The hotel was outstanding. Beautiful room. Best breakfast buffet I have ever had at a hotel. Absolutely delicious. Our friends who were traveling with us concurred and we are all seasoned travelers.

Jeg har bodd på Hotel Bristol mange ganger før, og har vanligvis hatt gode opplevelser. Derfor ble jeg ekstra skuffet over møtet med resepsjonen denne gangen. Jeg hadde dessverre glemt ID-en min, og jeg forstår selvfølgelig at de må spørre om legitimasjon. Det jeg reagerte på, var ikke regelen, men måten situasjonen ble håndtert på. Jeg ble stresset da jeg ikke fant ID-en, og da jeg spurte om jeg kunne hente den på jobb og komme tilbake, fikk jeg ingen tydelig eller hyggelig beskjed. Resepsjonisten opplevdes rigid og lite imøtekommende, og jeg endte med å bare dra. Først etter at jeg sendte en melding, fikk jeg beskjed om at jeg kunne komme tilbake med ID. Da hadde jeg allerede fått en så dårlig følelse av situasjonen at jeg valgte å droppe oppholdet. Dette kunne vært løst så enkelt med litt tydelighet og vennlighet: «Det går helt fint, hent ID-en og kom tilbake, så ordner vi det.» Jeg forventer ikke at rutinene skal settes til side, men god kundeservice handler også om hvordan man kommuniserer når en gjest havner i en stressende situasjon. Etter denne opplevelsen er jeg dessverre usikker på om jeg vil booke hos Hotel Bristol igjen. Tror nokk ikke det. Jeg verdsetter god kundeservice. Super viktig.

Reception welcome was good and the reception staff were lovely. The breakfast buffet was good.

I have waited a week for a response to my complaint (to which I have had none) before posting this review in the hope that it might have been remedied. Let this be a cautionary tail to you before you book! The hotel hosted a wedding during our stay. The music was so loud that our possessions and some of the furniture in the room were vibrating with the base. I went down to reception at 23:30 to complain and was told alongside multiple other unhappy guests that it would continue until 01:30. This was also not true. I asked for a refund of the night we were unable to sleep and was told to email the manager. I've not had a response other than a message through booking.com to thank me for my understanding. Well, there was no understanding - before, during or afterwards. All I know is that we did not sleep and that I would like a refund for the night where the disturbance was significant and according to Norwegian's equivalent of trading standards / consumer laws, we were sold a room to be able to sleep in which due to a known event, we were unable to sleep in and were not offered an alternative. If you want a restful stay, do NOT stay here.

The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of the city. Breakfast was very good with a large selection to choose from. The room was fairly well fitted out although the shower room was tiny.

The bed had a memory foam topper which was ill-fitting and not very comfortable. The sauna which we thought was part of the deal turned out to be an extra.

Excellent location within a walking distance from the city center and all the major attractions! Excellent breakfast! Nice bar and very helpful and friendly staff! Excellent service!

Parking fees were higher than expected!

Soggiorno deludente al Bristol. La vista dalla camera 384 era pessima, affacciata direttamente sul tetto di un parcheggio anziché offrire un panorama gradevole. Inoltre, la prima colazione si è rivelata decisamente povera rispetto agli standard della categoria. Ho provato a contattare la direzione per segnalare i disservizi, ma non ho ricevuto alcuna risposta. Purtroppo non lo consiglio.

Estava fazendo uma longa viagem de carro, e deixei para fazer o checkin na chegada ao hotel. Quando fui falar com o senhor da recepção, ele mentiu, dizendo não haver quarto livre. Eu contestei, porque já tinha visto no aplicativo Booking.com que havia vaga, sim. O recepcionista, muito mal humorado, continuou negando, até que eu disse “ok, farei minha reserva pelo Booking.com”. Reservei uma suite para mim e para meu marido e pedi para o tal senhor fazer meu checkin, já que agora eu tinha reserva. Ele me respondeu que eu teria que esperar porque não tinha quarto livre. Mentira! Se tenho uma reserva e o horário de entrada é às 15h00, como preciso esperar se estou chegando às 17h45? Minha sorte, para terminar com meu estresse, foi a ajuda do concierge Tarik, que assumiu meu problema e o resolveu com muita atenção e profissionalismo. Outro desagrado em relação ao hotel é que precisaram levar um ventilador para meu quarto, porque não havia ar condicionado.

Beds are extremely comfortable and the space in general is very nice. Cool history within the entire building. Staff are very helpful.

The information screen labels the gym and breakfast as the 2nd floor. But really it’s on the first floor where the entrance is. Very minor but worth changing.

It was a fantastically located, beautifully presented, old world hotel with friendly staff. I had a room with a FULL size bath which I enjoyed after a long day of sight seeing.

There are no complaints.

Muy buena ubicación, cerca de los principales museos. Desayuno muy variado. Personal muy amable, alguno habla español. La habitación, bien de tamaño.

Das Hotel liegt ruhig, aber trotzdem zentral gelegen. Vom Hauptbahnhof braucht man ca. 15 min zu Fuß zum Hotel. Die Zimmer sind etwas abgewohnt, aber alles sauber und das Bett ist sehr bequem. Mein Zimmer war zum Innenhof gelegen. Dadurch war es eigentlich sehr ruhig, allerdings war am Wochenende Musik zu hören. Frühstück war gut, und der Afternoon Tea war auch sehr lecker. Das Restaurant war wegen Renovierung geschlossen. Da kann ich nichts dazu sagen. Alles in allem ein entspannter Aufenthalt und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist auch okay. Nespresso-Maschine war vorhanden. Spa habe ich nicht besucht, kostet aber extra.

Für ein 5-Sterne-Hotel war die Ausstattung der Zimmer ein wenig dürftig. Kein Wasser. Außer einer Duschhaube, Seife, Shampoo und Conditioner keinerlei Produkte im Bad. Aber preislich ist das Hotel auch, zumindest wenn man frühzeitig bucht und die Lage bedenkt, in Ordnung. Von der Minibar fehlte die Preisliste, kann also nicht sagen, was das gekostet hätte. Da war aber auch kein Wasser drin.

Vynikající snídaně, pestrá nabídka, i s velkou možností výběru vegetariánských jídel. Příjemný a usměvavý personál. Prostředí hotelu a vybavení ve stylu, který se nám velice zamlouval. Poloha hotelu blízko centra. Tento hotel mohu doporučit.

Location

No airconditioning even though Booking.com FAQ clearly mentioned it. Tariq, hotel personnel, took no responsibility for the same and rudely blamed Booking.com.

El ruido. La noche de nuestra estancia se celebró una boda en el hotel. Alrededor de las 21:30 comenzó la fiesta con música que se oía hasta la planta tercera donde nos alojábamos. Pedimos ayuda a recepción y no fue posible cambiar la habitación porque la alternativa era peor, debido a que ellos mismos nos indicaron que se oía el ruido de varios pub de la calle. Inconcebible en un hotel de esta categoría. Enviamos una queja a la dirección del hotel. Su respuesta no fue la adecuada. Sin asumir responsabilidades, y no dando importancia a la cuestión del ruido.

Breakfast was in a temporary room with no natural light, but the choices were reduced and the coffee ran out both mornings. I also felt hounded to leave at 10am.

Hotel Bristol in Oslo certainly has an elegant charm and an outstanding breakfast served on fine porcelain with real silverware, but our stay was marred by notable room layout and service flaws. Service was noticeably lacking, particularly at the Bristol Grill. Upon arrival, we were left standing at the entrance for 15 minutes before the maître d' finally came to seat us. Be cautious if you are assigned Room 316. The layout is awkward, with the TV placed directly in front of the dividing wall between the bed and the bathroom. Instead of facing a street or city view, the window looks directly out onto a large maintenance HVAC/ventilation unit. More concerningly, the two single beds had only loose mattress pads rather than proper mattresses—one pad slipped right out of the frame, causing my husband to fall. Housekeeping logistics also fell short. Every morning, a long line of maintenance carts cluttered the hallway, making it frustratingly difficult to enter and exit our room. It is a beautiful property, but management needs to address these basic comfort and operational issues.

Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. The hotel had an old fashioned charm although the bar and brasserie were being renovated. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Location was good.

Our rooms (and all rooms on the 7th floor) have to be accessed via stairs from the 6th floor which is an inconvenience. Pillows were not very good (very soft).
