Reviewed Sep 6, 2026The hotel is in a brilliant location - many dining options at your door and a very safe and quiet place to stay - and a bonus there is free parking on the street on weeeknds. Our car was safe and very clsoe by. The rooms are VERY spacious.
The sliding glass doors on the wardrobes (which aslo cover the tea/coffee/fridge area have no handles so are clumsy to open.

The 300 before payment was insane, we budgeted for our Queenstown trip and didn’t get paid our money back until a week later and wasn’t aware of this payment until check in. Leaving card details is typical but 300 was insane.

The room was beautifully presented, a good supply of basic essentials, the devices and equipment were very easy to operate and modern.Excellent water pressure and shower. The location is excellent, with close proximity to the waterfront, Art Gallery and surrounding city centre. It was very quiet with no noise ensuring a restful sleep.I have stayed in many comparably priced Hotels in Tauranga and they are all noisy at night.

The service however was good from the waiter. Also the restaurant should be open a lot earlier than 8.30 am as I had to go down the road to get breakfast.

Wifi was terrible. Had to use my data. Could not watch rugby as Sky did not work. Shower would intermittenly go cold then piping hot. Have stayed here often in the past however this is the worst. Will not be staying here again especially for the price paid that lacked key facilities.
