Very comfortable ambience. Lovely room, excellent breakfast.
The location was terrific. The facility was beautiful -- the gardens and patio were nice as well. In the morning we were also given a lovely breakfast.
It was expensive... but everything is these days.
Nice room

It felt quite welcoming to stay in a clean, safe, house. Water, tea and coffee were available on the landing. Breakfast was included. The owner was kind and accommodating. The bathroom was very spacious.
The room we were in was a bit awkward given that we had just arrived from Europe with huge suitcases. Although it was only the end of May the room was quite warm. I think there was aircon but it did not seem to be turned on yet. Although one could walk into town, the house is in the suburbs, so it was about a 15/20 minute walk, but, along a busy road. Meaning, is preferable to have a car or use Uber if you stay here.
The Norfolk House is a wonderful place. Janet is a fantastic host, and our stay as a family of 4 in the penthouse suite for 4 nights was perfect. The location is great, an easy walk into town. The room was tasteful, bright, cool, and very comfortable. The balcony was a great place to read and relax. Water stations provide glasses and various items you can borrow for your room. Janet prepares a delicious breakfast each morning, takes the time to get to know you, and provides great information about the area. We'd stay there again in a second. By the time we left it felt like departing from a friend's house which says a lot.
It was perfect, there was really nothing that we didn't like. We'd stay again anytime.
Location is good
Our stay was very relaxing., very quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and presentation excellent. The property was well maintained with nice gardens and guest seating areas. I.will be going bac
Beautiful
The architecture and the way the home owner decorated
Breakfast was not as good as last year. We were not given a choice. I prefer not to eat bacon but it was in the sandwich and difficult to remove.
Breakfast. We showed up at 7:55 for breakfast and to have a cup of tea while waiting to be served. The server seemed annoyed that we were early. I explained that we had to get away rather quickly in order to meet a commitment. We did not expect instant service as I tried to make clear. It was uncomfortable.
Mattress in Turkish Room is superb. Breakfast was 5 star Clear instructions on access and house rules
The breakfasts were lovely. The location was terrific, in walking distance from downtown.
The price per night was very high (higher than we expected given the website).
Beautiful all around. Beautifully decorated, great owner, great food and great location. Very comfortable.
Our room was a bit cool.
Beautiful decorations, exceptional service and comfortable bed.
Breakfast was ok. Location
Room was plain, and cold.Bathroom dark and dingy
Very nice place.
People walking around, cleaning and vacuuming in the morning.
sehr aufmerksame Gastgeberin, exzellentes Frühstück, liebevoll ausgestattete Räume, gute Tipps fürs Erkunden der Region und für Restaurants
My husband and I loved the look of the bnb, it was very clean, walking distance to restaurants and the staff was was very friendly..
Would of loved to stay longer
Very nice but small room. No special touches. Good breakfast.
I think charging an extra fee of $35 for an early check in was unnecessary. We arrive at 2:30 pm and checkin is at 4pm. The room was ready, so it felt strange to have to leave for 1 1/2 hours.
Luxurious room and spa tub, great breakfasts and Jennifer was very nice
Appreciate parking but could have been a bit better laid out Also, the no shoes policy is not a plus since we aren’t accustomed to taking our shoes off upon entering a house
My partner and I came for a romantic night and were blown away by how gorgeous the Grandview Room was. The bathroom was humungous, and we loved making use of the enormous shower and double jacuzzi tub. We unfortunately didn't have time to enjoy the balcony area but it seemed private and peaceful. We enjoyed the chef created breakfast outside on their quaint patio area outside the front door. The food and service were second-to-none. Can't wait to return!
The only downside was that there wasn't an outdoor outlet/extension cord for me to charge my electric car overnight.
Top persoonlijk
This guest home is beautiful. It has everything you could want in addition to old world charm. The owner, Janet, is very personable, interesting and eager to make sure you enjoy Guelph. And the chef, Jen, is fabulous. Food choices are varied and abundant. And coffee, tea, etc is available 24/7. So glad we stayed there.
No negatives at all.
Gardens, outdoor sitting areas were stunning. Turkish room was stunning. Loved little details like bath salts for that gorgeous jacuzzi tub and robes. Breakfast was a 10/10. Healthy and hearty and excellent service.
I recommend a EV charger for electric cars.
The breakfast was amazing and the rooms were very comfy.
The website stated a fridge in the room but there was not one there
Great location. Wonderful breakfast. Great service.
I had read reviews of the property and unfortunately there were both some good points as well as disappointments. We booked the Penthouse Suite and were surprised by how the bathroom looked and was maintained. There was a leaky sink and the bathroom shower hardware was damaged and missing. We also expected the extra queen bed, but it was not available upon our late arrival. Sadly, this was not clearly communicated on the Expedia app upon booking, but is on the BnB's website. Either way, be aware when booking to mention if that extra bedroom is needed when booking the Penthouse Suite-you have to request access to it. The positives were the bed and pillows were comfortable and soft and the property was quiet mid-week. Overall, it felt the room was dated and not what you would expect for the rate that was charged. The chef in the am was truly sweet and pleasant, but overall the value was not here unless you are interested in staying at a Bed and Breakfast for the historic feel. I would not have upgraded to the larger suite for the price.
Great place to stay with warm and friendly staff.
Amazing breakfast!
All was perfect.
Historic building with nice outdoor area.
The property is listed as dog friendly but don’t be fooled as you and your dog will not feel welcome. From the moment we parked and were greeted by the owner we were made to feel unwelcome. The owner cared more about her home vs being hospitable to her guests. We couldn’t wait to leave.
Confort des chambres , bon rapport qualité /prix Bon petit déjeuner
Friendly and sincere desire for us to enjoy our stay! And we did! spacious rooms, excellent breakfast and the home is beautifully decorated.
Very elegant. Clean. Super breakfest

I ordered the french toast which was great but I have to seriously watch sugar and it was coated in sugar. I should have asked.
Lovely stay. Sat outside after breakfast and the gardens were lovely.
The decor, overall ambient very elegant

Absolutely loved our brief stay at the Norfolk Guest House. It was clean, charming, had everything we needed and the gardens and patios were beautiful. We were in Guelph for my daughter’s graduation and we took lovely photos in the gardens. Price was great and the host was friendly, efficient and helpful. Everything was easy and we hope to come again for a more leisurely stay!
It was a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!
A beautiful century home with an upscale, yet cozy feel. My room was pleasant and quiet. The bed, bedding and pillows were all comfortable and quality. I appreciated the attention to detail and quality amenities. Janet was always helpful and easy to contact with any question. I would highly recommend this property.
I needed to leave early Sunday morning and the chef was very accommodating and made cooked breakfast early.
The chef in the morning was wonderful. Only stayed one night but plan to be back.
We had a lovely stay ithe room was very comfortable and cozy. Loved our experience
Everything is perfect, the freshly made breakfast is delicious,.
The only thing is that if you stay in Pandora's room, the noise from the passing vehicles is a bit noisy
The only issue was the owners were not overly responsive to messages.
Beautiful, luxurious
Very nice and the excellent
Communication with hotel staff was poor. We never had any in-person communication. We had arranged for early check-in at an extra charge because we were attending an afternoon event nearby. Although we arrived an hour later than we had indicated due to traffic, our room was not ready. We asked for the $35 'early check in fee' to be removed and it was removed after speaking to the breakfast staff. In general the bed was comfortable. There was only one mug at the '24/7' coffee/tea service which we rinsed out to reuse in the morning. The breakfast was okay but we would have appreciated some fruit or toast served as well. Overall we were disappointed with the overall attention to detail and guest experience.
Our room was beautifully decorated and, despite being full, the home was very quiet. Jennifer greeted us every morning and gave us delicious breakfast options. The home had thoughtful amenities such as a full fridge in our room, a microwave and water (hot and cold) at our disposal.
The host was very nice The Christmas decor was very nice
The description for the room was - "two-bedrooms suite": Bedroom 1: large double bed Bedroom 2: extra-large double bed Living room: sofa bed In reality, one "bedroom" was combined with the living room, kitchen and dining table (terribly wabbly), So, there was no separation between the bedroom and living room. For us the whole idea to get two bedrooms and a living room was that everyone sleeps in a separate room due to different sleeping issues (there were three family members). To get an additional room, we had to pay more, and luckily, there were empty rooms because we were the only guests in the inn. There were endless unnecessary pillows on the beds, and when we cleaned some space on the bed to lay down to watch TV, the pillows were all over the room on the floor. The description of the inn promises "Exceptional breakfast" : "À la carte and Full English/Irish breakfast options with warm dishes, pancakes and fruits are available every morning." When we came to the kitchen, we were asked how we want out eggs, we didn't see promised pancakes, or any other "À la carte and Full English/Irish breakfast options", and each one of us was presented with a single clementine, which i guess was "fruits" When we paid, the payment device prompted us to pay tips. I don't remember anywhere in another hotel or apartments that after you pay everything they requested, they still want more money, and ask for y tips. We paid 20% which resulted in CAD 120, so out total bill was CAD 845 for something that is not worth half of it. You are required to take off your shoes when you are in the building, and it cased a lot of pain for me because one of my legs is shorter than the other by 4cm, and I wear custom modified shoes where one shoe has 4 cm lift to compensate for the legs length difference. I actually wear shoes home to be able to walk, so walking around the inn without shoe lift was a problem for me.
Stunning century house decorated with impeccable taste! Linens are top of the line and rooms are very well thought out with every amenity one could want. The host was very accomodating and both a wealth of local information and discretion. I would come back in a heart beat!
An amazing property, great rooms (grandview suite), clean, tidy, quiet, comfortable
Beautiful older home, very clean and comfortable and very good breakfast & dining area. Loved it and will rent again.
Absolutely beautiful Inn with themed rooms in a home built in 1865. Staff were wonderful and so was the breakfast! We will be back!
Beautiful house and grounds. Great breakfast. We had the penthouse, lots of space and nice balcony. Good location!
There was an AC vent directly above the bed at the pillow end. The shower tap seems to be backwards...cold is hot, hot is cold.
It was gorgeous, had that beautiful small town inn and welcoming feeling and was really well maintained. The chef for breakfast was also amazing.

We were visiting family in Guelph from the UK. in September 2024. Janet, our host, was delightful and the breakfasts were exceptional. We thoroughly enjoyed their unpredictability and without exception were delicious. We never quite knew was the breakfast would be until we arrived at the breakfast table and after the first morning we were excited for what was in store. When visiting the family again staying at Norfolk House with janet will be a priority.
We couldn't fault it. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and great host. Only possible criticism would be possibly too many cushions on the beds!
great breakfast
room alittle too hot for sleeping
It was as expected. The girl who made breakfast was lovely, I believe her name was Jennifer.
The road noise from the 4 lanes of traffic just outside our room was 24hrs/day. We had to wear earplugs at night. There were too many large & odd bottles of shampoo, body wash etc in the bathroom which looked messy.
Breakfast was great!friendly cook
I like that breakfast is included and it is very good.

Great place to stay. Penthouse suite was really lovely. Great breakfast, friendly staff. Good location to walk into Guelph. Parking outside.
No complaints.
Felt like home away from home.
Delightful historic property! Walkable dining options, great breakfast. Very comfortable.
The breakfast was very good, our room was large with a small kitchen and the beds were very comfortable.
Our second visit and it won't be our last. Highly recommend, clean, quiet, comfortable bed and beautifully decorated! Breakfast was amazing. Loved meeting the other guests.
Nothing.
Wonderful stay at a truly gorgeous bed & breakfast! Inside is absolutely decadent with delightful hot breakfasts and a magical outdoor space. Excellent location!
