Great location, helpful staff.

An Old building & was a bit of a rabbit warren with lots of corridors & was easy to get lost trying to find room at first.We were at the back of hotel, not very scienic but was nice & quiet away from clubs & pubs pounding music along the seafront.

The Location was great but the room was shabby and totally lacking in style or. Corinthians, I had breakfast on one of the 2 days I. Was there I asked for a couple of fryed eggs and coffee and I what a was given was unbelievable although I was booked in. For a breakfast they were not ready for me. or any guest who wanted. Somethings to eat. Then the fire alarm went off in the hotel about 10 30 pm the guest didn't know what was going on little explanation from anyone.the night staff who was doing his best to keep the situation under control he manged to stop the terrible noise then at 6 am the fire alarm went off again waking everyone up and having to to leave the hotel standing outside in the cold again no explanation later in the morning I asked a member of the staff why the alarm went off twice he give me a cock and bull story by saying. Someone might have been smoking in one of the rooms I think looks suspiciously like some kind of fuilty wiring I would never go back there again

The room was tatty and dirty. The window had to be shut and the curtains closed as it was next to a staircase that was next to the building and the public could look in to the room. It was room 201. The advertised photos were nothing like the room. At the price they charged I would expect much much better

there was lot of noise coming from the 1st floor event room

Worth knowing that the music from downstairs causes the whole building to vibrate. Music stops at 11pm but you won’t want to be in the room in the evening before then.

They great customer service, we booked a room on third floor, my had broken her foot after we booked, made our way to the room she struggled with stairs so the hotelier had room on first floor for us which was so much appreciated like say abig thank you

If had one grape we didn't stay long enough, but we didn't get chance say goodbye

I liked everything. The staff were really welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They kept my luggage as my train was late in the evening. Beds and towels were really clean though the towels were a bit frayed 😂. All in all I had a lovely stay and would recommend.

It’s great for the central position. We had a view of the harbour!

It’s being renovated. The standards were not high just adequate. The room wasn’t ready for over an hour . Whilst plugging something in I found dusty sweet wrapping under the bedside table The room was ‘wiped’ over not clean eg smears on mirrors The bathroom needed a deep clean especially the smeared shower glass I’m Sure that those problems will be ironed out once renovation is over and they arnt cleaning up that mess as well. Lovely people just needs a few areas upgrade

The Guy on Reception upgraded our room to a Family Room instead of a twin room.

The Room was not clean, the skirtings etc were dirty. One window had a broken brass piece, it was sitting on the window sill. In the Bathroom the toilet felt like you were going to go through the ceiling when you sat on it. The shower had no bottom seal to it to stop the water going on the floor so the floor got very wet, slip hazard. It was dated and dirty. I know that it has new ownership and I respect it is probably a lot to take on but it could have been cleaner.

We'd booked a deluxe room and it was spacious, clean, comfortably furnished with a very good view of the harbour. The staff were all lovely, polite and friendly. There's a fair amount of nightlife with live music and people enjoying themselves but it didn't disturb us or keep us awake at night at all. There are lots of things in Ramsgate to do and see, we hadn't been there in a long while so it was a rediscovery with other places to visit not too far away. We enjoyed our time there and would definitely be happy to stay there again.

The rooms and hotel are dingy and dirty. We didn’t want to stay in our room. Paid £20 for an upgrade and the other room was bigger but still bad. Bathroom light didn’t work, room carpet was filthy, hallway smelt of old cigarettes and was rundown. The shower screen in the bathroom was broken so when you showered the room flooded. Had a general feel of run down and grubby.

The carpet in room was wet and stank, the bathroom door wouldnt close, only 2 plug sockets under tv none by bed, no fan supplied even though it was 34 degrees. Staff non existant. Towels in bathroom all frayed and old. The people we did manage to speak to were foreign and didnt understand us. Shame because its a lovely old building and has great potential, but needs total refurb and bringing up to standard. Wasnt worth the price i was charged for it.

The hotel is conveniently located on the quayside, close to all the local shops, bars and restaurants. Good value for money, the rooms are a decent size and come with everything you would expect.

No lift, lots of steep stairs. Room was clean but faced horrible 'court yard' with plastic xmas tree, fake grass and air conditioning ducts. Horrible view and airless. Several things needed mending in the room which I think is inexcusable even at 2 star. That said, we enjoyed our stay and it was cheap and pleasant.

We loved everything – it’s in a great location, we were made to feel very welcome, and I was really pleased that they fulfilled my request for a bottle of champagne, which was absolutely delicious. It was literally a bed for the night and if i say that i dont mean it in a good way it was fithy dirty in every room, the breakfast was awful so i liked nothing about the royal oak hotel im not a fussy sort of person either but this was something else i also have a 3 year old boy and a 60 year old mother and they decide to put us on the 4th floor in a room thats not even marked out or numbered because it was actually someone elses flat from before with loads of old food in the cupboards and in the fridge it was very bad service provided.

Everything as i say it was overall in every aspect disgustingly poor.

There was extremely loud music until 3/4am in the morning. The room was very outdated and in need of a makeover. The water was cold always cold. No mirror above the dressing table so I couldn’t dry my hair in front of a mirror. We stayed two nights, the room wasn’t made up and no fresh towels. No blackout blinds so very light from 4am. Very disappointed with this accommodation, we wouldn’t stay there again.

There is a sea view and it’s next to most amenities (many of which were quite rough!)

The windows are impossible to open which doesn’t work in a very hot summer without aircon. So the room was incredibly stuffy. Not that you’d want to open the windows, as they are just about a club that blasts music until 2 or 3am. It’s loud and the base gets into the room. When we arrived there was a donut from the previous guest who stayed in the room and ants all over it.

The room we were originally given had not been cleaned, so we had to be moved... The new room door latch was faulty, but workable. We felt our patience was being tested, then discovered there was NO HOT WATER(!) for a shower – and when we reported it, the staff said they knew (just hadn't mentioned it), and were "trying to get it fixed". It was not fixed by the time we left. £185 for two nights is just wildly overpriced; we were not offered any kind of refund or compensation for a very basic failure. Freezing cold showers after spending time on the beach/ in the sea is really a horrible experience! (Music from local bars goes on until 2am, which we were fine with honestly but may disturb other travellers)

It was very hot in the room only one window opens fans didn’t really help much, there was only two milks for the tea and coffees, our bed and room wasn’t changed the next day and never any staff around to ask, nearly every draw had stuff left in it such a shame as we have stayed in this room numerous times and have never had any complaints also the toilet seat was loose

Pleasant room overlooking the harbour. Comfortable bed. Good hanging space with some hangers. Wifi worked well. The family who own/manage the hotel are helpful and pleasant.

Although location was good in that it is right next to the picturesque harbour, it is also right next door to an extremely noisy bar/nightclub, which apparently is always very 'lively' at weekends. We were there on a Saturday night. Walls are also thin. After the noise downstairs died down, we were woken by people shouting outside our room. Presumably people from the party next door. Reception is odd. It is not staffed, but when you call a number, a member of staff comes quite quickly.

First room already occupied. Moved to a flat which had dishes on the draining board , not clean . No toilet roll or towels . It was as if they weren’t expecting us to.

Our room was nice, away from street noise. Very pleasant people. Breakfast was extraordinary. My child ate big portion.

The only low side was that we were allocated on 3rd floor, no lift. Apart from that I found the room really pleasant.
