Starbucks on site
Ordered drinks through the app to the table. Waited 20 minutes then went to the bar and the ticket had been left randomly on the bar. Toilet was faulty, had to get staff up to fix it. On the last day, the door stopped working. Got locked out for 30 minutes so was delayed checking out. Worst of all, the wife broke out in bites all over her legs and arms. Can only be from somewhere in the hotel.
How clean and fancy the hotel was
N/A
Room was clean and bed was comfortable All staff were very friendly and helpful
Room too close to motorway - traffic noise was horrendous Fan in room too noisy to have on so we had to stay too hot! No central light in room so room was very dark at all times Food at hotel not good
Location
Sky sports in room
Food and beverage price nachos double gin lemonade pint 40
Very cool and modern hotel!!!!
Unable to get drinks once the bar was closed in the morning. No warning. Charged full day parking when we arrived at 10pm. our room was above the smoking area, Thursday night, people were still very loud outside
Place was clean food was good
Swimming times for kids is too short, they should include the information in their page
La situation à proximité de l'autoroute et situé entre Eurotunnel et Dartford Crossing.
La piètre qualité des repas et la réception par trop informatisée et bien lente.
Clean, good staff good food
hard to find , due the location behind the down a small road
Room and gym good value
Pool was closed, restaurant was akin to attending puny football match and food was terrible.
Great location - to be fair good rooms
I use the Village 3-4 times a year and usually it hits all the bells and whistles - however on this occasion - it must have been a training day or a new set of servers were in charge!. I met my son and his family for dinner ahead of my holiday - the food at the Village has always been good - however on this occasion 7/09/ -our food was literally thrown at us! Cutlery slung on the tables - plates of food banged down - part of the order was missed - poor service took the edge off - but as I said maybe a training day they were all very young and in experienced !
Gym and room was great
That we paid for breakfast to then be told you had to have it by 9am not every guess leaves early and we got there at 8.55am to be told we couldn't have it, then the staff when and ate the rest great service not oh andthe dinning room staff was rude about it
Overall very clean and comfortable, nice bed
The pool wasn’t working when we arrived
Location
Swimming pool CLOSED and my room was in a terrible position, no outlook at all just a flat roof and air con units right out side, also I had to pay for parking
Loved the facilities and the modern look and feel
The single beds are a little narrow. Staff were a little awkward? Except at the bar and reception in the morning.
Comfy beds
No use of poolside amenities Lots of rubbish outside the hotel Noisy air vents at rear of hotel room looking onto the vent units.
The breakfast was excellent, wasn't rushed at all.enjoyed every bit.nothing
Nothing for me.
Room was pretty big.
Bath room was neglected and very tired. Couldn't get the kettle under the tap to fill it. Shower sprayed everywhere except where you were. Room lights were weird, didn't seem to light anything. View was of a flat roof and the sound from the pool area (we think) was all we could hear. Bar was very expensive, car park was charged but in our room there was a sign saying that our room came with free parking. Disappointing for the cost.
Breakfast was good, The receptionist Aneta was so nice and helpful and that really does make a difference the hotel should be very proud to have Aneta has an important member of staff.
No complaints at all
all aspects were very good
nothing
The service , facilities and proximity to attractions was simply exceptional . I unfortunately had a health emergency which staff responded to in such a prompt, caring and professional manner. They even called after to check on me . I enjoyed the facilities so much! They have a gym spin class room swimming area- it’s just great . They also have Starbucks in the hotel itself which was a tremendous plus. It's only a 16min drive from St Andrews Lake which has so many fun activities such as bungee jumping, zip line, wellness, aqua park - the list goes on. I personally want to thank the staff for such a wonderful experience - I can’t wait to come back!
The rooms without AC could be a little cooler with better fans
Hotel was clean, convenient location for our trip
Reception staff were very unhelpful it took us three attemps to check in. breakfast buffet was average scrambled egg floating around in liquid wasn't very apertising. Coffee from machine was lukewarm. Bar was short staffed
Excellent across the board.. would definately return. Great food, lovely rooms & great service
Glass bins being collected or emptied at 6am. Range of soft drinks on the menu. Need juice/kids drinks for room service too.
Spacious Breakfast was good, plenty of choice
The shower flooded the bathroom floor The lighting was inadequate The window was broken and couldn’t be closed The view overlooked the roof
Pool and gym great
Getting woken up at 5:35 am by an inconsiderate member of staff pouring glass bottles in to the bin about 5 times The noise wasn’t needed at that time in the morning ruined the stay
I liked the venue as a whole, it was spacious and they had good facilities available
It looked clean but I later realised it wasn't as there were bugs in my room. According to staff, they were pea bugs. It was also very dark in the room except the bathroom. You had to have the blind up for there to be a decent amount of light which was inconvenient when getting changed/undressed as people could see into the room, as it was a electric car charging car park view.
Disappointing return after many positive experiences in the past We have a long history with Village Hotel Maidstone. We were members of the gym for around two years, held our joint wedding stag/hen celebrations here and have recommended the hotel to friends and family visiting the area. It had been approximately nine years since we personally last stayed, so we were looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, the experience was nowhere near as enjoyable as we remembered. Our room was booked six months in advance and we specifically requested a quiet location due to sleeping difficulties. Unfortunately, we were allocated a room overlooking a flat roof with air ducts/extraction equipment running throughout the night. The constant humming made sleeping extremely difficult and meant we couldn't comfortably have the window open. Secondary glazing would make a considerable difference to these rooms. The bedroom was adequate, although parts were looking tired and showing signs of wear and tear. Two fans were provided, including a Dyson, but these created additional noise when trying to sleep. We were also disappointed to discover a £10 parking charge for overnight hotel guests and an additional £5 charge to use the pool. The parking policy seems particularly strange. Guests visiting the gym or having a meal can apparently receive up to four hours' free parking, yet guests paying to stay overnight are charged £10. In my opinion, overnight guests should receive complimentary parking as part of their stay. It seems the wrong way around to offer free parking to shorter-term visitors while charging those actually staying at the hotel. Check-in is now via computer screens, which also makes the arrival experience feel much less personal than we remembered. We had pre-booked dinner and specifically requested not to sit underneath speakers because elderly members of our party wear hearing aids.

I love the food and they gave me king size love the bed ans the shower lovely honestly I will come here again
The rooms were huge and mostly clean and comfortable. I also liked the swimming pool and changing areas. Staff were on the whole very polite and nice and helpful
There was chewing gum in my bathroom from the previous occupant, stuck on the wall and not removed by the cleaners. I agreed to pay breakfast and the spa expecting to pay £17.50 as even though I booked for two people I was on my own, and I explained this when I checked in. I was charged £30. When I asked about this the staff member was very nice and I was eventually reimbursed some money. The breakfast was nice but not £12.50 worth of nice and I wish I just got a muffin from the Starbucks or got something in town.
Lovely venue

Great hotel
Love this hotel
Stayed at the hotel before and very happy with everything. Will use again when next in the area
More bar staff at busier times
The location and fact that is a village hotel, got gym and car park, convenient if motorway
Room smelt badly, was way to hot as no AC. Fans were so outdated that didn’t work at all. Made a mistake with booking date, made another booking and asked to transfer the next booking from Maidstone to Coventry same dates so just transfer of to them sister hotel but they were fuss about it and said couldn’t be done…..
Very modern and clean with good amenities
Rooms were very warm as no air con. Struggled to sleep all night. Had a fan, but wasn't adequate enough to cool the room. Staff not very attentive. Food orders took too long to arrive and not very helpful at the swimming/gym reception.
Missed the little biscuits with the tea in the room. Lol.
The receptionists were very helpful and friendly
Nothing everything was amazing
Didn’t stay second night. Too noisy
Clean comfortable rooms Buffet breakfast was decent Staff were helpful
Self check in computer system was a bit painful, especially when there were staff on the reception anyway who could have checked you in
Rooms clean and comfortable, food excellent
Being charged for parking
Great location and good parking on site
Room not clean, so hot we couldn't sleep, no air con or windows to get cool air, bed uncomfortable.
Great breakfast. Just need to know when breakfast ends on a week day as wasnt so clear
Friendly staff
Room was warm at night
Overall the hotel and staff were very pleasant.
If staff could clear away used drinks glasses, food plates, cutlery and empty ashtray from outside seating areas more more often please.
Breakfast and staff exceptional - food great and staff super friendly and helpful
PARKING - 10 pounds a night - never mentioned in advertising. Disgraceful when you are staying at the hotel!
A little further out of town than i thought but a very well looked after and spacious property, staff were superb, a little bit pricey but well worth it
The facilities were great and really reasonably priced at £5 per room, per night. Swimming pool was lovely, clean and warm and the staff were friendly. The room was lovely and clean, spacious and the bathroom was better than most ive seen in hotels.
The room had 2 fans, neither of which worked and it was absolutely boiling. The matress toppers are uncomfortable and I feel they made the bed far warmer than what they needed to be.
Location
Restaurante dirty. Ordered online and paid. This couldn’t be found at till. Reservation couldn’t be found for restaurant. Noise from deliveries in room. Generator all night. Heat of room was ridiculous despite 2 fans.
Very clean and tidy - the pool was nice and the food was ok.
The rooms were very hot - there was a Dyson but it didn’t work and the other fan was fairy useless
Super pulita e stanze grandi
clean and modern room
no aircon
We used this hotel as a quick overnight stop off on our way to France so didn't use facilities but from what we could see they looked good and lots of choice. Room was well decorated Starbucks on site Free parking
No air conditioning so sleep was disturbed due to us all being too hot even with fan provided. Self check in was easy but staff member was stood behind an extra large computer screen which seemed to be purposely that size so she could ignore us and not even give a welcome hello. We did not have 1 interaction with a member of staff whilst there. Shower was not powerful as most holes blocked.
Friendly staff, cleaniless, location
Very hot overnight in the bedroom, compounded by inability to open bedroom windows wide enough to allow cool outside air circulate due to security measures. The fand provided in the room were quite ineffective
Spa and pool and breakfast
Evening food
Mostly everything
Bar shut to early
Great location, food was nice. Darts activity was a nice touch after a hard day at work
No air-con big disappointment when a colleague paid same as me and her room was much bigger and had great air con. No duvet cover just a sheet . No iron in the room very frustrating but had an iron board ? Body wash not re filled near empty. Paid extra for club room but as I arrived at 8pm (due to traffic) pool closed at 9 leaving me no time to use facilities as food also finished at 9pm ! Spent money on facilities I couldn’t use no offer to reimburse . Room had exercise mat and ball but room was a small space so couldn’t use them
Room just the right size, dont know why there was a ballcing ball and mat in the bedroom Great discount on Prosecco with the discount and a big thanks to Annie Not much of a view though They dont do a Sunday roast but theres a great pub that does the Yew Tree and Sunday live music £5 taxi
The view, although last time we over looked the air con units
Perfect location for Mote Park.
Good sized room, bed was really comfy. Good location just off the M20. We were in Kent for a festival and it served as a really good base - we are booked again for next year, despite the niggles I've outlined in the "What didn't you like" bit. Staff were friendly and helpful. I've stayed in Village Hotels before and this was similar to others I've visited in terms of style, decor and offering.
Room could do with overhead lighting, it was very dark with just side lamps in the main area and the only overhead lighting in the hallway bit. Shower didn't have much pressure so took ages to wash/ rinse my hair. Rooms don't get a visit from housekeeping unless you specifically ask for it - which we didn't find out until we were leaving - you should be told this on check in (this hasn't been an issue on previous visits to other Village Hotels as was only ever there for one night, if this is a company wide philosophy, make it evident to guests that this is how it works) Our room was located on the first floor just over the entrance to the hotel which was hosting a wedding party on the Saturday night. Cue groups of guests outside the entrance having a smoke and a chat until the early hours of the morning which isn't pleasant when you're having to have the windows open to let a bit of air in (there were two fans in the room with some benefit). Car parking - the check in screens ask if you want to add car parking at £5 a day. I added this and it gives you an option to add the amount you need. What it doesn't specify is that this isn't for you to add the number of days you need, it's adding the amount of cars. It calculates the days automatically for you based on your booking. Why it doesn't just tell you this on screen I don't know. When I checked out I realised I was being overcharged (because that's when the system gives you the final balance due), luckily the helpful staff member explained the system and sorted it out, but said that this was a constant problem for them as the system doesn't make it clear to guests and they are constantly having to rectify this for people. It's something they themselves have raised to head office to no avail. So, Village Hotels, are you going to make your check in system a little clearer when people are adding parking?
No fuss, good location, good tv, good breakfast
The receptionist Aneita was exceptionally helpful, top class. Fairly good location only a £10 taxi ride to festival site/Mote pk. Very clean.
Bar closed a bit early on Sunday night around 11.30.
Modern rooms, great gym
Check-in via a screen was frustrating, towel wasn’t very soft and had a big hole in.
first the people that work there was so nice and help full, then we went to the room and its was lovely and the bed was very comfortable, after staying there over night, went to breakfast so much to choose from it was delicious,

Great room for the price.
The pool shut early.
Very clean hotel and room - good breakfast and attentive staff
Shower could have been stronger and the auto check-in at front desk is a bit hit & miss
Good location to see family
Lovely room, with a portable fan, no air conditioning which was disappointing. Staff were very helpful.
Like of proper air conditioning. Food in the bar was poor - very stodgy, carbohydrates, no healthy foods.
On the hottest day of the year and no working fans in the room. They tried but. Pool and gym are great though. Good facilities and well looked after
Good location for our needs and very friendly, helpful staff
Currently being refurbished on ground floor, a quick and cheap breakfast was not available only the full cooked one or a coffee outside at a Starbucks hut.
Love it here every single time! Clean, friendly, great pool and spa, restaurant excellent and rooms amazing especially since the refurb!
Nothing at all !
Everything was perfect from checking in, the friendly staff. The room was spacious & super clean! The bed was HUGE and so comfortable! We played darts and had food in the bar area and really enjoyed it! We do visit often to watch football matches, play darts & to eat there, we’ve also stayed a few times & find ourselves just wanting to stay again. The pool and gym facilities are 10/10. I would most definitely recommend the village hotel.
Nothing. 10/10
We liked the location, nice for a walk along the river, and ideal access to Maidstone studios.
The restaurant was a little dirty, crumbs on the seating and on the floor around the tables, the lad on the bar neads alot of credit as he seemed to be running everything on his own, so we'll done him.
Very nice place to stay and beautiful surroundings. The room was clean. Beds were very comfortable. The food at breakfast was good.
There was no phone in the room and when I needed to enquire about something, I had to walk downstairs to reception.
I liked everything about it they have lovely posh coffee and tea facilities, they supply shampoo, conditioner and bodywash and there's lovely drawers to put your clothes in. Oh and the shower was nice too. Very comfortable.
The only thing I didn't like was I found toenails in the bathroom and rubbish under bed and found the back of someone's earing on the floor in plain site. And I had to ask the cleaner to change my pillow case it was dirty. So not Impressed with the cleaning staff.
Clean and good location for my needs
No air conditioning in a heatwave not ideal. Booked a double and got a twin. Asked if I could change they said they’d check but didn’t and continued to cut my key to the twin room.
Nice location, good size room
No aircon. Huge mistake. Won’t come back because of this. Starbucks closed. Pool limited hours. £10 day to park.
Close to motorway
We were very disappointed with our stay. The biggest issue was the temperature in the room. It was unbearably hot, easily over 30°C, despite the weather outside not being particularly extreme the whole week (no heatwave + cool nights). There was no air conditioning, and the windows only opened a small amount, so there was simply no way to cool the room down. We stayed in a family room with our two young children, including a 7 month old baby. Trying to get a baby to sleep in such a hot room while also keeping them comfortable and safe was quite stressful. Instead of getting a good night's rest after travelling, we spent the evening trying to cope with the heat. At around £155 for one night (without breakfast included) we expected a comfortable room. Basic temperature control is not an unreasonable expectation at this price point. Unfortunately, the excessive heat made what should have been a relaxing stay very uncomfortable.
The hotel was very nice staff were lovely and very attentive and friendly 😀
The heat in the room was like sleeping in HELL. Fans where provided but they were useless in the extreme heat and just blew hot air. Myself and 3 others I travelled with had zero sleep because of the heat
O espaço e muito bom
O café da manhã não e incluso
We didn’t have breakfast as it was nearly an extra £13 per person on top of the genius rate of £137 .
Didn’t like the view from our room , didn’t like not having any bottled water in our room considering the weather , didn’t like how bad the two fans were in our room and didn’t like having to pay for £5 parking even though my husband has a disabled badge ! The hotel seemed more concerned about profit than the customers!
I booked through Booking.com. I booked 2 nights but they only put me in for one. The room was stifling hot, the two fans they had in the room were ineffective. So much so that my sheets were wringing wet in the morning. For a menopausal woman it was torture. I had to book an extra night while I was there but they couldn’t give me the same room, so I had to pay another £180 and it DIDN’T EVEN INCLUDE BREAKFAST.
The fans supplied were ineffective and a waste of money having them there.
The beds were extremely comfy and the room was actually lovely
Had no hot water all night because of a water pipe issue, i understand it’s not anyone’s fault and out of the staffs control but it was still not nice to have to take a freezing cold shower. The pool was very loud too a lot of jumping and diving when there are signs saying no diving so I don’t know why bother having a life guard if people are still doing this
Comfy rooms
Nothing
Room was clean. Staff were pleasant. Breakfast was ok.
The room was uncomfortably hot due to lack of air conditioning and made sleeping difficult. We had difficulty finding a space as the car park was not big enough for the amount of guests. Parking was not free, which we feel it should have been.
Hotel was lovely, spacious rooms, few things let it down. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was lovely. The hotel were very professional and resolved our concerns/complaints quickly and we were satisfied.
They did not have any ac in the rooms, no fridge or water. The fridge was absolutely necessary for us as we had insulin that we needed to store. The hotel offered to store it in the reception fridge. No water in the room. It was extremely hot weather and a lack of the above 3 just made the stay really uncomfortable.
Reception Grill bar area was nice. The pool looked lovely but didn't use it. The room was spacious, and the bed was very high (princess and the pea), but NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! It was ridiculous. Had 2 fans who were useless in the heat. Even on a warm night, the room would have been over hot !!! In a HEATWAVE, it was too uncomfortable. Up stupidly early just to sit downstairs to feel cool. Eat in restaurant and food was OK.
Hated NO AIR CONDITIONING.was a room for three, but only towels left for 1, cups and glasses for 2. Batteries did not work I n remote. I wouldn't stay with Village Hotels again.
Staff were amazing but no air con
No air con
Would have been a full 10 but our first room was ridiculously hot windows could not open much. lucky we got a upgrade to air-conditioning room but if we have not we would have given you a 1 star as was nothing like I had ever experienced. But rooms was all done up clean and bar and swimming pool was great. You need air-conditioning in every room.
The room with no air conditioning
Near to Folkestone
Room didn't have air conditioning
Modern, great facilities, and fun place to stay. Decent food, perfect location.
Don't stay here when weather is above 25 degrees. It's absolutely madness that a hotel in 2026 doesn't have air conditioning. My kids were grumpy, hot and too tired. Sadly.
The staff were exceptional, both before my stay when I requested a quieter room, and on the days of the stay itself when our rooms needed to be swapped because the shower wasn't working in one. I was staying for the Miss Great Britain Kent regional final and the staff were very helpful during the pageant itself when I needed their help with zero notice.
The strength of the shower is very weak, and the rooms get very hot and stuffy, even with the cooling fan and the Dyson fan on.
The beds were so comfortable
Good location for a stop off from Leeds before catching ferry from Dover the next day .
No aircon and it was so hot. Dyson fan in room but was so noisy and didn’t make any difference to the heat. Would expect a modern hotel to have aircon. Complete lack of vegan food in the bar. Arrived late evening and looked forward to a meal before heading off to bed. The staff tried hard to accommodate and I ended up with oven chips and salsa and jalapeños. It was passable but really no excuse to have zero vegan offerings.
All good
The pool should be free
The location is convenient
No air con Room service is hit and miss Food quality is hit and miss Breakfast is average at best
Location was good for purpose
Village hotel continue advertise sky sports but many of the rooms continue to not have this service, and staff that do not know how to operate the room channels ‘require a engineer’ to support, I wonder how they do it at home, just poor excuses for lazy staff
