The room type and location was amazing! The staff was great as well !
It had a very bad sewage smell in the room plus some of the property and all the restaurants and swim up bars weren’t open or closed very early .
Excelente complejo
I liked the area of the property and the views of the ocean. The room has a magnificent layout. Staff was amazing, helping, and friendly.
Food was bland, all drinks were watered down not just alcoholic ones, no activites through out our stay. They had it posted on the activity list on the web page, but never was anything going on. 200 dollar credit was not recognized at check out. There were no instructions on how to use items in the room or a map of the resorts layout. We had to call the front desk every time we wanted to operate or do something. I didn't want to keep bothering them, but we had to. Very exhausting, no food served after 8 pm, so you will be hungry until the next day if you don't eat before. We will not be returning.
The staff was amazing! Beautiful views, beautiful rooms. 10/10
The variety of restaurants and food
The night music
The advertised amenities were not available. Premium Xhale was money wasted. The all Inclusive cuisines for food was crazy when they served burgers and fries everyday for lunch. I came for differentiated food associated with the culture. 24 hrs room service is not true. Room amenities don't work like the TV for vanity room service and the tablet malfunctions. For 8 days we had 1 show. Premium alcohol wasn't true, rooftop for xhale is not worth it go to the 1 out of 3 swim up bars they had open.
My room! 10/10!!
Some of the food.
The beach is super clean and shallow
Staff was very nice. Amenities/Room were clean, for the most part.
Mini fridge was not stocked/ stocked daily despite requests. We had like 3 cans of soda in there and no beer, as it should’ve been included w/ our room - considering we had master suite. Halls outside room were very humid and smelled like cats, for some reason. Food options closed earlier than mentioned or were not open at all, such as 24/hr room service,!leaving us to starve until the next day. Only complaint is regarding the app to book events at the resort. I believe it is defective as it automatically selects an event, without your input. It booked a sip and paint/bali bed without my confirmation, and the rep at the resort said that I could not take it off but somehow was able to take off sip and paint event. Would’ve been less forgiving if I wasn’t just trying to have a problem free vacation
The breakfast was always good. The staff in all places were excellent, all but one who worked at the wink. The pools were very clean and the beds were comfy. The spa was amazing, best massage I have had!! The food was always fresh only downside it was limited due to construction.
The alcoholic drinks were not good, that was very disappointing. The worst experience we had was at the wink cafe. This is an all inclusive resort, when my daughter asked for 4 bottles of water the person working there said he can only give one bottle per person. She had to tell him that all 4 of us were there to be given the bottles. Then they have these baby little cups for ice cream, they give you a very small scoop to begin with and when asked for another one, the same person said they can only give you one serving. Yes, I called the front desk and all he said was that this is their policy and if I wanted to I needed to go downstairs to make a complaint. We have never experienced anything like that in any other all inclusive resort. The last and more important disappointment was their advertised nightlife. We went there on a girls trip so we were looking to do some dancing, that just didn't happen. They seemed to play the same music every night. Nothing that made us feel we were in mexico. Maybe have a night where you play some different music so everyone finds what they enjoy.
Everything about our stay was awesome. Our restaurant waiter Ricardo awesome. Our waiter poolside Alfredo awesome. Our Housekeeper super awesome Ivethe. Renee in the concierge dept awesome. I hate to hear this property is closing.
The beach had tons of seaweed.
Room was great and.customer service was outstanding.
It really did not feel or seem like all inclusive. They was charging $70 per person to eat at hibachi. Every all inclusive resort I stayed at it was free. Dance floor at after dark was slippery saw several people fall and I almost fell. Just about everything closed between 8 and 9. It felt more like a kids or older adults resort. After dark stayed open for one hour for some reason. Then found out it is closing down. Definitely feel like i was overcharged.
The staff was very friendly. It was very clean
I received confirmation for spa treatment and poolside bed but no one followed up with me on the day of my reservation. I had to ask around for information but got no answers. Also the beach was not private beach
Nice design
Food , wasn’t much entertainment, the beach location .
Top
Great location Food okay
Food not great
Rooms where nice
Construction going on, not all restaurants were open. Paid for xhale perks but nothing was different
Staff was friendly. Restaurants and drinks were quality controlled and well handled
Some amenities closed too early at night. The nightlife setup was extremely basic.
Is was clean
It didn’t really feel like a true all-inclusive resort. A lot of the things you would normally expect to be included or readily available either weren’t available or weren’t even open during our stay. It was disappointing to pay for an all-inclusive experience but still feel limited in what we could actually enjoy. There were several times when we wanted to eat, grab a drink, or enjoy certain amenities, only to find out they were closed or unavailable. Overall, the experience just didn’t give us that convenient, worry-free all-inclusive feeling that we expected when booking the resort.
The rooms and location.
The check in and luggage drop off was not the smoothest.
Property is ok but what make the property good is the excellent staff no question the best all around peoples taking care of the facilities.
None
Tutto, favoloso.
The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, good quality food. The access to the beach was great, and could get a cabana every day with staff regularly checking to offer drinks. The room was nice and of high quality, clean throughout. Location was great, easy for pickups to excursions. There were three restaurants to choose from during our time there with plenty of variety for the dishes, and they were of acceptable/good quality. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout with a high quality of service provided across all the restaurants.
We were not informed that there would be construction going on throughout prior to our arrival. There was drilling occurring one night from 0130 to 0330 in the morning which kept us awake. There was also drilling, angle grinders etc. during the day in the vicinity of the bar and pool. There were some broken machines in the gym. There was an offer of 200$USD vouchers to use in the hotel, but there were significant restrictions on when and how they could be used which resulted in them not being particularly inviting to use. The ATM charged extortionate fees to withdraw cash.
Absolutely amazing hotel, we loved everything. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The evening meals were top class, different restaurants each evening. Choice of menus and absolutely delicious, in wonderful surroundings. Buffet breakfast and lunch had so much choice and lots of healthy options. The drinks were delicious and easy to get either from the bar or the attentive waiters. The pools were great, plenty of beds and good quality towels. Our bedroom was gorgeous, on the 23rd floor with a view of the beach and lagoon. The 'wow' lighting was really unique. The evening entertainment was varied and it was actually entertaining! I can't recommend it enough
Nothing
Clean room and space. A lot of food options and food was good. A lot of different pools. Walking distance to some shops and there is a running/ walking path right out front.
Long line to check in. Waited almost 35 mins. Then had to get back in line again as I arrived early.
everything
Everything! Staff were incredible!!
The views and pools are amazing
The food was ok I understand they are cooking for a lot of people. I've stayed at small resorts that had better food.
Great
The way the room got damp all the time
- buenas habitaciones - comida bastante bien
A Perfect Place to Relax and Recharge If you’re looking for an adults-only resort where you can truly relax and enjoy some peaceful time away from all the noise and stress, this is a great choice. The resort was very clean, with excellent food quality and great service. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. The gym was also very good. There are several excellent restaurants offering fresh, high-quality ingredients, as well as different pools and bars to enjoy. The evening parties were a nice touch and added to the overall experience. The views from the hotel were beautiful, and the whole atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing getaway. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this resort!
Limpieza. Comida. La habitación espectacular
Comida podría ser más variada
I really enjoyed my stay at the resort. The views were beautiful, especially being able to watch both the sunrise and sunset. The restaurants were also really good, with the steakhouse and sushi restaurant being my favorites. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. I also really appreciated how clean everything was, and my room was cleaned every day
Unfortunately, there were several issues with the room that were disappointing. The holes in the shower were rusted, and rust would run into the water. We also paid an additional $300 to upgrade to a room with a jacuzzi, but when we turned on the jets, dirt and hair came out, which was very unpleasant and made the jacuzzi unusable. The shower also leaked through the seals, causing water to get all over the bathroom floor. We had to use towels to keep the water from spreading throughout the room. On top of that, the mini fridge was not restocked daily as we were told it would be. For the amount we paid for the upgrade, I expected the room and jacuzzi to be much cleaner and better maintained. These issues definitely took away from an otherwise enjoyable stay.
Nice rooms, good spa
Rude and lazy staff at check in.
Nice view. Potential to be nice
Property was under construction and we were not told that at booking. Several restaurants were closed . Pool was nasty. Some bar stuff ere hatful and acted put out. Night life for an adult resort was terrible. Fire pits turn off at 7. Club closed at 12. Lobby bar was closed . There’s no where to get a drink after midnight. I waited 3 hours on room service one night after I’ called twice to figure out what was going on.
The place was clean, facilities great, entertainment staff exceptional, food first class. Plenty of entertainment every night. Near to the Isla Mujeres ferry.
Lots of construction closing different areas each day, eg the lobby bar, part of the poolside, with works being done.
Amazing property, so beautiful in every way. The staff was incredible. Everyone so nice and at tentative. The food could have been better. But the ambience was so nice. It really won the show.
The food could have been better. The buffet was always really nice.
Pools were beautiful. The specialty restaurants were good.
Buffet was very mediocre. The beach was not relaxing as it was open to the public and view was obscured from the hotel.
Money stolen by resort
Beware hotel is changing owners in October conditions are not as expected Rationed food and amenities Entertainment not as expected Outdoor common area waiting long periods of techno music ( no one dancing) for performance that lasted 20 minutes PS they continued to ask for us to sit for 90 vacation club presentation then were looking for big $$$ to join!
Avoid This Resort: A Disappointing, Overpriced Experience July 2026 - We recently stayed at Breathless Soul Cancun, and it was a massive disappointment. What is advertised as a luxury, high-energy getaway felt more like a aggressive timeshare presentation hub where you are constantly nagged to buy into their club. The service was completely lacking. We called room service on three different nights, and not a single person ever came to our room. Room cleaning was equally reluctant; it felt like a chore just to get basic housekeeping done. We paid extra for the Master Ocean Front Suite xHale Club, and it was an absolute waste of money. There is nothing exclusive or VIP about it. To make matters worse, everything at this resort is an upcharge, yet they cannot even manage the basics. The bars frequently lacked the standard ingredients required to make traditional beverages, and the pool bar staff were visibly irritated by patrons just trying to order a drink. The food across the property is mediocre at best, lacking any real flavor or quality. Save your money and book somewhere else that actually values its guests and delivers on its promises.
I visited this resort as a traveling group fitness instructor, and brought my daughter with me. We had a great week! The dinners were wonderful! Ricardo at Spumante was an exceptional server. The beach was beautiful, and the water was perfect! The stars of the show, though, were the members of the E-Team. Alex, Emir, Pablo, Ferran, Faskano, Nabye, & Ximena (Ferran told me all of the name spellings, so if they are not correct.....) are all so sweet, funny, and kind. They made our week enjoyable! Do the activities, they make them fun!!!
Gawd Gotdamn Awful. What a waste. Here right now…..drinks are extremely watered down and all the bars closed at 11pm- even if you have vip status. Food options 👎🏾. Tilapia as your only dish option 👎🏾Entertainment horrible. No food options. It’s 11pm and nothing to do. All these grown people are going TO BED AT 11pm. NOTHING TO DRINK. NOTJING TO DO AT in an ADULT ONLY RESORT. I am so angry that tomorrow I am requesting a refund and going to another resort. Do NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. I came to relax and enjoy my time away from the stresses of life and I’m staying at a red roof inn👎🏾 You work too hard for substandard accommodations
I traveled alone here and it was one of the best times of my life. I honestly would travel here again in a heart beat. Great staff, wonderful views, and delicious food! 10/10
The cleanliness and coffee shop. Club played same music.
Food options repetitive everyday. After 6pm, only the restaurants were options. Check in process too long!!!!!
Very clean beautiful property, staff was attentive, the location of the property
We learned that the property was going to be sold and that was a direct correlation of our experience there. I would suggest to wait until the property is sold before you book we booked the VIP experience and no one told us about the amenities that Specifically were for us. Check-in was an absolute mess as the VIP members. There was a certain area that we were supposed to be in while we waited three hours to be checked in that no one told us about. The communication there was subpar. We ate at silk city restaurant and our lobster was overcooked. The rice was overcooked and or old. Our drinks were watered down. We did not have a good experience at that particular restaurant. We enjoyed our time there due to the activities that we scheduled outside of the resort had we had clear communication of the things that we actually paid for and had access to I do feel as if my time there would have been elevated and better. This is not a resort for singles to meet. It is very much for couples and or girls trips, which serve the purpose of what we came for the resort everything closes at 10 PM so just be mindful of that as well. Be careful of the balcony doors opening and the entire room perspiring, including the marble floors very dangerous. I am really big on communication and I feel like the overall experience could have been 10 times better had there been communication on everything that was available to us things that were going on the resort it just wasn’t there so I cannot ethically rate this a great experience
The overall layout of the resort was good; it matched the photos.
A lot of miscommunication about hotel stay expectations, their VIP services are disguised as a "breakfast or massage gift" after sitting through a 90 minutes sales presentation at another property, in which it should be communicated more clearly, and not done once you first arrive to check-in, it takes away from the the stay when you're being whisked away to another property to be hard sold on joining a membership. Being an Exhale member, I didn't exactly feel like there was any real change in status from the other tiers except access to the other rooftop, but there were no food/snacks on that Exhale rooftop, so we'd have to leave that one and go back to the other just to eat. Some of the bar/restaurant staff weren't nice when asked for things; tableside manner did not meet our expectations. Also, room service took over 1+ hour to receive cold food on different occasions; one day the app was down, and we had to call, and there was no answer. Food was decent, often cold and lacking flavor. I saw a lot of good feedback online about this resort, but quite surprised when my experience was the direct opposite.
The only thing I liked about the property was the food options. There were plenty of restaurants to choose from.
What I didn’t like about the property are a few things: I upgraded my stay to one of the top tier rooms with exclusive access to certain amenities on the property. When we arrived, there was no one there to greet us, we had to wait. You don’t know when your guests are to arrive? Strike one. The 2nd thing was when we were checking in. There were no separate area for guests who had upgrades. I know we weren’t VIP, that’s for timeshare guests. But we should’ve had a better experience with that. We waited almost 35mins. Lastly, with the upgrades, we got a note slide under our door on our 2nd night there saying we got invited to a breakfast with our concierge or something. We go down that morning and he sets us up with someone else after giving us free massages to eat breakfast with someone that was going to go over more free things with the resort. We get there, eat and she’s asking us questions about how often we travel a year, our family size etc. Then we got hit with how would you like to talk to my partner because I think you will love what we have to offer. Mind you we had excursions booked for the day and didn’t plan for this extra stuff. They wasted our whole day and didn’t want to compensate for what we had planned. Just sadly to say, we won’t be back at this property. Just wasn’t what I was expecting and for what we paid. (We never got our free massages because they were “booked” btw) There won’t be a next time to swindle us again. We won’t be back.
I've now been to 3 Breathless resorts. Do they compare to Secrets, in some ways but it's just a different Vibe and Experience. I was worried about some reviews, but I thought this Breathless was just as good as Riviera Cancun and Punta Cana. It all depends on how memorable you want to make your trip and if you look for the negative over the positive. The six of us were determined to make our own party and memories regardless, so we went in with positive attitudes. We had great interactions with all the staff but wanted to highlight a few: Crystal helped us check in when we arrived Wednesday morning and was energetic and welcoming. Esteban and Dinorah were wonderful helping my bridesmaids book a Cabana on Saturday and helped me surprise them with the wine cellar on our last evening together. David and Irwin on the pool deck kept the party going all afternoon. Martin guided us through the Hydrotherapy at the Spa. Carlos and Ivan on the roof top pool made great drinks. Christian and all the servers and staff took great care of us at Spumante. Eduardo was willing to get us every dish and request we had in the wine cellar which enhanced our experience. Alex and the entertainment team do a great job with activities during the day. The food we thought was comparable to the other UVC resorts we had been to. The breakfast buffet had a fresh Chilaquiles bar, plantains (one of my favorite while on vacation) and the French toast was good with home style potatoes. For dinner the French was our favorite (the chicken delicious and the white fish special was amazing) followed by the Italian then Asian. We were sad that the Xhale private breakfast was not available as advertised, but the Xhale Club was modern and open with a beautiful view of the ocean. Many don't have a view like that. Yes, some alcohol could be higher quality, but are you not going to drink because of that? Their whiskey and bourbon selection was pretty good. I just wish they had Don Julio because that's what I drink all day! Overall we had a wonderful time relaxing by the rooftop pool in the morning and then making our way down to the party pool (middle pool) in the afternoon. We even played Bingo our first afternoon down at the bottom pool. The shows were shorter and not as elaborate as other resorts but we enjoyed the fire performers, the amazing drag show in the Club, the robot on stilts for the Rave to take pictures with and the Silent Disco. I'm sure I'm forgetting something else, but we all agreed we would return. Even to just chill on the roof top or at the beach/bottom pool if you don't want the party vibe for a day or two. Some people definitely needed to go to Temptations as that seemed more their style (no judgement), but we liked the variety of pools, so you could make your trip whatever you wanted it to be. To all the amazing people we met the past week, thank you for enhancing our vacation. You were all lovely and it was refreshing to be around so many people complementing one another and having a great time!
Beautiful place, friendly staff. Exceeded our expectations . The sand bar was clear of seaweed and amazing views the spa was amazing and relaxing! We enjoyed all of it. The jacuzzi suite room was a must have
Nice friendly staff, great location and nice property.
Location was amazing
The staff, service and food was lass than desirable
It was very nice, accommodating, peaceful, and the food was amazing. The service was some of the best I’ve ever had.
I have no complaints.
This is a great hotel and resort, but it does not feel like a traditional Mexican resort. It could easily be located almost anywhere in the world. The beach is actually a shallow bay, with zero ocean sound and water that was generally no more than about three feet deep. It is also a very public beach that is frequently used by local residents, so the resort beach does not feel like a true adults-only environment. Most of the bartenders were also very conservative with their pours. On the positive side, the rooms were very clean, well maintained, and in excellent condition.
Beautiful property! Our xhale room was beautiful!
I wish there was more to do throughout the day and a variety of things to do at night.
Food and location
Paid for ocean view and got a bad view of ocean
⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ (4/5) Overall We recently stayed at Breathless Cancun Soul Resort & Spa and had a fantastic vacation. Overall, we would definitely recommend it and would happily return. With a few improvements—particularly in entertainment, nightlife, and guest experience practices—it could easily reach a full 5-star experience. Rooms The resort is beautiful, modern, spotless, and very well maintained. Our room was simply WOW! It was spacious, had huge closets, and we were lucky enough to have an ocean-view room. Waking up to that view every morning was unforgettable. We also loved the LED lights in the room that change colors at night—they added a fun, modern touch. The resort app is one of the best I’ve ever used. You can easily contact housekeeping or the concierge, check restaurant hours, browse the daily activity schedule, and find everything you need right from your phone. It made the entire stay feel seamless and convenient. Food The food was consistently very good. I liked that the buffet transforms into the Mexican restaurant at night instead of remaining a buffet—it made the dining experience feel more elevated. There are no reservations needed for the à la carte restaurants, which is a huge plus. If you arrive early, you’ll usually be seated immediately. If there’s a wait, you’re given a pager so you can relax with a drink at one of the bars instead of standing in line. Silk, the rooftop Asian restaurant… WOW! The food was delicious, but the view was absolutely breathtaking. It was easily one of the highlights of our trip. We also had the romantic rooftop dinner experience, and it was truly unforgettable. We were completely alone on the rooftop, which made it feel incredibly special and intimate. The waiter was amazing and the service was impeccable. The food was great and the view was stunning. That said, at $250 USD it felt quite expensive—especially for Canadians—but the $40 hotel coupon helped make it more worthwhile. The coffee shop deserves a huge shout-out. It was incredible! They offered a wide variety of hot and frozen specialty coffees, and I especially looked forward to the daily featured drink. Fresh croissants every morning, pastries, desserts, fresh fruit, and delicious ice cream made it one of our favorite spots in the resort. Location The location is another big plus. Although the resort is in a quieter area, there’s a local bus stop right in front of the hotel. For just a few dollars, you can reach Cancun’s Hotel Zone entertainment in about 10 minutes, including places like Coco Bongo Cancún and Señor Frog’s Cancún. It made getting around incredibly easy without needing taxis. One thing worth mentioning is that while the resort is adults-only, the beach itself is public, as is the case throughout most of Mexico. You may see families with children walking along or enjoying the beach. This wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s helpful to know if you’re expecting a fully adults-only beach experience. Entertainment Where the resort fell a bit short for us was the entertainment. We expected more of a vibrant, energetic atmosphere—especially considering the Breathless brand—but it never quite reached that level. The rooftop pool played hard hip-hop almost all day, every day, with very little variety. While I enjoy hip-hop, the music often felt too aggressive and explicit for what is otherwise a classy, upscale resort. A more balanced mix—such as lounge music, tropical house, chill electronic, or local Mexican music—would have created a more enjoyable and inclusive vibe. The entertainment schedule also felt limited and repetitive. There were few organized activities, minimal poolside engagement, and most events repeated daily. The nighttime shows during the week were just okay, with noticeably better performances only on Friday and Saturday. Additionally, the shows take place by the pool and snack bar area, which closes at 4:00 p.m., making the setup feel less polished than expected. Nightlife was another area that could use improvement. One evening, we met some great people and wanted to continue socializing, but by 10:00 p.m., all the bars were closed—even the lobby bar. We were told to return to our rooms and order room service, which didn’t feel like a great option in that situation. The disco was also closed that night. When it was open, it was small and charming, but the sound system lacked depth—no subwoofers and overly high-pitched audio—which took away from the experience. The pool bar situation was also disappointing. The rooftop pool bar closed at 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, just when the atmosphere was still lively, and the lower pool bar remained closed throughout our entire stay. Longer hours and more consistent bar service would significantly enhance the overall experience. Staff A few special shout-outs to staff who made our stay memorable: * Cassandra – thank you for your wonderful service! * Kevin at Silk – fantastic service. * Karla at the coffee shop – always friendly and welcoming. * Barilla at the rooftop bar, and another bartender whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch (my homie—you know who you are!). * The bartenders at the nighttime lobby bar were also excellent and always made us feel welcome. Important Note One thing we strongly recommend being cautious about is being invited to visit a “sister resort” or attend what is presented as a casual tour or presentation. These invitations are often tied to aggressive sales pitches for vacation memberships. While they may be framed as an opportunity to explore another property or receive perks, the reality is that they are primarily focused on selling high-cost, long-term commitments that may not be clearly explained upfront. We felt this detracted from the otherwise relaxing experience, and it was surprising to see this happening at such a high-quality resort. Our advice is to politely decline these offers and enjoy your vacation without interruption. Overall Breathless Cancun Soul offers beautiful accommodations, excellent food, an outstanding coffee shop, wonderful staff, and a prime location. With more variety in entertainment, a better music selection at the rooftop pool, improved nightlife options, extended pool bar hours, and a more guest-focused approach to sales interactions, it could easily become a true 5-star destination. We had a wonderful vacation and would definitely consider returning.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The rooms were very nice and although I did not like my first two room offers because proximity to noise, they moved me without question to a third and quieter room. Room cleaning service was excellent and the staff in general was very friendly and very helpful. The people themselves were great. I did not have the exhale package, But I did end up sliding into the pool once to check it out and it was very nice and quiet as promised. The other pools were good. The rooftop pool was definitely the best of the three options in terms of vibes and the biggest pool was rather boring not very much fun although pretty. The beach was fine and the water was warm, but it was filled with lots of locals. For me that was fine, but since it was an adult only experience, it was a little jarring to have lots of children running around the beach, calling for their parents. Not exactly the adult relaxed experience I expected on the beach. The food was very hit or miss. Two of the restaurants in particular were excellent. The French restaurant and the Italian restaurant were both amazing and the food was top-of-the-line. Excellent. The fish restaurant was mediocre at best and the Middle Eastern restaurant was closed the entire time I was there. The Mexican restaurant was also pretty average and I had some soup that I had to send back because it tasted like water. I never tried the Japanese restaurant, but I heard good things. The buffet at Spoons was the most disappointing and unfortunately, the only restaurant available for breakfast or lunch on any day. The food was the same every single day, boring and bland and very average. I would say the buffet was the worst experience of the trip in a lot of ways. In terms of nightlife, I would say there's very little. The club itself, after dark, was loud and small, and as a solo traveler, I found it to be very unfriendly. I tried best to socialize and dance, but as a 57-year-old man I just did not feel like I fit in at all. The evening shows were fine, there was an amazing fire show, which I really loved, and some of the singers were also good. But in general, I was underwhelmed with the evening programming. The drinks were fine, the bar service was good and again the hotel staff was very very friendly. Unfortunately, I got sick for my last two days and so I had to spend them in my hotel room, which wasn't too bad because it was a nice place. Having Bluetooth speakers throughout the room was a very nice touch. So, overall I would say I had a pretty good experience not the best, not the worst, but I'm not quite sure it was worth the money.
Dear Hyatt Guest Relations, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at Breathless Hyatt Cancun. Unfortunately, my experience fell far below the luxury standards I have come to expect from the Hyatt brand. Throughout my stay, I repeatedly attempted to order room service, calling for 30 minutes or more each day without ever receiving an answer. I also tried contacting the front desk on multiple occasions, waiting over 40 minutes on hold for assistance with no response. On two separate days, I ultimately had to leave my room and go to the front desk in person just to request basic assistance. This level of customer service is unacceptable for a luxury resort. The food quality was equally disappointing. Breakfast offered very limited options, and many of the basic items were either unavailable or poorly prepared. The turkey sausage resembled pork, had little to no flavor, and the bacon was not even available on the buffet—I had to request it from the omelet station. Additionally, the French toast and pancakes were served cold or at room temperature every morning. The dining experience throughout the resort was consistently subpar. The steak I was served appeared unusually pale, making me question the quality of the meat. At Fish Nets, my salmon was undercooked. Overall, the food quality did not reflect the standards expected from a Hyatt luxury property. The beverage service was equally disappointing. The alcoholic beverages were made with inexpensive liquor, and despite staying with Exhale Club privileges, I was unable to find premium or top-shelf liquor at any of the bars. The juices were noticeably watered down, resulting in cocktails that lacked flavor and quality. I paid a premium price expecting a luxury resort experience, yet I received poor customer service, low-quality food, and disappointing beverage offerings. This was one of the most unsatisfactory resort experiences I have had, and I travel extensively around the world. I would appreciate the opportunity to discuss this matter directly with a member of management. I am requesting appropriate compensation in the form of a refund or a hotel credit toward another Hyatt property that delivers the level of service and quality associated with the Hyatt brand. I was genuinely excited to stay at Breathless Hyatt Cancun. As a content creator, I had planned to document and share my experience, including the resort, dining, and overall service. Regrettably, my experience does not reflect positively on the property, and I cannot provide the favorable review I had hoped to share. Please contact me directly via email to arrange a phone call and discuss the next steps regarding my request for a refund or hotel credit. Email: poshpincdesigns@gmail.com I look forward to your prompt response and a satisfactory resolution. Sincerely, J. P.
Our room was very nice but that was about it.
The service and wait times, the good and beverage quality, the advertisement of XHALE club benefits not actually being what they were. The hotel bars understaffed to handle the crowds.
The staff was so so so nice
The water had a particular smell ( bathroom , sink ) maybe because of the condition of the water in the country . Besides that , We didn’t really beneficiate of our 200$ x2 usd from our reservation , the options were very limited
Absolutely loved it, I loved everything about it the rooms, the food, the staff, the location, the beach etc everything was great
I truly can’t say, maybe the facts that all the restaurants weren’t open every night and that the bars close at a certain time (kind of early)
We booked our trip 8 months ago before they sold out - we upgraded to Exhale Club and did not receive the "Exhale" experience that everyone previously raved about! This was a girls trip - we made the best of it - food was MID - room service to get a bottle of water - terrible we had to walk downstairs each time they did not restock it daily as sold in the "exhale" package!
The food was good.
Customer service was not good. Drinks were not good. There wasn’t very much to do. Ur don’t feel like a luxury getaway. The room upgrade was laughable.
The views were great
The food. Some of the staffs were amazing but I’ve experienced way better hospitality. The hotel could have been cleaner. Also got charger an extra $1500 at the property simply because I didn’t put 2 adults. I think that was such a ripoff as the hotel room I selected was a king size and even if the requirement was meant to be 2 people I don’t think I should have been charged triple of the price. Honestly that took a way from the excitement of my birthday.
The location was great, atmosphere was good. Room was neat and clean, but bed was not comfortable at all. A good vibe for a couple celebrating an anniversary.
My husband surprised me with a six-night trip to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. I had recently started a new job, so I honestly wavered about taking six days away so soon. But this was an incredible milestone, and knowing that my husband had planned this special surprise for us made me decide to take the time and fully embrace the experience. We spent a lot of time deciding between a romantic, relaxing resort and one with a more energetic, social atmosphere. Ultimately, we chose this property because of how it was marketed: lively, high-energy, entertaining, and fun. Unfortunately, that was not the experience we had. The resort simply did not have the energetic atmosphere we expected. The entertainment was limited and did not reflect what had been marketed. There were times when very little seemed to be happening, which was especially disappointing because the lively atmosphere was one of the primary reasons we chose this resort over other properties. The food experience was also disappointing. The breakfast and lunch buffets offered very little variety, and restaurant closures further limited the dining options. When you are staying at an all-inclusive resort for six nights, limited food choices and closed restaurants significantly affect the overall experience. I do want to be fair and very clear about one thing: the staff appeared to be trying. Our disappointment was not because the employees did not care. In many instances, it seemed they were doing the best they could, but the resort appeared to be seriously understaffed. You could feel the impact of that throughout the property, from service to dining to the overall energy and execution of the resort experience. What makes this especially difficult is that this was not just another vacation. It was our 20th wedding anniversary, and my husband had surprised me by planning this trip for us. I had hesitated to take six days away from a new job, but I did because this milestone mattered and because I wanted to fully appreciate what he had planned. I truly wish the experience had matched what we believed we were choosing. Had the resort been represented more accurately, we likely would have selected a different property. This resort may work for someone looking for a quieter getaway that does not offer many options, but that was not what we were looking for or what we believed was being marketed to us. We specifically chose this property for the energetic atmosphere, entertainment, dining choices, and overall experience we expected, and unfortunately, the reality did not match. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously. The staff needs more support, and guests deserve an experience that reflects what is being advertised, especially when they are trusting a property with a once-in-a-lifetime milestone like a 20th wedding anniversary.
I had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Breathless Cancun Soul Resort for my 25th high school reunion trip. This was a planned trip organized with the resort. Although the organizers also had serious issues with the resort, I will focus on my personal horrible experience. Upon arrival, the check in process was absolutely horrible and unorganized. I waited in line for an hour while two people checked in guests. Also, because this was a planned event with the resort, my group was supposed to have express check in at a separately designated area, which was not provided. The food was mostly disgusting and inedible at most of the restaurants onsite. Also, the staff was rude and unwelcoming. This included the service at the restaurants on site. The resort also pulled a bait and switch with the bottle of tequila that was supposed to come with the stay. When booking, there was a bottle of tequila included. During check in, we were told that that was not something we were entitled to. Once we pulled up the reservation confirmation, they conceded and gave us the coupon. We were initially told that we would go to the bar to obtain the bottle. When we went to the bar, we were told to go the restaurant. When we went to the restaurant, we were told we could only obtain the bottle if we were eating there which was not included on the coupon. When we finally tried to redeem at the restaurant we were eating at, we were told we could not get tequila but had to get the house wine. Others were told that they could only get house champagne. This run around appeared to be an intentional resort wide ploy to prevent guests obtaining what was paid for in the reservation. The most egregious encounter we had was while dining at Fish Nets. We were a party of 7 and 6 of us were seated. Our 7th attempted to join us and the manager who said his name was Jonathan, however I do not believe that was true, stated that she could not join us because that would be unfair to those waiting to be seated. We had not ordered, there was a place setting for her at our table, and she was included in the reservation. As I stated, this was a reunion trip and two others who were on the trip were being seated at a 4 top. We asked that she be able to join them and she was also denied. They then gave her a pager and she was forced to wait. When the party of two were finished, she was sat at their table. She could have been seated there in the first place. This was outrageous!!! The service and my overall experience at the Breathless Cancun Soul resort was horrible. I will never stay there again or with any other Breathless Property. This also makes me question the entire Hyatt brand if this is the type of property they are willing to put their name on.
Everything is amazing! The restaurants, bars, and bedrooms are all excellent. The rooms are beautiful, and the overall experience was fantastic. The only suggestion I have is to improve the variety and quality of the drinks. Other than that, everything was outstanding.
Location and bed rooms
Clean and well maintained.
We went for a girl's trip. It is in a transition of ownership from Hyatt to Hilton and I think they've cut some costs during this transition. So the bad first- It's like pulling teeth to get the advertised top shelf liquor, the pool bar closes at 5pm, you can't eat food at your pool chair (wtf?, we're not children), there's no DJ or any energy at the rooftop pool- just music playing. No rose wine included in "all-inclusive". The vibe was way more chill than to what we heard it used to be. The $200 resort credit was a joke- you can only use $100 per person and the 50 min. massage is marked up to $189! Or you can get $10 off an over priced bottle of wine. The restaurants rotate each night and there's food on the menu you can't have at an "all-inclusive", you have to pay extra to get it! The vibe at the main pool was soooo quiet and almost no one was there. The buffet was good, but it closes at 4pm! No dinner buffet. The evening entertainment was ok, but they need more seating. One lady bartender in the nightclub was EXTREMELY RUDE and literally threw a drink! The minibar in the room is a joke- we had soda, water and 1 beer- hahahaha! Also, they will not bring any alcohol to your room after 11pm- so stock up! We all did a spa - the hydrotherapy pool is completely covered and the water was cold and the showers in the spa were cold, the worker giggled and nodded when I said there's no hot water. Ok the good- we felt safe, good security, the staff was helpful and friendly most of the time, the coffee bar was AMAZING!!!! The food overall was ok. The rooms were clean and nice, the balcony was nice, great views. Location was good- we took short Uber rides (safe) to downtown clubs and restaurants. The beach was nice, they have chairs/ umbrellas. It did have a bit of seaweed which they tried to clean up each morning. We did yoga by the rooftop pool, that was lovely as well.
The entertainment was not as advertised. Each nightly event didn't have a description or connection to it's title. Example NEON night was just a DJ playing with the word "NEON" displayed on the DJ booth. There was 1 tall neon dancer and his costume of lights kept going out. At the Breathless in Punta Cana we stayed at previously, there were 4 or 5 neon dancers. "When in Rome" night was fire dancers, which didn't connect with the theme very well. Nightly entertainment was adveretised to begin at 7:30 and end at 10:00. One evening, there was a DJ playing music from 7:30-9:30, before the main performance started and it only lasted about 20 minutes. We expected to have more exciting entertainment on Friday and Saturday of our week stay, but that didn't happen, there was again music playing until the main performance that didn't last very long. The night's entertainment promptly ended at 10pm on a Saturday. The afternoon entertainment also lacked. The Xcelerate rooftop pool only had a DJ for two afternoons out of the 6 days we stayed. Again, at another Breathless location we stayed at previously, they had a DJ at the pool everyday. They also had foam parties and the Breathless Cancun Soul did not, even though it is advertised on the website. The swim up bar at the Xcelerate pool was serverly understaffed for the amount of people that were in the pool. There was only 1 bartender for the Xcelerate pool swim up bar and he could not keep up with the demand even though he was clearly working really hard to. At the Energy pool on the ground level the swim up bar wasn't open for the entire length of our stay. People had to go to "The Bar" to get drinks or wait an unreasonably long time for a server to bring drinks. Which was again only 1 server for the whole pool. The daily activities that were advertised also didn't happen. Daily activities such as "Bingo", "Trivia", and "Dance lessons" didn't take place. When we tried going to Bingo, Breathless staff was not there to start the activity. When we asked concierge about it, they did offer to start Bingo and they did have the activity going the next day, with several guests playing. Serving staff was amazing. they were friendly and accommodating. The beach was also pristine with little to no seaweed in the swimming area. Food and drinks were okay. The breakfast buffet had many options and the restaurants had a good menu variety. The hotel is clean and updated. We stayed in the ocean front room and it was worth the upgrade. The views are incredible and the Xhale Club rooftop pool is a specatular place to spend the day and have lunch with beautiful views all around.
Don't waste your time going to this resort. I chose this resort with my bachelorette group in hopes it would be a fun, party resort. It was not. DJ played elevator music at the pool and shut down at 4pm on a Saturday. It's severely short staffed and the workers are overworked. All bars shut down by 10pm with the exception of the tiny club onsite. Room service does not include bottled water so you have to call concierge in hopes they will bring water to your room. Sometimes it was delivered an hour after calling and other times it was never delivered. Very concerning with how hot the temperatures are and taking into consideration alcohol consumption. Overall service is very poor because the resort was bought by Hyatt. Restaurants were good but very long wait times for groups and there were no options to make reservations.

Overall experience was very lovely at the resort, HOWEVER, BEWARE of someone trying to “sell you” on coupons at the very beginning. Some lady had us for 30 mins, saying they were part of our package (not true). She booked us for stuff, saying we’d only pay X amount after the coupons. Fast fwd, the next morning they wake us up at 8am with a call asking us to come for the presentation. She mentioned nothing about that initially, so we clearly understood at that point what this would turn into. We were only there 4 days so didn’t want to spend all this time being sold on something. We declined and asked her to cancel everything. Fast fwd to check out, they tried charging us $140 for hibachi as a no show, even after we repeatedly explained what happened. It was all so bizarre and unbelievable the fight they put up upon checking out. We were there 30 minutes and almost missed our pre booked ride to the airport. As long as you steer clear of these extra “packages” and promises made to you at the beginning, you should be fine, however, that really ruined the experience for us.
We celebrated my husband‘s birthday and we had a wonderful time. Everything‘s amazing! All of the staff was very tentative to your needs very polite. Very clean and well maintained resort with beautiful sculptures and artwork.

Okay resort, but if you’re coming in the next few months or planning to would change resorts simply for the fact that it got bought out and many services are shutting down/not available. Good: Rooms. Beautiful and modern. Rooftop pool. Food was decent but hit and miss also. Centrally located Bad: Entertainment. Much of it didn’t happen and almost always late. WiFi spotty, app doesn’t work most of the time to see activities and restaurants, beach beautiful but shallow and tons of locals that make it super crowded on weekends. Service wasn’t terrible but not great.
We Loved it here! We will definitely be returning soon. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this resort to a friend.
Cleanliness. The staff was amazing. The resort was fun!

Lots of work to do with customer service. Very disappointing. Resort is beautiful and the rooms are also but it was ruined by the customer service.
We stayed at Breathless Soul Cancun for 4 nights for a bachelorette trip. I’ve been to quite a few all-inclusive resorts over the years and unfortunately, this one ended up being pretty low on my list. The positives first: the rooms are beautiful, the bathrooms are nice, and the views from the rooms are great. The restaurants are also well designed and have a fun atmosphere. The nightlife and evening entertainment were definitely the highlight of the trip, and several staff members were incredibly kind and actually remembered us from day to day, which we really appreciated. That said, there were quite a few disappointments. The beach was one of the biggest letdowns. It isn’t a private beach - there were families with children, tents and canopies set up everywhere, people grilling, and it just wasn’t the adults-only atmosphere we were expecting. The resort itself is also much smaller than it appears online. It’s basically one main building and two pools, so if you’re looking for a large resort with lots to explore, this probably isn’t it. During the day, there wasn’t much happening. We expected more activities and pool entertainment, but there were long stretches where not much was going on. There was no music playing in the main pool and the pool bar in the main pool wasnt open the entire time we were there. On top of that, all water activities required an additional fee. The food was decent, but the dining options were more limited than we expected. Some restaurants were closed on certain days, one appeared to be closed entirely during our stay, and there was also a period in the afternoon where it was surprisingly difficult to find food between meals. The drinks were another major disappointment. We consistently watched bartenders pour only a tiny splash of liquor into mixed drinks. None of us could even catch a buzz, and we eventually started asking for extra shots of plain liquor just to make the drinks taste like they actually contained alcohol. We also felt like we were being upsold throughout our stay. After declining the vacation club presentation, we felt like we were mostly on our own. No one really explained the resort, and since the app wasn’t working, we spent a lot of time trying to figure things out ourselves. Overall, we still had fun because we were celebrating with a great group of friends, but that had much more to do with the company than the resort itself. If you’ve never been to an all-inclusive, you may really enjoy it. But compared to many other resorts we’ve stayed at, this one just didn’t offer the value or experience we were hoping for.
