Grey Street Hotel

Centrally located to most things we wanted to see/do. Friendly polite staff who always had a smile.

Room was dark as not much natural light getting through. King-size bed would of been much more comfortable to sleep in rather than a double bed. Don't let above put you off as some clients prefer this. We would stay again if available next time we are in town.

Staff excellent. check in was brilliant. Hotel clean and nicely decorated.

Very soft mattress WiFi hotspots

Always impressed when we stay here. Amazing value for the price.

Great location, centrally located to area sights I wanted to see, close to public transport. The staff were all pleasant and more than helpful. The room and bed were comfy as well.

My windows looked out into a dark, four walled area - no view. But I honestly wasn't in there much.

Friendly staff and lovely room

Nothing

The staff at the Grey Street Hotel was so helpful -- we had to have bags sent ahead to the hotel and they were ready and waiting for us. We arrived before check-in time and they stowed our backpacks for us while we went to explore the city. Newcastle is a gorgeous city and Grey Street is breathtaking.

The elevator is quite tiny but it did the job. The bathroom could benefit from additional hooks and places to put toiletry bags. The coffee machine at breakfast was having issues. That's about it.

Great location. Really friendly and helpful staff.

Handy in town centre

Small bed

Friendly staff, great Northeast welcome! Excellent breakfast, lots of options. Location is good for city centre, theatre and the Quayside. Quiet & spacious rooms. Very comfortable bed.

Great location and lovely hotel with an independent and creative feel to it. Excellent breakfast and quiet for central location, so very comfortable stay.

Room could have been a bit larger

Super goede ligging, geweldig ontbijt

Central location, friendly staff, comfortable rooms with black out curtains.

I liked the cosy room. Breakfast was very good with very friendly staff. Next time I come to Newcastle I choose this hotel again.

Not very good wifi

Lovely selection for breakfast, freshly cooked and cold fruits on offer. Free WiFi. Bedrooms were very comfortable. The location of the hotel is with 7min walk to the central and monument metro station.

It was so close to parking and a lot of different resturants and bars ! The room was huge and very comfortable . Absoloutley outstanding for the price !

Theres nothing we didnt like it was all amazing ! Highly recommend .

Very central

No plugs next to the bed. The doors to the rooms slam loudly.

It was a really great location for my event I was attending and incredibly nice staff in all aspects of my stay. I enjoyed the room in terms of size, and I slept quite well on the trip. The bed felt a bit old/used, but I really slept well so no complaints there. Parts of the space felt a bit older, but overall, it was a good experience. The towels were quite nice, and the breakfast was lovely.

It felt like the bath toiletries were watered down which was a bit strange. If you're offering free soap and shampoo in the shower, I'm not sure why you would water it down as it was hard to get out of the dispenser and not as useful. The room was up stairs despite being a lift, so with heavy luggage, it wasn't super easy to get to my room.

Very central

Location

Ottima colazione.

Central location, lovely building and very modern facilities. Excellent variety and choice and of breakfast which was high quality.

Our particular suite was split over 2 levels with bathroom upstairs and bedroom/lounge area downstairs. This wasn’t to our personal preference.

Lovely spacious room, comfy bed. Clean and friendly. Good location.

Breakfast was very poor for the price paid. Could do with paint touch updates. The bathroom we had had a huge hatch and it was all flaking and falling on the floor.

The breakfast was so nice plenty fresh choice and the menu for fresh cooked was so nice I had the full English and my husband and the eggs benidict

Room was good though lots of steps both in the room and to get to the room. Excellent breakfast.

Stairs

Great location and the room was lovely minus the big wall in the middle.

Friendly staff nice room with a very comfortable bed and an excellent breakfast

Shower instead of bath

Trendy and spotless, fab breakfast

Location it’s in the center

No onsite parking

Location and the quality of the rooms

Nothing

Perfect location, staff were so friendly and especially the cleaning lady such a good job and so lovely

The pillows were a bit lumpy everything else was perfect

Excellent location, lovely staff, good breakfast

Huge room, well appointed, clean, air con

Lush

Nothing

Location was good

Room was dated and dark, bar was closed down

Great location and friendly staff! Breakfast was great and really good value!

Our suite was small - I expected more for the money. The “split level” just meant the bathroom was up a flight of stairs… It needs a bit of updating, tired in some places. Things keep shutting - the spa, no longer there, no bar, no gym? Seems like they are on the wind down or something!

Excellent location. Good sized clean & comfortable room. Fresh breakfast buffet & freshly cooked hot breakfast. Would recommend!

There was no bar to have a drink and relax.

The hotel is based on one of the finest Georgian streets in the country. Formerly a business area with banks and offices it is nowadays occupied by some decent restaurants and hostelries. My room was very comfortable and on a warm evening the A/C was just right.

I couldn't get the hotel's wifi to work and my room may have been a 'black spot'. It wasn't a big issue for me as I was only there for a few hours.

The only thing I could fault is the shower wasn’t very powerful

Great facilities and friendly helpful staff.

The woman on security on Sunday morning was very helpful

Very good location, central!

An old property

The hotel is in very good location and close to the train station. Everything is within walking distance. The staff are lovely and the rooms are always clean and comfy beds

Stayed here many times but this recent visit the breakfast was not near as good as previous visits. The staff again were lovely and attentive but the food was not the best. I presume they have a different chef now, which is a shame as it just wasnt up to the same standard. Hash browns were rock hard and inedible and the sourdough toast and scrambled egg the same. Couldn't even cut through the toast it was brick hard. Just small things and attention to detail but it wasn't as good as before sadly. Our shower/bath had no hot water and didn't drain away properly. Other rooms we stayed in were fine but room 4 had a few issues. Would ask for a different room next time.

The junior suite room, the staff and location of the hotel in relation to the city attractions was great.

Nothing. Everything was as we required.

Eigenlijk niets.

Location

All ok

Great value for money. Big room. Central location. Staff v good. Breakfast v good

Great location felt very safe as a solo traveller and the room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Staff all lovely and helpful

Breakfast was good but not great

Central

Location excellent and staff very friendly. Breakfast great value as we pre-booked.

Room was on the small side,

The hotel was very central and in a great location.. the beds were super comfy

The showers weren’t great they took ages to heat up and there was no pressure in them

Brilliant stay, loved the added touch of a card and chocolates for my MILs 80th birthday, much appreciated thank you.

Nothing

Excellent room and stunning breakfast

The lift was tiny

Great location

The walls are thin, and the street is noisy. The beds were not the best, and during breakfast you could only get 1 warm food/person

Everything superb.

Great location , city centre on your doorstep. Nice cosy rooms, staff great.

All good

Good central location. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable although a bit small for our preference. The air conditioning was a godsend and worked perfectly.

The bath/shower could use an upgrade. The shower was not great and was probably the main letdown for us. The steps to the room were rather steep and would be a bit hazardous if anyone was unsteady on their feet.

De locatie.

-

Great night staff.

Shower screen door was too close to the sink could have smashed very easy.

Fantastic service. Comfortable room with lovely White Company toiletries. Wonderful touches for my dog eg plush dog bed, treats, water bowl and breakfast sausages.

Nothing.

Clean, central hotel....lovely friendly staff. Beautiful breakfast (vegan option available)

Everything no issues

Soft pillows

Personeel is super vriendelijk en relaxed. We mochten de fietsen veilig stallen. Mooie locatie en sfeervol hotel. Ontbijt was voortreffelijk

The breakfast was excellent and the room great value for money.

The hotel is on Grey Street, which is emblematic and perfect for the centre and down to the river. Breakfast was fine.

The fact that the aircon was not working in our room in the heatwave and couldn't be fixed until the next day was a first negative . The staff didn't really have much of a solution to offer either. On checking in we were told the hotel didn't accept pound notes above 20 pounds. So could we use our credit card to be paid immediately, no suggestion of us trying to go to the bank and change. So totally unhelpful response and the rate of exchange cost us money. The room was a little dark and looked over a drab interior patio.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was excellent value for money, and my room was lovely, spotlessly clean and cleaned beautifully every day. The breakfast was exceptional, with a fantastic choice, and the location was perfect for me. I had a really enjoyable stay and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended!

The room was a good size. The bed, and pillows were extremely comfortable. The Breakfast was fantastic.

Very clean, quiet room, considering location, breakfast lovely, loads of choice, will return, beds so comfy! party of 4 all happy

Nothing

Very nice

Staff were really friendly, helping us get a slightly earlier check in and giving ideas of where to go in the city, and the room was very comfortable and clean.

View from room wasnt great as was at the back but it didn't impact our stay at all, just might do if plans to stay longer

Breakfast was great. Location was great

The mattress was hard and not comfortable.

Pillows

Mooie ruime kamer Aangenaam en lekker ontbijt Goede ligging

Centrally located and very nice

Up and down the levels/ floors was a challenge with bags but very minor and understandable due to the building configuration

I loved the location of the property and how cute it looked with the flower arch over the door! The staff were so friendly and chatty. Nothing was too much trouble. The bed was super comfy. The room was so spacious! And unlike other hotels I’ve stayed at, the air con stays on so when I got back from a night out my room was nice and cool which I very much appreciated in this heat! Very central for all amenities.

Nothing - I loved it :)

Excellent location

Where you had breakfast (basement)

Excellent location, lovely room & breakfast was very high standard.

Nothing

Central location, friendly staff, good value breakfast

Only 1 small lift, could be noisy, windows didn’t open

Excelente ubicacion, estado del edificio y amablidad del personal

Nada me disgusto

Centrally located, the King room was spacious, staff was excellent

Creaky floor, bit of a maze leading up to the rooms

The room was really nice comfy bed clean and in a great location,no noise considering we were in the city center

Lighting a bit dark but not a problem

The room was spacious, clean and worth every penny spent. The hotel is in great location to everything in Newcastle and the staff were extremely friendly and made us feel welcome and I must say, the twin beds mattress was so comfortable in room 26, better than my mattress at home.

I have no criticism as my stay was perfect.

Very nice inside

Air conditioning didn’t work and the bed was not the best

Not first stay, breakfast very good as always however not sure on reasoning it’s moved location but previous location was much nicer

Nothing to fault apart from if very picky , blackout curtains did quite cover all of window so quite bright early

Location

Shower leaked, leaving the bathroom floor in puddles of water. The bedding was covered in human hair.

Location was good

Tired & bathrooms were in need of attention

Loved everything about the Hotel

Die Lage

Schlafsofa unmöglich, Abfluss verstopft, kein Ansprechpartner vor Ort

Clean and beds very comfortable

No bar
