Nothing really. It wasn’t well presented and very run down for a 4* hotel. Breakfast was decent but that’s about it.

Our room was extremely run down, holes in the floor, broken coffee table, paint falling off the walls, marks everywhere and paint splattered on curtains. Just really bad.

The hotel is shabby and not very clean. It is overpriced and overrated. We paid £177.00 for a suite and although large was poor and smelt musky.

Seul petit détail : il faisait chaud et nous ne pouvions pas ouvrir la fenêtre car l'accès au balcon était interdit (et avec le chat, impossible de laisser ouvert sans surveillance - si vous venez sans animaux aucun souci)

De kamervloer was voorzien van hevige kuilen en krakende vloerdelen. Lag centimeters dik tapijt overheen.

Schön gelegen, sauber mit gutem Restaurant. Fahrräder konnten untergebracht werden.

Trotz 18° Celsius Außentemperatur war es im Zimmer extrem warm. Die Wärme war nicht regulierbar, vermutlich ein technisches Problem. Erst mehrere Stunden Lüften brachten eine Temperatur bei der das Zimmer brauchbar war. Das Personal reagierte sehr routiniert auf die Kritik, so dass ich vermute es handelt sich um einen bekannten baulichen Mangel, der einfach hingenommen wird.

The woman at reception on checking out on Sunday morning. Unlike all the exceptionally good and helpful staff I encountered during my stay, unfortunately her attitude was suboptimal, derogatory even. She needs to learn how best to interact with people or take a back office role.

I couldn't open my windows, which weren't particularly clean, which I really like to do when overlooking the sea, both for the sound of the sea especially at night and to take photos. Plus the 'aircon' was a fan rather than the.aircon claimed

We enjoyed the breakfast — good quality and well presented — and the bed was comfortable. The tea and coffee tray came with a biscoff, which was a nice touch. The wi-fi was ok and of the password rather than register type. The shower was passable, if a little weak. The room had a large window with a pleasant view over Clifton Gardens, and the balcony looked inviting on a warm day, although it was unusable due to a safety warning. Wine and cocktails were OK.

Unfortunately, the rest of the stay didn’t justify the price. We originally booked a non‑cancellable rate at £122 for one night with breakfast. Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to change dates twice, and in the end paid roughly £100 more than the original booking. Having stayed at the nearby Burlington — including the night before — for around 20% less, we were disappointed. The room felt tired and poorly thought‑out. Carpets were a bit icky and clearly needed a clean. There were no nets on the large window, which meant that for any kind of daytime or evening privacy you had to close the curtains completely leaving the room feeling shut‑in or open them fully and be completely on display. Even half‑nets would have solved this. The wardrobe doors opened directly against the bed, leaving no space to pass. The safe was too small even for an 11" tablet and the electronic lock didn’t work. The sink was tiny, with a shelf immediately above it, meaning you hit your head while brushing your teeth while hand washing was awkward. Only one hook for hanging anything. The window had to be propped open with a piece of wood left there for the purpose. The TV looked like it had been fitted into its surround by a gorilla. Although breakfast was good, the tapas we had in the evening were straight out of a packet and into an air‑oven. Overall, the room felt shoddy and not at all in line with the price we ended up paying. Perhaps we were unlucky and this is their worst room, although the shortcomings to me seem systematic and likely not particular to the room.

The situation was very nice. With sea views. Not far from the Eurotunnel. Breakfast was very good. The rooms were spacious and large. Which was very pleasant with our dog.

We had an extra bed for our daughter. It was very uncomfortable and well-rounded. She couldn't sleep well. The room was very warm. The windows were open, but there was little air.

Wir bekamen ein kostenloses Upgrade, ein riesiges Premium-Zimmer mit Meerblick. Genial. Der Kollege an der Rezeption gab uns dann noch ein paar Tipps für einen kurzen Spaziergang an den Leas (der Promenade) von Folkstone. Das Abendessen im Hotelrestaurant Cliff war gut, auch hinsichtlich Preis-/Leistung. Ebenso gab es ein gutes Frühstück mit verschiedenen Optionen (Müsli, Obst, Eier, Bacon, Käse usw.). Beim Parken hatten wir Glück, wir fanden einen Platz direkt vor der Eingangstür. 9 Pfund pro Nacht sind da absolut angemessen.

In den Korridoren wäre eine Renovierung nötig.

Staff were lovely. I had mistakenly booked the wrong night at hotel and without any fuss the room was rebooked for the correct date. English and continental breakfast to choose from. Location r8fht on the sea front.

The window in room would not say closed and strong winds opened it in the night, a touch drafty! No plug near mirror.

The room smelt damp, the family room was dreadful, a camp bed for one of the children which was more for a 2 year old, the bed/ setee was uncomfortable and the room was uncomfortably hot 1 small fan between 4. The windows wouldn’t open. Horrible experience

Direkt an der Strandpromenade und gleichzeitig in ca. 12 Minuten am Tunnel Terminal. Das Haus ist ein renoviertes viktorianisches Gebäude, alles recht modern, trotzdem stimmig. Die Zimmer, die wir hatten waren, wie angekündigt, eher klein, aber alles extrem sauber, inklusive einem hübschen Bad, ebenfalls neu renoviert. Praktisch am Abend war das angeschlossene Restaurant, in dem wir als Familie ein angenehmes und entspanntes Abendessen genossen. Wir können das Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen und werden nächstes Mal in Folkstone sicher wieder dort nächtigen.

Lage, Restaurant, Frühstück sind wunderbar

Parken etwas schwierig, weil man erst mit Einchecken im Hotel ein Parkticket kauft und dann in einem bestimmten Bereich parken kann. Wir waren dieses Mal zwar in einem großzügigem Apartment untergebracht, was für 3 Personen super ist ABER im Keller untergebracht - das heißt man verpasst natürlich die schöne Aussicht von dort. Also sollte man vor der Buchung beachten, dass die Apartments im Untergeschoss sind.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. My husband left his wallet in a taxi and the hotel were calling the taxi company to check if the driver had found it for us.

Would have liked better description of parking. However we were able to park in the side road which was free after 6 and we left at 6 so had no issues with having to pay for parking.

das Appartment ist im Untergeschoss zwischen Küche und anderen Wirtschaftsräumen - man hört jeden Schritt vom Personal! das Appartment selbst ist toll, aber im Untergeschoss und mit Blick auf die Kellerwand nicht zu bewohnen. Ich habe es nicht genutzt, weil ich stattdessen ein Zimmer unter dem Dach genommen habe. Hier hat das Wasser aus der Klimaanlage die ganze Nacht draußen auf das Fensterbrett getropft. Ich bin nur eine Nacht geblieben und bitte um Erstattung.

We had a beautiful room, but couldn’t open one of the windows - it was very hot at night. Also, a little TLC needed in places. The bath was a bit wobbly, and there was rust showing through the plaster in places.

Leider gibt es in den Zimmern in den unteren Etagen keine Klimaanlagen. Nur im Dachgeschoss. Das müsste noch irgendwie geändert werden. Dann wäre es ein fast perfektes Hotel.

Generally ok, good location, but missing some basics in the rooms (no fridge or aircon) and in dire need of maintenance. View is the only reason to upgrade to Junior Suite, I wouldn’t bother again. Staff good, breakfast good.

This was a trip for two to Folkestone and my mum and I really enjoyed our experience at the view hotel. Our room had a lovely view of the Leas, cooked breakfast was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful and the cost small room was decent for two people, really tidy and clean. I would reccomend this hotel if you want a good base for getting in and around Folkestone-particularly the harbour area. The beds are comfortable and rooms are fully air conditioned which helped with the hot weather! I would say I wish there was a water dispenser somewhere in the hotel but staff were very helpful with refilling water bottles when needed.

Das Hotel hat eine sehr schöne, zentrale Lage direkt an der Promenade. Das Personal war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer war sauber und das Frühstück hatte viel Auswahl.

Es war nicht ganz einfach, einen Parkplatz in der Nähe zu finden. Allerdings sind wir auch an einem Samstagnachmittag in den Ferien angekommen.

Was very hot inside the room. It could be more better if you have more air cooling facility or AC. Didn’t like one of the front office staff behaviour while i was checked in. Wasn’t too helpful . Parking charges is too high and wasn’t easy to park late night coz all the spaces was full.

Stylish area of large houses on Victorian promenade. Pleasant view over the coast and access to beach. Staff were friendly and courteous. Our room on top floor had air conditioning which was a blessing in 30c heat.

Parking could have been an issue but we luckily parked easily in adjacent street when another car moved off. As we had our dog with us we had to eat in the bar, which was ok. Food was not very inspiring - I had a burger which lacked flavour; my wife had sea bass. Plain boiled potatoes could have been improved by partly mashing with a little butter and some fresh parsley.

Excellent location for eurotunnel. Good parking. Catered well for dogs. Vets very close.

I used Google to locate the best hotels with views, and air-conditioning rooms. I should have paid more attention when actually booking as the room had zero Aircon. I had to get reception to help with opening the windows in the room (it was very warm) as they are very heavy, and it took both of us to do it. Had a fan in the room, this helped a little. We had to shut the windows though because down on the beach front somewhere was a cafe that has a licence to play music till late! I have never heard something so loud in my life, considering the distance, it was booming through the building. Personally, I have stayed at better accommodation, a lot less cost, plus with breakfast. This being £200 is a little excessive just for a room that has no air conditioning, no breakfast included. Plus we had 2 bottles of water that were Luke warm when we arrived.

I would say the room was pretty decently sized. The bathroom that was with it was pretty good. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating, even providing a fan in the hot weather. With its location, you can enjoy a bit of music from the outside bandstand area and not too long of a walk to the beach.

It is a little bit away from the shops but there is a bus service not too far away that you can take. Being aware is a bit of a maze to try and find your room but not too of a problem. There isn't any AC available but with open windows and a fan, it's fine.

The location across the ocean and easy access to the beach. Breakfast was ok and the lady in charge of breakfast service was super efficient and friendly even though it was very busy. The main bed was comfortable. Spacious clean family room.

Reception service and attitude could be better. We arrived 8 minutes “early” for check-in and we were told to wait for those 8 minutes . There was nobody else waiting at reception except for us :/ On check-out day we asked if could check-out a COUPLE of minutes later and we were told that ONE minute after regular check-out time would be charged by the hour. The fold-out bed for children was impossible to sleep in because the mattress was so thin and the springs were felt by every movement. Our 8-year old couldn’t sleep very well.
