Nice location, romantic ferry connection
Didn’t like the vibe in the restaurants
the price did not correspond to the booked price. The hotel blaimed Booking.com!!!
500m from airport hall
Phone didn't work for room service, I had to call on my cell phone to get room service!
Lovely location on Elephantine island. A Nile view room at the back of the hotel is lovely. The staff at the pool and in both restaurants were very friendly and helpful
Overall it’s very tired. The public areas are dirty The pillows are like bricks The room cleaner left a bizarre towel arrangement hanging from the ceiling which greeted us as we entered in our room on the last day which looked like a dead baby! I guess he thought it was funny. The guy who runs the massage centre told me repeated lies about payment and left me feeling that if I hadn’t been insistent about things he would have ripped me off. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.
We stayed in the new part of the hotel and had a view of Qubbet el-Hawa. Beautiful and noiseless! Breakfast is excellent. The waiter Ramadan was very friendly at breakfast: skilled at his job, unobtrusive and communicative. We were literally "king and queen", just like Ramadan called us. I must also praise the waiter at the pool bar named Karem. Friendly, smiling and helpful. We were most positively surprised by the boat that takes you to Elephantin Island. It literally runs all the way around, so there is no problem getting to or from the island immediately. Boat transportation to and from the island is free. The choice and rating of food in the general restaurant is average, but it is exceptional in the Panorama restaurant. If you are at the Mövenpick Hotel, you must have dinner at the Panorama: beautiful view and above-average good food.
The furnishings in the room could be more modern.
The dinner I ate it in the restaurant
Very very dirty,in the room the dust was plenty like they didn’t clean from a month, the bath room old room 214
Clean, beautiful and impeccable service. Especially loved the heated pool!
Nothing! They could have used more poolside service - there was a single waiter the whole time we were there and he tries his best we also would like a gym that is open 24 hours - we were long gone touring by the time it opened at 8:30 am
Location.
Rather run down, quite dirty, poorly trained staff, water dripping through ceiling, certainly a long way from 5 stars.
Ahmed and Oneya were talented and professional as we had a duo Cleopatra experience. We highly recommend booking some time with them especially after travelling throughout beautiful Egypt.
The location is amazing
Horrible food The rooms aren’t clean even after house keeping is gone The gym is unbelievably dirty
Arrived late due to flight problems, which is apparently not unusual. The hotel is accessed via a frequent and efficient boat from the mainland. Fortunately the restaurant was open so we had a pleasant light meal. The room was excellent in size, comfort and cleanliness. The only negative was an ill fitting window which the wind howled through like a banshee on our first night, fortunately the wind abated for the second night Beautiful gardens around the hotel and a lovely pool area with bar. Second night we ate in the panorama restaurant which has unrivalled views of the city. We had an excellent meal and great service, highly recommend a visit here. Nike perch was delicious!
Great location
Birds at breakfast area very unhealthy and extremely annoying. Chairs and surroundings spattered with droppings. Birds also getting into the food counters. Hotel has made no effort to stop birds. Did not like some of the staff trying to get tips by being over-familiar Pillows are way too thick and no thinner options. Bad nights sleep! W had to use rolled up towel as pillow. So for over 300USD per night this is pretty poor and disappointing
The Movenpick is located on an island with fantastic views of the West Bank of the Nile. You get to the hotel with a free water taxi. We stayed in the new wing which was very pleasant. We didn't visit the old part of the hotel. The Egyptian restaurant was excellent and had very friendly staff. The rooms are good with a spacious shower and balcony.
Absolutely fabulous location and views from the room down the Nile were amazing. Staff in the hotel were all excellent. The breakfasts and food in the restaurants were first class, pool area and life guard and bar staff brilliant and very attentive and super friendly. Really recommend for families and couples or solo travellers who want to see Egypt history and new Egypt and all it has to offer! Great vibe and such fun going over to the hotel by boat running every 5 minutes … perfect.
Excellent location if you want a luxurious stay at a family friendly resort, the staff could not do more for us, the ambience was excellent and the food superb. We thoroughly recommend coming to Aswan and staying here
The best hotel i love the view, the staff are amazing special thanks to Ola
Excellent service, we would love to come back again.
The worst quality of food I have ever seen from breakfast foul & taameya are tasteless the cheapest kinds of cheese or cold cuts … lunch or dinner are as bad from salads to mains . The stuff are nice & trying to help but what can they do ? Change the whole kitchen system?! The pool area is very dull and guess what it is the hottest area as the floor is pure cement. Be careful the front Nile view rooms that outlooks the city are extremely noisy. Though the he hotel has a beautiful location but unfortunately very bad use of the place and very boring
Warm welcome from staff throughout our stay. Beautiful location. Wonderful room with view. Quick laundry service although we were informed by staff this was included when it wasn't. Hibiscus juice on rrival very refreshing. Staff on hotel boat very friendly.
Reception staff appeared off hand at times. Evening meal buffet very expensive if not included in booking ($50 pp). Some dust on shelves.
We had a fantastic stay at Mövenpick Aswan. The service was exceptional, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the Nile views were unforgettable. Special thanks to GRM Tisir and her wonderful team for their warm hospitality and attention to every detail
The Mövenpick Aswan is an absolute sanctuary! After an exhausting journey, we were heartbroken to realize our luggage hadn't arrived. However, the PR manager stepped in with incredible kindness, personally arranging for its free delivery from the airport. That level of care after such a long trip was truly touching. Beyond the service, the island views are unmatched and the pool area is pure bliss. A perfect stay!
I had an amazing view with a corner room and big balcony. It was very memorable. I also thought the service was amazing. I asked for some medication from the pharmacy, and it was delivered within 10 minutes directly to my room.
Best Experience ever at Movenpick hotel Amazing service
Good option to stay in Aswan. Italian restaurant is great
It is definitely not 5 star. Spa was terrible
Wonderful location and beautiful hotel on historical important island. Easy free transfers to and from island
All good
Everything is perfect Amazing place, the island itself is heavenly The staff are super friendly and welcoming
The hotel is surrounded by the Nile and around the back has well kept gardens. The hotel inside is beautiful. The rooms were large and clean.
Hi I'm from Egypt I'm working at tourism and , I treat with Mövenpick staff, they are the kind and so positive, I recommend everyone to come and experience the Mövenpick hotel , and travel to aswan and reserve in Mövenpick hotel try the food , it's wonderful. It's good experience for everyone.
The best hotel in Aswan, special thanks to Front office team, thanks to shady and Mohamed for the great hospitality
The is a beautiful property. The view from the balcony of the room was amazing especially at night. Our room and service was outstanding.

team was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast at tower is amazing, the location is second to none, and the service was truly incredible. Taysser was so accommodating , specifically, really went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. Highly recommend!
Finger weg!!!
We stayed for one night. Clean room and helpful staff. Great dinner and breakfast was really nice. A lot to choose from Nice bar at the top, and nice garden outside.
We stayed for 2N/3D. Room: 3/5. We booked Nile full view and in the name of upgrade they gave us a duplex room with absolutely no view. We didn't expect this. And they didn't ask us if we are comfortable climbing up and down. Felt forced and no choice. Bathroom upstairs was missing a light. Even though the room was nice but disappointed with the no view. We were made to stay in the old block and no choice was given Hospitality: 5/5. Right from the ferry till the bell hop to the reception, everybody was nice, warm and welcoming. Food : 3/5. We requested for breakfast boxes since we were starting early to Abu Simbel and they refused saying they serve breakfast from 4am. Breakfast was basic. Dinner - shawarma was okay, pizza and pasta were bad. Drinks were okay Property : 4/5. Huge property but lacks of signage and not many staff to provide function. We couldnt explore much Restaurant service : 2/5. Poor service, no body comes and asks for order, only one person struggling to handle everyone. Really need to improve on these areas. It's located in Elephantine island which was an experience in itself.
Our room which was on 2 floors was spacious. There were regular boat connections to the mainland which were very good and appreciated. The grounds were spacious and well maintained. Some of the staff were friendly and helpful but this was the exception rather than the rule. The hotel had a 70s vibe in the bedroom decor. It was pleasant but would benefit from refurbishment.
Cleanliness both in our rooms and the corridor that led to reception was inadequate. There was dirt around the edge of our rooms that wasn't vacuumed in the 3 days we stayed at the hotel. The small cover on our bed had a clump of dusty fluff stuck to it. The corridor to reception had several dead flies which were not disposed of in the 3 days. The pillows were not comfortable. We asked for 2 more and we were only given 1 but it was just as bad. We ate in two restaurants. The first one had Egyptian food but it was only of average quality compared to other meals we had on our 3 week holiday. The meal in the Panorama restaurant was OK but not special. The toiletries were vegan and I don't object to that but luckily I only used the handwash as I had my own toiletries too. By the end of the 3rd day the skin on both my hands and my husband's hands was dry, cracked and painful. This has never happened to us before in over 50 years of travel. The final nail in the coffin was when my husband asked for a late checkout the man at reception wanted to charge us a much higher rate than was on the TV screen behind him. When my husband queried this he was told it was only for special circumstances. My husband went back to reception the next day and the lady there gave us the late checkout at the correct rate.
The gardens and our waiter.
Bed was terribly uncomfortable and the drains smelled very bad.
The breakfast is amazing. Great variety and delicious. The view onto the Nile and the tombs of the nobility lit at night were enchanting from the balcony.
The coffee was disappointing. Doing laps in the swimming pool was difficult since there were no markers on the floor of the pool and the pool was an odd shape.
The arrival and departure at the reception are always very friendly. I know the hotel since 19years. Ali the mainconcierce and Taysser from the guestrelation gave me warmly welcome to spend a very nice time again in the hotel. Shokran 😊👌 The staff with my friend Mahmoud Abd Eldaim and Hamada and the other guys take care for all the guest at pool feel relaxed. The food up on tower was excellent as last year in november with two swiss friends. A lot of staff in the Restaurant regognized me. It‘s always a warm feeling like to come home 🤗🙋♀️👍
Everyhing was ok 👍
We spent an excellent and lovely four days at the new Movenpick resort in February during Ramadan 2026. Our stay was made particularly enjoyable by the excellent service during the breakfast seating by waiters Ramadan and Gamal. We are most appreciative to these two men in particular for their kindness and thoughtfulness and hospitality. Paul and Joyce
The manager, Taysser, was especially kind and helpful.
nothing
From check-in till ckeck-out everything was perfect. I know the hotel since 19 years. the concicerce Ali also Taysser from the guest realtion supported me a lot to have a very nice stay again in the hotel. the room was upgradet to a suite, shokran gazilah. The staff with my friend Mahmoud Abd Eldaim and his team with Hamada and the other guis take care for every guest at the pool. The food up on the tower was also awsom as always. And today morning I had a wunderfull breakfast C A lot of staff in the Restaurant regonized me again. It‘s always like coming home 🤗😊 shokran, shokran
Very nice hotel well located near the Nile Spacious and comfortable room. All staff listened to our requests. Many thanks to Madam Taysser for her efficiency in finding us a restaurant on our preference at the Mezza Rest. It perfectly matched our expectations.
Localización Jardines
The property are old but clean and functions well. All the staffs are friendly and helpful. We are grateful of the upgrade. We really enjoyed the view.
Nope
The hotel is adequately managed, and the room size is fine, but the interior feels very outdated—closer to 20–30 years old. Staff training needs improvement. When we arrived early and waited in the lobby, we asked for water and were told there was no complimentary option and we would need to purchase it. For a property claiming five stars, that is not an acceptable response. In the room, two large 1‑liter bottles of water were provided, which was enough for us. However, when we asked if additional water would be available if needed, we were told no. Even though we didn’t require more, the refusal itself felt inhospitable. At $300 per night, a couple of extra bottles of water should not be a barrier to guest comfort. These interactions immediately left a negative impression and will likely make this my first and last Mövenpick experience. Additionally, the shower basin appears poorly designed. The floor is flat, so water pools instead of draining, leaving you standing in dirty water after showering. This issue was present in both rooms we stayed in. However, the landscaping is very nice, feels an oasis in the desserts. Also worth to mention is the 4-5 pm’s free chocolate bar is very nice. But most time we were outside and unable to enjoy. The Buffett breakfast is not in good quality and having large selections as properly five stars hotel. But the other two restaurants on the property are pretty good in quality. Overall, the service and facilities did not meet the expectations of a five‑star property
This is a very good hotel. We upgraded to the new building following reviews of the'classic' rooms on line but certainly the common parts of the older building and the lounge were pleasant enough. Grounds very well kept and ferry runs efficiently over to the west bank 24/7 at no extra cost. All staff encountered were friendly and efficient and rooms were clean. However, we had no idea of mini bar prices as no information left in room and a call to reception didn't help. All hotel services are on the hotel TV facility which can be cumbersome and lacking in detail. We tried the Lounge and Mezze restaurants and can recommend, particularly the latter. Would advise booking the Paragon well in advance as both were booked up (only 34 covers) fully during our brief stay. I hated the 'musak' by the pool and Lounge.
Really great hotel with great service and great food. Small misunderstanding on our reservation and a very talented young woman named Habibi sorted out the problem and moved us to room 401, corner room with two balconies one facing Nile, one facing the huge pool. She could not have been more helpful. Pool is huge and very nice with snack bar and drinks, Shuttle boat to hotel runs very 15 minutes but frankly I think it goes as needed. Breakfast and dinner buffet is as good as Buffett can be. I would definitely return and I am a very frequent international traveler f9r 40 years.
A big disappointment. I was in the old building, honestly some 3 stars hotel are better than this . Rooms are old & damaged , bathrooms moldy , breakfast is not good , there were old flowers in the vase that the water hasn’t been changed for days and it was rotted and smelly . Even the new building coffee shop food was very bad . The only positive part was the location and the big garden and the view but for the price really not worthy . If you stay go to the new building.. still not sure about the good quality.
Location. Services. Ambience. Food.
This is a beautiful property set in a serene natural environment. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful, with a balcony offering stunning views of the river and surrounding mountains—truly a calming retreat. Breakfast was enjoyable, particularly the fresh fruits and yogurt. However, there were no gluten-free options available. The only area that needs improvement is the bedding. Unfortunately, the bed was not comfortable, and the pillows were lumpy and quickly flattened, which resulted in neck pain. Upgrading the mattresses and pillows would greatly enhance the overall guest experience.
Beautiful hotel, staff and service were wonderful.
Everything was really nice!
We found the staff particularly friendly and eager to please. Everyone spoke excellent English and enjoyed our meager attempts to speak Arabic. The quality of the food was outstanding with more than generous portions. The pool staff, led by Mahmoud Abd Eldaim, were so friendly, helpful and attentive to each of our multiple requests that our time spent there was relaxing, peaceful, and absolutely wonderful. We highly recommend the Mövenpick for your next stay in Aswan!
Mr. Ahmed and his team at the spa were fantastic. The services were exceptional specially the deep tissue massage.
excellent view, large space
noisy HVAC
Unacceptable electric outages in the middle of the night. Stay for 2 nights, from moment we checked in late evening room only had electricity in the hallway entrance and bathroom. Complained to receptionist and he said government electrical outage. Waited a while room completely dark. So we demanded to move to another room that had electricity. Second night electrical outage again more than an hour so complain again to the receptionist. Unacceptable for a 300+ USD a night. Don’t stay here truly not worth it. We were in the new wing that look old already, I suspect this hotel is not well maintained and in trouble. It has a very nice location, what a pity !
Absolutely Horrendous Experience My stay at Mövenpick Aswan was hands down one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. We paid $700 for two nights and were given a filthy room — dirty carpets, visible dust, and to top it off, NO RUNNING WATER. Yes, no water at all. Completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a property that claims to be luxury. When we complained, instead of resolving the issue professionally, we were told the only option was to move to the “new building” — but only if we paid an additional $200. Desperate at that point, we agreed. Guess what? The so-called upgrade came with a BROKEN SHOWER that was never fixed despite repeated complaints. To make matters worse, hotel management verbally promised a refund for one night due to the ordeal. That promise turned out to be completely empty. No refund was processed. No follow-up. No accountability.
Got an upgrade to a deluxe room in the newer side of the hotel, which is the nicest part so good start to our stay. Loved the location and views. Enjoyed getting the free ferry (3 mins to cross) to the main bank.Nice touches like cakes and chocolate on arrival, complimentary lemon juice at the pool. Fantastic service, especially at the pool. Great food too. We ate dinner at both Mezze and Panorama and can recommend both. If you have a sweet tooth the pastry display at breakfast is a sight to behold! Best hotel to stay in Aswan, unless you want to fork out 1000 USD pn - and we went there to the bar and the service was rubbish! Only minor critcisms; no bathrobes in room, shower needed replacing, gym equipment is old and in need of maintenance.
Wonderful stay! The hotel was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully designed. The staff were friendly and always happy to help. The room was quiet with a lovely view, breakfast was delicious, and the location was perfect. Excellent value for money—highly recommended! Special thanks to tisir PR. Manager
An outstanding stay from start to finish. The hotel is elegant, spotless, and wonderfully comfortable. Special thanks to the Guest Relations Manager for the warm welcome, professionalism, and personal care that made our visit truly memorable. Highly recommended! Mervat and Abu zeid with Ashraf at breakfasts was so helpful for us
We had a wonderful stay at Movenpick Aswan. Special thanks to Tisir for the warm hospitality, quickly arranging a room change, and offering us access to the beautiful Panorama Restaurant. The service was exceptional and truly made our visit memorable. Highly recommended! Wael and Emad and mervat been very welcoming to serve
Excellent poolside experience - was really well looked after by the lovely Mahmoud, Karam and Hamada from the pool bar. Thank you so much gentlemen!
I cannot even believe this is listed as a 5 star! We had no idea that there were new and old buildings. We ended up in the old building which is dingy and decrepit. The carpets were filthy and fraying. The room was dark and lackluster. There was no gym at the old building at all, so you had to walk a long distance to the new building to use the gym. Even once we made it there, one of two treadmills was broken and it was very warm which made the workout less pleasant. The food at the breakfast buffet was not great (e.g., baked beans were hard) and it was difficult to get service. They have this weird "deer park" where poor deer are kept captive in a small enclosed area for unknown reasons- they should release them into the wild where they belong. Positives- the grounds were very pretty with nice views of the Nile- I think that's about the only positive I could come up with from my stay at this hotel. Summary: The old building is not suitable for a "5 star" property and is not good value- this should be torn down or fully renovated to be up to par. MAKE SURE WHICH BUILDING YOU ARE BOOKING!!! Important note: You have to take a boat to and from this property to get to the town since it's on an island so build in plenty of time for this!!!
The staff at the hotel were all very nice and were the highlight of the hotel. the downside was that for the first 2 nights we did t really sleep. We were upgraded to a suite in the old building and the noise from both the river (loud music) and the building meant we asked to be moved into a small room instead on the other side of the building. This was even noisier with loud music again till about 2 am. The food at the pool was lovely and the other restaurants we tried were ok.
The Movenpick Aswan Egypt property was a great setting. I would have rated this advertised 5-Star Hotel as a 5, but we had air conditioning issues in our room every night that hotel management did not address. You are not allowed essentially to control your own temperature in the room, and I will explain how I determined this. We stayed 3 nights, and during the day and into the evening the air conditioning worked fine. But after raising an issue that after midnight the cool air essentially shutoff, and the temperature started to rise even though it was set lower. I informed the Guest Relations staff member Shahd, who I might had was wonderful in providing exceptional customer service, as she made us dining reservations, and arranged a transfer to the Airport, but the issue with how the hotel controls the air conditioning CENTRALLY and shuts it off to save money/energy at the customers expense is not something she could overcome on our behalf. This is a hotel management issue. They know what they are doing, and did not care to address it with me no matter me raising the issue. My wife has hot flashes at night, so the only reason we made it through the night was the fan I bring on international travel we can use to blow air directly on her. Each night we woke up hot between 12:30am and 2:30am and even though the A/C setting was at 18.5 C, it was already at 20 C and just blowing not cool air. The temperature would continue to rise and typically when we woke up it was 21 to 22 C. I am not naive, and do understand how European/International hotels will reduce and control air conditioning, but I have also raised the issue when it has happened in both Greece and Italy and both times they could override it for the room for the duration of the stay. So, I know it can be done. The Movenpick hotel management made the choice not to. If it was not for the excellent service provided by the staff, Shahd in Guest Relations, Hamada and Mahmoud at the Pool, and Ramadan at the morning Breakfast buffet, I would have given a 2 instead of a 3. The guest services staff at this hotel is impeccable, the food is outstanding, and the grounds are beautiful. Hotel management needs a wake up call to not nickel and dime guests over energy costs when they pay $300+ USD a night.
Location
Classic and delux rooms are situated in the old building which is hardly 3 stars and very different from the new one This should have been clear to customers unfortunately we were not informed and were mislead Am v disappoint
Location
The old building is sold as Mövenpick it’s hardly 3 stars very poor are facilities damaged had to ask for repair endlessly, dirty carpets, and totally mis sold by booking as 5 stars Unfortunately the new building same price but proper 5 stars no one e alert us of the huge difference
Exceptional intimate hotel, strategically located where everything can be done on foot The rooms are beautiful, the staff very intentional and professional The director of the guest relations is exceptionally kind thanks Tisir We will be visiting this place soon
Location: Amazing location on the Nile Resort: Beautiful and well maintained Restaurant/ Food: Good food and service at Orangarie, Mezze, and Panaroma 360 Staff: Friendly and welcoming Room: Disappointing. We had upgraded to the duplex room. Room was spacious. But it was outdated, carpet was stained, very old and dusty. Don’t stay in the old tower building. Very run down. Expected better from a 5⭐️ hotel for the price we paid. Front desk: Unfortunately, we didn’t receive the level of service from a high end hotel. We got better service from other staff at the hotel. Not sure how a high end hotel has not invested in front desk training. Our check in experience was not very pleasant. Spa: Good experience. Overall, we had an average experience in Aswan. We hope things improve at Mövenpick. They seem to be geared to deal with Nike river cruise crowd, but don’t cater towards individual travelers who don’t want the same big group experience.
Would have given 0 star if it wasn’t for the wait staff in the first floor area lounge and pool, and those driving the golf carts. Our room was in the old part of the hotel First, they told me I had no booking when we had booked and did not attempt to find a solution. We asked to speak to the manager/head of reservations and they made it seem like it was such a hard thing to accomplish, yet the manager was only in a room behind reception Second, I finally received a room but no slipper or robes, had two balconies which I didn’t open but the room was cold and it turned out the glass didn’t fit the frame properly so a big gap was present allowing bugs to enter and the room to be freezing. There was the usual shampoo, etc and a hairdryer attached to the wall. I could hear music outside at night and the garden staff in the morning despite all windows closed. Third, we wanted to go to the Old Cataract hotel, long story short, this hotel called the old cataract and not checking how many we were they got us all the wrong information resulting in not having a booking (which you should get if more than 2 people) and half an hour trying to find a table at the Cataract. Even the information from this hotel kept changing, person to person and even individually, the information they provided depended on who in our party asked them. The women who we asked about the Old Cataract had the nerve to ask me to leave her/the hotel a review whilst there, before our trip had even ended! I will never stay in this hotel again for the lack of decent service from reception, to the rooms, it’s not worth what you pay. There are nice things like the heated swimming pool/view of the Nile but having decent reception and excursion service is a basic requirement which they cannot meet.
Everything ran smoothly from start to finish, with no issues at all. The hotel was comfortable, well located, and delivered exactly what you’d expect from the brand. Special mention to Taysser for her professionalism and patient Highly recommended 👌
It was an amazing experience for me and everything from service ,atmosphere, location, trips was great View from my room was amazing Thank you tisir for changing our room to closer one to elevator as I had a knees issues 😅 highly appreciated This place is highly recommended we will be vack soon thanks Mervat and resturants team Abu zeid and Ashraf for taking care about our requests during breakfast 😀
