We have been coming here for 37 years , The Rafa nadal centre is a great new addition , Greta to see the familiar and friendly faces of Maggy and Tenea who as always are really helpful , the coaches Henrique and Gabby have made thr group lessons very enjoyable and are flexible and encouraging ! We have visited Rafa Nadal tennis centre with our son. He really enjoyed the experience. His coach Enrique was jus emazing, paying attention to every detail and very personal touch. Maggy the coordinator extremely helpful and accommodating Would surely visit again. Facilities are also fantastic. Very well maintained courts, clean. All perfect

Juan Fran was a really nice bar renter at the Lucia beach club. He had great recommendations and was always here to make sure we had all we needed. Very nice and polite person.

The hotel is very nice and positioned well in order to reach restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Advertised as 5 star and in many ways that would be correct BUT there are some important downfalls (at least to my wife and myself). Firstly, they do not have anywhere near enough staff. It is really noticeable at breakfast where the service (despite the marvellous efforts of those serving) is akin to a 3 star if that. Getting coffee takes an age and is given in a tiny cup. So you have to ask for more but no one around. For water I just go and take my own bottle now before Indie of thirst. And don’t get me started on the buffet. Yesterday there was a line of 10 people waiting for omelettes or whatever eggs of choice. I gave up. Today the same although if you go at 5 minutes before they close the buffet then there is more of a chance to get something cooked. The quality of choice of the buffet is poor for a 5 star. There is enough to eat of course even without cooked eggs but it is very limited. I don’t eat bread (as a diabetic) but I would have crackers. Problem is that there are none. So a limited buffet breakfast with limited staff (the manager confirmed that they only have staffing levels at 50%) yet we are paying 5 start prices. Now let’s move to the pool area. Not a chair to be found after 11am. I refuse to go out before breakfast and reserve chairs. I used to do that in my younger days but now I can pay for a 5 star service so I expect there to be options. Meantime, there are lovely gardens but no chairs provided to sit there. Then you have the “Beach Club”. It’s a nice area but where they simply have to play music very loud. Not sure why anyone over the age of 25 would want to sit there and indeed it is very sparsely populated. It would take the strain off of the main pool area if they could be more accommodating. Forgot to mention the second pool area where no one sits because the pool is freezing (the main pool is heated) and anyway there is no one servicing there. If you want a drink then tough. It’s really not 5 star luxury. The bottom line is that the hotel does not want to pay for proper staffing levels at least at breakfast and are happy to squeeze everyone around a smallish pool area where it is impossible to get sun-beds after a certain time. By the way, they also insist on playing music in the main pool area. It is not terribly loud but still, why do we have to listen to music all day long. If we want music almost everyone has headphones and a cell phone. We have started at the former Kempinski Hotel and at the IKOS resort. Both are greatly superior. Maybe the Don Carlos Marbella could achieve a 5 star but it means they would have to spend money on additional staff and make it possible to sun bathe utilising the full space in the hotel grounds. I tend to feel that the ownership are more interested in their bottom line profit margins than providing a real 5 start experience for their customers.

Truly 5 start experience for our family. Clean and beautiful interiors, friendly and kind stuff, nice heated outdoor pool and good restaurant for snacks. Gym was also good, tennis courts available, adult spa calm and beautiful. We we'll most definitely come back on summer time. Kids area was still under construction, but it didn't bother us. Breakfast excellent, huge recommendation for this resort.

We came to Manero Bar at Don Carlos Marbella for cocktails and wine and I have to say that is The Gem of the hotel. We’ve been served by Daniel, high class. Bold service, Amazing cocktails by Hugo. Great atmosphere. So far the best spot at the hotel, shout out to Manero!! first class spot. We will definitely come back 🫶🏼.

By chance we took our son for some private tennis lessons at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Center at the Dan Carlos Hotel. It was so wonderful that a single lesson turned into a week of lessons and we met the most lovely people. Maggy greet you it makes you feel like a long lost friend or family member. She is cheerful, smart, lovely and so good at keeping the place smooth and efficient. Kíke is our son’s tennis coach. He’s amazing with kids. His intuitive very present and extremely generous with his knowledge and his training. But it’s much more than that. It’s very hard to describe how great this place is. I’d be happy to come here every day and just have a coffee and take the atmosphere. This is truly been one of the highlights of our trip this year and we really look forward to coming back later this year again. Maggy, Kíke, David and everybody at the Nadal Tennis Center are great.

My friend and I came out for the weekend at the last minute. Weather wasn’t great unfortunately, so we booked a spa afternoon. Wow! The team at the spa were so helpful and efficient. Our treatment were first class (tailored full body massage, reflexology and indian head massage), probably the best treatments we have ever had! Highly recommend. Huge thank you to our spa therapists Sonia & Glenda, we hope to be back very soon!

We had an amazing time at this padel court! We came as a group of three and had so much fun playing together. The court was in great condition, the atmosphere was super relaxed, and everything was well organized. Perfect spot to enjoy some competitive but fun matches with friends. Definitely coming back!

Having frequented the Don Carlos Resort and The Oasis for years, I was deeply saddened by its long closure for renovations. However, returning this March 2026, I can safely say it was worth the wait. The transformation is a complete success. The rooms are more beautiful than ever, balancing luxury with comfort. The redesigned lobby is an absolute dream, and the hotel bar has evolved into a modern masterpiece—it's the perfect "jewelry box" of the resort. What impressed me most wasn't the new paint or furniture, but the fact that the hotel managed to retain its wonderful staff after such a long hiatus. Seeing those familiar faces again is what creates that special "Don Carlos charm." The warm, genuine, and "refreshingly normal" way the staff interacts with guests is unique in the world of luxury hospitality. It’s a heartfelt togetherness that makes you feel at home rather than just another booking number. After all these years, the Don Carlos remains my number one destination for perfect service in a first-class ambiance. It has successfully preserved its soul while modernizing its look. The only downside to mention is the significant price increase following the renovation. While the rates now align with high-end international standards, it is certainly an investment. You have to be able to afford it, but perhaps that is the price for something truly extraordinary. Verdict: If you are looking for excellence and a "home away from home" feeling, this is it. It’s good to have you back!

Absolutely love this hotel. So much so, we couldn’t wait to come back again, five months later. We last visited at the end of last season in October and have returned at the start of this season in March. Catching up with the best team at the Don Carlos hotel is like reuniting with dear friends. Most of whom have also just returned from their off-season breaks. We received the warmest welcome from everyone. Patricia from guest experiences and Luz from breakfast are so cheery and helpful each morning. The best poolside team, Nahuel, Facundo, Paul the barman, the life guard and all the guys at the poolside restaurant, Sol y Sombra. We were thrilled with a room upgrade to an amazing spa suite with south facing ocean views! The spa is definitely worth a visit to relax the body and mind. It is fully equipped and a bliss experience. A facial with Sonia comes with the highest recommendations. Wow, such a wonderful experience. It is clear she is highly skilled, with a wealth of knowledge to create a fully holistic experience that your body and skin will thank you for. I had an Inhibit facial, chosen by Hollywood stars prior to the Oscars! We have thoroughly enjoyed the thoughtful upgrades the hotel has made since our last trip. The welcome sweet treats and champagne for guests at check-in and the expansion of the Manero bar. The Manero bar is set in a beautiful courtyard. Such a wonderful setting, it is truly an oasis within an oasis. Thoughtful landscaped and elegantly furnished. We recommend going for lunch and allowing Francesco to design you a mini tasting menu, showcasing the local region’s finest cuisine. Big shoutouts to the rest of the Manero team who take pride in making all their guests have a wonderful experience: Alpredo (another familiar face from last season), Mila, Ester and Patricia. Compliments to the chefs Maicos, Desiree, Italy and Antonio, who really know what they are doing! Manero is also an excellent setting for an aperitif and dinner. When the sun goes down and the courtyard lights up with outdoor fire heaters, tea lights and fairy lights to showcase the stunning horticulture: lemon, kumquat and olive trees, climbing wisteria, palm trees and a huge array of plantation. This venue is worth a trip even for guests visiting from outside the hotel. We observed further hotel developments for us to look forward to during our next visit. With the hotly anticipated opening of the Manero restaurant, with its ocean facing terrace. In addition to a new large, state of the art gym, and children’s outdoor area, complete with a water park and kids playground. This hotel is very guest centric, so much focus is put on ensuring their guests are well taken care of. Can’t wait to come back!

We booked a paddle court for an hour. The staff were very helpful and welcoming..The facilities were excellent and nothing was any problem for them, especially Maggie who explained everything and showed us around. Great facilities and great staff!

Have played Tennis regularly over the winter here, good facilities and well kept clay courts. Prices have gone up ridiculously recently, totally out of sync to other comparable nearby clubs. Up to 4 times more expensive to rent a court!! So, I give 4 stars to the club and the 5th is for the staff. I regularly dealt with Maggie who I’ve always found to be very professional, warm and attentive!

I came to the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre and it was a brilliant experience from start to finish. Maggy was fantastic in helping me book a lesson and tailoring it to exactly what I was looking for. The lesson itself was excellent - David was a great coach and I learned so much in a short space of time. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Marbella, whether you’re a beginner or already play regularly.

We had a fantastic stay at the Don Carlos Hotel. The property has been recently upgraded and everything about it is completely on point – from the beautiful rooms to the pools and overall facilities. What really makes this hotel really special, however, is the staff. A very sincere thank you to the “Guest Relations Team” and all the other staff in the hotel. They are without doubt the best part of the experience. The service was exceptional and nothing was ever a problem for them.

Wonderful hotel and very high quality service! I had such a great experience at the Rafa Nadal Tennis Centre in Marbella ! The atmosphere is so welcoming (thank you Maggy), the facilities are fantastic, and the coaching was truly top-level. Special thanks to David, who brilliantly managed to fix my very original one-hand backhand. 🙂 The tips I got made an immediate difference, and the sessions felt fun, motivating, and super professional! Having stayed at the Beachhouse 2 years previous we decided to try the Don Carlos thinking there would be more dining options for lunch or snacks so we didn’t have to leave the hotel however we were wrong. Dinner in the restaurant on our first evening was incredible, the food the view and the staff were exceptional. The lunchtime options however were snacks around the pool which may have worked if there had been enough staff to meet the demand of everyone around the pool. One day I waited over 30 mins to try and catch someone just to get some water, I went to the bar and the said they’d send someone over, I waited another 10 mins then went back to the bar as I was so dehydrated and they eventually gave me a drink. This was the same daily trying to get drinks around the pool area was a nightmare. Due to this we had to go into the poolside restaurant daily for food which wasn’t that successful either. Day 1 I was brought the wrong drink but that wasnt an issue, day 2 I was brought the wrong drink and wrong meal meaning I waited 30 mins after my husband had finished before my correct meal was brought out. Day 3 my husband got the wrong meal and it was replaced quickly but with a meal completely covered in onions which was the one request he made when he ordered his lunch, no onions. The staff throughout the hotel are great, always cheerful and helpful that was the most positive part of our stay. The location is also good but in comparison to the experience we had at the beachhouse for a similar cost there is no comparison at all. The service, atmosphere and service at the beach house are second to none, something to consider before booking a short break at the Don Carlos.

My husband and I just returned from a week at Rafa Nadal’s Tennis Academy at the Don Carlos Resort in Marbella, Spain. We highly recommend the facility and coaching. David was our instructor for most of the week but we also had lessons from Yohan and Enrique. The coaching staff are excellent. The two hour lessons were fast-paced and challenging and a lot of fun. The coaches had high expectations and sequenced the lessons to build on previous learning. The facilities are beautiful and the clay is perfect. The fitness are is spacious and fully equipped. Shout out to all of the welcoming reception staff including Maggy and Roman.

I have to say that I have been highly impressed with the remodel that this hotel has done. It has a modern and sophisticated feel to it. All the staff is extremely kind and professional but there is one area that overcomes the rest in my opinion which is the pastry-dessert section. From the welcome chocolate and orange ice cream, room amenities, coffee cookies...and the night time desserts are out of this world. I feel that they are much more elaborated, redefined, modern, Michelin star presentations with an explosion of deep and wonderful flavors. My favorite is the mango and passion fruit dessert...Probably the best I have seen in any 5 star hotels and many Michelin star restaurants. I have stayed here several times and this is for sure an area that I feel the hotel has elevated the experience to a point that I would come back just for it. Congrats

I stayed in the Don Carlos hotel for 3 weeks 3 years ago. They couldn't do enough to help you. I returned to the Rafa Nadal academy for some training this week and it's still as friendly, efficient and professional as ever. Maggie was there with her usual smile to welcome you. They coaches were amazing, tailoring the advice given according to your game. I highly recommend this academy and hotel.

We stayed at Don Carlos Marbella for a week in Feb-March 2026 as a family of 5. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, and team members went out of their way to make us feel welcome and at home. The heated pool is wonderful - even though the weather wasn't that warm we could still swim daily, and the views are lovely. Our room was quiet, clean, housekeeping service excellent, beds were the best I've slept in for a long time! Plenty of restaurants and things to do in short driving distance. Hotel restaurant also served great food, including a nice kids menu. Overall, a wonderful stay, and we leave feeling super relaxed and wanting to come back!

I have been a client for many years, and seeing how the club has been renovated and improved is truly a joy. The facilities are outstanding, but what really makes the difference — and what made me happiest when I returned — was seeing the familiar faces again. Magy and Tania, my longtime receptionists: thank you, thank you, and thank you again. You always go above and beyond. Your warmth, professionalism, and the genuine care with which you welcome guests make the experience special from the very first moment. Without your attention and dedication, I honestly would not come back. You are the heart of this club. I also had a lesson with Coach Kike, and he was spectacular. Professional, motivating, and full of positive energy. I left the court with a huge smile and already looking forward to the next session. I leave feeling happy and grateful, knowing that I will definitely return. Thank you for making every visit even better than the last. I absolutely loved the experience. 🎾✨

My husband and I spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel...we didn't want to leave! Our suite in building 4 was beautiful and enormous. We had a really nice view of the ocean and the terrace was almost the same size as the room. Our suite was spotless (which is always my main concern). All staff was great and no request was too difficult. They even offered us free use of their Mini Cooper when our tour of Gibraltar was cancelled (due to weather). Breakfast was included and was the highlight of our day. The restaurant was beautiful and had a really nice view. I spent an hour there each day. Other positives: my husband took a tennis lesson at the Rafa Nadal tennis center and enjoyed it, the hotel sent me a huge bouquet of sunflowers on my birthday, the beach was a convenient 5 minute walk, and we went in the off season so things were quiet, which was nice. A few small suggestions for the hotel: our suite had just one trashcan in the bathroom, which wasn't too convenient. One in each room would be nice. I also suggest more vegan options for the room service menu (we ordered 3 out of our 4 nights there). I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Don Carlos again!

I’ve been playing tennis in Marbella for many years, regularly visiting clubs like Puente Romano Beach Resort, Los Monteros Spa & Golf Resort, and especially the tennis club at Hotel Don Carlos especially now since it is part of the Rafa Nadal Academy. Don Carlos has always been my favorite club because of the quality of the courts, the reception staff and the coaches on court, they have always been excellent, friendly, professional, and welcoming. The atmosphere and quality of the facilities made it a pleasure to play here year after year. However, this year the management has been a real disappointment. Court pricing is completely inconsistent and chaotic, it looks a market where you play with the prices.... A few months ago I paid one price, the website shows a different one, the club gives another price when you arrive and Playtomic shows another... Prices seem to change constantly, like a market, and it’s impossible to understand what the real cost is. It’s a real shame, because the staff and the tennis experience itself are still great but the management and pricing system seriously damage what used to be the best tennis club experience in the area... I will have to think twice next time i will like to play

Great padel lesson with Enrique and Maggy was great making arrangements

Don Carlos has truly become a paradise on earth and not just for tennis lovers! I passed by last year while it was still under construction, and the transformation is amazing. With tennis courts, a gym, a pool, and other leisure activities, it’s now an incredible place to spend time. Given the weather, Maggie recommended that my girlfriend and I go to the gym, and we were very impressed with the facilities. The equipment was modern and well-maintained, the staff were courteous and professional, and Maggie was especially welcoming; she made our visit a truly great experience. Needless to say, we will definitely be back!

Super impressed with the new Don Carlos. Was looking forward to its opening and it was definitely worth the wait. So far, due to the weather, I was only able to try the check. Many thanks to Magda for advising me to try out the gym, she was very very friendly and knowledgeable on what equipment is available. The place gained a new member, thanks again!

Only three days on a short break to Marbella and was curious about the Don Carlos as i had friends stay there previously. The hotel was just renovated and was beautiful. We stayed in a Junior Suite with Sea View and while it was a little grey in January it was nice to wake up with a Sea View - not something every hotel offers in Mykonos. The gym equipment was state of the art and the pools heated which meant a little rain didnt worry us. The property had really spacious gardens that went directly down to the beach also. Would love to go back a little later in the year.

In the past we had lunch many times with our company at the terrace by the swimming pool. It was wonderfull. Now after the rénovation the put plants between the testaurant and the pool. .you don't see the sea, the trèes or the pool anymore. Hopefully the hôtel réalises that this is à big mistake and remove this wall of plants. ...the we and many others will come back. Thanks

Hotel Don Carlos is the best hotel in Marbella, Costa Del Sol. Great location, beautiful garden, a private beach, swimming pools, tennis sport club, and the best on-site spa. The property has a bar in small garden next to the lobby, a restaurant with an open terrace for breakfast and dinner service, and a poolside restaurant operating during daytime hours. An additional restaurant is scheduled to open in January-February 2026, with construction currently underway. The beach club is getting a makeover after this year's feedback! 🏖️ I saw the demolition start myself on December 1st, and the renovation is coming along impressively. We are coming to this hotel for many years and we are particularly impressed with the recent comprehensive renovation. The hotel now presents an even more aesthetically pleasing and inviting ambiance. All guest rooms have undergone a complete refurbishment, featuring a serene and contemporary design. The bathroom fixtures are of high quality and are complemented by an excellent selection of amenities. The breakfast area is exceptionally well-appointed, boasting an open terrace. The ambient music throughout the hotel is consistently smooth, easy-listening, and contributes significantly to a pleasant atmosphere. The food service is outstanding, offering a diverse and delicious culinary selection. The attentive and skilled waitstaff and chefs are adept at accommodating individual preferences and dietary requirements, including allergy awareness. The accommodations are remarkably quiet and impeccably clean. The fresh, pristine towels and crisp linens significantly enhance the comfort of our stay. We thoroughly enjoy our stays here; the atmosphere is remarkably pleasant and tranquil. Despite the proximity of the children's club to the pool, its thoughtful placement ensures minimal disruption, as children's activities are contained. We wish to commend the entire hotel staff for their exceptional professionalism and dedication. Every employee consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic and a commitment to guest satisfaction. We consistently feel a sense of belonging, and it is evident that all guests receive the same high level of attentive service. I attended an event at Hotel Don Carlos and the experience was excellent. The facilities were well maintained, the service was very professional, and everything was perfectly organized. Vanesa and Elias made us feel at home from the very first moment. Without a doubt, an ideal place for events in Marbella.

Just recently renovated, the Don Carlos Resort is a great place to stay in Marbella. Breakfast is amazing 👏 guys, staff is friendly and helpful and all the property is top notch. Don't hesitate and don't miss this. A no brainer when going in the south of Spain.

It was a 4 day trip for me and my husband. When we arrived at the hotel, Tony greeted us with drinks at the reception. He gave us a tour of the hotel. We had a Don Carlos Club See View room with full access to SPA lounge. Our room was very modern and beautiful. The sauna, steam room and the cold water therapy were the best! The hotel had beautiful garden and Rafa Nadal Tennis Club. The breakfast restaurant was overlooking the immaculate gardens. The Resort staff were more the helpful and accommodating. They were very helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations. Both Tony and Aitana made our trip very special for us. Both were very attentive and made sure everything was to our satisfaction. It was a very special 4 day trip! To top it all off, Marbella is a very romantic city with so many amazing attractions., great food and best shopping! Thank you Don Carlos Resort and the Staff 🙏

Wonderful experience at Hotel Don Carlos! We had a fantastic stay — everything was perfect from start to finish. The hotel is stunning, the staff are incredibly attentive, and the atmosphere is calm and welcoming. A truly relaxing getaway that we would love to repeat!

We had a fantastic experience during our stay at Hotel Doncarlos. The renovation works were highly successful, with a modern upgrade of the entrance hall, restaurant, rooms, and the tennis and fitness club. Only the changes to the Nikki Beach Club have taken away some of its original charm, and the paid access should ideally be complimentary for hotel guests. The staff at Doncarlos are extremely friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Natalia. Her extensive knowledge allows her to recommend excellent local restaurants nearby. She adds extra shine to the hotel's 5 stars. Her hospitality and enthusiasm inspire guests to rebook their stay at Doncarlos.

I received a wonderful welcome at Don Carlos Hotel Marbella. The hotel is modern and full of light and has been refurbished beautifully since my last visit! My Deluxe room with sea views was stunning, along with a beautifully appointed bathroom with huge double ended walk in shower. Everywhere is spotlessly clean and housekeeping do a superb job! The dining options are excellent, including delicious breakfast selections. Above all, the staff are exceptional! Every member of staff I encountered were so courteous, warm, friendly and could not do enough to help! Fabulous hotel - highly recommended!

Don Carlos is one of the best hotels we have ever been to. The staff is amazing, always smiling and trying to help. The food is very good and the rooms very clean. We had a super holiday break in the Don Carlos. The newly renovated hotel is 5 star+! The staff were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble: friendly and efficient, particularly Patricia. We will be back in 2026!

From the first moment I walked into Don Carlos, to the moment my feet sadly left the ground there, it was the most exceptional experience. I have had the pleasure of staying in some very exclusive places, but Don Carlos excelled and leaves everywhere else in its shadow. The staff stood out - from Guest experience input of Libby, Tony and Adrian, to Los Naranjos (Nora, Isias, and all the others who treated me with incredible kindness and professionalism), to all the others who I would love to name but have not written names down. Also the staff in Bar Manero, three wonderful ladies whose customer service and skills were fabulous. I must mention the restaurant Los Naranjos again - for the culinary excellence. I ate there breakfast and evening meals, 6 days. The evening menu was outstanding. The culinary experience in Sol y Sombra, by the pool was equally delectable. I must say that the actual room was also beautiful. Compliments to the housekeeping staff for all their work, which was also perfect. Thank you. I would return there without even thinking about it. I went there solo, but I felt like I was part of a big family, in a completely comfortable and unintrusive manner. It was heavenly. Thank you Don Carlos for an amazing week.

We spent a wonderful three nights at the Don Carlos hotel in Marbella. The hotel is beautifully decorated, and our room was very comfortable. We ate breakfast in the hotel every morning and the food was carefully presented and delicious. Dinners we ate there were also great. What made the experience special, however, was the efficient and friendly staff. We could not have felt more welcome or more like valued guests. A special mention and thank you goes out to Tony, who went out of his way to greet every guest by name and left a positive impression with each encounter.

this review as 20 year customers: a completely renovated hotel , but still the same positive points : the gardens , the pool , sol y Sombra , the room…. a negative point is the loud music everywhere. why do hotels need to make boum boum boum all day long , i can’ t understand. Thoroughly enjoying our two week stay at the Don Carlos Marbella hotel. The highlight? The team who go above and beyond to take such good care of us. The hotel has a superb recruitment department because every member of staff has been well selected to best match their personality and character to their areas of responsibility. From the super warm welcome we received at the reception desk upon arrival at midnight, to the friendly team at breakfast. Special shoutouts to the poolside team who are top class. Paul, the competition entrant mixologist at the poolside bar is a magician when it comes to tailor making cocktails to personal tastes. Nahuel, the charming, young pool host treated us like VIPs. He ensured we were comfortable and had everything we needed at all times. Facundo, the poolside server was very professional and excellent at paying attention to details to raise the level of service at the hotel. He made a number of great suggestions and personalised the service to each guests. Last but not least, Tony the host at breakfast and the poolside restaurant was simply brilliant. He really couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel has been beautifully renovated this year and offers everything one would need for a thoroughly relaxing retreat. From the huge, immaculately landscaped zen garden, Rafa Nada tennis centre and two beach clubs (Niki beach and Lucia beach club) to the cool pool area. We also enjoyed breathtaking sunset views of the Marbella coastline from our comfortably furnished west-facing terrance on the seventh floor. However, it is certainly the staff who make the Don Carlos a standout luxury resort, that will keep us returning year after year!

Great stay at the newly refurbished Don Carlos hotel from start to finish. The service was exceptional and the staff were all wonderful including the Elisabet and Daniel from the Guest Experience team. Look forward to revisiting next year.

We came for dinner at Los Naranjos with my husband during our stay at Don Carlos for two weeks. This was by far our favourite meal at the hotel. We were recommended delicious dishes by our server. The service was top notch and the live music was great. Highly recommend place for dinner for couples, friends and family alike.

Excellent hotel - calm, tranquil and luxurious, everyone who works there was so hospitable and welcoming - by the pool, the restaurants and front desk and the doormen and the chamber maids, I was there for a while and got to meet everyone so wont list names as wouldn't want to miss anyone out - but the whole experience was first class!

The Don Carlos Hotel in Marbella is a true gem! The stunning sea views were a perfect backdrop for relaxation. The landscaping throughout the property is beautifully maintained, adding to the overall peaceful atmosphere. A special shoutout goes to Marco and Ikram from the front desk team, who went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail set a wonderful tone for my visit. The entire concierge team was equally impressive, always ready with helpful recommendations and to make reservations. Overall, the Don Carlos Hotel offered five-star service and is highly recommended!

Excellent service and superb hotel for a business conference . Short stroll to the beach club with comfy beds and beach towels. Nice pool and loungers and very attentive staff. Hotel food is excellent. Hotel seemed to have a problem with a mains sewer or drain system which was rectified quickly .

Our son (14) plays tennis so we chose this hotel for practice/leisure and it was perfect! Rafa Nadal center is a top class training center with great staff and pro trainers. Couldn’t be more happy. Newly renowated hotel was also very nice and restaurants as well. Special thanks to Magy from Rafa Nadal center who made all the arrangements regarding tennis superbly.

We love the Don Carlos Marbella & have spent many years staying here. The recent hotel renovation is fantastic, beyond our expectations it’s such a luxury hotel now! What we love about the hotel is that the staff are unbelievable every year & make sure you have an amazing stay - they treat you like a VIP. Firstly Amparo who has been here many years is incredible, she looks after you & your family to ensure you have an amazing stay, we feel she is top Management & definitely acts like one hopefully she will be one very soon - she deserves it! Also Estela welcomes us every morning with a smile at breakfast & makes sure I have my gluten free porridge, she is amazing. There is a lot of amazing staff to mention, but also Alvaro at the pool he makes sure you have everything you want for food & drink & is very kind & a lovely person! The new kids club is fantastic & we look forward to our daughter using the new faculties when they are open next year. It’s great to see the restaurant has been renovated we are here many times and makes a difference with a baby to be able to eat at the hotel with delicious food. The pool food bar is also delicious. Thank you for another happy & memorable stay with our family! We love it here!

I am staying at the Don Carlos hotel with my mum & sister and we are having such a great time that I’m writing the review before we have checked out! The hotel has been extensively & very recently refurbished & the standard is exceptional. The interior, restaurants & pool/ pool side are of truly excellent standard & it’s super stylish but mostly- ALL of the staff have been incredibly helpful. Everyone that works here has been experienced , smiley & efficient. The hotel is a really short taxi ride to Marbella town/ old town but there are a few great spots within walking distance & the beach is only a very short walk. I can’t recommend this hotel enough! We’ll certainly be back.

Myself and my friend did 3 nights here at the start of September and we had such a beautiful stay. The hotel is so beautiful, the pool is gorgeous. We were so well looked after during our whole stay, a very special mention to Mary for making our whole stay so memorable. She went above and beyond for us. Also would like to mention Libby, Elisabet, Toni, Aitana and Lucio the Experience Manager. We will definitely be returning next year with my family as they have great facilities for the children.

The rooms were very spacious and clean. I am surprised with the turn down service, and although they missed a few nights, the overall service here is amazing. Well trained staff, friendly and helpful. The concierge service made sure you are well taken cared of and comfortable while waiting for check in, providing their signature drink and assisting you in any way they can.

I traveled to Marbella in September 2025 as part of a women's golf group and we had the most amazing time at Don Carlos. The resort has everything you need to relax and enjoy yourself, and the staff were extremely attentive and helpful. I had a king size bed room, with a balcony that had a view of the mountains and an obstructed view of the sea. I loved sitting on the balcony and enjoying the breeze and just the fact that I was in Spain! The room was extremely comfortable, plenty of room, it was clean and I loved that they regularly stocked bottles of water free of charge. The bathroom was beautiful with a rain shower, marble walls and floors and great lighting. I absolutely loved my time at Don Carlos and honestly I wish I had booked a couple of extra nights to truly indulge myself at Don Carlos. I promise that anyone that stays here will not be disappointed.

When I checked in i found i had been upgraded to a room with a sea view. What a difference a balcony and view can make. On check in the staff could not have been more helpful, giving me a personal guided tour of the entire hotel and offering to help me book anything i wanted to participate in for example yoga. The bathroom in my room was 10/10 in terms of space, cleanliness and towels. At least two towel changes a day felt very spoiling but nothing was too much trouble at the Don Carlos. From the cleaning staff to the front of house, concierge, gym staff, yoga teacher, pool assistant, everyone was the friendliest I have ever encountered at at hotel and I am fortunate enough to have stayed at many lovely hotels. The restaurants offered incredible breakfast with so much choice, the quality was very high and there was coffee at my table within 30 seconds of ordering every single morning. There is lots of choice of cuisine to choose from throughout the day and some lovely band music in the restaurant at night. The beach club was also very lovely and relaxed, Very clean and not too full. But some fun vibes coming from Nikki Beach Club next door. And the main pool area of the hotel contains the most comfy sunbeds i have ever sat on. The spa is the nicest I've ever seen at a hotel and I was regularly the only one in there. The Lounge area was very impressive, offering food throughout the day with a certain category of room. The staff were so attentive and thoughtful in all these areas. Can't wait to go back

The hotel was spotless and the staff were superb from the moment of our arrival to departure. The concierge, in particular, was very helpful and always available, if required. We would thoroughly recommend the Don Carlos, Marbella.

Our resort stay was outstanding. From the moment we arrived, we were well cared for. From Bellhops to the front desk, from the dining establishment to the poolside service, everything was superb. The rooms are bright, wonderful beds and contemporary bathrooms. The Spa was used by a friend who has traveled extensively and she advised it was one of the finest experiences she has ever had.

From the really warm welcome, including a delicious Spritz cocktail, to the stunning beach club and garden area- our stay was just perfect and we definitely will be back!

Everything about this hotel is Toronto h except the food. Only good place for food is pool restaurant. Rest is 2 stars. That said staff is outstanding, setting is to die for, rooms are extremely comfortable. Staff really made stay magical.

Fabulous hotel- the service is excellent and it is absolutely beautifully decorated. The bedding and towels are exceptional. We enjoyed the various bars- great poolside bartender- made amazing cocktails. Dined for breakfast lunch and dinner and the food was very good. Lived the grounds and the pools as well as the beach area.

The hotel is gorgeous with so many amenities, and the staff was amazing from start to end.

We have visited the hotel many times and this was the first since it was refurbished. We were not disappointed it has been done fantastically well. The public areas are beautifully decorated and furnished. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds superb. As a returning guest we were given an upgrade with a fantastic sea view. The restaurants are also very good as is the service and food. The pool area and sunbeds are very well laid out and comfortable. There is still an additional restaurant to be completed which I was told would be next year My only negative would be the beach club, which used to be free to hotel guests has now been taken over by Nikki Beach and they now charge €40 per person to use the beach club which has always previously been free. A real let down.

The Don Carlos Marbella was a memorable visit for all the right reasons. The Hotel was beautiful, the facilities wonderful, the cleanliness of the location without comparison and all staff friendly, professional & helpful.

I have been coming to this area for 27 years and have always enjoyed the Don Carlos. The highlight in our opinion was the bar which had a magnificent view! The bar now in the newly revamped hotel is nothing as nice and lacks atmosphere. The lovely boutique is also GONE and has been replaced with a tiny one selling swimwear, t shirts shorts etc…, I walked from Nikki beach up by the side of the hotel and the amount of litter was disgraceful! Not ideal outside a five star hotel! Off putting!

We needed a back-up plan as our original tour idea didn’t work. Natalia to our rescue! She shared her idea of visiting Mijas Pueblo and wrote down places to explore. The highlight of our visit was the Mayan Monkey Mijas store. We had a history lesson about cacao beans, made bars of chocolate & decorated them, and graduated from the Mayan Monkey Mijas University. While we waited for our chocolate to cool, we enjoyed delicious ice cream from there. It was a perfectly wonderful day - thanks to Natalia.

From the moment we arrived at Don Carlos Marbella, we felt genuinely welcomed. The personal service throughout our stay made a real difference. A special thank you to Adrian from the Front Desk and the Guest Service team, who went above and beyond to follow up on our lost baggage — their care and ownership really lifted our spirits. We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and pleasantly surprised with a much-appreciated room upgrade, which set the tone for a wonderful stay. The same level of attentiveness was shown by the hostess at breakfast, the pool team members, and many others — all contributing to a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable, with excellent service including timely towel changes and thoughtful evening turn-downs. Just a small tip: the closet space is a bit limited for two people, and the safe’s location on the floor isn’t the most convenient. That said, these are minor details in an otherwise fantastic experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Service and facility were excellent, a #5 rating for sure. However, we sent laundry out the morning before we checked out and it wasn’t returned that evening as indicated. Fortunately, we were still in the area, not flying out of Malaga for three days. We were able to stop by two days later to pick them up. The staff was very gracious and helpful, but it was a little bit of a blip.

The resort was beautiful and very accommodating. Especially Tony who is a pool attendant. He gave 5 star customer service and great recommendations for places to eat and visit, I would definitely come back to stay again.

We joined our son and daughter-in-law for a 3 night stay at this hotel to celebrate my granddaughters 4th birthday the hospitality is second to none the staff are lovely very friendly and helpful everything was perfect and nothing was too much trouble my granddaughter loved the kids club the staff really looked after her and made sure she had fun!

Me and my family have been Don Carlos guests for almost 30 years. We have been guests of the pre opening and what we experienced even exceeded 5 star hotels at the Maledives. We have been living in the penthouse presidential suite, which alone is one of a kind: 4 balconies overlooking the sea, mountains and Marbella, the most beautiful sunsets and an interior that makes dreams come true, But besides the luxury of the place and the detailed, very thoughtful and bright new renovations, what touched our heart most was the stuff. The dedication, the friendliness, the discipline and the kindness LITERALLY made us cry when we left after one week. If you don’t come here, it will be a loss, truely. Thank you kitchen stuff for amazing food that even me as gluten and meat free could enjoy, thank you reception team of incredible shining and kind young women, thank you Johanna for the personal management and love and thank you to the stuff that has been there for the last 39 years and almost feels like family. You made us happy and humbled. A holiday can’t get any better…

We’ve been coming here for years and the renovation is wonderful! The staff is extremely friendly and always helpful, which makes you feel so welcome. The food is delicious (although we would prefer some simpler food choices, less extravagant) the beach amazing, and the daily yoga with Glenda was a highlight — she’s such a warm, inspiring teacher and her classes made us feel relaxed, but with an energized mind. Gracias!

We had such a wonderful time at Don Carlos with our two kids (13 and 11). From the moment we arrived, the resort felt welcoming and relaxed. The tropical gardens and pools are absolutely stunning. The staff was super friendly and warm. It’s hard to name one but especially Ricardo, Frank, Patricia and Giulia looked after us very well. The staff left no stone unturned to make us feel at home. We enjoyed all the activities around the resort esp art classes by Tatiana! We have experienced many resorts but Don Carlos team made it one of the most enjoyable family holidays we’ve ever had.

My family and I had the best time and can’t wait to come back!
