The gravel road getting to the farm needs some attention.

Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Cozy rooms and a fireplace. The rooms are spacious and good value for money. Close to other places, like Black Horse Brewery, so you can go and enjoy a lovely meal out.
The rooms weren't exceptionally clean. We opened some drawers in the kitchen and we could see crumbs left by previous guests. The cutting boards also had an odor (of food not prepared by us).

Reviewed Aug 20, 2026Thabiso the caretaker, he catered to our every needs. He is really professional and has exceptional customer service skills. We give him more than 10 over 10. Our unit was very spacious and had everything that we needed for a self catering unit. I brought my kids with me and there was a well built jungle kiddies gym with a trampoline. My kids really had fun and we all enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be returning to The Rising Rocks Farm when we are in Magaliesburg. Thank you to the management and staff.

The Geyser froze over night so we couldn't shower in the morning, however when the water did eventually heat up, it was nice and hot.

Best client service. Gabs is ppls centered and was made for that place. We most definitely going back with our kids next time

The driveway does not allow two cars driving in opposite directions. Had to shift to the side on a very narrow space to allow the other driver to pass through, in another instance the other car had to reverse to make way for me.

Tiles around the pool super slippery and dangerous. Trampoline misses springs so you can get stuck. Bathroom super dirty and lot of blank mold in cabin.

A special thank you to Gabriel, who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. There's so much to love about this place, like the swinging chair, the trampoline, the pool and the spectacular hike. But most of all the peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful nature was the best.
The driveway to get into the place was little bit unpleasant.

For what you pay..you do expect a bit more. It needs a refresher and serious upgrade. It has potential. Obstacle course must be fixed. Wood is going to cause splinters.

The apartment was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Even though we didn’t spend much time there, we couldn’t fault a thing. The cottage was well equipped and small things made a huge difference, the rusks, personalised welcome message and a tour of the facilities on arrival. The hike was wonderful and the route was easy to follow. The kids absolutely loved it, the farm is family friendly.
We would've loved to see the beauty of the farm, the burnt veld made some parts of the hike ashy but we we will be back to enjoy in future.

Just the entry to the dirt road is a bit steep and rocky. That can't be helped though as there are many farms who use the same entrance, and so only the community as a collective can attend to making it smoother.
