I like the kids club because Paola and Corina are the best to the best also the games. They do different activities with kids every day. I would like to come back and make more Keychains. 😄
We loved our stay here!! Big shout out to Monse, Yare and Penny at the kids club- they were amazing with our kids and kept them entertained with games, face painting and arts and crafts!
Our kids love Kids Club! Piñata Fridays are a hit every year!! They enjoy all the activities, including making pop-its, slime, sensory balls, bracelets, face masks, pintacaritas, water balloon fights, and playing with the other kids. This year they even celebrated a kid's birthday in Kids Club. Corina and Paola are absolutely wonderful, and my daughter even ran up to Corina on her lunch break to show her the crab pinchers she found. They truly love and remember the kids, and it shows every year!
I have been coming to this resort since I was a child, arriving with my parents and feeling an immediate sense of joy the moment we stepped through the doors. What makes this place extraordinary is that, decades later, my own children now feel that same excitement. It is a rare and beautiful thing to watch them fall in love with the very traditions that shaped my childhood. I still remember the warm welcome at the entrance, always made special by Jeremias. As a kid, that greeting felt magical, and to this day it carries the same heartfelt sincerity. My children now run toward the pool just as I once did, and they experience the same delight in picking up their clean, perfectly folded towels and being greeted by Pascual and Mizael. There is something profoundly meaningful about seeing them enjoy the exact moments that meant so much to me. The gardens have always been another source of joy. The care and dedication of the gardeners have kept them immaculate year after year. Their work creates an atmosphere of calm and beauty that elevates every stay. Walking through those well‑maintained paths has always been one of the most relaxing parts of our visits. I also want to give a huge shout‑out to the Kids Club, especially Cori and Paola. Leaving our children in their care means knowing they will have fun, make friends, create wonderful arts and crafts, and feel completely safe. They enjoy themselves so much that they never want to leave, and as a parent, that peace of mind allows you to truly relax and enjoy your vacation. Another special part of our experience is the pottery studio with Manuel and Claudia. It has become a must‑do activity for us. The environment is calming, the company is fantastic, and the process itself is incredibly enjoyable. After Manuel adds his artistic touch to the pieces, you feel like a true Mexican artist yourself because the finished products are always beautiful and full of character. I am also deeply grateful to Laura, who keeps our villa clean and pristine throughout our stay. Her attentiveness, care, and consistency make a tremendous difference. She is always aware of what we need, often before we even ask, and her dedication adds a sense of comfort and ease that we appreciate more than words can express. This year, we also had an unforgettable experience thanks to Luciano from Thomas More. He coordinated the most extraordinary visit to the aquarium, where my daughter began her birthday celebration swimming with dolphins. Later at the Kids Club, Cori and Paola continued the celebration with a piñata and gathered all the children to sing happy birthday. It was a truly memorable moment that made her day incredibly special. These individuals, and many others, have shaped not just memorable vacations, but cherished family traditions. Their kindness, dedication, and genuine care are what make this hotel feel like home.
Best time ever for relaxing and enjoying the food and facilities. Salvador was a fantastic person cleaning our room such efficient and very friendly made us feel at home.
It was our first time in Cancun, and the staff made us feel right at home. Everyone was so friendly, always smiling.LOVE IT
We had a wonderful stay at the Royal Cancun. Our room was so spacious, immaculately clean & we had an amazing view of the sea. The food was fantastic. We will definitely be back!
You can't go wrong here, the beach is not the best, but overall, the quality of the resort is world class. The food and the staff were absolutely amazing there was not a single moment where I felt unsafe here the security is around the clock and if you need anything somebody is always there to help you. The location is excellent you only need to walk about 5 minutes to get to the marina if you want to go to the island or want to participate in Marine activities
Beautiful Villas very clean area. Everyone was very nice. The food was good the pool service was excellent. Definitely will come again .
Essen und Getränke beim all inclusive eher durchschnittlich.
very nice hotel, family atmosphere, spacious apartment, cleanliness, nice garden and beach resort, tennis courts, towels supply, enough sunbeds on the beach and pools, gorgeous seaview, quiet beach, safe location close to boat departures. Great to share the Royal Sands as well.
Royal Cancun We had a wonderful overall experience in Cancun, and the service throughout the resort was generally amazing. The staff were friendly, attentive, and clearly put a lot of effort into making guests feel welcome. That said, there are a few areas where we feel the resort could improve. My parents have been timeshare owners for more than 20 years, so we were disappointed that there wasn’t an opportunity to upgrade to a room with two bathrooms. After that many years of ownership and loyalty, we would have expected some additional perks or consideration, especially when traveling with family. We also had a frustrating experience with a couple of the bartenders at the pool bar. On multiple occasions, I was standing there before other guests, yet people who arrived after me were served first. This happened more than once, which made it feel like I was being overlooked. The rest of the service was excellent, so hopefully this was an isolated issue. Another area that could really use improvement is signage throughout the resort. It can be difficult to figure out where you’re going, and adding more directional signs would make a big difference. Even something as simple as painting room numbers and directional arrows on some of the walls would be extremely helpful. Additionally, the atmosphere around certain parts of the pool area felt a bit quiet at times. There was a noticeable lack of music in some sections, which made those areas feel less lively compared to others. Adding more speakers and ensuring consistent music throughout the pool areas and resort would greatly enhance the overall vacation vibe. Finally, after being timeshare owners for so many years, we have to question whether the overall cost and commitment of ownership provides enough value compared with simply booking a vacation when you want to travel. Timeshare ownership should come with significantly more benefits, perks, upgrades, or recognition for long-term owners. After 20+ years, we would hope to feel that loyalty is rewarded in a more meaningful way. Overall, we enjoyed our Cancun vacation and appreciate the wonderful service we received from most of the staff. With some improvements to the pool bar service, signage, music and atmosphere, and especially the benefits offered to long-term timeshare owners, the experience could be even better.
Very good family oriented resort. Calm water on the beach, nice pools if you are so inclined. Main restaurant has both buffet service and menu service with a variety of cuisines. La Trattoria has good Italian food options but reservations are required. Rooms were bright, airy, clean and well maintained. Very pleasant place for a family vacation.
Friendly staff, beautiful grounds, very clean, good food & cocktails. Was pleasantly surprised to not see any critters or insects!
If you are looking for a relaxing, calm vacation this is the spot. Friendly staff. All the rooms have two bedrooms, when I thought I booked a one-bedroom, I was surprised when I saw I had two bedrooms.
Because this is a members’ hotel. And even though you booked an all-inclusive, it actually only covers about 90 percent of everything. There are items that you do have to pay a little extra for. For example if you want steak they have house steak which is free but if you want one rib-eye steak it will cost you approximately 30 dollars extra to get the rib-eye. Again most things are included; it’s just certain items that will require an extra fee. Also because of it being a members’ hotel every time you eat, anywhere in the property, you have to wait for a bill after that you have to sign, which becomes annoying. It’s not like you could just go into the hall grab a burger and keep walking, NO you have to give them your physical room key, give them your room number, order, eat it and then wait for a bill that you have to sign and if you want to tip you leave it on the bill which gets charge to the room when you leave the property. Again just annoying and I wish they found a better system because the property is a good place to stay for a relaxing calm vacation.
this resort is very nice for large families but if you are looking for things to do after 5 there is nothing to do we had to leave the resort because there was nothing to do but if you wanna just chill and don't want to do any activities then this resort is perfect very clean staff is great food was 3 options but was so good pool was clean never crowded we had a great time i wouldn't stay again because my kids was bored just at the resort itself
We stayed here to celebrate my son & his best friends's graduation from high school. Both will be leaving for college soon. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort! It was clean and well appointed! The Palapa is an enjoyable outdoor restaurant right on the beach. La Trattoria serves delicious Italian food with a poolside view. The Royal Market had everything we needed to cook breakfast in the mornings and snacks & beers for sitting poolside. We visited the sister resort, The Royal Sands, using the free shuttle and had a great time there too! Lounge chairs under straw palapas right on the beach are readily available at both resorts. The location is just a 5 minute walk to the ferry building that will take you to Isla Mujeres. Ubers are easy to get and take you on your excursions or restaurants/stores outside the resort. They pick up on the sidewalk of the resort but will return you to the lobby area. I liked that the main bedroom with bath was upstairs for added privacy and there was a 2nd bedroom with twin beds downstairs & a Murphy bed in the living room. So everyone in our group slept comfortably in their own beds. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend it to anyone interested.
The staff at the Royal Cancun is exceptional!!! We are especially grateful for the kindness and service we have experienced for many years from Reynaldo and Jeremias!!! They always greet us like family!!!
Great location, Amazing Resort. We had amazing time for 8 days, everything went very well, the rooms very clean the bed very comfortable. We will be back to Royal.
Location was ok, have to take taxi to shopping and nightlife but luckily not too expensive. Beach was well maintained, as was the entire resort. Rooms were nice but mattresses and pillows were extremely lacking! Very uncomfortable and made a good night’s rest impossible. All-inclusive cost is only worth it if you drink a bunch of alcohol and hit the buffets. La Trattoria was not good at all, La Palapa was hit or miss. If this resort had been closer to local Taquerias and other eateries, we most likely would not have done all-inclusive. Taking the shuttle to the sister resort definitely helped the availability of food and I would have spent more time there if I could have. Staff was amazing and definitely the highlight of the trip, other than the beach and pool bar (which could have stayed open longer for adults).
Food and Service was excellent. Buildings may be a little dated and beach is not the greatest but the food was top notch and bar service was excellent.
Not many vegetarian friendly options. Bugs in the room, take precautions. Kids club does not have English friendly options. Room service is delayed. The spa does not have sauna and steam.
Big room and very good staff

Great hotel for a family vacation. If you want the party vibe this is not your resort. Excellent service from the time you check in to the time you check out. Food is excellent you must try their Italian restaurant (you need a reservation but it is very easy to get one). The staff at the pool grill and beach lounge chairs are great. Manuel and Patty will go the extra mile to make it a great vacation for you. I definitely recommend getting the all inclusive package it is worth every penny.
Very relaxing resort without the hassles of loud main tourist sites. Very well equipped, calm beach, and nice onsite store and restaurants. The staff is always helpful and service good. I come yearly.
Staff very friendly, they remember faces & names, room was very clean & had a fresh smell

Loved it! Will be back :) It was my first international trip with my kids, 8 and 10. We had the BEST time, and my kids didn’t want to leave!
Shuttle to other resort, laid back relax feeling!
Restaurants easier availability! Bars close at 10pm!
The royal cancun is situated very close to the ferry terminal for isla mujeres so is a perfect place to stay if you want to go over there. Also a great place to avoid the seaweed as this shore is almost completely unaffected. We had a 2bed2bath suite and it was very generous is size with a full lounge and a duplex arrangement. Full kitchen too. Very clean. Took off one star as the food and drinks were not great. Drinks were very synthetic tasting. Too many sugary syrups. The buffet looked good but didn't live up to expectations.
Tremendous family experience. Great staff and amenities. Food was very varied and terrific. Good children's menu choices as well. Very clean,
Nada
The service level is outstanding 👍 Great team and very smooth check-in and check-out! The All inclusive package is a real PLUS! You can enjoy the facilities at two great hotels.
Nothing, it was a perfect vacation.
The Hotel is amazing, the all inclusive food is real, different foods and drink, the food menu changes every day. We were close to a calm beach, amazing for kids to play, the food service at the beach is friendly and fast, the food were delicious. I really recommend the all inclusive.
no complains...
The la palapa restaurant is at the beach side and have the good ocean view. But the service doesn’t seem like the ocean views. Took long time for waiting get even a cup of water while setting also checking out took a while too. My baby son was too thirsty and I just ask a water or milk for him then it took forever that make him crying a lot.
Bien
Todo bien
Loved our time at The Royal Cancún. Resort was beautiful and clean. Staff was nice and helpful. The rooms are clean and spacious. The only thing is that we did not like the location because of the road noise. We had the lagoon view, but basically it's the parking lot and road. Carlos was extremely helpful and kind. We loved on Chichen Itza excursion with Marion through Thomas More Travel. Highly recommend!
I am writing to share feedback regarding our recent stay. As a hospitality industry professional, I value constructive feedback and believe it is essential for maintaining high service standards. Our room was spectacular, the view was amazing, and the concierge team was excellent. However, because we paid for an all-inclusive package for a one-day stay, the rest of our experience fell short of expectations. While lunch was amazing, the food quality at dinner and breakfast was lacking. Furthermore, the dining service lacked warmth. Ironically, we received much better, more attentive service from our food runner than our assigned waiter, though we tipped both. Most importantly, we were celebrating my daughter’s first birthday. I requested a crib and noted the celebration in our booking notes. Upon arrival, the crib was missing, forcing me to call down for delivery, and no effort was made to recognize her milestone birthday.Excellent service is what creates loyal guests, but unfortunately, we did not leave with that feeling. I hope this feedback helps your team refine its operations.
Staff here is unmatched. I’ve had multiple stays here since 2011 and I’m afraid if I praise this place too strongly too many folks might want to come. It’s much more beautiful here than many of the photos online depict. We had an excellent vacation with safe and easy transportation with Thomas More (tip: go online and sign up for Thomas more transportation to the resort from the airport and don’t get sucked in to talking with all the very talented but motivated salespeople when you get off your plane) then schedule your ride back to the airport with them during your vacation, it was relatively inexpensive [~50USD for a private van], safe, and staff is very accommodating and friendly. This resort is also a really easy walking distance from some great restaurants like hijos de la tostada and others! It’s beach front and has two really nice pools.
Nice resort, but... Spent there from June 13th till June 20th, 2026. NOT ALL INCLUSIVE. Came there with gastro intestinal problem from a prior resort. When received an Account Bill, noticed that I was wrongly charged for rafly $160 USD for eating/drinking at one of their eateries, while I physically couldn't due to my gastric problems. Spoke about it to a manager. She produced a receipt with forged signature where attempt to make it look like mine was definately made. So, I told her that there was a problem at the resort. At least 2 people were involved: one from services with an access to my signature and another at their eatery. One of them had to have a knowledge that I was not ""All inclusive guest," as well. Although my charges were cancelled Im not sure they initiated any investigation in regards the above vrime: impersonating and forging.
A fabulous family week to celebrate a 60th wedding anniversary! As always Royal Cancun took excellent care of all 21 of us! From booking to check in to food allergies to our extra special private beach dinner! The staff is exceptional! We love Reynaldo who greets us like family each year. David and Hector are awesome!
David, Charlie and Alex are the fun coordinators! They bring smiles, playfulness, laughter and so much fun to every activity! They obviously love what they do and we are so glad they do! Bingo, beach volleyball, ping pong and dancing wouldn’t be the same without them. Alex and his animal noises are on point! The Royal Cancun is family friendly and quaint and feels like home for all of us. Seeing the same familiar welcoming faces (Jeremiah and Vincent) over the years to welcome us home is a highlight- always remembering our names as we come and go. The way the staff makes us feel by the personalization and sincerity is why we keep coming back. At the Palapala (thank you Alfredo!) waiters remembered where we prefer to sit and went out of their way (on their own time) to buy and bring mangos from the market for one of our kids. We treasure the time we spend making new friends, spending time catching up with old friends and relaxing at the beach making lasting memories.
This resort is special. Because it's one of the oldest on the island, it's low-rise and beautifully landscaped, with the friendliest and most helpful staff who've often been there for decades. You can always get a lounger by the pool or on the beach and you (and your children) can actually swim in the sea because there is no surf. The main restaurant looks out over the beach. There are multiple water-sports activities available onsite: paddle-boarding, sailing, kayaking, water aerobics. Villas are comfortable. Good wifi. And if this is not enough, you can also use the facilities at its sister-resort, the Royal Sands, taking a free shuttle bus.
10/10 recommend! The rooms were amazing, the pools are amazing, the food is great! Our kids (9 & 10) LOVED the kids club! Will def be coming back!!
We stayed here during our first trip to Cancun. Everything was kept very clean. The grounds were beautiful. We were near the street but noise wasn’t a problem. As a family of four w two young kids we LOVED having a suite. Wish there were more restaurants but the food we did have was great at the main restaurant.
Alex, Carlos and David were very entertaining. They made our stay so much fun. They seem to really enjoy their job and made the games exiting and playful.
An older style resport with villas walking out to the beach or pool. Absolutely pristine condition. Clean and well maintained. Excellent staff who were courteous and spoke English (for the most art). I felt safe. The food was good and the beach was beautiful.
A number of activities for young children, good base from which to go to special venues, friendly staff but need better orientation to various activities and how to access. nice environment to chill out.
It was a good experience staying in Royal Cancún. The resort was clean, quiet in the night, the water was shallow with seaweeds during this season. but we can use the beach in the neighborhood. The staff were friendly and helpful. We also had the opportunity to enjoy the food, beverage and facilities in Royal Sands, which is the sister resort. Recommended.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Kids club staff especially, Paola and Corina. The kids had a great time with them and swimming in the pool. Overall great vacation!
The rooms were spacious and clean. The. Housekeeper came every day and made sure our refrigerator was stocked with beverages. Customer service was excellent and they made sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing vacation. We were able to go to their sister hotel The Royal Sands and enjoy their amenities, that was included in our all inclusive package. We had a great time.
Great family vacation. Friendly staff, impeccably clean, very safe. Beautiful grounds and villas had everything we needed. Would definitely return!
As always the comfort of seeing the same faces and awesome care to their guests. In particular regarding Reynaldo. Always there to assist my family with transportation, offering guidance and ideas.
Family of 5 - two adults, one older teen and two kids, We were pleased with the hotel and the accommodation. We had a beachfront 2-bed, 1-bathroom suite and it worked really well for us. The room is fully stocked with plates, cups, mugs, pots, pans and anything else you might need. Room service comes daily and also replenishes the mini-bar. Mini-bar contents included 2 beers, 2 light beers, 2 cokes, 2 diet cokes, 2 sprite and some bottles water. Food was mostly fine. Nothing super but not bad. There are two restaurants, one open all day and one that opens in the afternoon but requires reservations. The all-day one is where you will go for the buffet breakfast. They don’t have any pre-packaged snacks available, other than ice cream sandwiches at the restaurants / bars. If you wanted any other kind of snack, you would have to go to the on site shop. The resort itself is pretty small and quiet. We had no issues with seats on the sea front or round the pool. Drink and food service round the pool and sea front was fairly regular and the staff were friendly. They do have a pretty good selection of cocktails on their list but they are on the weak side. We arrived the hotel late in the evening so missed the timeshare sell. They did put a “very important” note through our door telling us that we have to come and get our welcome package at the front desk during the day and they even called the room to remind us. We never bothered going to collect it. My only real gripe was that as well as the red bands you get a check-in, you had to hand over your room key every time you ordered something so they could bill your room the zero-dollar charge. This also meant that you had to wait and close out a zero-dollar bill with them each time. You couldn’t just go to a bar, grab a drink and leave. Instead, you had to go to the bar, ask for a drink, give them your room key, they handed that off to someone else who rung it up, you get your drink, then you wait to sign the bill. Very inconvenient and not what I was expecting for an all-inclusive, although my experience of all inclusive is limited so maybe that is the norm. It did make it good for leaving a tip though so you didn’t need to carry cash. You can take the bus over to the Royal Sands resort, which is their sister resort, and use their facilities as well as restaurants. That resort is much bigger and much more busy. Worth doing it for a day but we were glad to get back to the much quieter Royal Cancun. You can not bill anything to your room at that resort, so you are still having to sign the bill each time but you can’t add a tip. We didn’t have any cash that day so nobody got a tip. Transport to and from the hotel by their on-site agency was good and the drivers were friendly. There are daily activities that you can sign up for and there are kayaks, paddle boards etc on the beach front that you can reserve for 30 mins at a time. We all had a good time and enjoyed being at the resort. I would consider coming here again in the future but I’d also look to see what else might be available in the area before making a booking.
Best experience at Royal cancun specially when u get the best welcome by Reynaldo so pleasant n professional always going above and beyond with me n my family hes amazing one of the best ..also want to include Jerry and Vincent they are the the most amazing Bell man , from the welcome n the Good bye so attentive .. calling our cabs for any trip making sure we are all safe and in good hand that mean so much .. amazing guys thank you
I stayed at the Royal Cancun Resorts and had a great time. I have to say that the Reynaldo that works at the Resort is a very nice person very attentive and to the guests. He goes out of his way to help anyone in needs. He makes you feel like family. He is cordial, and has good manners. He is a hard worker. He is a gentleman and knows how to treats the guest. I recommend him anytime. Sincerely Grizel
This is my 3 rd try at leaving a high recommendation on my vacation at the Royal Cancun Resort. Excellent service especially the following people who really gave extraordinary service: Sr Luis Munas, thank you for all those extra delights; coffee room, midday snack cart, afternoon & dinner grill. Under your direction I would like to commend: Miriam, Patricia, & Manuel. Amazing service! Thank you to the Bell Boy station: Jeremiah, Renaldo, & Vincent. House keeping; Addy, Towe desk: Felix, Activity desk Alex & Charlie. Vacation in Paradise
The atmosphere at the Royal Cancun is like being in old Mexico with its red-tiled roofs, black wrought iron and white buildings, coupled with the particular attention paid to the landscaping throughout. The personnel are friendly and accommodating.
If you’re looking for a calm beach, beautiful resort, and an amazing pool, food, and service, while prioritizing safety and comfort - this is your place! Everything about this place is charming and perfect, especially if you’re looking to relax and just have a peaceful time. 10/10 would come back!
As good as it gets for an affordable and relaxing vacation. They have everything you want and nothing you don’t. If you can’t relax here you have issues to resolve. They have plenty of in-house activities as well as a free shuttle to their sister resort the Sands, from early morning to about 22:00. The large team of staff (everyone acknowledges you, from pool to front of office) are all professional at their jobs and are so kind - and it’s obvious to tell they enjoy their jobs. They are so organised and skilled at making you feel home away from home. 10/10. No negatives. A very well maintained and beautiful resort.
Always a great time here at the Royal Cancun!
Muchas gracias.
This review is skewed by the fact that I have been going to the Royal Cancun for 40 plus years and it has regressed yearly, specially since Holiday Inn bought the Royal Resorts. First the staff is still wonderful and gives service to be proud of. The location is nice for a quiet relaxing vacation. The grounds and building are kept in great condition and are very pretty. The negatives are the things that used to make the place special are gone. The little on site store is now poorly stocked and outlandish on prices. The currency exchange convenience has been taken away. A welcome party on Sundays that was a highlight is gone. You will get much more of a Holiday Inn Express here now.
Very family friendly resort, staff were so accommodating and kind to our toddler. The resort was quiet and perfect for our relaxing vacation. The beach is calm no big waves. I wish there were more food options but going to the sands for more variety is always an option and included in the all inclusive option.
My 4 year old son greatly enjoyed going to the kids center everyday and making crafts with Paola and Corina! They were so good with him and made sure he had a lot of fun playing in there.
Royal Cancun is always wonderful. I've been a member for 40 years and a main attraction is employees. Many of them have been there for years. Reynaldo at the front, always helpful and cheerful, remembers us every time. Bartenders-Pedro, Carlos, Antonio, Eder, Darwin, Angel, they're all great. Holiday Inn has made a few changes that aren't too great, but we still love coming twice a year!
The hotel has a good enough set up. The pools are good and some of the extra activities are very good, for example the tennis courts.
The biggest annoyance was sitting at a desk for an hour after check in so the staff could try to convince us to attend a 90-minute presentation to sell us a timeshare. We have two young children who just want to play in the pool and enjoy the sun. Not sit there wanting to be convinced to sign up for the presentation and even less likely to want to actually sit through it. The all inclusive is limited in terms of the drinks available and there seemed to be discrepancies between bars on what was or wasn't covered. Having been on all inclusive vacations in Mexico before, this one didn't meet the high standards set by others in and around Cancun.
A small and laid back resort with attentive staff and better food than at larger resorts. Suites are large for 2, comfortable for 4. Located in a bay, the water is clear, calm and free of seaweed. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing time at this resort, the staff was attentive and so friendly, especially Angel at the beach bar. The room was clean and updated, room service was great and extremely meticulous. I only have a few negatives, I wish they had a few more things for toddlers, my son (3) was too young for the kids activity center. Also the noise from the resort next door was extremely loud until late hours, we could barely sleep, not their fault but just something to note. Also, the sister resort was a let down, the toddler water park was closed for repairs and all the chairs at the pool were already reserved so there was nowhere to sit, but this made us very happy that we choose The Royal Cancun. The food was also very good, especially our meals at La Trattoria. We will definitely be back!
The food and the location
Fijne suites en heel goed eten
Perfect, every small thing was well preserved and absolutely comfortable.

The Royal Cancun is a treasure nestled among the high rises and hustle bustle of Cancun. We love the quieter atmosphere, the intimacy of the place, and meet friends there every year. Highly recommend!
Quiet, relaxing resort with excellent staff starting with the bellman, Reynaldo, on arrival. Rooms and amenities are more than adequate, with all kitchen appliances needed. Villas are cleaned daily and the report grounds are immaculate maintained. However, the living room furniture is very uncomfortable and needs replacement. The convenience store has a lot of groceries and other items, including beer and liquor There are a few pharmacies/drug stores nearby. We do not do the all inclusive as there some outstanding restaurants in the Hotel Zone (i.e.: Puerto Madero and Harry’s) specializing in Italian, seafood and steak. Ubers are available and reasonably priced.
Room was good. Activity staff was great as usual, other staff members as well. The rolling food carts were a nice addition. We heard that the tables by the beach bar were a new dining option for dinner. We checked the menu, and it looked all right. We went to a table about 6:15. We were the only ones there except for a few people having drinks in their swim suits. The only waiter was the bartender who had served us drinks a couple of hours ago. No napkins or silverware was on the table. We asked if this was a restaurant, and the waiter said that it was. We placed our order. It arrived in a while, brought to us by the guy doing the grilling. Still no silverware and napkins, so we asked for them. Then we had to ask for salt and pepper. Finally, we asked for butter for our baked potatos. The waiter left and came back and said that there was no butter. I asked if this was a restaurant and he said "no." We have had a few bad experiences dining at Royal Resorts, but this was the worst ever. It was an embarrassment. We were the only customers while we were there. Here is what I cannot understand. Royal Resorts has been in business for 50 years, Holiday Inn probably far longer than that. In all that time, why can't anyone figure out how to run a restaurant at the resorts with good atmosphere, good service, good food and something that exceeded expectations rather than disappointed? As an owner, we are disgusted with the food scene at our resorts. It once was very good, not spectacular. It has continuously declined since the early years, and the only people who eat there are the all inclusive people because they have to. Please hire someone who can make our restaurants desirable again.
Friendly vibe. Excellent staff including restuarant staff and Cristobal at tour desk.
Some lighting problem. Quickly fixed but recurred next evening. Nothing to ruin our stay.
