Location was good
Room small and cramped. No drinks etc to
Lovely room with a great view & a convenient location for local bars & restaurants.
Parking was additional & no breakfast was included (both mentioned on the listing but worth noting given the relatively high cost of the accommodation). Some bottled water would have been appreciated.
Good location only 10 mins from centre
Said free toiletries but only a small bar of soap so had to go buy some
Alles was wel schoon en netjes
Kamers zeer klein, parkeren groot proleem, geen faciliteiten , zoals drankje en ontbijt.
The room was beautifully clean and the view was stunning. The customer service and check in details were excellent and made the process very easy.
The shower was either scorching hot or freezing cold and the shower screen leaks so the whole bathroom floor became a puddle. The TV didn’t work and the bed was far too soft.
The view
Although the room was clean, no toiletries other than a small soap was available and quite basic for the money charged
Hotel con el encanto y muy buenas vistas
Una pena que no sirvan desayunos. El salón y las vistas invitan a quedarse.
This hotel (well hotels as it is 2 buildings a few doors apart from each other) has wonderful views of Ramsgate Harbour. All rooms were decorated nicely, very interesting art work in the hotels and very clean in each room. There is generally enough parking outside the hotel and you are very close to the centre of the town whilst enjoying these amazing views. If you are looking for a funky place to stay for a night or just using your room to sleep then this is good for that. Nice chap greets you.
I wanted rooms close together and sent a message of such when booking in about April this year. I also rang and left a message (on an American answerphone system) about a week before our visit, to mention again my mother's lack of mobility (she is 89) and rooms being close together. I did not get any response to the call, but did receive a text message on arrival day which was pretty much these are your rooms as you booked them. Unfortunately, it was not how I thought I had booked them as I was told one room, mine, was in a separate building, that I was totally unaware even existed. It was not apparent when booking. I was under the impression my son was on the top floor, I was on the second and my mother on the first. My son and my mother were on those floors but I was in the building 3 doors away, I was told this was what I booked and so that was how it would be. It was not worth arguing - we were only there a night. My room was good, but my mother's was tiny as was my son's. They have increased the number of bedrooms by decreasing the majority of room sizes by half (we went a long time ago and I thought all balcony rooms would be large - my poor Mum was not pleasantly surprised as I hoped she would be). The decor is good though. There were no drinking facilities in my hotel and only tea and coffee available at the main hotel on the ground floor. In fact this was the only communal space to relax away from your room, my part of the hotel had none. It is indeed a 2 star hotel in that you get your, brightly decorated, clean room and that is it apart from soap in the bathroom. I would have been so pleased to see they stretched to a bottle of water in each room as it is essential at night to drink water. Nice chap greeted us.
Location
The hotel was not an hotel just an upclassed guest house. We was moved from the hotel to a house this was a low class guest house . The room was very tiny the bed so small and uncomfortable , we also checked out a day early because it was that bad .
Quirkey character style property. Walking distance to the main areas of Ramsgate.
Not really a hotel. More of a guest house. No staff available during the evening- communication is encouraged via WhatsApp. No lift for a 3 storey property only several flights of incredibly steep and narrow stairs which means several trips if you have baggage. A very cheap, thin and uncomfortable mattress resulted in a terrible nights sleep and sore back the following morning. Over priced when considering the lack of facilities, staff and attention to the most aspect of a hotel room.
Well situated for access to the harbour and sea front.
Steps will be a challenge for those less able
The location is good
No service from staff, room extremely tiny
Love the decor and uniqueness of the place. The room was very comfortable and staff are friendly.
We were at the top so there were a lot of stairs, but this can't be helped with large Georgian townhouse
It was a beautiful property. Very well situated. The bedroom was very clean with a lovely view over the harbour and the bed was very comfy. We loved all the rooms downstairs too, especially the games room. Everything was so full of character. Richard was very accommodating and kind.
There was nothing to dislike about the property - it was gorgeous.
nothing, only the view from a £200 a night room
No reception the place was a big house not a hotel , the door was not opened till 4 pm after booking in there was nobody n reception , no water , shampoo, tissues, tiny 2ml body wash and soap the size of £2 piece , no bar for evening only silly games on tables ? no fridge very poor it should have been no more than £100 on leaving you left keys in basket , you had your own front door key, might have stayed at home in my own comfort , WHO on earth put this place on your site ?????it
the view the cleaning lady was amazing the game room
the 2nd day there wasn't room service at all. the spare chair was quite unconformable. there was no reception service, and when we asked for toilet paper was quite rude. we left the luggage at the hotel in a back door of the hotel, but they said they will not be responsible in any shape or form for it.
The only positive was the location to eateries, pubs and the harbour.
Grubby room with tired mis matched furniture and decor Poor cleaning Very uncomfortable beds/ mattress and tired bedding, the duvet cover was not even buttoned at the bottom when we looked. Non existent customer service Room not serviced while there No staff available most times No breakfast or bar despite some google sites suggesting there was
The building and the decor. The owner’s art collection is very interesting. The building is beautiful. There really was sea view from the room exactly as advertise. There was a lounge set up with chess and backgammon tables which I thought was very thoughtful. The whole place is very tasteful.
The mattress was way too soft. The double bed was too small. We are tall and big. A little too expensive.
Close to sea front
Rooms to small and hot Funky smell in bathroom and bedroom Booked for 2 nights only ended up staying 1
Nice location
Top floor stairs very steep Was really a hot room no air conditioning asked for another fan which I never got.
Beautiful location overlooking the sea.

Location and views
The location
The rooms looked nothing like the photos and the walls were VERY thin! The bed was very uncomfortable
position
too hot no coolin parking difficult
The room was very small and it really doesn't offer much if you need a drink etc. It cost me over £300 for 2 nights and didn't feel that it was worth the money I paid
Loved it
Always cleaned
A bit small
What you see is what you get. Nice, bit old fashioned hotel for a sharp price.
The location, the view, the staff was amazing.
The size of the room was very small
accueil - magnifique hôtel avec salons et déco - parking gratuit la nuit - proche restaurants et marina - grand supermarché en voiture à 10 mn
en journée, parking payant limité à 2h
Welcoming staff, cosy decor, and a comfortable bed
The bathroom sink was cracked, the shower leaked and had limescale, there was hand soap but no other shower amenities or a hand towel. The room was quite warm and there is no air con, although we were given a good fan.
Beautiful views , we had sea view with balcony Bed super comfy Bedding so soft Clean and spotless Second time staying in 2 weeks Looking to book again
The decor of the hotel and closeness to the beach
One room was not as described (smaller than advertised, was giving a small double room when I purchased a large double room), also there was an issue with shower, and once these issues were reported to the manager, he was not understanding not apologetic. TV was not clean. Staff member onsite was nice. No reimbursement offered. Would not visit again.
The downstairs lounge area with games and a snug area felt very homely, also enjoyed the outside space- rooms were decent size with a nice view
The location and view was lovely
The room could of done with being cleaner as we had massive cobwebs the tv didnt work and the shower leaked i personally don't think it was worth 170 pound for one night
We liked the location close to the harbour and the view .
The room was so small that it was barely possible to move around the bed to get to the bathroom. Larger person wouldn't have managed it. There was no space even for a chair. The hotel staff did not respond to our telephone calls nor replied back to ask what we needed. Our calls were simply disconnected. The "hotel" featured a lounge on the ground floor, illuminated and visible from outside for passers- by but unaccessible to us, guests. We didnt get a code to access it. In the evening there was no place to go and read a book in comfort. Instead we had to sit on the bed in our tiniest of rooms. This particular room, No.29, should have been furnished for a single traveller and not for a couple. Provided toiletries consisted of 2 small soaps - not even a shampoo. Lugging a suitcase to the 4th floor (no lift) would not suit an older guest either.
The Bed
It was like an air band b and should have cost no more than £75 per night my room was 34 steps and ime 75 years old and the parking was disgusting no one would go back fir a second time the name and address fools everyone
A wonderful boutique hotel. If you like art, books and maps, then this is the place for you. A lot of thought has gone into creating a charming hotel that feels like a home. If you've ever visited Dennis Sever's 18 Folgate Street, London E1, then we think you'll enjoy a stay here. Spotless room with a comfy bed and a super view over the harbour.
Lovely view of the harbour from my room. Central location.
No lift in the property so bit of a climb up to the third floor.
Easy and swift check in with a very helpful and welcoming individual on arrival. My room was small but had an incredible view across Ramsgate harbour. The property is brimming with character and the history of the property is accentuated with appropriate decor.
Room was extremely small with no ventilation on a hot summers day, other than through an old sash window.
A beautifully decorated hotel full of paintings and character. Room was bigger than anticipated and the communal areas although we did not use looked lovely. Good location right on the harbour and quiet with nearby free street parking.
Would've maybe appreciated some fresh milk even if it was just in the communal area. There was a lot of stairs so I wouldn't call accessible but was no issue for us!
Location, cleanliness, collection of books
The shower barely functioned: the side shower had no pressure and the main shower had insufficient pressure to wash my hair properly. The kettle appeared heavily overdue for descaling. I was also disappointed with the staff’s response when I raised the shower issue. My room was in a separate building with no access to the main lounge or garden, despite paying the same rate for the same room category as my friend staying in the main building. This difference was not made clear when booking.
Everything
Loved my harbour view and the beautifully decorated common areas!
Could have done with a fan in the room.
Room with a beautiful harbour view
let down by being incredibly hot and stuffy, and with no fan. I had no sleep and even considered sleeping in the communal rooms close to reception.
Great location directly opposite the harbour even though we did not have a room with a view. Beautiful buildings. Room was basic but clean & nicely decorated. Nice large bath towel provided.
No water provided. No fridge. Room was warm & the quilt on the bed was the only cover offered. There was a fan & the window could open but would have been nice to have a lighter cover. No hand towel.
Beautiful Room and sea view 😍
Wasn't able to stay longer!
Nice location
Would have the ground floor
We can’t wait to return , such a beautiful and quirky interior, our bed was so comfortable and the duvet was lush, situated in a perfect spot, just a few minutes walk into the harbour area , we were welcomed to the hotel by a lovely gentleman, who showed us around , thank you .
There was nothing about the hotel we did not like , local parking was a little challenging ,but that’s not the hotels fault and can be the same anywhere you go these days
Beautifully kept, very clean & welcoming
The only thing were the stairs up to our room other than that it was perfect
The location
Rooms extremely small and not at all like the pictures. Lots of stairs. Balcony needs attention and just enough room for 2 small chairs. Walls paper thin so can hear everything from other rooms Pubic hairs in shower and toilet needed to be flushed
Great location, comfy beds, clean bedlinen.I had a very good sleep
The shower was impossible to regulate; the tea kettle was dirty/1000 years old, there was no alternative to a very heavy duvet which was too hot. Overall quite dated - does not bother me so much, but I know many people who will not like that
Beautifully decorated hotel in a fantastic location. Our stay was very comfortable and peaceful. We've stayed here twice already and would definitely stay here again.
Nothing
Everything
Extremely comfortable bed, great sea view, beautiful and eclectic space.
Very slow draining shower and the door didn’t lock.
Location was perfect. I kind of liked the quikiness of the place. Bed was comfortable.
I never saw a single member of staff. It was like it was a self-service place. Felt like they have cut costs to a minimum. Very expensive for what it is. It's functional but I expect a bit more than that when paying £150+ for a night.
The sea views, comfy bed and pillows, size of room , it’s like staying at a relative’s place.
The hotel doesn’t have breakfast as an option and it’s limited spaces to pay for parking spaces at the hotel or pay for street parking in peak times. Plus the television kept losing reception. A lot of street noise ( traffic, people etc).
Nice room with a great view of the harbour. No room service or breakfast but plenty of cafes and bars nearby.
Lovely stay having come from Eurotunnel. Superb Harbour View . Room was petite but well appointed with all facilities.
nice and clean. Beautiful decor in the building and the bed was comfortable.
Good location, clean linen.
The front door was locked on arrival and there were other people who were waiting outside. We had to contact someone to come out and do the check in. There was no clear instructions about checking in process.
Not a lot.. this should not be classed as a hotel as it is offers no services at all… It is more like an Airbnb and a poor one at that … the room/bathroom shown on the web site has been photographed with a fish eye lens camera making appear much larger than it is in reality… there was a tiny cupboard to hang a few items but no where else to keep any thing.. your case has to be stored under the bed… I am not so big but if you were someone a little large then forget this location… also they have a really odd way of dealing with customers to the point of being rather arrogant.. this conversation only happens through a speaker system as nobody is at hand during the day .. so again I will repeat… this is not a Hotel .
All of it
Nothing, overpriced
Everything
Quirky relaxed and comfortable. Loved all thee art work and the books everywhere. Great view from my room of the busy harbour. Also very convenient to where I needed to get to
I would have liked an extra towel and a spare sheet as it was very hot - too hot for the duvet
Room was clean, large shower area
Was told when arrived it was ground floor but had to walk 2 flights of stairs, also said garden view.... ok if you like looking at sheds not very nice to look at wasn't really a garden. Had a winter quilt on bed (not good on a hot weekend) unable to open windows fully, room was a bit small for my liking. Wasn't worth the money I paid
Location very good - interesting decor- old lovely building - bed very comfortable
Would have been nice to check out at 11am instead of 10am but not a massive issue
I booked a junior suite . The room was clean the bed was comfy. The room is in the front so there is constant road noise the curtains don't block the sunlight out. There are no facilities in the room no bottled water and no where to buy one on site . No bathroom toiletries supplied other than a piece of soap as I spent 150 pounds for the night stay I am very disappointed.
The bed was really comfy. Nice bright single bed room. Harbour view. Nice decor with quirky artwork.
View was great. Bed comfortable and showed great.
No welcome by manager had to put luggage around the back of property, instead of just letting us leave it before checking in at 4pm. No toiletries, no water, hairdryer, biscuits . Tv was rubbish signal too.
the common areas were nice
the room was a bit spartan
Great view and location, clean
Room very small on top floor, five flights up. No hand towel or toiletries aside from tiny piece of soap. 4pm check in
Location OK. oom had a harbour view
Stairs, heat (no facilities)
La ubicación es muy cerca del central y hay acceso fácil a lugares para comer, bebe y la playa. El edificio es pequeño pero con mucha historia en sus paredes
Habían piezas de pelo de alguien diferente, y fue caluroso.
Nice property bit quirky. Good position
Room exceptionally small more like a cupboard. No toiletries supplied no staff to ask. Toiletries were on the list but not even a bar of soap. Room was single size with a double bed which took up the whole of the room. Very cramped. Okay for one night but no more than that could not regulate the shower which was scalding hot so couldn’t use. No staff around to ask. Expensive for what it was.
The view, the bed linen and towels were exceptional as was the duvet. Fantastic balcony doors wide open all night. Car park is bad but plenty on road parking It was a little overpriced but heyho. Downstairs it was like stepping back in time 100 years,I loved it
Carpark,price .
the location was great
i paid more for a room with 2 single beds but we got a room so small with no ventilation & was it very uncomfortable
The view. The room was comfortable. The paintings on the walls. The communal rooms.
Amazing mattress, beautiful decoration, great setting, great location
location
shower was poor ,no shower gel just soap.
The hotel is perfectly placed to access Ramsgate. It is a beautiful Georgian building overlooking the sea. It is furnished with an eclectic mix of periodic furniture and is home to a large collection of artwork which is individually identified. Our room was spacious and clean with a modern en-suite shower room. We were on the top floor overlooking the small rear garden. Lots of stairs, which we didn’t mind. There is no lift. There are not really any staff other than someone to check you in. This was our second stay, and we love the style and ambience. The location is perfect for accessing the local bars and restaurants. Breakfast is not available so it is necessary to find somewhere else, but there are many options available nearby.
On this trip the duvet provided was too hot for the overnight temperatures, and there were no other bedding options in the room.
Charming building with character and well located on the seafront.Comfortablw bed.
Should you have mobility issues this is not the hotel for you; no lift, steep narrow stairs, rope bannisters and heavy fire doors. Parking, basically there isn't any. We weren't informed by the staff about the 4 spaces at the rear, (which are charged), and also impractical. One car had parked so it occupied two spaces. There is no free parking in the nearest surrounding streets. It was all double yellow lines and very narrow. The one short strecth we did see was outside residential homes and solid for the duration of our stay. There is a secure multi-storey 5 nins walk away that is cheaper than the hotel's 4 spaces. Getting any amount of heavy luggage to the top floor is an effort. Lighting in the room wasn't great.
The views are amazing! We’ve stayed here before and never been disappointed with them. The room was very small but cosy.
1. We were disappointed to find out on arrival that the lovely lounge area with bar, binoculars and record player was no longer available to use - we have really enjoyed this on past visits. 2. I wasn’t aware breakfast was no longer available - no issue though as we had an amazing breakfast at Ship Shape cafe. 3. There were some big, brown stains on the lining of the curtains in our room - more of an FYI so you can look into.
Great location, bed very comfy, quirky and homely.
Upstairs rooms waking us up at 7am walking back and forth over and over
We loved our room and the incredible sea view.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
Ein zauberhaftes Hotel mit sehr viel Charme!
Das Bad war recht klein, aber völlig okay.
A lovely sea view overlooking the harbour. Close to pubs and restaurants. The room was clean and a very comfortable bed. Really enjoyed our 1 night stay.
Expensive parking in nelson crescent but you can park in other streets.
Excellent location, friendly staff, Nice space downstairs.
Room was extremely tight for space for the price. No toiletries in the bathroom. Balcony was only big enough for two chairs.. no table.
Convenient location. Easy entry and great assistance upon our later than planned arrival. Comfortable bed and very pleasant shower. Easy and secure entry and the guidance on parking was useful. The WhatsApp messages both before arrival in answering questions and the video assistance for entry were a nice touch.
We tend to forget how much room the dog takes up. The room was a little stuffy and could have done with a ceiling fan. Other than that, it was fine.
staff very hospitable and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Lovely clean room and bathroom and perfect location. Everything mentioned on Booking.com was accurate. would most definitely recommend.
Although curtains were drawn to keep the sun out, very considerate, there was not a fan in the room. However, if we had asked, I'm sure one would have been provided.
Location was lovely
Super hot day and no fans in the room. Top floor room and not suitable for those with mobility issue. A lot of stairs and no lift
Loved the decor and the view from the room. It was very cozy and comfortable.
Some leaks from the shower, no hand towels and toiletries (just hand soap).
Lovely room great location
Nothing
We were made feel very welcome. The setting alone was worth it — stunning views over the harbour and coastline. It’s beautifully decorated with a real sense of personality. Nothing felt generic or corporate with thoughtful artwork on the walls, books tucked into every corner, and common lounge areas. The location is excellent too, with great restaurants and cafes within minutes.
I’ll be honest: I almost didn’t book after reading some of the picky reviews on here, and that would have been a real mistake. This place is a genuine treasure.
Sea view was nice, Room clean
Tea facilities milk sour, room to small, no elevator top floor. No restraunt, A bit pricey for 1 night to stay
The room has a great view and was quite clean. But the bed was extremely cheap and uncomfortable. The bedding was too small for the bed and cheap linen. The room was tired and trying to achieve an antique look but failed due to cheap damaged furniture. There is no breakfast offered which is known when your booking. There were no toiletries offered accept two tiny soaps. I expected much more from this stay at this price point which was £190 with a dog, I wouldn’t recommend unless it was £120. Try the Falstaff around the corner nicer and cheaper.
As above
The staff were very friendly , it was clean and location was good.
The rooms were quite small and no air conditioning
It was homely.
Location room decor and very friendly staff
Parking hit and miss but paid parking not to far away
I would 100% recommend staying, there is no breakfast which I’ve seen some complaints about but there are plenty of places to get breakfasts around the area within a short distance. That wasn’t an issue for us. All the art was amazing, we felt really comfortable, the balcony was really nice, the view was beautiful. It was all worth the money and we would definitely come back.
There isn’t anything we didn’t like.
The building, decor and art were all fantastic
No facilities at all
