We were allocated to a room that was not we saw online. The bathroom doors need to be changed, they don't have privacy. No safe to keep valuable items.

The property is lovely and quiet with good facilities and scrumptious meals. The accommodation was really comfortable.

Quiet, peaceful, secluded room, fireplace was great, the staff made a fire for me every night, the food was great, the bed was very comfy and had an electric blanket, the forest was lovely to walk in, staff are LOVELY!

Forest walk needs more signs and a better path. Not all rooms have wifi in the room.

The place is isolated, staff is extremely friendly, food was delicious, it was very quiet and comfortable. The hiking trails were fun too, and very long. You could definitely bring a couple friends for an entire weekend, it would be fun!

Network signal struggles, especially Telekom. The room we had didn't have any wifi, only the public/common areas had wifi, but adding dstv to the room was a plus!

The tranquility and the quality of the accommodation. The staff were excellent. We'll definately be back!

The only thing that was not quite right was the oxtail was rather tough. It needed some more cooking time. The flavor was really good though.

Very nice stay in a quiet place away from the city. We had a lovely walk around the property as well. Staff are friendly and professional. Breakfast was good with nice variety.

Peaceful,Great Service and Good Food

Everything, our room was nice and cozy. We appreciated the fireplace and aircon in the room. Beautiful decorated and neat. We had a very tasy breakfast and dinner.

Nothing major but the toilet water took quite long to refill after flushing however pur expectations were exceeded for the purposes of a girls night out trip.

The accomodation is average for a 4-star rated place. It could just be the room I booked

I stayed at this venue many, many years ago before COVID, the conference and spa facilities were not built and I must say little changed and noted the actual venue could do with some TLC. Still a lovely place with great walks, real helpful and friendly staff. We had a birthday in our group and the chef whipped up a most delicious cake we really enjoyed. The meals were delicious and nicely presented. All in all a great weekend stay not too far from JHB. The spa massages were great and good value for money.

Whilst it is great to have an electronic break, WiFi in the room was dismal and the dongal provided, did little to improve matters. Too cold to try the outdoor shower!!

It's really beautiful

Breakfast and also dinner was very good. Plenty options to select from. The chef and servers are doing a great job. Pleasant and attentive. Although we did not use the pool (too cold) it looked great as did the surrounding areas. The walks are all really lovely. Easy to find, walk through. We especially enjoyed the hanging bridge! The games room/s. We were tempted into playing table tennis (after how many years!) We decided to take a walk right up to the Hilltop house. Although a bit strenuous, it was a great walk with beautiful views. We will hopefully visit the HH in the near future and bring more friends for a stayover. We will definitely be recommending Whispering Pines to all our families and friends. Thank you to especially Israel who did a splendid job explaining, showing etc etc. He was most helpful! Thank you Israel!

Staff very friendly and accommodating. Cleaning of rooms was done without us even seeing the staff and done very well. All info was shared in most cases before we even asked....I.e. Great communication

No buffet breakfast on the Saturday, which I understand with so few guests.

Clean neat value for money . Staff was polite snd friendly.

There is a bar and pool play area play some music to give it a vibe and holiday atmosphere…I understand quiet and peaceful but your entertainment area should have some soft music for great vibe 😊

The 3Km gravel road, especially after the rain and perhaps the curtains in room 16.Need some attention....

The bedrooms are very spacious as well as bathrooms. Bed very uncomfortable! SOME of the staff were friendly until they knew I wasn’t too happy. The spa is so worth while and highly recommended by all 4 of us! Rose was amazing. They did sort out a pillow exchange very quickly which was done without a problem - unfortunately that’s it!

The pricing is exorbitant from food to drinks and outrages! While I know you need to make money ripping people off is a disgrace. The entire property needs serious maintenance and in fact I hurt myself with a loose slat. Games room can be made so nicely but just no effort. Nothing much to do , if that’s your scene. Says no children under 11 but there was a maybe 2 year old there?? Dining hall awful, cold, full of spider webs, cracked ceilings etc. Food not worth the price and to pre-order dinner in the morning is crazy! They offer WiFi, but this doesn’t work so be aware. Property has so much potential but just neglected and overly priced! I mentioned 3 times it was my daughter’s birthday, a little gesture of writing on plate or something would have been nice. At the “games room” we ordered drinks from the bar and it came across as they couldn’t be bothered , it was a mission and apparently only 2 staff members working - yet it wasn’t busy. Very very disappointed.

Checked in at night and was quite difficult to see and drive through the 3km dirt road to get to the estate. Maybe consider putting a small microwave in the cabin.

The tranquil and beautiful setting against the koppies of the Magaliesburg The comfortable and large bed. The lovely walks that one could do. The Friendly and Attentive Staff who listened to ones little requests and suggestions. Clean large pool - I swam 40 laps each morning before breakfast.

The roof leaked. The electricity went off at least 20 times during our 8 day stay. The DSTY also stopped working on 3 occasions and does not have the full suite of channels. Infrastructural repairs need to be prioritized by owners and management upgrades and repairs need to be done on the chalets (Roof and outside decks). Working Solar Inverters and Backup power needs to be prioritized by the owner and management This 3.5 Star venue can be a 5 Star venue if the attention to detail and upgrades and repairs are carried out.

It really is a "hidden gem". Exceptional service from staff, you feel right at home!

Cabin and pool and staff service was exceptional and excellent. We want to compliment Elias and Israel on their amazing client service and going the extra mile for us, thank you so much.

Breakfast was excellent but the dinner was average as some of the meat tasted old. The vegetables, potatoes, salad and dessert were excellent. The WiFi & TV did not work the entire time we were there. You need to upgrade the entertainment area, the pool table, dart board and put a table tennis up in the area and then you are “A” to go.

Peaceful and secluded in a natural setting. The house had everything we needed, was clean, comfortable and had fantastic views. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

A little bit older and less modern property but large comfy bedroom and bathroom. Bedroom had lovely fireplace and pretty deck amongst big trees and greenery. Very clean (crisp, white linen) and excellent service from the manager & other staff - everyone SO friendly and happy to accommodate! Best dinners we’ve eaten out in a while.. excellent chef!! We stayed 2 x nights and both night’s dinners were 10/10! Beautiful pool and gardens

The bathroom opening onto the bedroom lacked privacy but thats just our personal preference. The dining-room area needs an upgrade but the staff are wonderful!

Fantastic service - staff are always friendly and go out of their way to do their best. The beds are comfortable and the wood in the fireplace for cool rainy evenings was a lovely touch! Nice to have a bath in the bathroom and products like soap, shampoo etc were replenished. The lady at the spa was excellent - do book yourself a massage!

The road into Whispering Pines is a dirt road and unfortunately there was incessant heavy rain so it was very bad in parts

The staff were extremely professional a guy by the name of Israel assisted us and he is world class when he comes to service i don't normally do reviews because if poor service. But this guy was a cut above the rest.

The weather was rainy but that is not something that can be controlled. The breakfast superb dinner was ok. The food was great but we all have our different taste options

It was raining and the road towards the property especially 100m from the gate is horrible. We were driving a low suspension car and almost turned around because the mud/ gravel was really bad because of the rain.

Staff is nice and pleasant. Location is perfect for a bush- in- the city experience.

The setup of the entire place .

The breakfast was fresh and healthy. The whole place was peaceful, clean, green and serene. The staff are so well mannered, kind, friendly , calm and very helpful. They go out of their way to make your stay pleasent. The room was so spacious and equipped with all we needed. Its a clean, beautiful, secure, well lit place, we could take walks even at night. This is my new absolute best place for a holiday. They even helped us light a fire at night. And we forgot something there on checkout and there couried it to us. 🥰

That we only booked for two nights, would have loved to stay longer

Everything was amazing. I loved that we could walk everywhere once parked at our room. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially when it was raining and we had booked a picnic. The picnic was set up in the restaurant by the fire. A perfect memory for our anniversary.

That I had to leave. We loved our stay.

The staff are so professional and helpful; everyone from the gate to the kitchen and the staff looking after the grounds and the cottages. The chef's food was really good, and the gardens and trails are well-maintained. I would recommend Whispering Pines and I intend to return in the future.

The place is in a very serene location and it’s a good place to go if you need time away from the city. The walking trails are also great.

Lovely secluded place to relax and recuperate

A expansive well tended garden welcomes you. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and clean with a full DSTV bouquet. The staff from the security guard at the front gate to reception staff, and cleaners all were friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The walks were easy with breathtaking views. Loved this place.

Cottage was a bit cold

Clean, quiet environment. Our house was private but very safe. The house was clean and spacious and had all the necessities needed. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and the service was top notch. It was an excellent get away.
