Always provided. Comfortable warm welcome tea coffee and slightly changed every day stayed there
Nothing. Returned been several times before
The scenery from the cliff is excellent. The game room is a plus.
The parking on the deep corner and across from a section of the resort. No microwave or refrigerator in the room for a non inclusive resort.
Staff Sancia was great. Breakfast ok. Original Room given was dirty no fridge, didn’t smell great. However the staff addressed this immediately and got us an upgraded from. Hotel could do with updating. Sun loungers were not in great condition the basic rooms are like stepping back in 80s Jamaica
Outdated facilities, lack of passion, staff act as though they’re being forced to be there.
Location and scenery
Rooms need updating
We loved the garden side cottage room setting. Very pretty gardens and the hammock was a great feature. It's a quiet area and you cannot hear too much traffic, it's a lovely place to sit and appreciate nature. The staff were so friendly and accommodating from the receptionists to the bar staff and especially the staff in the dinning room/restaurant. The rooms were clean and the air conditioning was really effective. The rooms are simple in terms of facilities (no coffee machine/mini fridge etc) but they are as advertised and photographed so you know what to expect. The breakfast buffet was perfect for us, Jamaican food options daily! We were not all inclusive but we did have a few evening meals in the restaurant, we opted for meals from the menu rather than the buffet. Prices were reasonable for Negril dining and the dishes we had were delicious. Wait time was on average 30mins which is pretty standard in Jamaica. The cliff top views were amazing and the grounds were well kept. The pool was great to cool off in and was next to the bar area, there were no lounge chairs whilst we were there. It was great that they have a shuttle bus down to the partner hotel Legends which is down on 7 mile beach. They also have taxi drivers associated with the hotel; very helpful if you want to explore the local area.
The room we stayed in was lovely except for the fact that the bathroom isn't fully enclosed (it has an open ceiling) meaning that at times we had to coordinate with each other for complete bathroom privacy! The main dining area has a great view and a good atmosphere, it would be great if it had air conditioning in there. It was low season and the reggae band were good but it would be great if they had an additional evening entertainment offer once a week too.
Location and staff were very good

The location is so good
The staff Need to be more friendly and nice with the guest and the internet is so bad and weak
Jó helyen, ingyen transzfer a 7-mile beach - re, szúper reggeli az árban. Reggae Konzert.
The mattresses need to be changed.
Budget friendly with just enough amenities to keep you occupied. Breakfast buffet was great. stay was great. I am an ardent traveler I visit a large all inclusive yearly in Jamaica and other parts of the world a few times. I do staycation in a few small air bnb and apartments and small hotels. I love to travel and Samsara was just the right scenery. I observed cliff jumpers ( not a great swimmer). I loved the space. As a older hotel you can see that thought waa plaved in tge design. The staff are attentive and extremely pleasant. Rooms are dated/ charming and clean. But I love charm, history and character in buildings so I seek out odd rustic stays sometimes. The big resorts can get too similar in what they offer. I was at Moon Palace ocho Rios the week before and I enjoyed the intimacy of Samsara more. We are locals so you know aside from breakfast we ate on the road. The pool we tried was clean but both look clean. I stayed over the 3 feet limit lol. There is 5 feet and 8 feet for the great swimmers. The views are great. We chose a Seaview room on the older side. They do have the more modern side if a more updated room is desired. Great location. Safe to walk to town but we drove. Taxi service is right there by the front desk. Two or more drivers are there daily available for all your travel needs. Beach access at legend is great also. Beach shuttle is provided but we drove over. Although beach chairs can be limited as its shared by both resorts. Hot water work. No shampoo or bodywash are provided or shower cap so take those or you can easily grab affordable ones at any of the near walkable stores. Will be heading back at Samsara someday. But as a traveler... on to the next adventure. I definitely recommend.
The location was perfect for watching the sunset. The breakfast was ok. Overall hospitality was good.
I was very dissatisfied with Georgia’s attitude(breakfast cook). I’ve been to several Jamaican hotels and it’s the first time I’ve was ignored or treated coldly by a fellow Jamaican. I stood in line and saw her greet foreign guests with a friendly smile, recommendations and small talk. When it was my turn she didn’t even respond to my good mornings and my thank yous.
Breakfast was excellent every morning, nice ocean views, recieved an upgrade to an ocean front room, all the staff were so friendly, resort was quiet.
The bathroom had a sink separate from the toilet and shower, really poor lighting in the room, difficult to get ready.
The views were beautiful, sunsets stunning. Shuttle to the beach was free.
Rooms were dated but fine. Food was good but limited options.
Beautiful view, pools are clean and refreshing. Friendly staff especially Tina. Breakfast omelette station and buffet was delicious, the staff was incredible
AC always quit working midday and then was arctic cold at night. Wish there were easier ways to navigate the cliffs
The location, the room the staff
We had a issue with the room which was quickly resolved by a lovely staff
The cliffs were amazing and plenty of jumping for my young tea age boys. Snorkeling was great to and the waters were clear. The staff were amazing, not a bad one in the bunch. All were accommodating and so nice. It’s a smaller place so a personal relationship was developed with all the staff. Views from the balcony was great and the food was great quality. We also got caught in bing with the return taxi to the airport, and here Jennifer the front desk person help facilitate a taxi ride back to the airport under an emergency situation and we were charged fair normal pricing. Miss Georgia (master chef) always serves her food and cooks with love. A everlasting smile. Miss Tina at the bar got to know our likes with drinks for the whole family and would just have it ready for us. Really can’t say enough about the staff.
The rooms were we stayed were dated. There is another section that’s newer and nice. With updated rooms. I would have like d more evening entertainment. They did have a couple of nights with live singers, that were good. But they could have had a bingo night karaoke night or some other entertainment to keep the guests entertained and would have given it a more resorts feel. It would have been nice to also offer a morning exercise or yoga activity on the cliffs. That would make the place more resorts feel like. They are not true negatives just suggestions to make the place closer to a 5 star resort.
Friendly staff. Great food. Nice location.
We were given rooms on the older side of the property and they need to be updated.
Breakfast was prepared tasty, but not enough varieties in fruits, vegetables, tea, None Cranberry juice and other edible foods.
Outside 🚻 bathrooms needed frequent drying, more signs regarding slippery way, railing along the walls walk-way in addition to a life guardians.
The menu was very tasty but unbelievable limited which was disappointing.
A life guard is needed for safety, more safety signs, entertainment, jacuzzi, rails alongside slippery walkway in addition to have another buffet area downstairs, more restrooms downstairs on the grounds, pools great and the ambiance perfect for some personal space.
Good
Nothing
Love having both cliff and beach
Don’t like old rooms and long walk round building to get to rooms in upper level.
Access to the water
We had a filthy run down room, an uncomfortable bed and issues with staff. There are 3 separate sections to this property and each section is very different in terms of quality which is probably why there are extreme differences in reviews...
Absolutely amazing hotel, we really enjoyed it there. I don't know what to praise first, the bungalow was perfect, quiet, in a beautiful setting. Amazing cliffs, amazing pools, I would especially like to highlight the excellent breakfast and especially the lady who cooked the omelettes! Perfect opportunity to use the sister hotel Legends, right on the beautiful 7 Mile Beach. We felt very safe and it was easy to get everywhere, I believe I will come back there again :)
The view was good. Breakfast was good. But I believe could have more local option to engage the culture of Jamaica.
One of the staff at the front desk that worked the day shift. She had a right attitude. Went to ask for beach towel and she gave me nothing but attitude. All other staff was great. But I think for a person that is the first point of contact for the property she needs more training in customer service.
Vista do mar e hospitalidade
It’s a great value for money! The place is lovely, staff great, food is also very nice. Keep it up
Most of everything ❤️🎉
Had to check out before time.
Great location for sunsets.
Two beds consisted of a double mattress on a queen frame, and a thin single pad on a wooden board. Two bath towels, one wash cloth was all the amenities provided. No water, no kettle. Breakfast didn’t start until 8am at which point the mass of hungry travelers created a 30 minute queue to be served. Reception was closed early and didn’t open before 8am. Excessive base from entertainment vibrated to furthest end of property all evening. We departed ahead of plan.
Great views everywhere, sea facing room. Few restaurants nearby. Easy to get to the nearby beach, activities, other popular places although not walkable. Nice pools and sea access through the cliffs
Misleading shuttle service advertised - only goes to beach once a day at 10am and return at 4pm. Lot of bugs in the room. Change of tower request led to them taking away the towels and told you ll get it back after laundry. Breakfast was bad - everything oil soaked and felt weird for hours after eating. Also despite seeming buffet style, its weird - there is a staff member standing there who will ask to handover your plate and give you what you ask for as access is blocked from your side on purpose. Hospitality was below average overall.
Most of the staff were very friendly. Great location, and it wasn’t overly crowded while we were there. Good bang for the buck.
Food was Meh, a couple staff that were not so nice, slack on the room cleaning, still a lot to do cosmetically, possibly from the storm. Nothing extra.
First time I visited this hotel I had a vue room this time I had a outdated room was looking forward to room as befor it turns out not to be
No fridge beach towels not available no soap in showers I expected better after statin at RIU hotel couple of days ago it was not a good outlook for a laa inclusive
The location was stunning and we loved the free bus to the beach. The food was also great
The facilites was run down and the score would be higher if they renewed and changed some stuff like madrasses ect
On arrival we were greeted at reception by a lovely kind lady ,she quickly checked us in with all the usual details ect and we were taken to our room. Our room was slightly dated but had a gorgeous sea view and was very clean. We didnt have a hairdryer and I asked for one and didnt get one for two days, they clearly dont have enough for all the rooms so bring your own. No water , drinks or coffee and tea in room. You dont get free bottled water, there is a water dispenser next to the bar! Had to ask twice to get sheets changed after 5 days. Maids weren't very friendly to be honest, even though we tipped, there is no do not disturb signs which isn't great. There was only one restaurant when online it stated two areas for dining. All the food was good and the staff in the restaurant were lovely and friendly and helpful, but there isn't enough food choice, it reminded me of a school canteen, you get a plate and get served, a choice of two maybe three different meals for dinner, lunch was the worst ,breakfast was the best fresh omelette, eggs however you want them cooking, sausages, beans, pancakes, porridge, kids cereal, only one milk which was full fat,so no good for me as im lactose free so this made things even harder for me, at an all inclusive you would expect at least one milk alternative... fresh coffee and tea available. Generally cater for american taste, everything sweetened for example the bread. A small selection of fruits and muffins. Gladly say I never had an upset stomach! Would recommend Ivans for a lovely dining experience. There was one bar area where the staff again were very friendly, and special shout out to Tina who by far looked after every guest with a smile! All the staff worked so hard to make our stay pleasant. Plenty of cocktails on menu, red stripe beer and unfortunately no wine on all inclusive menu, which to me is bizzare and sad as im a wine drinker! You could buy wine but it wasn't worth it, not nice enough to spend money on. Two lovely pool areas, loungers slightly dated but with cushions on they were very comfortable. There was a small shop down the road just a 2min walk left out the hotel, dont go total rip off, there is a supermarket about 10mins away in uber, still expensive but not bad for snacks. Uber was our way of transport it was cheap and easy to use via the app. Ricks cafe is 10mins away. And negril 7 mile beach 5 mins away, the hotel provide a free shuttle twice a day to the sister hotel which is a total sh** whole, but you can get drinks on the all inclusive and go down the beach which is beautiful and has lots of little bars and shacks. We booked one trip through tui and it was awful, black river and ys falls, travel was too long on a cramped bus and saw only one crocodile which was disappointing 😞 Then we booked our other trips via tripadvisor, so much cheaper and more choices, would recommend booby cay island with lobster dinner and snorkeling! In general we love Jamaica and will be back again but sadly I wouldnt choose this hotel, it was ok for the money we paid.
My partner and I recently stayed at the Samsara. We had a Deluxe room, which was very nice. A big comfortable bed. The room was clean. The view from the balcony was beautiful. There was plenty of hot water, although the bathroom is a little on the small side but functional. There seems to be a problem with clean bathroom towels as you didn't get any until much later in the day which was not always convenient. On a few days we didn't get any at all! The sheets need renewing as some of them are extremely off colour. The all inclucive package is more like full board with drinks thrown in. The food is hit and miss some days very nice others not so good. We ate out most evenings. The breakfast was always good although a bit repetitive. Now to the drinks, they do a list of cocktails that are included in the all inclusive. They are strong but the alcohol used is very inferior. If you want name brands you must pay extra. In general the hotel could do with a spruce up. The potential is there, it could be stunning. The jewels in the crown in this hotel are the staff. They are friendly, helpful and so so lovely. A big shout out to Georgia, Kim, Tina, Chantelle, Marcia and everyone else that we meet. You are the reason people come back to this hotel year after year!!! So to sum up the Samsara a hotel that could be amazing is in some departments lacking. The staff more than make up for hotels short comings. Would I stay there again? Maybe not but when returning to Jamaica I would definitely go and visit all the wonderful staff who made our stay so very memorable.
I stayed at the Samsara Cliff Hotel in March with my husband and 4-year-old daughter. We stayed in a quiet and clean deluxe room and had breathtaking ocean views from both the room and the balcony. My daughter loved the pools, and we adults enjoyed swimming and snorkeling in the ocean. We thoroughly enjoyed the sunsets and the stunning ocean views. From the Samsara Cliff Hotel, we also visited the nearby Rick's Café and took a trip to Mayfield Falls, which included a fantastic river hike. It's also a great base for visiting YS Falls, taking a Black River tour with crocodiles, and stopping by the Pelican Bar. What we particularly remember is the friendly staff at the Samsara Cliff Resort. There was a very welcoming and family-like atmosphere throughout the entire hotel. There was always a good selection of food, and the food was generally very tasty and delicious. The hotel bar left nothing to be desired. We felt very comfortable and would definitely return. The shuttle service to Seven Mile Beach is also a great bonus. In my opinion the hotel offers good value for money.
We really enjoyed our holiday at the Samsara Cliff Resort Hotel. Our room was spacious and clean with a balcony overlooking the sea. Excellent WiFi. All the staff were so helpful, friendly and cheerful. We felt quite at home there.....albeit a Jamaican one. Certainly an authentic experience. We enjoyed the home cooked meals. It's not the usual all inclusive dining experience so perhaps not for everyone, there's no vast buffet selection and the serving area is quite small so be prepared to queue. But, it was good for us and a pleasure. The only downside was the narrow winding road outside which had no pavement so walking safely was difficult. But the free shuttle to sister Hotel Legends on the beach was appreciated. We'd usually walk back from the beach to downtown (25 minutes) and hop into a collective taxi back to the hotel ($5Jamaican =£2.50), so it wasn't a major issue. We really enjoyed our holiday, it's quiet and friendly. Thank you Samsara!
I did a lot of research before travelling to Jamaica. I made the right decision by going to Negril and staying at Samsara Cliff Resort - the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is great and the sea view was spectacular! 🌞
Location
Message response from staff was very slow, replying to our request for a cot 5 days after we had left Breakfast queues very long
Nice view, comfy chairs, good food.
I will say this resort has beautiful views and friendly staff. This about all the positives I can give it. No room towels available upon check in around 1 pm until next day. We had to ask 3 times. No pool/beach towels. We had to buy one to use at the beach. So bring your own towel!! The room, the decor was minimal and room conditions subpar for 3 star resort. Mattresses are very cheap, thin and hard. Overall, the room needs some TLC with paint at minimum. I think we saw mold on the ceiling. The furniture was mismatched. The doors needs greased so it don’t stick every time you open and shut them. It wasn’t just ours either. You can hear others open theirs too. The lock was questionable on safety too. Meals: Breakfast 8a-10a. Lunch 12p-2p. Dinner 7p-9p. If you arrive in between, they offer some left overs. It is Buffet style, however, one person dips everything out for you. This takes more time waiting to get food. The buffet is a lot of carbs such as: pasta, rice, & bread. Overall, some things were good but most not so good. The meal times and style was not in the website. Drinks: It was a very limited drink menu. They only make what is on their list of maybe 20 drinks. It’s a shame to come to Jamaica and not get a Bob Marley cocktail! This was not on the website. Yes, there is a shuttle to the beach. However, it leaves at 10 am and returns at 4 pm. No other times. Otherwise, you can pay for a taxi per person! Then, because so many people go to the beach, they have to make multiple trips to get everyone there & back. I suggest they get a shuttle that runs hourly to accommodate more people and later than 4 pm so you can watch the sunset at the beach. Once at sister locations, the Legends you get asked about excursions or if you smoke or hair braids by the locals ALOT!. This is to be expected. However, the downside is no one is there to help you move lounge chairs or get umbrellas. 70% of the lounge chairs are broken. I did see more chairs piled in the corner which were not very accessible. Plus more down on the side of the building but again no one to help move or swap out broken ones. There are a lot of stray cats on the property too. Also, the ride from the airport to this resort is 2 1/2 hours long! UGH!!
I visited Samsara on March 20 and left March 22,2026. I had one specific .........which I dealt with, because I wanted to get assistance as it relates to if this place was one I would enjoy. Initially she booked me for 2 individuals, after I mentioned to her it would be my birthday and I would be alone, nevertheless after conversations she realized I would be alone and told me it is the same cost for 2 as it is for 1, hence I opted to take my friends along. I was told it is a relaxed, beautiful place with cliffs that I could climb down on a ladder and go in some kind of built in cliff pool and if I opted to go the beach instead, I would be transported by shuttle bus to the sister resort named Legends..........Let me just get into this......Upon arriving, the first red flag is that I was told that I had to pay a US100.00 fee, which would be refundable depending, when I asked on what? I was told in case I broke anything. I was adamant that I would not pay, because this was never mentioned to me upon booking, they are however waivered because of that fact.........My friend and I eventually got the room, which they said would finish being cleaned about 20 mins late. Booking should be at 3pm, and the room was not ready when we reached, we however waited for it to be finished and booked in.............My people, let me tell you..... The room was deplorable, when we were entering the step to go up to our room, specifically room #216, there was a stenge that was unbearable, we were later told it was the pit, Infront of our door was wet, water running. i was the A/C that was draining. The room we got for 2 was the size of basically a kitchen, the A/C fan was not working properly, hence there was a constant sound that it made whenever turned on. When we opted for the fan, it could not be turned on because of the built up of dirt on it......The floor of the room was dirty, despite the fact tit was still wet when we entered. I had to ask for a broom and dust shovel sweep it myself. They could not even find that. they gave me a little broken broom full of dust, I still used it because I could step on the things I was feeling under my feet...........No towel place anywhere, except for one in the bathroom and 2 little, small soaps, that's it. No form of bathroom floor mat. When my friend asked for a towel, she was told they are out........The small room had a mini fridge in it, which was completely empty......when we of asked. asked about this, we were told no fridge should be in there and a customer mistakenly left the fridge there, which of course is laughable.......... Trying to just sum this up. It is going to take too long to write everything. Breakfast is at 8am, lunch 12pm and dinner 7pm....If you are hungry at any point between those times, you are on your own. The bar opens at 10am and closes at 10pm...........basic mixings of drinks, oh, if you would like a bit of rum cream being placed in anything, you must pay differently $1000.00 odd per shot. The bar is terrible, no maintenance whatsoever. The lawns are filled with dog poo that is dried. It is all over......The eating area is small, and you have to be in waiting line, waiting for persons to finished, so you can be seated to eat...When we arrived the Friday and went for lunch we got, a little stew Chicken and a bit of rice, no vegetable that was lunch. We said maybe it is because we arrived late and it was finished, but the next day was the same menu when we went to the sister company Legends, the only exception was, we got a little vegetable this time. We opted to leave before lunch on our check out day, was we got tired of the stew Chicken, which if I might add, we got the same Stew Chicken as a part of our dinner..... We went down to Legends believing there would be some form of difference, it was all the same. No form of activity, little music playing on YouTube, that was it............We tried saying to something, but everyone all said the same thing......They can't to anything......Let me add though, most of the staff was welcoming and nice to talk with.............The Management of this place needs to do something. I am not sure if it is the fact that majority of the visitors I observed there were of Caucasians, not sure. I can only sate what I have experienced. Alot of things needs t b fixed and changed there, you cannot be spending you r money and at the end of the day, there is nothing you can feel good about after leaving..... If you need to iron your clothes, you must borrow the iron from the front desk which opens at 8am. You awake and feeling ill, you must wait for the kitchen to open at 8am.....This is unacceptable and I would advise those looking for somewhere to experience a wonderful time, even a neutral good time to seek elsewhere. This is not the place; you will be disappointed and for some dawn right angry.... I tried getting just someone to listen and even offer that speak to someone in Management or something to even share my concerns, they all ignored me.
Food was excellent with the service from the waiter & waitress.
Needed more activities or maybe karaoke session for few days of the week
The love of the people.
The rain
Samsara just never disappoints!! We've been going since 2011 and it is most assuredly our home away from home. If you are not into the large resorts with their multiple restaurants, multiple bars with watered-down drinks, and WAY too many people, this is your place! Small, quiet and friendly - you feel the staff's dedication to making you feel welcome the second you step in the front lobby. We have brought many friends with us over the years and we have also met lifelong friends while staying there. I cannot say enough about the food - Georgia Dean and the rest of the cooking/wait staff upstairs are amazing! You look forward to each meal but the dinners are outstanding. The rooms are all very clean, well equipped and comfortable. We have our favorite (not giving the # here because, well, it's ours!) but we have stayed in several in the original sections. The newer rooms look very nice and modern but we have not stayed in those. Our son has accompanied us the last 2 years and his rooms have been great! Marcia, Tina Tina (our name for her) are always welcome sights at the bar and we've grown very fond and acquainted with them both. The drinks on the all-inclusive are all awesome and there is a large menu available. The pools are always clean and they are very refreshing. The newer infinity pool is nice for a break and the view is amazing! Speaking of the view, you will NOT find a better spot in Negril to watch the gorgeous sunsets. You can keep Rick's and the massive crowds of people in your way. This place is the spot to be when the sizzle happens! Overall, we have not found a better spot in the Caribbean. This resort will always have a special place in our hearts and in our family because they have made us feel like family. We are anxiously counting down the days until we return. Thank you also to Nestor and Pauline for your endless dedication and hard work. These two always make sure we're cared for and make a special point to speak to us while we're there. Much love to you all!!!
What a fantastic holiday. Hotel is in a great location, especially if you like snorkelling or just laying on sunbed watching the dolphins swim by. Plenty of little local restaurants/bars near hotel, which were also really good. The holiday was made special by the fantastic staff ant the hotel, all really friendly and always smiling and had time for everyone,. Thanks for all the laughs Kimeiko, Charm, Tina, Georgia and Darett, sorry if we’ve forgotten anyone. We will definitely be back and hope to see you all soon Ned and Wendy x
Love that it is right on the ocean and you can jump off the cliffs
We spent 3 lovely week's in samsara cliff resort negril, it is a beautiful small freindly hotel, we had a ground floor room with full sea veiw, the staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for you, the food was very good and the drinks not too bad either, there was a free bus to the beach and back if you fancied a change, there are many bars and restaurants within walking distance, we will definitely be back Samsara, Jayne and Tony.
Love this location with the cliffs. I don't enjoy the beach much, so this was a perfect option for snorkelling and having access to the ocean. This was my second time here, and we came back only for the location.
Literally impossible to eat dinner at the restaurant there. We tried twice, and after 20 minutes of back and forth, we were told there was nothing available for us. Another time, we were told they were only opening the restaurant for a group who had booked it. We ended up having to take a taxi into town every day for meals, which was a hassle when we just wanted to relax. Same story the last time we stayed. The restaurant and bar actually suck. This isn’t the staff’s fault at all, they’re just doing their jobs. But it really doesn’t seem like the owners care much about this beautiful place. It would be sad to see it fall into dereliction like many other places around it. Sadly, we probably won’t be returning to this hotel.
We are an American family, living in JA and we come to Samsara Cliffs several times a year. It’s our favorite hotel in Negril. Great staff, very kid friendly, and the food is great. Recently we had a booking issue but the staff made special accommodations for us. There are 3 pools for the kids, and the cliffs are fun to jump from. Don’t waste your time with other resorts!
We loved the staff at Samsara! Tina, Sharm, and Marcin really made us feel that we were staying with family. All the staff were excellent but those three are really special! We loved the small comfortable feeling of the resort. Understand there is no beach here, but the swimming, snorkeling from the cliffs is excellent and there will not be venders constantly walking through or trying to sell you anything. We were in the older part of the resort room 210 a superior ocean side. The room was great and clean with a nice small patio with a view of the ocean and the smaller splash pool. There are no amenities in the room, but the bathroom was plenty big and there was always plenty of hot water, also a really comfy King bed. We did not go there to hang out in the room, but it checked all the boxes for our needs. There are things to be honest that are in need of attention at the resort, mainly many of the loungers are in need of repair or replacement, but they seem to always be some available. The towel game did not seem to be much of a factor at this resort which is a very nice surprise! And do not forget they are still working to get over a major hurricane. We did the All-inclusive so we ate most of our meals at the resort. Admittedly they seemed a bit reputative but we always found plenty to eat. The meals were fresh, hot and served with love. The ladies running the buffet were fabulous! Busy and a lot to do trying to feed so many folks but they do an awesome job! With the all-inclusive there is a drink menu to choose from with many options, all with local spirits and plenty of Red Stripe! Samsara, does have a way different feeling then the mega resorts, some options are comparatively different and fewer. But this place feels like Jamaica! The employees try very hard to please and are so welcoming, we will be back! Last two things to say, Respect! One love Jamaica! Todd n Shelly
Had a great trip to the Samsara Cliff Resort, booked a sea view room which was great. Yes it’s not your typical all inclusive resort, the meal options were limited however the meals available were good, some traditional Jamaican dishes and great omelettes on a morning. Yes there are areas that could do with a bit of upgrading but, give them chance, they are trying. The staff a great and the drinks are good too. My negatives, bring some ear plugs. There is a venue opposite that plays loud music until the early hours, there are some dogs nearby which seem to start barking around 3:30am and then the cockerel starts at 4:30am. The road is very busy but walkable especially down to Ricks and other local bars. However the noisy cars seem to fly by on a night ! Next door to the famous Ricks is LTU bar, stunning views, amazing cocktails and great staff, give it a try. Give the sister hotel a try, the beach is amazing, if you don’t want to wait for the free bus it’s a $10 taxi ride. I’d say all in all a good stay, I’d come back.
We stayed the last week of February and had the sea view room which was very nice. Had to wait a day and a half with no towels in the room after visiting the reception desk and asking the room attendant twice. The food was mediocre at best. Two days we didn’t even bother going for dinner. The best part of the day was having an omelette made to order. The dining room has no appeal whatsoever and needs a good cleaning and an update. The staff were wonderful and a pleasure to be around. You take your life in your hands walking on the main road. We walked down to PeeWees one night and enjoyed the music and the food, but the walk itself was terrifying. A few people we spoke to simply used this resort as a base and ate all meals out. If that is cost effective for you it would be a good option. I would suggest that you spend more money and find an all inclusive with better food. Also there is a dog nearby that barks ALL night long…someone told me it was the owners residence, but I cannot confirm that. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
This was our second holiday at Samsara. It did not disappoint. We had another fantastic time and will be returning in 2027. Everyone is very friendly, the food was great and drinks plentiful, and being able to use the Legends hotel on 7 mile beach was a bonus. The snorkelling from the cliffs was amazing.
We very much enjoyed our stay at Samsara Cliffs Resort. We chose this hotel in the hope of having a more authentic Jamaican experience and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were lovely and knew most of the guests by name, which gave this small resort a very friendly, open and warm atmosphere. Guests often spoke to each other and shared tips, so it felt like a nice community. My daughter needs gluten free food and when we travel we always worry, but Daniel, the chef, made her feel comfortable. He made sure every evening that two of the evening buffet choices were gluten free and he made sure she was taken care of. She got to enjoy all the homemade Jamaican jerk, stew, curry dishes and loved them all 🥰 Breakfast all had a good selection of gluten free with omelettes, hash browns and bacon being her favorites. The cocktails were strong, but good and Tina was always happy and chatty when making them 🍹 The rooms were basic, but they were clean and most had an uninterrupted sea view. We had live music a couple of evenings in the bar area. I travelled with my mother who struggled with all the steps everywhere that were not clearly visible in some places. In addition access to the sea is down ladders or by jumping in, which with limited mobility meant she could only sea swim by going over to the sister hotel, Legends, to swim at the beach. The hotel also doesn’t have lifts so if you have mobility issues this might not be a good choice. We enjoyed going to 7-mile beach at the sister hotel, Legends, but the loungers area was very cramped on the beach and the shuttle bus wasn’t big enough for everyone to fit in to get there and it only ran once a day. We much preferred the relaxed calm vibe of Samsara. Some of the sun loungers were damaged and these haven’t been removed, but there always seemed to be enough to go around so it never seemed a problem just didn’t look so nice. All bar drinks were served in paper cups that went soggy as you were drinking, but I guess it’s more fish friendly than plastic if the wind sweeps them in to the sea.
Nice friendly hotel on the West End,from the singing receptionist to the attentive staff this boutique hotel is a good budget option. Shoutout to Tina on bar who always had a smile for guests. Samsara offers a free daily shuttle to the beach at sister hotel legends however it only has a small beach frontage & little space for beds better to walk to a bar offering free sunbeds. Restaurant food for AI guests is basic & drinks are local brands however a good cocktail list is included. Nice infinity pool & plenty of sunbeds to watch the sunset & the catamarans pass onto Ricks & back. Dolphins swim by regularly Best restaurants located close by easy to get there with Uber Stayed in 1005 ground floor fantastic well appointed room
Carina molto tipica
We have enjoyed every minute of our 3 week stay at The Samsara. It is not your typical All Inclusive experience. In our opinion it has all the charm of an individual hotel with the convenience of delicious ,wholesome, home cooked food and drinks on your doorstep. Yes, it is tired in places but after the effects of the hurricane that is only to be expected and does not detract from the magnificent views from its cliff side position. You feel at one with nature. Without doubt though one of the main reasons we will be coming back next year is the team of individuals who work tirelessly to give you the best experience. It is like having a big Jamaican family! The warmth of the hospitality is equal to the warmth of the sun! Thank you all - groundsmen, cleaners, bar staff, waiting staff and of course The Chefs. Keep smiling. Alan and Anne.
The location and sunset on the cliffs is gorgeous. The room was very nice and got cleaned good every day. The vibe in the hotel was very friendly because of the staff working there. There were not many guests because of hurricane Melissa and a lot of cancelations which was too bad but nothing the staff could do about that of course. The food was cooked very well, my only suggestion would be to change the menu from time to time because it was a lot of the same things for two weeks. However, what was made by the ladies was magnificent. And last but not least a big and special thanks to all of you. From kitchen to garden men, from reception to taxi drivers, literally everybody made us feel at home. Miss Jennifer from reception, mr Andrew the taxi driver and Miss Tina from the bar get our special thanks, they are magnificent and lovely people!
Stayed here on an all inclusive TUI package tour and what we got was unexpected - not a large impersonal complex but a small friendly hotel. Main thing was the friendliness of the staff (a little tipping helps but I suspect they are always friendly). Rooms were clean with excellent sea views (in the more modern part where we stayed) and good a/c. All inclusive drinks were limited (no wine) but good cocktails and beer. Food was different! Not a buffet is sight as all the food was dished out (and cooked) by lovely catering staff - bit like a canteen but with limited selection of 'home cooked' Jamaican dishes - I suspect some people will not enjoy this but we found it excellent. There is no beach here but there is daily transport to a sister hotel with a lovely beach. Snorkelling is great here but only when the sea is calm - for half of our two weeks it was too rough and prohibited. Hotel faces west so sunsets were great. There was entertainment (vocal) two night per week and most of the guest seemed to enjoy this. All in all a very enjoyable holiday that was a little bit different
Very disappointing stay. I would not recommend this resort. Don’t waste your time or money .I stayed in #112 I ask for change rooms but none where available, no discount on the condition or anything 🤯 The bathroom was in horrible condition—there was a strong, unpleasant odor, black residue/mold around the tub and toilet, and the ceiling was literally falling in. It felt run-down, unsanitary, and neglected. The food was also extremely poor. Most meals were inedible, with the only decent items being the omelets at breakfast and the scalloped potatoes. Everything else was a major letdown. Drinking water was not readily available—you had to get water from a cooler instead of having bottled or accessible water, which was very inconvenient for a resort. Overall, the resort was dirty, outdated, and uncomfortable. Nothing matched what you would expect from a place advertised as a resort. I regret staying here and would not return. DONT STAY THERE ALL THE BAD REVIEWS ARE TRUEEEE‼️‼️ YUCK 🤮
An amazing place with amazing staff warm and welcoming the location is beautiful rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels and beach towels. The food was great and plentiful Tina and Marcia were exceptionally great and the whole staff were professional helpful and extremely knowledgeable. The hotel had a lovely atmosphere and was very relaxing im looking forward to returning next year
The staff were amazing. Shout out to Tina, Kim & Shantel (not sure I have name correct). Pools were great. Food was good. Our room was clean and simple. Only negative would be the amount of stairs on resort which should have been marked with yellow or neon lines.
Had an amazing 2 weeks at samsara! The staff were exceptional, they were friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. I celebrated my 40th birthday while we were there and every member of staff made sure it was an amazing time as well as making me a birthday cake! The food was amazing with plenty of variety and well made. There were times when the cliffs were closed so diving and snorkelling were not possible but that is to be expected, the hotel does not control the weather or the sea. The location of the hotel offers breathtaking sea views and the ability to capture stunning sunsets. Tina, Marcia, the cooks, the restaurant staff (all the staff really) were what made our time there so memorable, I can’t thank them all enough! The rooms while basic were clean and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!
We travelled as a group of blues music fans, bringing our own musicians from Canada. Dawn, the organizing travel agent, has been bringing groups here for years and we can see why. This resort carries the charm of the old Jamaica; nothing grandiose and elaborate, just that great laid back vibe that we go to Jamaica for. Food selection is small but the quality is excellent and has a real homemade taste. The pools and grounds are kept beautifully clean and the staff are efficient and friendly. Special note to Tina at the bar with her beautiful smile. Georgia who is absolutely radiant and flips those breakfast omelettes with ease. Kim, with her warm breakfast greeting every day. George who looks after the grounds so well. They also provide a free shuttle service to their sister resort, Legends (on the beach), which is a real bonus. Shout out to Norman and Junior who drove us in these shuttles. This resort has good value for the price paid.
Was so impressed by Samsara. Although I have lived in Negril and stayed on the beach many times, I had never stayed on the cliffs. Views, scenery are out of this world. A different level of peace and tranquility. My kids loved it and cliff jumped for the first time. Restaurant food needs some work although the breakfast is good. Didn’t use the free daily shuttle to the beach as we hired a car but it’s a great bonus for those that need it. Will be back at Samsara AGAIN & AGAIN.
This hotel was lovely. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were excellent and different food every day
Wonderful location. Wonderful staff who we will remember and miss. Some facilities need updating. Remember to take the trip to Legends, the sister hotel, for a beach experience. The room pillows could really do with replacing, but the aircon was great and so too was the room, balcony and view.
Stay was quiet and peaceful
The food was not all that
I enjoyed the breakfast! The location was amazing . I enjoyed the scenery.
I didn’t like the representative at the front desk when we checked in! We weren’t aware that they we’re gonna charge us even though we added our card to booking because we normally stay at five star hotels that doesn’t take payment until we get there however Samsara took out payment and when we asked what if we didn’t show up, what would have happened with our money? It was all an attitude!
Im not sure where to start as I enjoyed our holiday but I think it could have easily been made better Staff- amazing - friendly - caring and happy to help Our room - Basic but lovely - comfortable bed-and nice bathroom- no coffee or tea making facilities-limited towels- but spotlessly clean Food - beautifully cooked and Jamaican- but very limited choice Breakfast - lovely - cooked eggs how you wanted them freshly for you Perhaps offer Chips or bread rolls at dinner Perhaps tell all inclusive people they can buy food off another menu (pizza chips etc) at a reasonable price Bar- open 10:00 till 22:00 staff lovely and drinks OK. Entertainment - only a couple of times a week but good Views- amazing !!! Pools - three- nice and clean Hotel- hotel of two halves - our side lovely - other side very dated Reception- like stepping back in time ! Very Jamacian- staff lovely and very friendly and helpfull Shuttle bus to Legends: useful but even though at 10:00 and 16:00 - not really enough times a day - perhaps one at 12:00 as well- Once you get to Legends (don't expect too much!) Location brilliant and can walk down 7 mile beach
Exceptional Service from Tina at the Samsara Bar I had an amazing experience at Samsara in Negril, and I have to give a special shout‑out to Tina, the bartender. Her energy is infectious — always smiling, always welcoming, and genuinely happy to see guests. What really impressed me was that after five days, she still remembered my name. That small gesture made me feel right at home and showed how much she truly cares about the people she serves. Tina is a standout member of the Samsara team, and she made my stay even more memorable. If you’re visiting, make sure to stop by the bar and say hi — she’s the best.
Reception Staff were lovely as was Georgia at breakfast. Lovely little boutique hotel, stunning views, great location.
We were in rooms that were very dated, bed was not comfortable and unfortunately a serious towel shortage (but this is understandable only a couple of months since Hurricane Melissa. My advice bring your own beach towels from home.
