Paid top rate for what should have been an clean, modern room however got a drab - tied room. Shower room was grotty and the flush barely working. I would have got a better room at Premier Inn ! Next week will be looking for different hotel. The desk was dirty
Room and cost The amount of money I paid - got a room that even Premier Inn or Travel Lodge have better cleanness and more modern !
Alles bestens

Nice clean
No ac
Starbucks coffee and nice lounge. Pool
Rooms are too dark. No dealing lights.
Everything
Good bed.
Breakfast too expensive for what it was. Some staff were friendly but others not.
We have stayed several times and not had room to complain however this time kettle not working had a replacement and again not working so I was disappointed I couldn’t have my drinks and only one towel supplied I don’t like sharing
Was very spacious room also it seems as they just renovated the place we could smell new paint which was a bonus for us
Nothing
Nice quiet room, comfy bed.
You have to login at check in. System failed even for reception staff. Sadly company trying too hard to cut staff have forgotten that hospitality is about looking after people
Nice hotel location, nice view from the window, and quiet.
I booked the room for my guests, who are actors, and they had to check out of the hotel by 8:00 AM due to preparations for the show. Unfortunately, even though breakfast was included in the price (I specifically chose it for that reason), it is only served starting from 8:00 AM. Sadly, my guests were unable to have breakfast. That is a major downside.
Location, room was nice enough, bed was comfortable although a little warm.
The pool area was filthy and you had to walk through muddy water to get in. Water damage everywhere. The general areas were tatty and not cleaned daily. The breakfast was less than average deep fried everything, clumps of scrambled egg, all a bit lazily put together, and the tables were sticky. Self check in is annoying. One lift broken no explanation. Stayed in better Premier inns, to be honest it should be cheaper for what it is. Needs a lot of updating. Oh and the entrance is not sign posted you have to follow a sign for a demolished pizza hut. Really any hotel could pop up a sign cheaply. I have stayed here twice prior just has been let down
Súper limpio, tranquilo y amplio.
Good layout, friendly atmosphere, very clean. This was across all facilities.
duży i przestronny pokoj
w restauracji bylo bardzo brudno. stoliki i menu byly klejące
Free parking
Smart tv with internet app access disabled The pictures aren’t a true reflection of the hotels current condition. No air con or room fridge. Smart tv with smart/web functions disabled. Chose this hotel as it had a pool however this incurs an extra charge
Room was tired & lacked the basics like sanitary bag; shaving kit; toothbrush - that you would expect from a more expensive hotel like Village - the hotel did not compare well with a basic Marriott. It is an older hotel being refurbed - the gym / pool are superb - but the room/hallways and signage around the refurb to the room was very poor

Tall lamp didn’t work, poor lighting in room Mattress topper didn’t fit the bed, no complimentary bottle of water. I don’t drink tea or coffee Instructions how to order room service were poor room service came on grubby tray. Walls paper thin No where to park, had to use a disabled bay
The facilities, pool, sauna, especially the jacuzzi.
The TV, couldn’t connect YouTube to watch my videos. Very complicated to put something on the tv.
La limpieza
Location and leisure facilities
Some refurbishment works ongoing, old furniture left out in car park looked shabby.
Facilities good pool
They let large groups stay up all night drinking in the corridor u are not getting any sleep. A fight broke out talks of knife. We will not be returning
No breakfast Good location
Bath room let the room down
I felt very welcomed when I arrived at the hotel and the room was very clean with a comfy bed
The noise of the retail park outside my window, with youths making a lot of noise, cars speeding in car park Not really a pleasant view overlooking a car park and old furniture piled up in the hotel car park
Excellent location for us. Lots of space. Rooms decent size
1. It was extremely warm and we needed a fan on all night to make it bearable. 2. Only one lift was working all the time we were there.
Clean and comfortable
Too many kids
Friendly welcome from staff
Rooms under modernisation missing sofa and fridge, window did not close and view from window of all sofas piled up.
Its a great place with a gym, sports bar, then cinema & bowling complex over the road, then asda, greggs & mcdonalds over the other road.
At 2am some knob head in a BMW 135i decided to spend 1hr trying to do doughnuts around the car park right in front of the hotel, the kid didnt have a clue what he was doing but wanted to keep trying, then he was just speeding up & down the road for another hour with his pops and bangs, so I didnt get much sleep but thats not the hotels fault, although it would have been nice if a member of staff would have rang the police considering its illegal at 2am.
Room was very hot and stuffy,
room size is ok bed comfortable free parking nice green area around close to shops, pubs ect nice gym and swimming pool friendly staff
just a bit dark in a room cleaning could be better
Very good and practical
The bed legs as a bit of a hazard to stump toe. Raised it last year
ok
ok
Good facilities
Toilet leaked (they did switch our room). Parked at the door for a few minutes to drop off cases (as people do at hotels everywhere) and had a note left on the car about parking there. A lot of construction happening.
Location
Broken curtains, smelly, broken sink, dirty carpets
Loved it here, nice venue, clean and thoroughly enjoyed my stay
People next door were little noisy around 3am but understand there was a wedding celebration taking place.
Spacious areas to relax in bar was cool for my film loving football loving hubby
Unfortunately the breakfast was not worth the money we spent on it. staff had explained that a mix up with order and understaffed was the problem but I'm total I paid £60 for 4 breaks and it wasn't very enjoyable the food wasn't very hot 25 min wait for bacon and beans no yoghurt or pastries
Very clean and comfortable place
Had everything you need rooms were excellent
Location
Noise in the morning for renovation work going on.
Big room, clean.
Lift not working, breafast need improvement
Big room, bath, price wasn’t too much, swimming pool
Room needed a deep clean, furniture wasn’t moved during cleaning we found possessions from previous guests behind furniture and underneath beds. Very dusty behind sofa too. Overall beds were fresh and relatively cheap stay
Location and price
We had a fan in our room but was still very hot in the night
arrival, check in/out helpfulness of staff. Excellent gym/swim. Food good and value for money
breakfast timings - finishing at 0900 in the week. Too early if you have travelled a distance and like an early work out. Bar timings, especially for residents, I would have expected some flexibility past 2230/2300
Always polite and professional service from the Swindon branch - we feel very welcome, and got the most enormous room (a double double) this time - brilliant! Every single member of staff is just wonderful - feels like home (don't care what other people say - the welcome is outstanding, our first choice in Swindon, every time).
Very friendly staff, breakfast was good.
Hotel is tired and needs refurbishment - which is in progress now. I don't think we got a refurbished room. Hated the self Check In - not very welcoming, and staff there to do it for you anyway. I would do away with it and re-instate a proper, welcoming reception desk. Room was warm but outdated aircon system was too noisy to use.
Staff when checking in were very helpful and can not fault them thank you. Location was good. Parking was good.
The pillows were lumpy. The room wasn't particuarly clean, rubbish under the bed. Didn't think the directions to our room were particularly clean. There was building work which didn't help. The breakfast was ok, but the scrambled eggs were solid and the coffee was undrinkable. The rest of the breakfast was fine, but expensive for the quality.
I recently got married and had our reception here and it went perfectly, Marie, Freya and Jemma were absolutely amazing, they set the room up exactly how I imagined and always checked in on us to make sure we were okay and to let us know what we're doing in regards to speeches and first dance. Everything just went so smoothly and I can't thank them enough for making our day so special and easy, there wasn't a time where we were questioning anything or stressing and worrying. They had it all under control and from the beginning when we booked the venue I had no worries and with how the day would go so thank you to all of the staff who helped out. Also thank you for the card and prosecco left in our room too, it felt so special to us.
Very dated! No A/C! Basic decorated rooms.
Noise. Bypass road nearby. Lots of noise. We had to sleep with the windows open!
Conveniently near to hospital
Needs a revamp interior
Hot, stuffy, loud. This hotel could have been great. The poor was rubbish and family times were not respected - it was a free for all with no family activity. The rooms were hotter than the sun, despite it being 20 degrees outside. We checked out a day early and when complaints were heard by the staff they said “there is nothing we can do”.
Breakfast team this morning were lovley (Carly, Rachel, Ethan, Ryan and Anasu), all super helpful and super chatty, to not just us! Really enjoyed breakfast buffet this morning! No complaints from us!
Newly refurbished bedroom. Very comfortable bed.
Stuffy room.
A really nice place to stay and I will certainly visit again and also look at other places in UK as advertised. However, the one weak point was I stayed during very hot weather and the hotel had no AC
spacious clean room, nice shower, comfortable bed , swimming pool was nice but a charge of £5 was disappointing
unhelpful staff at check in, no help offered, checking out even worse, lady who was cleaning around the dining/lounge area during the night was pleasant
Clean throughout and room was comfortable
Nothing
Great stay. Lovely refurbished room. Great meal in the pub&grill. Friendly and attentive staff throughout the hotel. Excellent value for money with their 2 night break which included breakfast and. £50 voucher to spend in the pub & grill.
Swindon Bats had a wonderful time thank you all so very much at The Village for making our Charity event so nemorable. Special thank you to you and Freya for everything you did to support us with planning and all the staff were wonderful, especially the bar and serving staff! Honestly so kind and helpful. We really couldn't of asked for a better event. It was seamless and everyone had the best night.
Good location to Cotswolds Free parking
Hotel rooms not the cleanest Pool not very clean and more like a leisure centre £5 fee to use the pool not big enough to swim Restaurant not much choice of food
Breakfast was ok. It would have been nice if the two people at the desk informed me re cereal and drinks were the buffet breakfast you could not miss I had to go and ask them where it was.
Room was next to a road and the traffic was very loud There is also no telephone in the room so you can't call reception or room service I feel that's important in a hotel you can't phone from your mobile to reception either as it goes to the call centre and only they can put you through to the hotel that's not good.
Attended a birthday party in the large event space (Inspiration Suite). Great service and a tasty indian themed buffet. Reasonable prices for drinks at the bar. Went out after the event, so only slept for a few hours and missed breakfast, but I did get a decent workout in the gym during my stay. Starbucks helped the hangover. The hotel manager is a top bloke. Village Swindon is well worth a visit.
Stayed over the weekend at the village when visiting friends, great pool and clean changing rooms and the air conditioning in the gym was lovely! The bedroom was a great size, clean as expected too. We added a pub and grill voucher to our room which i'll definitely be doing again! Food was amazing, lots of chances to save money with the app and deals they do. Libby served us multiple times and seemed happy to be there, constantly recommending things and the service was quick, despite it being busy. Breakfast in the morning was great as well, staff were all busy clearing and buffet was well stocked. Will definitely be returning we were very happy with our stay!
Popped into the pub for a quick drink . Was busy but staff was very helpful
Came for an afternoon lunch, Freya was really organised and helped me make my experience smooth and Dan was polite and quick. I highly recommend!!!
Charlotte was really friendly and made the dining experience amazing.
What I like most is the service …
Good location, lovely entrance, friendly staff, comfortable room, good facilities with a Starbucks! all round A1
Nothing to dislike!
Easy to check in. Everything you need within reach.
Staff at breakfast preferred talking to each other then assisting.
Location
No air conditioning - full of children as part of a complex and had cobwebs in room And fans were full of dust and though I asked for another fan that also came with dust. Housekeeping needs to be improved.
BETTWANZEN!!! Noch 1 Woche danach rote Stellen an der Haut
A busy hotel as it had lot of gym members coming and going. It was ideal for our needs.
Having to fill all of my details into the booking system which are already held by booking.com and could have been transferred to the system automatically. A minor inconvenience.
Easy to get to and check in, staff are friendly and hotel generally comfortable and clean
We weren’t told about major work being done to the hotel and had quite a journey to get to our room by having to go the long way round with our toddler and bags quite late at night after a long day.
Location. Sky sports on room tv
great location with nearby activities for our kids within really short walk, rooms were lovely
kids would have liked some toys/floats etc for playing in the pool ... was very hot in the rooms but understandable with the weather
房間很新,住起來很舒適,性價比高
OK
The need to have the app to get happy hour price. Not clearly stated.o
Bien cuidado. Aparcamiento gratuito.
Le falta una neverita en la habitación. No reponían todo lo necesario en la habitación.
Problem booking on hotel.com app, no room booked when I got there, absolutely no help from reception people at all. Re-booked on their own website at a vastly higher price, the hotel site was slow and clunky, added details twice but eventually worked. Booked in myself on another desktop system, even though 2 people stood there and confirmed my booking had just come in, then went to my room. Works on the first floor meant I couldn't access my room (according to the signs directing me to a door with no access to to works going on), so I went back to reception and asked how to access my room to be told to go back where I just came from and turn right, I pointed out I couldn't turn right, doors say no access, the lady told me to calm down (but I certainly wasn't losing my temper at all), you access the room via the left instead and walk round. I did point out that a sign confirming that would be helpful, save confusing guests. To which I was told the floor is circular and all rooms are accessible, to which I pointed out that this was a little poor planning and her reply was "whatever ", very unprofessional. So along with chipped paint, a lift that's been out of action for months (out of action on a previous visit about a month ago), several bits of maintenance required, I think £190 a night is by far too much, I think a premier inn is run better and that's really saying something!
was very clean and good.
Very impressed with the new renovation
Aircon didn’t work so was very hot in the room
We arrived just before 9.30pm as there was a huge issue on the m4. We had booked the dinner inclusive package and the very nice chap who greeted us at check in told us they stopped serving at 9.15pm but we could ask at the bar. We did this and the lovely chef agreed to make us and some other late arrivals food which we were incredibly grateful for. Food was good, no complaints there. It was very messy in the bar but they had been busy and it was late so I am not judging on that. The hotel itself is very tired. The room was just OK. It was very hot in the room and other areas. We didn’t get to see the leisure facilities unfortunately. There were a lot of children running around the bar. I don’t mind kids at all but it was late and they also had a wee rampage around the corridors later it seems. breakfast was fine , usual hotel Buffett. I wouldn’t stay at this particular location again but my daughter stayed at Reading which is of course much newer and loved it so we will try that one next time.
The Starbucks
The fact that it was going through a refurbishment, no mention of this when booking. Room was very, very tired! Only 5 disabled spaces for the whole hotel. Hardly seen any staff.
Staff was very friendly and helpful , recently refurbished and very clean, The gym and swimming pool is good.
In my experience at the village hotel i was served hot food and cold and refreshing drinks.also lauren at the bar was very inviting and welcoming when me and my family arrived
Had a little mums meeting planned here… food and drinks a plenty… was exactly what we needed… Lauren was great with recommendations for food and drinks 10/10 for venue 10/10 food and 10/10 for our server has made us want to make it a regular thing for our rundown mums club.
Had a lovely stay will definitely stay again friendly helpful staff lady called Lauren extremely friendly and helpful
I stayed in one of your rooms with our family and was very welcomed by the lovely lady (Debbie) she was amazing with my children around the pool area. Shes a credit to you and your business.
Amazing stay. It's nice to come down to visit family and see some familiar faces. Debbie from leisure is always there when I go and so helpful and friendly. What a lovely lady
Excellent
Everything was lovely
Area and friendly staff
All ok
I was hapy with nearly every aspect of my stay, rooms were clean staff were polite.
I had a double room and it was two singles pushed together wich makes for an uncomftable sleep with your partner. Also we were to check out on the monday at 11 and work in the room next to us start early, there were power drills growing that realy disturb mine and my partner sleep, this really ruined the whole experience as we stayed in the hotel to get slme peace and a good night sleep that was ruined by the drills and banging next door.
Bed comfy and there was a fan which was good
We were disappointed the room was not filled up with tea coffee and milk . We were unable to make a cuppa on the Sunday morning. We mentioned it to reception on checking out and reply was you should have put room to be serviced hanging on the door. Wouldn't it be better to tell you that when you check in ?
Great location, very clean food in bar and grill good . The pool etc very clean everything easy to use .
Room was very warm fan there did help, very disappointed with the breakfast poor compared with other hotels in Swindon, breakfast finishes at 9 ,ten to 9 chef came out to replenish no way that would all be eaten by 9 ,staff need to be trained properly to ensure an upgrade in standards .
Jackie & Rhiana Starbucks team make great coffee today
Went to village hotel in Swindon during the World Cup games and the members of staff Dan was super friendly, very chatty and just provided overall great service
The AC UNIT in my room wasn’t working well and it was super hot
The room was huge, I asked for a bath which I got, it was very deep. The swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna were lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful, I didn’t have a remote for the tv but within 5 minutes they’d brought one to me. shows that a minor problem is rectified with no fuss and a smile! Shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand wash provided in the bathroom. Two decent sized cups for drinks, and some biscuits and two nice tumblers for water, I hate a tiny water glass as I like to have a glass of water next to my bed! Also they had a water cooler in the lobby which is a nice touch. In my room I had a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. I didn’t have the breakfast, but it looked nice. I will definitely look at this chain hotels for stays in other places
No usb charging ports in the plug sockets. Not a problem for me as I’d brought a charger plug with me and there were plenty of plug sockets, but if I was to suggest an improvement this would be it
Showing it’s age, rooms grubby & food is a bit grim Gym is however excellent
The Swindon Village Hotel spoilt our little 2 night get away, due to the cleanliness and the condition the hotel is in. The outside is tired, then inside you're met with a dark tired unclean interior that really puts you off from the get go including the un-inviting reception check-in desk. Check- in: The check-in is self service with a member of staff helping you and others at the same time trying to check in electronically. It's not a supermarket. Can't a receptionist just check people in or just have both in place? If there were more than two sets of visitors trying to check in at once on the screens, it would be quite a long wait. Walking to the room:The paintwork along the corridor is all chipped. The lift was dirty. Glass doors dirty. You just didn't want to touch anything. Dark and tired. The room positives: First impression of the room was very good because it was a great size. The beds are huge and very comfy though we didn't sleep under the duvet and would have chosen not to even if it wasn't scorching temperatures in the UK just because the whole experience felt too dirty too.The room also had a really big TV to suit the room size. A sofa. Fan. Coffee machine. The room negatives: The room lacked sockets. Decor dark and very tired, tatty giving the illusion of filth due to all the chipped and broken things in the room. Dirty stuff , chairs, ironboard, curtains etc. There's no attention to detail cleaning though a VERY basic ok. We had to clean ourselves just to feel comfortable!! Some areas had thick dust. Extremely tatty bathroom. Duck tape fastening blinds together. But I also think the cleaners would be wasting their time due to the mess its in. It all needs a huge investment. External: Unfortunately there was continuous revving of car engines. It's not the hotel's fault, but there's alot around the hotel, so if you want quiet, you'd probably be better finding elsewhere. The pool: The pool was nice. The changing rooms could do with good cleaners. The showers also had black mould. Parking: Good. But better signage on the road would be better.
A group of us came into watch the football and had a great time. Very quick and friendly service from the staff and a great view of the TV made for an enjoyable few hours.
Location was excellent for off hotel food and drink if you wanted. Bus stop nearby if you find it by the Link centre. Was a quiet location considereing it was 3 weekend nights we stayed.
The decor was a bit tired in places and very dark. Some maintenance needed in our room with 3 light fittings loose. Receptionist seemed a bit condecending, as if I had no tablet computer skills on check in. She was totally wrong. Sounded like a school teacher.
