Provider-sourced guest reviews.
Other reviews have mentioned the beauty of the location, the stylish design of the hotel and it's lush gardens and they are right. The reception area that greets you on arrival has a wow ! factor too, like an upmarket art gallery, with similar hushed tones and smartly dressed staff bustling about. But dont be fooled. This is a bit of a fur coat and no knickers establishment. Few of the staff speak anything but Japanese which given the international clientele, creates problems and frustration on a daily basis. The restaurants are open for short periods and are inflexible if you want anything other than the set menus offered, even at breakfast. Any request for sonething non standard results in hours of negotiations, phone calls and referrals up the chain of command. Stressful. You have to find your own way to the beach, which we did on a daily basis, to avoid the screaming kids at the pool all day long. Hoshinoya prides itself on being a sophisticated Zen like destination, with activities to help to unwind and find that peaceful place. Well it needs to make up its mind . Either it's a kindergarten or a retreat, it can't be both.
It was a great experience and on my birthday!
Lovely hotel everything positive
Ill reluctantly 5 star this place. It's very nice, pool is great and not busy, landscaping is great. The only downside is the lack of food options. Its also not very close to other dining options so youll need to cab or uber to restaurants if you dont want to eat at the resort. The spa was also great. Views are great. Sunsets are great. Staff was very nice and helpful.
Ocean visible from room. Did not try the spa.
The hotel is absolutely beautiful, set in stunning gardens. Our room was lovely, with a stunning sea view. We particularly liked the balcony, with day bed and thought the mosquito repellant provided by the hotel was a nice touch. The pool and pool area were stunning. Our challenge was the food. Breakfast was extremely limited in choice: a huge, set Japanese breakfast or a huge set take on a Sicilian breakfast. Our room had a fridge and kitchen counter, but no other equipment to satisfactorily self serve for breakfast. The lunch menu at the cafe was dreadful, both in content and quality. The grill restaurant was good, for dinner, but limited. We didn't try the other restaurant, as believe it was a set Japanese banquet, which we didn't want. It would be good to extend the buggy service to areas outside the resort. Finally, i had a spa treatment, that was excellent.
We chose this hotel for our honeymoon because we wanted comfort, relaxation, and a special experience. Sadly, what we got instead was stress, repeated problems, and a management team that refused to take proper responsibility. From the start, housekeeping was inconsistent and poorly explained. We were told that cleaning would alternate between full service and eco-friendly service every other day. In reality, they just stopped doing basic cleaning until we called about it. Even the most basic things — washing our cups, making our bed — were neglected, which has nothing to do with being “eco-friendly.” The situation got worse when our toilet broke, not once, but twice. The first time, I was unwell and forced to deal with maintenance workers in the room. The second time, after returning tired from a long day out, we had to completely repack and move rooms. This was disruptive and stressful, and it directly caused us to miss a dinner reservation and our evening plans afterwards. On our honeymoon and with limited days, this was especially upsetting as we had looked forward to our plans that day. Communication problems made everything even harder. For our diving trip, we were told by the front desk that we should book a taxi two hours early. Trusting their advice, we woke at 5am, only to arrive 1.5 hours before the shop even opened, waiting in front of closed doors unnecessarily. This kind of misinformation wasted our time and further damaged our experience. At no point were we able to have a proper conversation with any staff member, as their level of English was unfortunately far too limited. When we raised all of these issues with management we were offered small token gestures: drinks or breakfast. To make matters worse, their response came so late that we couldn’t even make use of them before we had to fly out. Offering something we couldn’t use on our last day before leaving was meaningless. What is most frustrating is that the hotel only took ownership of the language barrier, while ignoring all of the much bigger problems: the broken toilet, the missed plans, the failed housekeeping, the misinformation. To suggest that the main issue was communication is insulting given the level of disruption we experienced. This was our honeymoon, a once-in-a-lifetime trip that we looked forward to for months, and instead we spent it dealing with unnecessary stress caused by the hotel. The way management handled our complaints — brushing them off with gestures instead of taking meaningful responsibility — shows a lack of care for guests. We will not be recommending this hotel to anyone. Future guests deserve to know how poorly our stay was handled and how unwilling management was to provide proper compensation for multiple, serious failures.
服務很好,環境很好,會讓人放鬆 是渡假的好地方
While the property is pleasant, I feel that the price does not fully reflect the value offered. For instance, the minibar is not complimentary, especially the nearest supermarket is a 10-minute drive away. Providing a one-time complimentary minibar would be a thoughtful gesture to make travelers feel more valued.
Great property Air con could go cooler
The property is lovely, and the room was fantastic. Great views out to sea. Bed was comfy, but we needed extra pillows. There is two places for dinner, which you had to book. There was one problem when we booked one restaurant, but it was booked at the wrong restaurant. On our last night, the weather was bad, and in the middle of the night there was a alarm going off, and a warning in Japanese. We didnt understand it, and phoned reception which they said it was about high tide, but there's nothing to worry about. It would be good, if we had prior warnings of what may happen.
꼭 다시오고 싶은 숙소 입니다 객실도 수영장도 세심한 서비스도 다 좋았어요 울루에서 보는 석양도 너무 근사하고 돈이 아깝지 않은 숙소였어요
Perfect for relax
A true oasis in Okinawa. The room was exquisite. The view to die for. The pool was inviting and comfortable. The spa was amazing. While the dining was limited, we did enjoy the grill. Bucket list destination and deserving of a return visit
Heaven. Rooms are spacious and facing beach. Staff are great. Morning breakfast is devine. Pool suburb. You won’t to leave.
Hotel was very nice but location
A beautiful tranquil property with extremely friendly staff.
サンセットがとても綺麗でした。静かにのんびり滞在できて、このホテルにして本当に良かったです。
Iconic landmark hotel resort. The pool area is incredible, warm and soft water infinity pool. The room was comfortable, good AC, strong water pressure, quality soap and face cleanser. Bed was comfortable; was able to order extra pillow. The lighting and charging connections can be adjusted while in bed. Highly recommend a car, otherwise you will feel stuck. Your IDP needs to be within 1 year otherwise it expired. I learn the hard way. I’d suggest they offer diet Coca Cola and more refreshments by the pool. Perhaps a bit more of Western approach to sales at the pool.
非常舒適的享受
They made our stay just amazing! Will be back :)
Great hotel and great service! We had great the best of days!
The view looking outside of the room was amazing. Spacious room for family with children.
We stayed at the Hoshinoya Okinawa for five days and had a lovely time. For a Westerner, interesting to stay in a Japanese hotel catering to Japanese tastes and needs. Food was a bit complex at this hotel because reserving in advance was always required, but it wasn't difficult to do. The modern design of the place was really lovely, the Ulo Grill had excellent food and the Lounge/shop had beautifully curated things to buy from Okinawa at very reasonable prices. We really enjoyed staying and would recommend.
We had a fantastic stay here. The room was immaculate and the facilities are beautiful. The staff were all incredible and really made us feel welcome. The property itself is quite far from other amenities so I would recommend hiring a car if you plan to leave the hotel and explore.
여지껏 지냈던 숙소중 가장 좋았습니다. 아이들과 함께한 여행에서 아이들도 편하게 지낼 수 있는 환경이었으며, 청결상태도 매우 좋았습니다.
Hoshinoya Okinawa is a serene, sea-facing resort with a clean, minimalist Japanese vibe, ideal for large groups seeking a unique cultural experience. We booked two Fushi rooms for five people, which were spacious, clean, and well equipped, though the thick blankets may be uncomfortable in summer with no alternative option. Staff are helpful with bookings and local recommendations. The location is good, near attractions like Blue Cave and Yomitan Pottery Village, but a car is essential. The hotel offers unique activities and a heated pool with ample seating. However, there is no gym on the property, which is unusual for a large, luxury resort. Wi-Fi quality could be improved as it was slow. The hotel’s atmosphere is distinctively Japanese and minimalist, so don’t expect Western-style luxury. A notable downside was the misplacement of a guest’s white linen pants during housekeeping, which were not recovered. Overall, Hoshinoya Okinawa provides a peaceful, culturally immersive stay with friendly service.
The good: The hotel is architecturally beautiful with well maintained gardens The staff are sweet & speak some English but don’t ask them to help with more than 1 thing as only the last thing you asked for will be actioned. The rooms are spacious with a modern, high end bathroom & separate toilet & all of them have sea views. The pool area is lovely but there’s very few sun beds for sunbathing, the majority are covered so you either have the option of lying on the 1 4 poster lounger if free or sitting on a chair that is semi submerged in the shallow end of the pool. The hotel offers some free activities: bubble tea in the activity room - nice gesture but didn’t taste of anything. Morning stretch & evening breathing classes. Garden tours (we didn’t see anyone doing this) The not so good: We were booked on a RO basis & im glad we did as I ordered the western breakfast to my room when my husband went out scuba diving on the 1st morning & it was disappointing. Eggs & sausages are cold. There’s no butter or jam to accompany the pastries. I’m not sure why there was a cup a soup included nor a green salad. The fruit was nice. For £22 pp we decided not to bother with b’fast for the rest of our stay. We ate at Oku grill once taking their latest reservation at 7.30… they close the kitchen at 8.30. Food was average & we felt rushed to leave. We cancelled our reservation at the Italian’s as a result & ate out. There is no bar in the hotel. The lounge area by the pool has a small menu of a few drinks you can order while at the pool, it was unclear if this was available in the evening. There’s no gym. Really odd for a 5* hotel. The Wi-Fi is pitiful, we ended up having to use our eSIM data in the evenings. It worked much better after 10.30 (presumably when other guests were going to sleep) It’s worth noting that this hotel is mainly occupied by Japanese tourists which is maybe why it is the way it is. It was the 1 hotel on our trip I was most looking forward to & it just missed the mark on too many things sadly.
Beautiful location - very relaxing. The staff were excellent. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The pool was great and not too busy when we stayed. Would love to come back.
We had the most incredible stay here, the most amazing resort we’ve stayed at. From check in to check out the experience for five- star. The resort itself is beautiful, the rooms are so nicely designed and the pool area was lovely with ocean views and the pool always perfect temperature and so peaceful and tranquil. All the small touches made the stay perfect like evening music and sake, buggy rides and the spa and restaurant were fantastic. Overall the staff were what made the experience so superior, they were always professional, incredibly organised and accomodating. The only place to stay in Okinawa for total luxury.
Amazing experience. Room was fascinating and swimming pool was great. Best hotel so far.
Really amazing property. The room, the service, the common areas, everything was really well thought out. The only thing was that there were a lot of kids and sometimes the pool area was not that relaxing and chill.
Best hotel we have ever stayed in!
I wasnt sure what to expect after reading some of the negative reviews on this site and I wanted to come back and write a review after our visit to help future guests decide whether it is for them. I have seen another review on here which does a good job of explaining why it is that some people may not enjoy their time here. It really is an incredible place with the most stunning architecture, gardens, seaside, pools and people. Nothing was too much for the staff who went above and beyond our expectations. From the moment we arrived we felt like we were in an alternate universe. The food at the main restaurant is essentially Michelin star style, which some people may find too much for every evening, but there are alternatives on site which are absolutely fine. Uber works well in Japan and it is easy to reach thousands of other restaurants if you are not content with what is available. There is also an extensive in room dining menu. Our room also had a full kitchenette with microwave/oven, sink and full size fridge/freezer. The hotel is not like any other place we have been before - it is like a work of art with design behind every aspect of it. Perhaps some people find it is just too different from a conventional hotel, but we were delighted. If you are not sure, have a close read of all the reviews on here, but in my experience the good ones are most accurate. The bad ones seem to be when people have had a specific problem with their stay or booking and of course sometimes things will go wrong. Overall, we (travelling with my wife and 2 kids) would rate this 6 out of 5 if that were possible.
From the moment we arrived at Hoshinoya Okinawa, we knew we were somewhere truly special. The architecture is absolutely stunning—modern yet deeply respectful of its natural surroundings and Okinawan heritage. The lobby, with its deep blue tones and natural wood accents, immediately sets a tone of tranquility and understated elegance. We stayed in a Fushi room on the 2nd floor, and the views were nothing short of breathtaking. Every room opened up to the sea, creating a constant connection to the ocean that was both peaceful and awe-inspiring. What sets Hoshinoya apart is how beautifully it weaves in Okinawan tradition. We loved the cultural activities—from mesmerizing Ryukyu music performances to peaceful traditional tea sessions and even energetic karate demonstrations. Every experience felt authentic and thoughtfully presented. It’s hard to pick a favorite part, but the pool area is a definite highlight. The infinity edge creates the illusion of blending right into the sea—it’s the kind of place you could easily lose track of time just floating and soaking in the view. Dinner at Oku Grill is a must—not only for the refined flavors but also for the magical sunsets that light up the horizon. And for a slower pace, Banta Cafe is the perfect spot to unwind with a coffee or cocktail, surrounded by the sound of the waves. Hoshinoya Okinawa is not just a resort—it’s an experience. Peaceful, immersive, and unforgettable.
Beautiful hotel with very helpful staff. The views from our room were lovely, and the pool had a wonderful view of the ocean water temp was perfect. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying in Okinawa.
The facility is not wheel chair accessible. Entrances should have ramps for wheelchair. Bathroom needs grab bars and bath tubs should be accessible or shallow for easy access. Need elevator for upper floors if designated as accessible room.
Stunning architecture and serene gardens—but that’s where the praise ends. This hotel is rigid, overpriced, and inflexible to the point of frustration. Service feels more like following a rulebook than actual hospitality. Expect a lot of “No, we can’t, but sorry” rather than genuine solutions. This has never been our experience in all our travels around Japan. The food? Easily the worst we’ve had in Japan. Lunch options are glorified fast food—burgers, pizzas, hot dogs—with barely a trace of real Japanese cuisine. Dinner was uninspiring and overpriced. We ended up spending ¥9,000 on a taxi just to find a decent meal. Basic amenities are nonexistent. There’s no proper beach setup—you’re directed to the hotel next door if you want to swim. Want to explore by bike? You’ll need to go elsewhere for that too. The hotel’s beverage selection is extremely limited, and even bottled water costs an outrageous ¥700–¥1,000 (yes, they suggest drinking tap water instead). Despite booking months in advance, we were given a ground-floor room—the first-floor option with exceptional views? “Unavailable.” Families, take note: the barracks-style bed setup may not be ideal if traveling with kids. And here’s the kicker: the hotel incentivizes three or more-night stays but enforces a strict no-cancellation policy. Once you’re there, you either endure it or walk away from your money. We chose the loss rather than wasting two more days of our trip. If you value great food, flexibility, and true hospitality, look elsewhere.
Gorgeous grounds
It is a highly recommended place to enjoy your vacation.

after i wear the cloth hotel provided, i whole body itchy and reddness for 1 week like jnsect site. Hotel didnt have any compensation. very bad
Nice property worth to spend some time to explore the ground and join the activities offered. Great services, but wish the hotel offer better way to communicate with staff such as an APP with chat function. I asked a staff to make dinner reservation for me. But the only way I would know if the reservation was successfully made was through a notes leave in my room. I had to come back to hotel instead of just having dinner elsewhere.
Thank Hoshinoya to help us deal with many issues. It’s a great feeling and imagination during the vacation. Hope we can visit here again next time.
The ocean was beautiful and could enjoy the view from the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I have stayed in many hotels and resorts, including a highly rated one in the Maldives, and this is my (and my family's) absolute favourite resort/hotel in the world! You do not experience understated luxury and 6-star service until you have stayed here. The rooms are simple, immaculately appointed with thoughtful touches, including 2 sets of pjs (1 for wearing outside your room around the resort, another softer cotton/linen set for bedtime). The bathroom is HUGE with a large tub and shower, there is also a full-sized refrigerator with coffee machine, microwave oven and hotplate (for some of the in-room dining options which have to be heated up or cooked). The views from our room (Fushi ocean front suite) were amazing, it's very relaxing to be able to wake up to the sound and view of the crashing waves every morning, the pool and lounge are fabulous (pool has a great view of the beach and sea as well). The only thing that I don't like about the resort is that it's too far away from the airport. I suggest stocking up food or snacks at convenience stores when you are coming back to the resort from somewhere. Also, there is no TV in the room and no gym, but these did not affect our stay. Finally, the service is 6 or even 7 stars!!! They were so so helpful with taxi and restaurant reservations, in-room dining breakfast is fabulous, and definite shout out to the cheerful Aoi from the restaurant who gave us wonderful handwritten recommendations on what to do around Yomitan! My family and I wished we could spend more time here, and I will definitely check out the other Hoshinoya resorts around Japan if they're anything like this one!
Very comfort and relax
Great attention to detail. My companion has a dairy allergy and the staff was very accommodating. The grounds and facility is extremely beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommend.
My wife and I visited Okinawa on our honeymoon and stayed at Hoshinoya. This was our favorite hotel/resort experience from our entire lives. The room itself was gigantic with incredible amenities and more than we needed—especially for Japan. The staff was the friendliest of anywhere I've stayed around the world. They offered really cool cultural experiences (some free and some at additional cost) that were really enjoyable and helped me appreciate the local culture. The service was exceptional with the two issues we encountered during our four-day stay. The view from the room and most of the resort is breathtaking, and you're right on the beach the whole time. The meals—both in-room and at the multiple on-site restaurants—are top-notch and some of our favorites from our two weeks in Japan. The pool and leisure areas felt private and exclusive even though they are shared by all guests, with plenty of room and so much space. This will forever be my favorite 'getaway' location and resort.
Service was incredible and the property was so well thought out Will definitely be back
Amazing hotel based around quiet and privacy. Really enhanced the relaxation aspect of our honeymoon.
완벽한 리조트 !! 최적의 물 온도로 24시간 수영 가능. 최고의 서비스
Everything is amazing! The dining options can be a bit limiting and have odd times so make sure you plan your meals as soon as you can and make the necessary reservations. The resort is exceptional and the staff very attentive.
The staff is well trained and chat in a scripted manner (lacking sincerity or personal touch). The high compound wall and jinbei wear makes me feel that the resort is like a prison for the affluent. The high windows in the suites have nice views but the feeling is like a glass zoo exhibit.
Stsyed teo nights with the family and found that the overall experience was below the expectations of a five star house.
Love there so much❤️❤️❤️
Excellent stay. Thanks so much to the staff who made our stay amazing.
We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a larger honeymoon trip to Japan. From the moment you arrive the staff was some of the best we had experienced, very attentive, took us through the facilities at the property and were very attentive to my partners dietary requirements The hotel is built along the coast line, with reception and most of the restaurants / pool being towards the middle / south of the property. The spa (used for massages) and activity class rooms are towards the North of the property. Most of the rooms are towards the North of the property so those wanting to use the pool or cafe / grill will need to walk either 5/10 minutes (depending on room location) or can get staff to pick them up from the rooms. Usually we would walk to the pool, and then get the golf buggies back (as most of the staff / buggies are located at the reception, near the pool / restaurants) Pro’s: - Amazing rooms and service - The pool is amazing, bigger than in the photos, and a true highlight Good things for non-Japanese to know: - The hotel isn’t built to be like an all inclusive hotel, but rather is catering to Japanese needs. This means, there is no alcohol at the pool (and no proper bar), and most food options need to be booked in advance - Renting a car / booking an Uber makes it easy to see the island / get to more food options - As catering to Japanese who like privacy, staff won’t be walking around to cater to your needs, but rather are always reachable via phone / reception
Overall very nice facilities, but not a 5 star hotel experience. Firstly, staff was not in sync at all, and were not on top of things, although they were friendly. Secondly, service level in terms of getting drinks and towels etc by the pool didn’t exist. Thirdly, the pool area was constantly crowded by kids and families, not at all the relaxing vibe that the pictures portray. When we raised this concern and told them that we expected a more peaceful atmosphere on our honeymoon, they said they can’t do anything about it. Lastly, they woke us up with a loud message in the speaker in our room that scared us at 7.30, stating that the fire alarm was false. The fire alarm, we never heard of in the first place. At this price, we expected a lot more!
Sublime : stylé décoration de la suite, accès plage magnifique, même la décoration de la réception une merveille. Repas du soir digne d'un étoilé. Personnel exquis
Wonderful environment
It was a relaxing and quiet stay with mediocre service for a luxury hotel. We like the zen feeling of the spacious room, gorgeous ocean view and the authentic Japanese atmosphere at the resort.I love their Benta Cafe situated on a hill above the ocean. The view is breathtaking while we sipped away on a few drinks. The dining options are limited and Olugrill was fully booked for dinner on their online system for the 3 nights we stayed there. Fortunately, we were able to walk in and get a spot on one of the nights. Overall, the experience was authentic, therapeutic and relaxing for me. However, I would really consider coming back again here for their lack of English for a hotel at this price. There were some small inconveniences caused due to their lack of proficiency in English. It didn't bother me much as we had local friends taking my husband and I around so we were able to enjoy the local restaurants nearby. However, I would say a foreigner who can't speak Japanese would probably have troubles getting various food options nearby. One thing I would also like to mention is that the staffs were really fast picking us up everytime we called the golf cart from our room to other areas of the resort. However, every night when we came back from outside (between 8-10pm), there may not be a staff there to take us to the room. It would’ve been a 20 min walk in the dark with a chance of stepping on bugs. Luckily, we were able to catch staffs who walked by and had them call a golf car for us. The public phone we could use to call near the entrance outside of the front desk) didn't work. We could've had walked inside the 24 hour front desk to have them call for us but it is really quite inconvenient for a luxury resort. It'll be like at least 5 min a walk. Overall, we didn't feel we were being pampered compared to other luxury hotels. The staffs were polite but I don’t know if there’s anything luxury about the service
This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are magnificent and the staff and service are absolutely 5 star. The pool is stunning and the food at the fine dining establishment is a culinary experience not to be missed. But, a few things to note: The area around the hotel is very limited for dining and activities. Hence, we would have really loved if the hotel served food at the pool. There are some very limited drink options there but having a lunch menu at the pool would have been incredibly helpful to relaxing and enjoying the day there since that is about all there is to do! The hotel has three restaurants and all three are very expensive and dressy so being able to have a casual sandwhich, burger and fries or some pasta or snacks served poolside would have made this place perfect. There is also no bar. Having a comfortable sunset bar would have really made out stay more enjoyable. Just nice options to be able to relax without leaving the area.
Lovely rooms with perfect ocean views, very helpful and friendly staff. A bit impractical in terms of distance to restaurants and shops if dining at the resort is not preferred.

Nice hotel with the best pool ! Love it!

Good service and accommodation. Place to go for in Okinawa
All the buildings and gardens were beautiful, and everyone I met was friendly. The facilities were convenient.
We had the best stay ever! Thank you for the wonderful accommodation.
Long story short, the staff admitted that they had booked the wrong massage because they didn't understand what a deep tissue massage was in English. When I requested them to stop the massage immediately (just 4 minutes into it) because the pressure was too weak (even the lady tried all her strength), they charged us 50% of the massage fee as a cancellation fee. The room was very small considering the high price we had to pay. The pool was full of kids, and even as a guest, you might not be able to have dinner in the main dining…. I can understand these issues in a cheap hotel, but for an expensive hotel with very poor English-speaking staff and hypocrisy, it's unacceptable. I definitely won't stay there again. Side note: you are not allowed to stay next to the swimming pool to wait for the check in- you can only wait in a dark room.
Best holiday ever.
Amazing stay at this lovely picturesque hotel! The Staff was very friendly and kind, working hard to make our stay the best possible. We felt so cared for by the manager and the Staff. The in room dining experience was New to us but we loved it! The Beach was close by and they offered to drive us every day and pick us up whenever we wanted to. Would definitly reccomend to families and couples. We also tried the karate class and LOVED IT. It was one of the most fun things we have ever done on vaacation. Our sensei was amazing.
The best place to relax and unwind! Architectural of the property is so artistic and very unique!
Just perfect. I had an amazing stay
This was my first stay at a Hoshinoya property. Actually, I tried to book at other Hoshinoya properties in Japan but they were full. I had some trepidation because of some of the bad reviews on TA. My conclusion is that if you are not open to the approach this hotel takes, then things can go badly and you may end up checking out early to take refuge at the Ritz Carlton, Halekulani or Busena Terrace. The approach of this hotel is unique. Starting with reception, the way the process is set up you feel like you are entering a different world. The architecture of the property is stunning and you will be wowed on your first day and the first evening. The meal at the restaurant was theatrical and every course evoked “wows.” I stayed at “Tin” which is a standard twin. I was also travelling with my mom and her friend who stayed at the “Fushi” – the deluxe oceanfront suite. The rooms were very clean and inviting. Bathroom amenities were very full and the very thick futons were comfortable. The property itself is laid out in a 1.5 km stretch along the beach. Distances to the restaurant and spa can be long, so you can call a golf cart to transport you at any time. I stayed for two nights and three days and I would very much consider going back. I had a very nice stay. However, there are a couple of areas for improvement and ones of which guests should be aware. Restaurant menu – we pre-ordered the fixed menu for breakfast and dinner. The breakfasts (Japanese or Western option) are exactly the same every day. The dinner – some of the courses changes others do not. The second evening meal ended up being more underwhelming. Landscaping – I was surprised at how untidy the landscaping around the property was. There was plant/debris at many places and the beach itself gives an overall feeling of being unkempt. The rooms are not right next to the beach and the entry to the beach is through the nearby café. I ended up paying a lot because I reserved the suite and also the fixed dinners. For the money, I feel like there should have been more – perhaps some more interesting hotel activities, amenities or facilities. But I appreciate the fact that staying here has made me question the value I receive from a luxe property, whether they take a zen-like “less is more” approach like Hoshinoya, or the “more is more” approach of properties like the Ritz Carlton.
In August 2023, my family of three stayed at the accommodation. The room was spacious and clean, with a separate bedroom and a sunken hearth-style living and dining area that was very convenient. The view from the window was exceptional, allowing us to indulge in a world of escapism. There was no TV in the room, so all we could hear were the sounds of birds and waves. It was perfect for a digital detox. However, there was Bluetooth available, and the Wi-Fi worked smoothly, so with iPads or PCs, we could use the internet for streaming. Our children even enjoyed watching a late-night World Cup match in the living area. We dined at the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner, and the food was delicious, served on lovely dishes. The staff had the perfect balance of approachability and professionalism, truly embodying the hospitality of a renowned establishment like Hoshino. The only minor issue was that while we had a quiet and peaceful time in our room, the restaurant was quite lively due to the presence of many families with young children. This might have been coincidental to the specific date and time we visited.
Do not recommend this hotel much to others. There are no Sofa & TV in room. As such, I could not be able to relax at all as long as my son & wide got into bed. I understand this hotel would be nature friendly one however it would be better to let me know prior. Also it was inconvenient for everyone (guest & staff0 to transfer around by cart. Its cafe foods are worst ever. Do not try there. I have been all luxury hotels in the world and this one I can't rate as 5 star one. Although it was pricey too.
Great surroundings
Our family LOVED this hotel, we stayed for 4 days and didn't leave the resort. Between the pool, the beaches and activities on site there was enough to keep us busy yet at the same time gave us time to relax. We hope to come back some day!
Awesome staying experIence. Will definitely come back soon.
This resort is the out of this world. I love every part of it. The location, the facilities, how comfortable the room was. It was the best hotel experience I have ever had. We had stayed in fancy and 5 star resort before and this one topped all of them.
