corridor for 24 hours
small room, nicely modern, air conditioned. Comfortable bed. Good shower pressure/temperature.
Unwelcome exterior drilling of the building started each morning at 8am. So much for a quiet room. Bathroom had not been updated other than a new loo which was "flimsy" and new taps on the basin. Old plumbing visible, badly painted colour drenching of the ceiling. The bath panel was terrible - the original, badly painted with the old skirting. Shelf over the loo badly covered with sticky back plastic. 1980s tiling in the bathroom seemed to miss the renovation. All seemed a bit of an Interior Design Masters project.
Very clean, modern enough, good location.
AC not working, room was really hot, we didn't have a good rest. Early Sunday morning truck was delivering something, very noisy. £15 per day parking charge is a rip off for the hotel customer. Should be free! Also, near by parkings half the price. Very disappointing.
The bed was clean
We had 2 rooms both bathrooms dirty, 1 TV didn’t work, hallways didn’t smell nice, the restaurant Was shut, no ice cream bar and no bacon with breakfast and a broken toaster
On one of the hottest days of the year, the air con in the bar area and our room was an absolute godsend.
Breakfast and hotel nice
When I booked in January, parking was £10/night, upon arrival, it had gone up to £15/night. That's fine but the fact that I no notification of that whatsoever was wrong.
Location
Very old Carpet smelling very poor breakfast
Klidné místo v dochozí vzdálenosti od útesu a pláží i centra. Dobré a moderní vybavení pokoje včetně klimatizace, konvice a možnosti připravit si čaj a kávu.
