Location was amazing.
Car parking was expensive £50 for 3 days per car As Genius member we should have had a free breakfast but the hotel said they could not see this on their portal. They said this was a booking.com issue and booking.com said soeak to the hotel. As a customer we should not be caught in the middle like this. The outdoor pool was out of use.
The location is excellent. Quite a decent hotel just in need of some tlc
Staff were pleasant but untrained and the bar staff were a bit clueless. The outdoor pool needs refurbishment.
The breakfast was ok but the hotel rates are high and breakfast was extra
We have stayed many times at this hotel but we're very disappointed this time. The room was dirty, the sink very unpleasant. To have your room cleaned you must scan the code in the room. We did it once as bins needed emptying and we were hoping for clean towels, bedding. Not sure this was done. Not a deep clean and still dusty. We will not be returning.
Nothing, anything that was 'nice' was over shadowed by the neglect of the room, pool, general facilities - maintenance and upkeep.
Extremely disappointing, particularly considering what we paid (+£1,160 for two rooms, three nights stay). The hotel was significantly below the standard portrayed in the booking.com photographs. Most concerning was the bathroom floor - when we stepped on the cracked flooring - brown liquid came up through the gaps, which was completely unacceptable and raised serious hygiene concerns. The pool was very cloudy (the hotel confirmed they had a broken filter - meaning dirt, grime and everything was just floating around... the second pool had with a rope sectioned off a part of the pool that was extremely dirty and poorly kept). The hotel generally felt very tired, neglected and in need of substantial maintenance. We documented the problems with photographs and raised them with the hotel. Despite formally complaining and pursuing the matter the hotel has failed to provide a proper response or resolution. Booking.com has also attempted to contact the hotel regarding our complaints without success. I am extremely disappointed, this hotel looks nothing like the photos, they will not acknowledge the issues and booking.com are unable to resolve without the hotel responding (emails and phone calls)
We liked the location and the beds were comfortable.
Staff didn't have a record of our booking, they were not expecting us. When the two family rooms were eventually found for us we were told we were 'very lucky'...no sign of an apology for the confusion on their part. Once we had our key cards we went to 'our' rooms only to discover they were already occupied with people's belongings! This is a huge security risk, we could have walked in on people in the privacy of their room, or less honest people would have the opportunity to have stolen items from the people who occupied this room. After returning to reception and explained the rooms were already occupied the reply was 'they can't be'. We offered to take the staff up to the room to show them, and they looked again at the cards and realised we had been given the incorrect room number. When we eventually got to the correct rooms we had young children in buggies and were given rooms with no lift access to them. The bathroom was heavily stained with limescale. The outdoor pool was dirty and the lino at the bottom of the pool was damaged.

Nothing we arrived checked in rooms was horrendous filthy, floors filthy, door handles broken. The bathroom the entire bath was brown feaces all around the rim of toilet seat and hanging over the toilet brush, hair all around the bathroom, blood on the towel. I checked straight out
All of it, very dirty and I felt very unsafe. As a woman with young children, there was immigrants in hotel on top floor. I checked in and within a hour checked out, ruined my kids break away! Drove 3 hours from Birmingham. Paid £20 parking, for nothing. Waiting for a refund.
The view from the room was amazing. Staff was friendly enough.
The room wasn't clean, even though we had to wait to check in because it wasn't ready. When we ordered full house keeping, it still wasn't done, which resulted us having to go down every time to get fresh towels etc.
Truly amazing staff couldn’t do enough to make sure you stay was exceptional
Big room plenty of space, indoor and outdoor pool
Od kilku lat spedzamy ostatni tydzien wakacji w Bournemout Carlton Hotel. Lokalizacja, dwa baseny, plaza w poblizu, blisko do centrum.
Monotonne sniadania.
Great that they have 2 pools (indoor and outdoor). The family room we had was big and beds were comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast had many options. We enjoyed our stay.
The carpark is expensive, I think it's cheaper to park on the road. The hotel is on a hill, so it's not a flat walk to the beach, although it is a short walk (around 10mins). The hotel is looking tired in some places, for example the carpets and the indoor pool area, especially the wider area around the indoor pool. There was a lot of running around above our room late at night, which was a bit annoying - upto midnight. We did enjoy our stay and I think these things were reflected in the price
very professional helpful staff. Helped with my elderly mother to get her broom very quickly for her.

I booked this hotel specifically because it had a swimming pool, as I was travelling with my children during the school holidays and having access to a pool was an important part of our stay. The hotel did notify me around one week before our visit that the pool would not be available. While I appreciate that they did give notice, one week’s notice during the school holidays was simply not enough time to find a suitable alternative at a reasonable price, particularly when travelling with children. As the pool was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel, its unavailability completely changed the value and appeal of the booking. I ultimately decided not to stay because the hotel no longer met what I had booked it for. What has been particularly disappointing is the poor communication and the way the situation has been handled afterwards. I contacted Booking.com expecting the matter to be resolved fairly, but the response has been frustrating, with the hotel declining compensation. I understand that pools can sometimes be closed for maintenance or other reasons, but when a facility is a major reason families choose a hotel, I feel guests should be properly considered and fairly compensated when it becomes unavailable. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I would not book this hotel again
Was amazing strongly recommend
Non
Location Breakfast was okay
Very dirty just look at the pic The kids chair never seen anything like it so dirty look at the stripes brown The place never been cleaned The swimming pool the water was so cold Honestly where do i stop with this list of things
The bed was very comfortable. The size of the room is very good. The size of the bathroom is decent.
The room furniture is very old. A lot of mold in the bathroom. Old facilities, poor cleaning, blocked sinks. Poor maintainance of the rooms.
Our room was very good and the hotel lounge/bar areas were pleasant. The hotel was surprisingly empty for a Bank Holiday weekend and so there was plenty of space to sit and relax.
The bar prices are high and the cost of guest parking (£35 for 48 hours) was unwelcome.
Great location
Noisy door, floor... could hear anything from outside
Employees are polite and kind.
I felt cheated, it's not a 4-star hotel. The walls of the room were not painted, there were cracks, the shower is ridiculous and bad, and I never saw a 4-star room without a fridge.
The breakfast that you pay extra for was edible
Noisy, mouldy, unhelpful staff
The view, eveing meal lovely and staff lovely
All the exture cost, parking, breakfast and towels Thought compared to the Haven in pool. The carlton was very expensive. We paid the same price at the Haven and parking ,towels and breakfast included. Also the Haven was amazing and our room was beautiful. The carlton seemed said and run down. If we had known about the pool closed and hot tub removed we would no have stayed. We was very disappointed.
Restaurant staff was very kind and thoughtful.
Rooms were extremely hot and fan provided was very weak. Family rooms were only accessible by stairs, which doesn’t help if you have a pushchair. In order to get your room cleaned or get fresh towels, you need to book (?) the night before and if you forget, then this is your problem.
Room was excellent . Although I have stayed here before and the room previously was bad. seems to be the luck of the draw. location is very good . walking distance to centre
breakfast is poor. very disorganised . Much of the food is not there. Just your luck on the timing. if you wanted a continental breakfast probably not going to get it. Hot Food again pot luck. Sometimes there , sometimes not. Staff very disinterested .
Good size room and good water pressure, unlike other hotels in the area. Hot water was really hot. Location is excellent, staff super helpful
Price of food. Had to eat out as could not justify spending the amounts on food. Would have loved to have had breakfast, but £14 (x 4 people) is too much, The Big Arch is 10 minuets walk 3 mins by car to get a decent enough breakfast for less than half of the asking price.
It's a pleasure to visit this hotel, very nice people and great customer service, definitely recommending The pool is fantastic and they also have good food It's more than 4* and the pets are also allowed Great job guys!
We don't have any complaints about the hotel
Did not have any
Parking with a disabled badge was very difficult and they would not let us park out the front of which we had done many many times very sad and totally unacceptable
Large clean room
The parking was extremely frustrating as would not take any card on the machine or app other guests were having the same problem. This making me very stressed for 45 mins losing precious holiday time. No one on reception waited for 20mins. Hairdryer not working in bedroom walked down to reception to get it replaced as was getting ready for show a replacement was in room when we got back. Up the next morn went to dry hair and that didnt work either. I did leave a note on hairdryer when we departed the room. Shower curtain broken and came off the rail as plastic loops broken. One fluorescent tube not working on wall mirror. No sanitry bags in bathroom or drinking glasses. Aswell as all else the room telephone wasnt working no dial tone it was just dead. Seeing we was only staying one night it was a really stressful time.
Close to the beach
This hotel is nothing like on the pictures. It’s a bit mucky, pool is dirty, outdoor pool totally. Some places stagnant green water and so run down. Such a shame. For the price they charge, not what is advertised and what we expected. This place urgently needs some proper makeover and cleaning. We booked it as a 4* hotel and we were very disappointed to find out that it is actually a 3* hotel. How is that possible I am not sure. Won’t be staying again.
This hotel disappointed. Everything is old, neglected, dirty. They probably never vacuum or wash anything. The curtains are terrible, the window sills are full of dust. The outdoor pool is no longer working because it has not been cleaned and everything is dirty, so we didn't even go to the indoor pool because we already understood that the hygiene is 0. The location is also far from the center, about 20 minutes walk. For those who have difficulty walking, the descent and ascent to the beach are very steep. I would never choose this hotel. Especially since you have to pay extra for both the pet and parking.
Generous Room size. Linen and towels were clean
No outdoor swimming pool. We had 2 children so excited about using the pool. The garden was very untidy. No bar at the poolside. Staff were non existent most of the time. The room was extremely hot. Not enough mugs no glasses no water no other teabags. No customer service. Poor property maintenance. We don’t think it exists. Overall very disappointed with our stay. We won’t be recommending it.
location
pool was not properly maintained and was out of action - and the shower in the room had no hot water
The room was spacious
The room was dirty and we had to ask for it to be cleaned again. It’s very old, outdated and the whole hotel is in desperate need of renovation.
The location was great 👍 close to the sea front and the centre of Bournemouth. Breakfast was good lots of choice. The staff were polite and helpful.
The outside pool was closed 😔 the indoor pool was open but very warm due to being enclosed in a conservatory particularly as the weather has been good. Also the rooms were very tired in need of an upgrade I would say and not cleaned to a high standard.
Location was good
The primary reason why we booked this hotel was the outdoor pool. It was closed and we had not been notified until we arrived. Had we known, we would not have chosen this hotel and feel as we have been misrepresented The rooms were quite dirty and dusty, Room service wasn’t great, either the process of it or how the rooms weee cleaned. Dated decor, broken sockets, hanging wires. Quite dangerous for a family room which will be occupied with kids. Two fans left on the room and they were immensely dirty. Any complaints were met with a pass the buck attitude.
Not much
Poor housekeeping Outdoor pool closed with no compensation offered
The bedroom was big and had a lovely view
The outdoor pool was closed due to maintenance problems and we specifically wanted an outdoor pool. We were not warned in advance. The shower in the bath was not good - the plastic shower curtain kept touching my body as I showered. We had to ask for a second bath towel as only one was provided for 2 people. On our 2nd day they did not restock the tea, milk and sugar supplies - we had to go and ask
The size of the room
The pool was broken The indoor pool area was so dirty It felt like the lights were on but noone was home It felt uncared for I hate the fact that you aee still selling it online with an outdoor pool.....that is deceptiveŵ
Large room. Bed was comfy.
Alarm bells were ringing as soon as we arrived with a customer complaining at reception about the poor standard of their room. Maintenance and cleanliness at this hotel is very poor. Heavily stained & dirty carpet in the reception area, guest corridors and stairs. The paintwork is badly chipped and damaged in guest corridors. Bedroom walls are heavily stained and damaged and the carpet needs a good clean. Had a cupboard door hanging off and couldn't put anything inside because it had a big hole in the bottom, loose taps, loose toilet roll holder, kettle full of limescale etc etc. The room overlooked a flat roof but was unable to close window at night due to a missing catch so a little un-nerving at night. A large room with a high ceiling yet oddly not one bit of decor on the walls anywhere, no pictures etc made it feel very bare. Only two pillows for two of us on a superking bed, was clean & comfortable bedding though. It was clearly a very old room but unloved. Took my 6 year old to the pool for a swim. The outdoor pool was closed for maintenance, the indoor pool resembled cloudy lemonade and you couldn't see the bottom which caused concern so we left after 10 minutes. The pool edge is very dirty with small piles of hair and debris in corners along with a chocolate wrapper in another corner. You can't fail to notice all this when you're in the pool, surely someone on staff can see it's not good. On checking out nobody seemed interested in us at all so just put the keycard on the desk and left. To be quite honest, if I hadn't been asked to pay the £120 ish (room only) rate on arrival I would probably have asked for the duty manager and refused that amount. There's a laminated A4 notice in the bedroom that says housekeeping is available only on request. I suspect the likely scaled back housekeeping team is the cause of the main shorfall this hotel suffers from. What was once a great 5 star property is now nowhere near.
Staff were friendly.
Room was awful, filthy, shower did not turn off. Had to wait for two people to fix this, which prevent bathing my baby due to it taking so long. Also £20 to park.
Lovely large rooms, big open hallways, great to have in & outdoor pools. Old school beach hotel charm. Lovely breakfast and lunch at the hotel, would visit again.
No lift to the floor we were on but wasn't too big a deal. Was very hot with it being a heat wave, we had bought our own fan having read reviews and so glad we did. The window locks weren't secured which is stressful with young kids so had to keep them closed until they were asleep. Pools were quite murky on the Sunday being used so much and lots of leaves in there, need to be cleaned everyday
Lovely breakfast and pool area
TV is not smart and room was too hot with barely working fans. Needed better fans at least but was good service overall asides that
The location and the breakfast is good.
The children room had a nail sticking out by the entrance, you can’t miss it, I had to ask the children to be careful when they enter the room.Very hot day, the fans barely working, no fridges to keep the water cool. I asked for medication to put in the fridge, I was going to be charged extra £15.i asked for cot, it was broken. The outdoor swimming pool was out of order for 2days.
The location was excellent.
We had to queue at reception when booking in as the hotel had double booked. People in front of us were told we haven't got a bed for you! Eventually after 30/40 minutes we got to the front of the queue in the boiling heat (no fan in the reception area or a/c). We got our keys and went to the room. The room was absoutely boiler and well over the 28 degrees maximum industry recommend temperature. We had to leave the door open to get some air in the room. The carpets hadn't been hoovered and there were bits over the carpet. There was rubbish in the bin. There was seeds ? in one of the bedside tables. There was hairs in the toilet. My son's room was similar. I have emailed the manager and he has emailed me back today offering me 30 percent off my next trip to this hotel ?? I would never stay in this pit again. I spent just under £400 for 4 people / 3 rooms and expect a full or partial refund. For a 4 star hotel it needs a lot of work and getting the basics right. !!
Staff friendliness, cleanliness of rooms and the facilities
Dishes and glasses around the pool and outside bar area were not collected or cleaned in a timely manner especially when the barstaff noticeably had time to do this. This left these areas looking untidy and unhygienic compared to the other areas of the hotel.
A mixed experience There were some definite positives about our stay. The location was very good, and our room was nice and spacious. The air-conditioning worked well, which was particularly appreciated. The shower was good and the bathroom was clean, functional and worked well. We also had a lovely balcony overlooking the sea and pool, which was a real highlight and gave the room a pleasant outlook. However, there were also several areas that I feel need improvement.
Disappointing in several areas Unfortunately, there were a number of things that let this hotel down. The pool area is in need of some investment. The pool surround and furniture are very worn and tired. The bottom and sides of the pool also had a strange, slightly “floaty” feel to them, which gave the impression that water may have penetrated behind the vinyl. The £20 per day parking charge also feels very expensive, particularly for hotel guests. Food and drinks were expensive too. A coffee from the machine and a lemonade came to £8.95, which I felt was excessive, especially as the machine coffee was not particularly pleasant. The staff could also benefit from some additional customer service training. On a few occasions, the service felt lacking in warmth and professionalism. I was also disappointed by the 4pm check-in time when the room was apparently ready from 1pm, with an additional £15 charge to check in earlier. Given the price of the room, this felt unnecessary. Finally, I was surprised that there was no fridge in the Superior Room. This is something I would expect to be provided in a room of this standard. Overall, the hotel has potential, but several aspects feel tired and in need of investment and improvement. For the prices being charged, I would expect a higher standard of facilities, service and value for money.
The location is great, the hotel is nice and kept clean.Breakfast was very good with a great view. Staff was kind, and overall, it was a pleasant stay.
Booking.com didn't mention in the confirmation email that we have to pay £20 per day for parking in the hotel even if we are staying there. That was not a nice start.... Rooms are clean, but you can feel they are quite old and need a bit of upgrading. Adding chicken or beef sausages in breakfast would bring more options.
The rooms were so spacious, staff were fantastic and it had everything you need with a young family (food, pool, space!)
Only thing I didn’t like was how hot the room got at night, I do think the hotel may need to invest in aircon if the summers continue to be this hot as the room was too hot for our kids and fans didn’t make a difference, we had to open up the door to let air in from the hallways
Not much to be fair . The hotel looks nothing like the photos . Looks like it could be looked after a bit more , refresh the paint for example
-The fact that it’s a sea side destination hotel , which kinda makes it a summer destination spot.and there’s no fridge in the room to keep any cold water . I traveled there with my family and wasn’t able to store any milk in the fridge for my kid. When asked for a fridge the answer was to just rent one from the hotel. - parking is not included in your stay, so you’ll have to pay extra for that. - breakfast is not included - no high speed internet. ( it’s what they advertise they’ve got) -Gym facility has a water cooler that has no water - no control of children in the swimming pool area , they had a hose and would spray random strangers sitting in their sunbeds - if you’ve booked one of the top floor rooms you don’t have a good water pressure in the shower
The only good thing about this hotel is the breakfast and the staff. Although the staff are nice, bless them, they are extremely short staffed.
The hotel is veeeeerryy dated. It definitely needs refurbishments asap. The rooms are not clean. Even the cheapest budget hotel can be better. When we went in, everything is dusty and the worst thing was the toilet. When we went in, as soon as you glance on the toilet, there was a smudge of poo on the side that was not cleaned. Such a shame that a public toilet can be cleaner than this. This is meant to be a hotel where we can rest after a day’s activities but as soon as we got in, everything is just uncomfortable. Hot, fan provided does not even help the heat. The cheapest budget hotel even has A/c. Whoever manages this hotel needs to uo the ante if they want good reviews.
Swimming pool, beach view and the location and the breakfast were excellent.
AC doesn’t work, despite the fact that I complained about it to the receptionist/ staff, nothing was done about it for the period of 6days we spent at the hotel.
Location , near beach
Almost everything, you don’t have a telephone or dial inside room to call to the reception
Wayne the Maintenance man.He was helpful and pro active The location. Perfect for the beach and town centre.
Very disappointed with the general tiredness, of what must once have been, a beautiful hotel. Rooms are very old fashioned but we're clean. Impersonal feel. Most staff look unhappy.
Location was good. 10min to center, and easy access to beach with east cliff zigzag.
We stayed on the third floor, and unfortunately the water pressure in the shower was extremely low, which made showering quite difficult. The swimming pool was very dirty and clearly not well maintained. The poolside surface is made up of very small stones, and many of them have come loose from the ground and are falling into the pool. Another issue was the check-in time. Check-in at 4:00 pm is far too late in my opinion. I have stayed in many hotels due to my work, and this was the first time I have ever experienced a 4:00 pm check-in.
The location was perfect!
The cleanliness could have been better, and the hotel needs updating.
The room we had was fabulous was upgraded when we arrived to a suite
Nothing
Poor Cleaning, left over items from previous occupiers NO Telephone in the Room to call, on site having no information. NO Water Bottles Poor Customer Service
Wife and I have been coming to Bournemouth every August for years - always stay at the Carlton, Hotel is showing it's age but rooms are huge and comfortable, location is excellent (by seafront and 5 mins walk to town centre) and easy to park.
Nothing.
Deluxe room with balcony
Smell at rear entrance
The location is good and short walk to pier and beach. Staff were friendly.
Very run down and not clean. Rooms were dated and dirty no air on and the fridges had been removed. Parking was £20 a day which I feel is a lot when you’re paying to stay there. Bathroom in the room was awful, old ,dirty marks and stains everywhere. The breakfast was basic and limited and every single day they ran out of items like pastries and said they didn’t have any to replenish.
Such an amazing view of the ocean, it’s like a movie scene
I wouldn’t say I don’t like it, but they could have had the pool fully repaired before opening it
Close to the beach, indoor and outdoor pool
All areas unclean and noisy bedrooms, have a lot of creeks
The hotel has extremely good staff it's close to the beach and town always stop at the carlton hotel at least three times a year plus they fo midway an enjoyable ale especially in the beer garden
Nothing everything's always good clean and tidy
Location was great, large room to suit a family of 5
Parking could have been cheaper.
The location. Nice breakfast
Nothing
O banheiro estava entupido, quarto de dois com 1 toalha. Hotel ok mas o banheiro do quarto pessimo
The staff were very friendly and professional. They were great with kids and quite attentive. I would mention, a lot seemed to be quite new but they would go out of their way to help you and find you a solution. Free WiFi is pretty fast. Cocktails where nice and reasonably priced.
The pool is made of Lino, and it’s bulging under the pressure of water, walking in it and it’s spongy. Around the pool is falling apart also. A section of the pool was closed as it was completely brown and green. The cleanliness is really poor, furniture full of dust, taps are rusted, beds are rock hard. Breakfast was completely dry and inedible. Musty smell throughout the hotel.
Spacious rooms nice sea view with balcony
Tired like nearly all hotels In Bournemouth - certain rooms no air con
Very good staff , dated hotel make sure you book a superior room with aircon else not not good in hot weather
Location brilliant right near the beach, our room was superb in a superior standard room top floor amazing views from the balcony very comfortable large bed, tea and coffee making facilities and large remote control tv large wardrobe, plenty of furniture and large bathroom with shower and bath. Breakfast was excellent and I would particularly like to comment on member of Staff called Ben, I am disabled, and he could not do enough to help me at breakfast time and give me info on the area too went above and beyond his role to help me. Hotel room very clean and smelt nice.
We liked to have our morning coffee and eat our breakfast on the bar terrace. We did notice sometimes in the morning and afternoon full cigarette ashtrays on the tables. My Husband and I are non-smokers and found this unpalatable. I feel smoking should be banned especially as there are children around too and its not healthy for them and the full ashtrays do not look nice. Also Guests should be told not to feed the seagulls because they had done alot of droppings on the balcony ledge on our balcony not others, feeding them encourages them.
Charlton hotel looked, then they moved us to sister hotel next door.
East cliff hotel they moved us to was run down, no air conditioning, main reason we booked Carlton hotel.
Food exceeded expectations and was good portions and very tasty - staff were lovely friendly despite sometimes being rushed and busy - rooms public areas clean bed mattress very comfortable good sleeps
Rooms very very hot and difficult to cool In evening despite fan and leaving window ajar
Reception is pleasant and professional Location is superb Room is provided with fans (good for summer) Bar serves varied drinks Let you leave your luggage in reception after check-out, you can stay and lounge
The room is dusty Toilet does not flush properly and smells Water is instantly hot even when you turn the cold water on They don't answer room service and reception calls, you have to go down and ask them directly Swimming pool is dirty, surrounding greens not maintained They don't provide toiletries (basic toothbrush, toothpaste, water cup maybe?)
NOTHING
DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL - DISGUSTING SERVICE, NO MANAGER ON SITE, CANCELLED MULTIPLE ROOMS OF OUR GROUP BOOKING & LEFT PEOPLE STRANDED WITH NO ROOM - ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS RESELLING ROOMS AT A HIGHER PRICE. FACILITIES ARE AWFUL. NOT WORTH THE LOCATION OR INITIAL LOW PRICE!!
The size of room was great
There was no privacy as the rooms next door on both sides could see straight into our room. So had to have curtains closed. Shame we didn't get the sea view that was there. Also very hot week and the general public just walked in and set up for the day at the pool. Accessed from the bar and not from the Spa entrance where they should pay. Lots of parents with kids as the schools closed due to heat. Also only two plugs in a cupboard the other side of the room and none near the bed.
no fan tiny room couldn't open windows
N/A
Very tired interior, dirty carpets, used pool towels left on landing for 2 days, pool wave bar not open, access to pool not possible after 5pm for a few days, no wine list in the restaurant, no iced water in the reception container but early morning, spa not open. Was booked as a 4**** but has suddenly disappeared from the Booking.com website….. It is hardly a 3***
It's by the cliff and the views and access to the see are beautiful. Besides, a goos range of restaurants and places to eat are just a short walk away, as well as the Russell Cotes mansion and Bournemouth pier The saloon and how spacious the hotel is is definitely a plus... as well as the swimming pool.
The bathroom is very hot, and the water to shower comes out too hot. Also, it should be upgraded... I love the vintage vibe it has, however it should have a bit of renovation overall.
It was very close to the beach
The heat was unbearable,it was very hard to sleep. Some sort of air conditioning would have helped a great deal.
The location. The outdoor pool.
Great location
The hotel was a disgrace. It was dirty, the staff were not trained correctly, they had all been there only 3 months, at no stage was there a manager present at the hotel for the whole stay. I question if they had even had health and safety training which is of great concern as there were a lot of young families staying. There was not a glass in the room or any water. My bathroom was disgustingly dirty old and stained! Breakfast my friend and I had to leave and go out. There was food everywhere, all over the counters, on the floor and nothing being replenished, the coffee machine did not work, tables were not cleared for new guests and the food looked inedible. We sat at the pool for an hour, they expected us to pay £1.00 for a towel, there were dirty nappies and the pool shut at 6pm at the peak of Summer!
Nothing
The hotel was a disgrace. It was dirty, the staff were not trained correctly, they had all been there only 3 months, at no stage was there a manager present at the hotel for the whole stay. I question if they had even had health and safety training which is of great concern baring in mind all the young families staying. There was not a glass in the room or any water. My bathroom, the hot water did not work for the entire stay, the cleanliness of the bathrooms in total were appalling. Breakfast my friend and I had to leave and go out. Breakfast good, hotel clean, staff were very good especially barman
All needs updating, fridge in room and air conditioning
Room comfortable, lovely view but maybe a bit soulless. Receptionist very helpful
Room could have been a bit more homely. Pool should remain open after 5 in the summer
Det var lækkert med pool.
Smukt sted, men lidt slidt.
Quiet location
Booked a seaview room , double glazed unit in one of the windows misted Windows only open an inch, room was too hot and the fan just blew the hot air around Built in aircon useless.
Staff,facilities, location
The location is good and the rooms are clean
The biggest issue for me was the aftercare. Several months after my stay, I received a parking charge notice alleging that I had overstayed. However, I left when I checked out, so I do not understand how an overstay could have occurred. By that point I no longer had my parking receipt to dispute it. The notice alleged an overstay rather than non-payment, which suggests my payment had been recorded. This experience prompted me to leave this review. I would advise future guests to keep all parking receipts in case they are needed later. As for the hotel itself, this used to be a five-star hotel, but in my opinion it no longer lives up to that standard. It was clean, tidy and comfortable, but the property is looking tired and, considering the price charged, I did not feel it offered good value for money. Guests should also be aware that some nearby hotels are currently being used to accommodate asylum seekers. During my stay, I found groups congregating outside and, when walking into Bournemouth, I found the atmosphere intimidating. Others may have a different experience, but it did affect our enjoyment of the stay.
The hotel is great just felt it needed someone to tidy the pool area Saturday afternoon just seemed needed someone one of authority to organise this
As above
The pool area was nice. There was a blond guy working the bar on Sunday night, he was lovely.
We were able to check-in from 4pm. So we left our luggage and went to a beach bar for our son-in-laws surprise 30th birthday. There were approx 25 of us. Within minutes the other parties were getting calls from booking.com asking if they'd like to book a room for £300 even though they already had a room booked and prepaid. Everyone then started to panic that they would have nowhere to stay. So we had a booking til 4 then all of us went to the hotel. My husband and I were ok. But we had 2 pregnant woman with no rooms and several others. So as you can imagine, our daughter was stressing and it totally ruined the saturday night. The reception staff weren't helpful at all. We ended up being able to get 6 rooms out of 10. All 10 had been prebooked months ago. We were all supposed to stay Saturday and Sunday. However the pregnant lady and 3 other couples ended up having to sleep on people's floors. They were so i comfortable. So much so that they all went home a day early so the Sunday was also ruined. Those that were left tried to have the best time but both nights were ruined. Our room was also boiling room 124. It was very tired and needed a refurb. Weve been to Bournemouth and booked through booking.com loads of times but this has really put us off. The pool couldve done with a really.good clean too
Our room was excellent, large with fantastic sea view and air con. Nice bedding and towels. The staff were all very pleasant
Disabled access wasn’t so great with a long wait to get someone to help with the disabled lift to get the mobility scooter up from entry level to the facilities and a long wait to get the key to the disabled loo.
The swimming pool is lovely
The bedroom was very hot. No air-conditioning, just a useless fan
Super well located spot, with perfect staff. Every one of them made me feel like home, specially Amy, who was really lovely and helpul with all my doubts about the city. Many thanks!
The location was convenient. we had nice time at the swimming pool.
The room was very hot when arrived, open windows but just brought more heat in. The fans were working poorly, as barely could feel the wind. As a result the sleep with young kids was difficult. price £250 per night, but room facilities just didn’t meet up the price charged. Shower was either really boiling hot or too cold - hard to find right temperature and flushing the toilet was not working properly. Breakfast range and quality didn’t meet expectations and food was not well prepared.
The hotel is tired and the room wasn’t worth the money.
Its just the isn’t as good as its sold to be. The decoration wasn’t up to its stars.
Dobry angielskei śniadanko
Przez całą noc słychać odgłos pracującego na zewnątrz agregatu prądotwórczego.
Staff, swimming pool, breakfast, space in a room and bathroom, easy access from the carpark
Room size was huge, very nice for size. Not good on maintenace.
Decoration, the hotel is run down and needs an overhaul top to bottom.
