The Staff were exceptional, they had smiling faces and we were welcomed with a sweet lemon drink on the House. The location was central and they had a clean swimming pool

The property was spotless, the staff were extremely polite and helpful. Rooms were really clean. The hotel is in a great location. The swimming pool area is lovely and a great addition to the hotel.

There is a busy road outside the hotel but it’s nice inside and in bed it wasn’t an issue.

Amazing stay as always, the team are incredibly helpful and friendly, nothing is too much trouble, with a welcome cold drink on arrival. Rooms have been updated since our last stay and exceptionally clean with brilliant air con, although on a busy road at the front the double glazing works a treat. Breakfast amazing and also pool facilities. Highly recommend and we’ll be back ! Thank you for a lovely stay

The staff were fantastic very helpful and had lots of information available for the area also the chef / bar lady at night her name was Tiziana was absolutely brilliant her food was the best we had on our trip the pool area was nice and kept clean and tidy just all round good hotel

Only thing for me was I am 6ft 3 and the shower was about small for me but my wife was fine with it she's 5ft 9

Pool needs more care, turf looks cheap. The plants have lots of bugs. Towels should be available at the pool not reception. Bed was hard and shower small. Road was super loud. The hotel has these rooms condensed on every floor and is very loud especially when the housekeepers start cleaning and talking to each other. We could hear every step every word and every chair dragging on the floor, a lot of echoing. Breakfast was good if you looked for pastries every morning, but an omelette would be extra 13€. The scrambled eggs offered were watery and not good. The roof top terrace is empty with one lonely table; it has so much unused potential

Good location close to everything, you can walk to city center 10 minutes away,great staff and helpful,room and breakfast were great, large swimming pool, grocery store nearby.

The rooms were spotless, the airconditioning was fantastic, the breakfast room was beautiful and the staff were friendly and helpful. Staff member Tiziana was especially lovely and looked after us one night when we decided to eat in. The food was delicious and the service was A+. The swimming pool is great and there are plenty of sun lounges for everyone. Loved our stay here and we would definitely stay again. There is a coin laundry two minutes down the road, which was really helpful and a deli a couple of doors up. The deli man also makes fresh sandwiches and they are incredible! You can walk to the main Piazza and the train station in around 15 minutes. There is also a bus stop only a few metres away from the hotel entrance.

This property is a gem. The staff here are a standout, big thanks to Lilio. Mariangela, Maria at breakfast who knew our coffee order habits by day 3. They were outstanding, helpful, organised and professional. Shout out to Tiziana who greeted us most days with a lovely smile, we only ate an evening meal once but this was delicious. All reception staff were friendly and those whose names I didn’t catch you are all fantastic. Breakfast was plentiful with fresh fruit, yoghurts, jams, cheese, cold meats, smoked salmon. Cereals, muesli, boiled eggs, salads, juices, mozzarella, toast and spreads, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage… not to mention at least 8 different pastries. Coffee was freshly made for you. The pool area has plenty of sunbeds and parassols. The hotel was super, super clean. Room was decent size with spacious bathroom. We had a super comfort room at the back of the hotel. Quiet and peaceful. Higher up rooms had a view over the pool and sea view. Nothing major at all. Just a few points if it helps anyone make informed decisions. The hotel is situated outside of main area and the distance to Sorrento centre could be a problem for those with mobility difficulties. We enjoyed the walk and it took about 15 minutes. This was straight road. Easy gentle stroll. Little bit of noise from busy road but this could not be heard from our room at the back when the doors were shut. Very deep pool at one end of 3 metres, meant only half the pool used really. Was a little crowded in the shallow end on a couple of days. Pool bar food a little pricey but I believe this is owned by hotel next door who we share the pool with No major complaints at all.... I would come. back in a heart beat

The Hotel had a lovely garden area at the back with a nice pool and lots of sun beds. Drinks available at a small bar beside the pool, you could also order food from there if you wished.

The Road on which the Hotel was on was really busy and noisy. There was a nice little outside terrace area on the front but unfortunately the road traffic would put you off sitting there.

Breakfast was very good. The air conditioning is very strong and we loved it to escape from the heat. The mattress and pillows were really good which is often not the case in hotels. Very friendly staff.

Welcoming staff, spotless clean, room cleaned everyday with fresh towels provided.

Rooms are very small, single beds were tiny and its quite noisey early morning from staff/guests moving furniture in the rooms above and beside you. Breakfast was included but you had to pay extra if you want pancakes or omelette. Pool towels are not changed daily, was told the ones you get on day 1 are the only ones you can have although I did get a fresh set on day 3 but had to ask.

Lovely little hotel with friendly staff. Enjoyed the breakfast options and had a delicious dinner in the hotel restaurant on the last night of our stay. We had a comfort double room and although not the smallest room in the hotel it was compact. Pool is managed by a different company and shared with hotel next door.

The hotel is on a fairly busy road and is approx a 20 minute walk to the centre of Sorrento. Once you were inside the hotel there was no road noise. As with many hotels there is an extra charge for parking.

From the moment we walked into this Hotel, we were greeted with nothing but happy & helpful staff. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay a special one. Tiziana always made sure we had beautiful food in our bellies & a smile on our faces. Maria & breakfast staff, always welcomed us each morning & looked after us very well. Good location and good gym you can access.

The room was very small, with only one bedside table. No tea/coffee facilities in the room. The breakfast staff were really nice to us on the first day and then the second day, they asked us to sit at a table and then told us to move. The breakfast staff were being exceptionally rude to other customers too, rolling their eyes, tutting and just didn’t want to be there. Then on another occasion, a staff member just walked into the room when I was in the shower without knocking. This hotel was severely overpriced with poor customer service. Do not stay here.

Tiziana was an amazing chef and provided great service the whole week!

The bed was very comfortable and the room was very well insulated from any noise. We've had a great night sleep! The bathroom was modern and well equipped. The facilities were super clean. Breakfast was more than adequate but not mind blowing. Food and coffee were good quality. The swimming pool and sun loungers are a nice touch as well. Lots of budget friendly restaurants and bars near the hotel, as it's a bit further from the old town

Having to sign off for swimming pool towels and then return the towels back to the reception seems outdated and not something you expect from a 4 star hotel. It's really a shame that drinks at the pool are so incredibly expensive. They would sell much much more if they dropped the prices a bit and guests would have much better time socialising around the pool! The hotel is about 20min walk from the old town and you have to walk on a busy road. It didn't bother us too much as everything else with the hotel was great, but it's worth having in mind.

The Hotel Gardenia is a very clean, welcoming and comfortable place to stay and has an excellent pool area that is an oasis of tranquility after the hustle and bustle of Sorrento itself. The staff are so friendly and helpful and were brilliant throughout our stay. The sea view rooms are beautifully decorated and the views are stunning, well worth the additional price.

Located on the main road in to Sorrento; this road does not sleep and unless you are a heavy sleeper neither will you. 15 mins walk to train station 20 mins walk to port, shops and restaurants The walk becomes tedious after the first day; little or no pavement on a busy road, you can not have a conversation on the way to your destination as the traffic is so noisy and you need to concentrate on not getting run over. Our room was very small, nowhere to store the luggage, we had to move it to either get to the wardrobe or to access the balcony . Wouldn’t have been a problem except we stayed for 6 nights.

A lovely hotel, beautifully appointed. We were welcomed very warmly with a welcome drink. The room, an economy one, was lovely, if somewhat snug with a great balcony. The breakfast was the best of our trip. My only, constructive, comment is that the bathroom needs somewhere to put your clothes whilst you're showering and your wash bag. A shelf under the washbasin and a few hooks would do the trick.

I rated it 4 and not 5 stars due to the busy road. We had a balcony overlooking the only road in and out Sorrento which has constant traffic noise. It was noisy at night even with the double glazed door shut. Otherwise this hotel is perfect. It is immaculately clean, friendly helpful staff and the gem is the marvellous large pool at the back of the hotel. There are plenty of sunbeds for everyone which gives a sense of space and privacy. The pool bar staff are friendly and always available for drinks and snacks. As I am on a gluten free diet, I struggled with choice in the restaurants but the chef made me the best aubergine parmigiana I have ever eaten. It wasn’t even on the menu! Thank you. It is an easy walk to the town centre I would absolutely recommend this hotel but book a room with a balcony facing the pool for a peaceful night sleep.

First time in Sorrento, chose this hotel largely based on the good reviews for gluten free breakfast options. The hotel was very clean, pool was lovely, rooftop area nice, staff nice. Breakfast was nice (I am not gluten free). However, I didnt feel it was that great for my coeliac son (age 11). There was no gluten free cereal or bread. Thankfully I had taken 2 boxes of cereal with us. He was given a basket of gluten free cakes and biscuits some mornings but he wasnt really keen. He had yoghurt from the buffet, and could have had eggs also. Just some cereal and bread would have been great. Our room was on the front of the hotel and was quite noisy from the road although it didnt really stop us getting to sleep. It was about a 20 minute walk to the train station, main part of sorrento and the ferry docks. I think if I came to Sorrento again I would maybe look for a more central hotel with a pool as the breakfast here was not as good as I had been expecting from other reviews.

Hotel Gardenia Sorrento was the very first stop on our 3-week journey moving north through Italy, and it set an incredibly high bar! For our first stay of many upcoming hotels, this one did not disappoint. ​We arrived late in the evening, and the concierge was waiting to welcome us along with the chef, Tiziana. She greeted us with a homemade glass of fresh-squeezed lemonade, which was incredibly refreshing after a long travel day and probably the best we’ve ever had! ​The hotel itself is impeccably clean and fresh. The rooms are quiet and the beds are very comfortable. We loved the rooftop area, which offers a great view and a nice spot to sit, and there is also a lovely pool and access to a shared gym. ​The breakfast buffets each morning, prepared by Chef Tiziana, were plentiful and delicious. I truly cannot say enough about her—on another evening when we returned late and tired after a long tour day, she graciously opened the kitchen early just to cook her specialties for us. Everyone at this hotel was friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful 4-night stay and highly recommend it!

Have just spent five nights at this hotel and I would highly recommend it. The location is ideal and a ten to fifteen minute walk into the centre of Sorrento. The facilities are great with comfortable rooms, a good dining room and a nice size pool. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful and we had a really lovely dinner one evening.

The hotel was very clean and the staff were superb and incredibly friendly. Breakfast was wonderful with a wide variety of options and the staff even brought out a gluten-free basket of bread and muffins once they found out one of us was celiac.

Room was small, which was not a huge problem, it just meant we needed to put our luggage up onto our beds to open them up each time. Location about 12-15 min walk to Piazza Tasso, again not a huge problem except for the rain and somewhat limited mobility of my traveling partner. Otherwise no issues with the property…the hospitality of the staff outweighed these issues.

Amazing hotel, I highly recommend staying here if you are in Sorrento. The staff were amazing, always going out of their way to help and extremely friendly. I would also suggest trying the restaurant in the evening as we had a lovely pasta dish here. Would come back here again for sure. Thanks x

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Gardenia. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was impressive with a great selection. Our room was comfortable. We had dinner in the restaurant twice during our stay and the food was good. We were temped by chef Tiziana to try her experiment of a lemon tiramisu, made from lemons from the hotel garden It didn't disappoint, it was devine, light and refreshing and beautifully presented. The lemon flavor was spot on.

Gostei muito das instalações, do conforto do quarto, por ser bem tecnológico, do café da manhã com muitas opções, da localização.

O único ponto negativo é que o hotel não se responsabiliza pelos carros ou com o que possa acontecer com os mesmos, dentro do estacionamento oferecido pelo hotel, mesmo sendo um estacionamento pago.

The hotel was extremely well kept, and looked after. Everything was sparkling clean, the breakfast options were fantastic and varied. The staff were extremely helpful, and always willing to do what they could to make our stay better.

We had no opinion of the pool facilities since they were closed (season) during our stay.

We stayed at Gardenia off season. Taking this into account, we had a very nice price and an upgraded room. The staff, starting from Signor Toni to the nice lady at reception and the waiters at the restaurant, I cannot imagine a better service and a better staff. The room was almost perfect, we had a beautiful balcony. There was a mini fridge. The breakfast was very delicious.

The hotel is about 1 km to the center, the bathroom was a bit small.

Absolutely fabulous stay We stayed for 5 nights in January, all the staff greeted you everyday with a smile, place was spotless , breakfast was lovely and never felt that you had rush, ate twice in the restaurant and both times the food was excellent and a very nice waitress, even the bar man beeped and waved at us when we were out on a walk The pool wasn’t being used in the winter months but the area looked lovely and the roof terrace had a lovely view, although it was next to the road we had no problem with noise as the window were very well soundproofed
