Location and music avent
No glass for water not much tea and coffee or milk , for a sea view I thought it was a bit bland, also the door didn’t shut so came back with my door open luckily I was on the end .
We literally arrived late at night and left early in the morning. We did not have much interaction with staff and did not use any of the facilities other than the car park which we could not use because it was full. I did like the fact that there was a fridge, coffee making facilities and a fan in the room.
when we arrived we made our way to reception, there were 3 maybe 4 members of staff at the desk and it took a good few minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. No one even looked up, I appreciate they may have been busy but a quick, "we'll be with you in a sec" would have really been appreciated. It had been a long journey.

I won £20 on the slots game casino, and they refused to give me my money . I'm very disappointed. Staff came to speak with me, and that lady was very rude.
Great location
No hot water Bed was terrible
Nothing
Overflowing car park, cars blocked in and unablw to leave exterior tired, not great first impression, interior even worse, poor service from desk staff, tired, dilapidated reception, broken vending machines, people asleep in waiting area, random life acess, unsafe lift door closure, rubbish on stairwell, room was a travesty, no comparison with website images and the fridge didn't work
Lots of entertainment lovely service
Omg the beds are lumpy and so uncomfortable my back and partners still recovering
I stay at the Grand Burstin twice a year. Always enjoy the stop there, plenty to do and places to visit.
Nothing in or around the hotel disturbs me.At 73 years old,i feel safe to walk around the area, very comforting these days.
The food
Tired. Too many guests slot machines etc. Lack of parking.
View was excellent
Some areas were a little scruffy. Under the sink needed cleaning.. Thw headboard on one bed had anew hole drilled but the old hole was not filled or painted but just left
Where the hotel is sited
The shower.would not work properly and not enough parking spaces
Excellent location, enjoyed the live entertainment, friendly staff, value for money.

Good location
Staff were overrun at check in and seemed under pressure Incorrect information given about parking Wrong information given by a colleague and no attempt to correct this. Not even an apology. Seems outdated
The location is right on the coast which is nice
It’s was smelly, dusty, poorly cleaned, very old and outdated.

Location and views
Our room smelled strongly of urine, the beds were so uncomfortable and felt every spring. No AC and we had to open the window, but it was so loud outside with the music going until past midnight.
Alleen de locatie. Aan zee en het uitzicht.
Alles!
Central Location
Slight misunderstanding by the organisers of the Ska weekend regarding access to the event As hotel residents it clearly stated that we where entitled to attend but they refused entry and said we had to pay extra Wasn’t the money more the principle so we went elsewhere Their loss
The beds and room were comfortable and clean
The room and beds
Everything ok apart from the room
We stayed in room 105 it was very damp and my quilt was very damp. Was only there for 1 night so didn't complain
Absolutely NOTHING
Booked and paid for a Double Premier Room at £129.00 for 29th August 2026. Before arrival, I tried twice by email to Britannia Hotels, once by email to the Grand Burstin, and by phone over three days, to check blue badge parking and whether the Executive rooms had a balcony. I received no response through any of these channels. On arrival we were given room 0904. This was not a double room. It contained two single beds pushed together, and they were not even standard single size. I was not expecting luxury, but the room was basic to the point of being unacceptable for what was booked and paid for. More seriously, the electrical control box in the lift was being held to the wall with gaffer tape rather than properly secured, an exposed unit left in that state is a fire risk and a genuine safety hazard. We left after only 22 minutes, handed our key cards back at reception, and explained why. We were left completely out of pocket for a room we could not stay in, plus the cost of a wasted round trip to Folkestone. Two weeks after formally raising this complaint, I have still had no reply of any kind.
Very nice location, the hotel is outdated but perfect for our stay. The room was standard and clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast was standard British "continental" which we enjoyed before our trip through the tunnel. Also that the hotel is "pet friendly" as we brought our Golden Retriever with us.
What can I say, the hotel is old but didn't bother us
Great location
The people and the entertainment wasn’t available on the 2nd day
Rooms was nice. Location is excellent. Staff very good
When booked didn't say there was a private function in the ball room all weekend. It was very busy.
I had stayed at the hotel before. Charming place. Traditionally British.
When I entered the hotel room there was another guest in it! Borh us us were rather surprised. Eventually I got another room.
Location and friendly
No hot water for shower or washing
Great location stayed lots of times
Always a problem parking not enough spaces
Room was fresh & clean.
The pool & health suite was shut...my Grandkids were looking forward yo a swim.
The location
The hotel is so out of date and are bath was dirty with hair and like mud in it? And it had a horrible smell to it won’t stay again

Location
People smoking weed by the hotel entrance in the nights my clothes stunk, we found a disable parking space when we got there but were told we had to move and ended up paying £22 pound to park Friday night and £29.50 on the sat the hotel did refund us £44 and charged the event that was going on the expenses back, cuing at the bar was terrible and no lock on balcony door just a chain which someone could have easily put their hand in and unhook chain not a very nice smell in the hallways and bedroom! One teabag and two milk on arrival in our room and cold do with a good pain in hallways and bedroom also curtains all hanging down!
Location
Lift broken. Rubbish around hotel
Fair for price
Quality
Location, cleanliness and value for money
There was no hot water in the shower.
The waiter in the restaurnt cant remember his name was exceptional friendly and went above and beyond
The shower mixer tap did up stau on shower Paid for twin beds premium but it wasnt a twin
Location is their advantage
Old property with bad smells around, giving the keys even their room was not ready to be occupied, my goodness they allow other than guest to park with nominal fee which made their parking so crowded that guest doesn’t even get parking, then you need to shell out expensive parking which doesn’t makes anu sense to in budget hotel like this , breakfast was even worst with very poorly managed and unhygienic cutlery . Despite complaining on parking they promised their manger will connect with me but no response. They

Stinks
For the price it was perfect for a one night stay
The location was brilliant
That it was open and a receptionist at almost midnight. The breakfast.
Paying to park my motorbike when its not in a secure gated location. Being told the bar is open but its closed by the time I come back downstairs 5mins later (tell me its about to close so I can get a drink now!) Getting there.. almost every way in was closed with nonsensical and contradicting diversion signs (not hotels fault, obvs, but could say so and give a clear direction in on their page.) No local eateries/takeaways.
The location
The rooms smelt like damp stale and wet dogs. Extremely noisy. Got there after a long day drive with 5 kids, checked in at 9pm, 6am the fire alarms went off woke everyone up for the day. Hotel is aimed at 65 and over by the looks of it when we had breakfast. Which was also bad but the price you can see why.
Here for a function, a great budget hotel.
The room was clean and tidy. The location is next to the beach which is nice. The higher the room, the better the view, as I was in one of the highest rooms, the view was great. The staff is very polite and kind.
Excellent place excellent staff excellent location
They accept pets but you do have to pay for them
It’s what I expected. Very good staff. Big place.
It could do with a lick of paint and some window cleaning
Not much
Received a Penalty Charge Notice for the hotel car park but we never parked there. We only passed through looking for a space and there were none available. Several cars were parked obstructively. Blatant opportunism by Parkingeye, the company that runs the car park, issuing us with a PCN for simply passing through a congested parking area. Staff also gave us the key to the wrong hotel room. This is particularly concerning given all of the negative publicity currently surrounding Travel lodge regarding poor hotel security measures.
Just right for te tunnel
Great location . Clean rooms. Staff very helpful. Good value for money.
The location was amazing, very friendly welcome, Good atmosphere and not a bad breakfast!!
The hotel is a little tired in places.
Not a lot to like
The bed was the most awful thing the room stinks into cash at all ridiculous ! Food was terrible
Loved the views. Loved the shower . Folkestone is a pretty place and clean.
Beds not as comfortable, toilet seat didn't fit . Music far too loud and went on till midnight.
Location and entertainment. Bingo, quiz and show was good. Bar is good. Location is great
Mattress was extremely uncomfortable and we upgraded to a deluxe room (not sure what was deluxe!) Shower wouldn’t heat up so had to have a freezing cold one.
fantastic view from our 3rd floor window and comfortable bed.
only 2 tea bags in the room.
You get what you pay for at the hotel. Its a huge hotel to maintain so in places it was looking a little tired. Our room was great, overlooking the sea, bathroom was a little outdated and shower was temperamental, but got their in the end. Breakfast was ok but only had one coffee machine working between over a 100 guests at a time. Entertainment was superb and location could not be better
More than one coffee machine would have been a bonue at breakfast and it was a shame you could not fully open your bedroom window as it would have been nice to take photos of the view rather than having to take through a dirty window
The bar staff Steve and Emma were very helpful.
I requested a fridge for my mum who is 82 for her meds. I was told they would bring 1 up they never did, this went on 2 more times and it never showed. I have stayed in The Burstin 17 times now. I was there in COVID when I was a CPO and my late sister was a nurse. New years Eve with my family. Never had a bad report. I feel very let down on this visit. I was due to have my 60th birthday there on the 3rd October but I'm rethinking it. We had 2 rooms and we had to pay £30 a room to look at the harbour I have never paid for that before.
Excellent value for what we paid large room great view . Hotel Excellent location breakfast and menu in bar good value. Love the entertainment something for everyone.
Outside area could be cleaned regularly also musty smell in corridors and our room.
Location was excellent. Breakfast was good. Selection of hot and cold foods available.
Ceilings! Old white polystyrene type tiles that had seen much better days. Toilet in our room wouldn’t flush. Pillow hard & uncomfortable.
The price was ok and location.
We were told there was onsite parking and even called to confirm but staff were not helpful. No parking available and paid £23 for a private carpark.
