Hotel City Garden Amsterdam

El hotel está muy buen situado y conectado, la atención del personal( especialmente un señor y una señora asiáticos) ,ambos fueron excepcionales. No es muy grande la habitación pero aún asi es cómoda ,para dos personas está muy bien, tres se quedaría un poco pequeña. Es silenciosa ya que no escuchamos nada. El desayuno está bien ya que es variado. Si regresara a Amsterdam sin duda regresaría al mismo hotel.

Cuando entremos en la habitación, nos encontramos algun pelo de hombre en el lavabo. Un chico que siempre estaba en la recepción , con gafas hindú no era muy educado la verdad.

Die Lage ist für Museumsliebhaber sehr gut. Außerdem gab es neben einem Wasserkocher auch einen Kühlschrank auf dem Zimmer, was sehr praktisch war. Das Frühstück war auch recht gut, man hatte eine gute Auswahl.

Das Zimmer war sehr in die Jahre gekommen, teilweise etwas schäbig. Es war oberflächlich schon sauber, aber z.B. war in der Dusche alles verkalkt und die Lüftung im Badezimmer war total verdreckt.

The rooms were well designed and the request for two single beds was met. The room was small but spacious enough if you treated it as a place to sleep and not to spend time in. The hotel is close to the Vondelpark and only 20mins by tram from the central train station

When we arrived the air was stuffy and it didn't have air conditioning. Thankfully the weather outside was cool enough that opening the window cooled the room down.

I didn’t feel the property was worth the amount paid for

De locatie was goed, het bed was comfortabel. Het ontbijt was niet zo uitgebreid maar er was genoeg. De kamer was ruim en proper.

De lavabo in de badkamer was wat klein. Je kon enkel cash betalen in het drankautomaat. De kamer was redelijk warm, we moesten de ventilator aanzetten maar die was redelijk luid.

Vicino al centro, ma immerso nel verde!

Die Umgebung war angenehm ruhig, direkt am Vondelpark. In ein paar Gehminuten war man in belebten Straßen. Wir konnten unser Zimmer upgraden, da das Zimmer im Untergeschoss nicht zumutbar war.

Die Zimmer im Untergeschoss sind nicht bewohnbar. (Siehe Fotos)

Nette kleine kamer met comfortabel bed, klein koelkastje en thee/koffie faciliteiten. Redelijke douche met wc en handdoeken. Vondelpark op 1 min lopen, een grote supermarkt op 5 minuten lopen. Veel leuke cafés en eetgelegenheden op loop afstand, even als openbaar vervoer. 5 min van museum plein met Van Gogh museum en Rijksmuseum. Voor yoga, healthy food en spiritualiteit is Centrum De Roos een prachtige locatie aan het einde van de straat net links bij de ingang van het Vondelpark.

De kamer was snel benauwd en warm (ondanks dat het niet heel warm buiten was) Het raam kon open (op mooie achtertuin) maar er staan 4 of 5 airconditioners tegen de buiten muur precies onder het raam. Kiezen voor "frissen lucht" met herrie - geen eigen airco op de kamer alleen een basic kleine fan wat de kamer niet koeler maakt.

Location, 24h reception, cozy room, I haven't tried breakfast and can't comment.

Smell of cigarettes at the reception and in general the structure is a bit worn out.

No llegsmos a alojarnos porque nos cambiaron de hotel sin previo aviso. Estuvimos horas antes para dejar nuestro equipaje y tampoco en ese momento nos avisaron. El personal casi no daba explicaciones y, aunque viajábamos con niñas pequeñas, no fueron amables y serviciales…

Location is very good if you want to visit museums like Rijn or Van Gogh. Also the Vondelpark is nearby, which is very nice in summer or spring. The room was very clean and all windows wide looking to the inner garden full of flowers. Recommended for a couple of days but not to stay too long as the room is a bit small for a family of 4.

The size of the toilet was too small, location of the TV (only 2 beds can see the TV. There is no sofa or chair to seat (only one). For a couple of days is OK, but to stay 4-5 or more probably not so confortable.

Ontbijt (eieren waren niet te eten en de broodjes van het buffet waren oud). Bloed op een kussen. En lekkage op de grond in onze kamer.

Eine sehr gute Lage, von der man schnell in der Schnell im Zentrum Stadt ist, das Frühstück war sehr gut es gab eine große Auswahl an Brot, Brötchen, aufschnitt, Cerealien, Obst, eine möglichen Heißgetränke.

Recht schmale Betten, das Bad müsste mal saniert werden offene Steckdosen unterm Waschbecken, und funktionierte teilweise nicht.

De las 3 noches, 2 no funcionó el wifi. Las camas eran colchonetas El baño muy incómodo, ducha pequeña, no hay ningún espacio para apoyar los artículos de higiene ni para colgar la toalla de mano. Muy mala iluminación, hay un espejo de cuerpo entero que no se podía usar porque no te veías.

Great location, very close to all the main museums and park. Tram line was very close to the hotel making it easy to access other areas. The staff were friendly on arrival. The room I was in (small double) was clean, comfortable and was a great base for our short city break.

My only comment would be the corridors to the rooms, the carpet needs updating to reflect the more modern approach seen in the rooms (albeit my bathroom wasn’t new but it was clean).

Hôtel avec ascenseur. Chambre pour 4 personnes au troisième étage avec salle de bain et wc. Bonne literie, la chambre et la salle de bain sont propres avec le ménage qui est fait quotidiennement. Deux ventilateurs sont à disposition pour les journées chaudes, ainsi qu'une bouilloire et un frigo. À 5 minutes de l'arrêt du tram qui emmène vers le centre d'Amsterdam et la gare centrale. Le plus grand parc de la ville est juste à côté pour promenade et pique-nique. Le personnel est disponible, le petit déjeuner complet avec du salé et du sucré. Les personnes qui s'occupent des chambres sont au top et très agréables. Je recommande vivement.

Habitación pequeña, moqueta sucia asquerosa, camas minusculas. Hemos estado 3 días sin wifi y decían que era problema del proveedor…

The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, showers were nice. The breakfast had a lot of options and was always filled. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful to us on multiple ocassions.

Las camas son muy cómodas. La ubicación perfecta para moverte caminando o en transporte público.

Die Lage und Preis waren gut.

Leider sehr enttäuschender Aufenthalt Unser Zimmer befand sich im Keller und hatte kein Fenster. Dadurch war eine ausreichende natürliche Belüftung nicht möglich. Als einzige Möglichkeit zur Luftzirkulation stand eine Klimaanlage zur Verfügung. Leider roch die Klimaanlage beim Einschalten extrem nach Schimmel und unangenehm, sodass wir sie nicht benutzen konnten. Dadurch war es in dem ohnehin fensterlosen Zimmer praktisch nicht möglich, für frische Luft zu sorgen. Besonders enttäuschend war, dass auf der Klimaanlage ein Aufkleber angebracht war, laut dem eine Wartung bereits im Januar 2019 empfohlen bzw. fällig gewesen wäre. Dass die Anlage offenbar seitdem nicht entsprechend gewartet wurde, könnte unserer Meinung nach auch die Ursache für den starken modrigen Geruch sein. Wir haben daraufhin an der Rezeption nachgefragt, ob ein Zimmerwechsel möglich wäre. Uns wurde jedoch mitgeteilt, dass alle Zimmer belegt seien und ein Wechsel nicht möglich wäre.

Buena ubicación cerca de los museos más importantes de la ciudad y para pasear por la ciudad. El desayuno no lo usamos pero a la entrada hay una máquina de café que la puedes usar gratis (muy buena idea). La habitación tenía nevera y calentador de agua, de 10. El espacio de la habitación era bueno.

La mampara del baño estaba desajustada y no cerraba del todo, además el plato de ducha era un poco pequeño para mi (hombre adulto de 178 cms de altura).

Very dirty, smelly and rundown. The room was a size of a cupboard. It was a bit of a shock to walk into all this,, considering the price, which was on the level of an average normalin Amsterdam. I've stayed in Amsterdam quite a few times before, but never had this kind of experience. I assume, the prices are mainly due to the location in the city centre (700 m walk to the Rijksmuseum). It was so bad that we checked out right away and booked another hotel on the go. For the same price, nice and clean - but it was located 8 km from the city centre, right next to a Metro station. I decided to check out after seeing multiple Google reviews, mentioning bed bugs just the previous week (!!) Yes it was stupid not to check for them before, but they were not on Booking...my bad. I paid twice for my own stupidity, and I don't think I'll get my money back. I contacted the manager of the City Garden, explaining the situation abd requesting a refund. Didn't get any reply until now. My booking was for 22-23 August. Don't recommend.

La moqueta estava bruta i semblava que a sota el terra no era massa estable segons la zona de la habitació. El personal de recepció molt sec, evitaven la interacció.

The breakfast room and staff very very nice.

The furniture, the floors and the bathroom all would need renovation. They were run down and not very clean. Our room on the second floor was extremely small and the same goes for the beds (very narrow and short) and the bathroom.The worst part of it was that there was no AC and we had two extremely hot days as we stayed there. The windows could not be opened, only tilted, which is not enough for letting air in. There was an old, dirty and loud fan in the room. The temperature in the room at night was 26°-28°C. That is very unhealthy. I know from measurements in my job that such a small room with two persons in it and a window only tilted will fill up with CO2 very fast. So it wasn't just uncomfortable, it was a real health risk. The fan mixing the hot air, which has less and less oxygen, is not helping. The room felt like a torture chamber. I bet there are prison cells with more comfort. I have never written negative reviews in my life so far, but this one place deserves it.

Posizione ottima, vicino al centro in vie tranquilla e benestanti. Comodo il noleggio bici direttamente all’albergo.

Leider hatten wir in 2/3 Nächten Waschmaschinen/Generatoren oder Ähnliches die liefen. Schienen jedoch aus dem Nachbarhaus zu kommen. Trotzdem ärgerlich

The room was in the -1 level. Felt humid and hot. I specifically booked a room not in the basement. We were told that the assigned room was better. It was for just one night, so we didn’t complain.

The room was the size you expect for the price, bed is alright size as well.

My cousin was bitten by fleas (or possibly bed bugs) that were on her pillow. Luckily i didn’t sleep on the hotel pillow and i cover my skin in hotel beds in fear and i was right to do that this time. She’s so itchy she cancelled an event tomorrow. The bathroom also has this black stuff on the tile on the bottom of the shower that could have been mold? did not take a photo but i have contacted health services and the hotel about this.

Location was great for us near museums, theatre and easy access to centre on very frquent trams, however we had a room in the basement for three, with very narrow beds and mattresses that moved around ALOT. There was no leg room in front of the toilet so we had to sit sideways (and I have little legs). There was a tv, however needed to partly be controlled by buttons on the rear of the screen as there were only four buttons on the remote. Volume up and down, channel up and down! Stairs very precarious and narrow, although there was a lift. Not recommended for older guests.

La ubicación es excelente. El personal venía todos los días a limpiar el cuarto, tenían servicio de laundry en el mismo día a un buen precio.

Las instalaciones se nota que conocieron un tiempo mejor. Por ejemplo, una de nuestras ventanas estaba un poco rota pero todo súper bien.

Well, I had bed bugs from the first night. I didn’t mention anything because I ended up looking at the google reviews and it seems like it was my fault for booking this place because it’s a common thing… the wifi did not work, the room was barely cleaned when they came in to change the rooms (bathroom mirror still dirty/toilet bowl not cleaned) the staff leave all the pillows and blankets etc in the hallway and block passages… my room wasn’t made until 3pm some days..

Die Lage am Vondelpark ist ideal. Auch die Verbindung mit der Straßenbahn war gut. Das Personal war freundlich und auch hilfsbereit.

Für die Größe des Zimmers war das Bett aber zu groß. Das Zimmer als Einzelzimmer mit einem Ein-Personen-Bett wäre ideal. Aber ein Doppelbett ist zu groß für diese Art von Zimmer. Es hätte sich immer nur einer außerhalb des Bettes bewegen können. Der Teppich hatte einige Flecken und das Bad (Armaturen und Duschwand) hatte lange keinen Entkalker gesehen.

Me gustó que esta bastante céntrico de lugares turísticos y se puede llegar fácilmente al centro de Amsterdam caminando.

La habitación es extremadamente pequeña, si vas con una maleta grande tendrás q abrirla desde la cama por q el espacio del suelo no es suficiente para el tamaño de una maleta grande, la mía era pequeña.

The location was great. We were literally just around the corner from several major museums which we visited during our stay. There is a variety of restaurants within a few blocks. Downtown Amsterdam is just a quick train ride of 10 minutes. Most importantly it could accommodate four people in one room, very difficult to find in Europe.

Well let me start by saying the mattresses are not real mattresses, they are more like futons. I had difficulty sleeping, but I managed some sleep. The bathroom was more like a bath closet it could occupy one person only. There was decay and mold throughout the bath closet, it felt like a refugee camp bathroom. Stairs or the noisy elevator, we used both hoping the elevator wouldn't break, it really sounded as though it needed maintenance.

La moqueta no da buen aspecto, las instalaciones son viejas, la mampara del baño estaba suelta, no está pensado para carritos de bebé o sillas de ruedas, hay 4 escalones altos en la entrada, es un 3 estrellas que en España sería un 2 estrellas

La habitacion no tenia aire acondicionado (epoca de mucho calor indispensable) el baño es muy pequeño y los colchones muy finos. La habitacion esta bien para una sola persona pero no es comoda para dos.

Het was een snelle check-in en de locatie was ideaal voor mijn verblijf.

Hygiëne was echt een misser. Ik vond bijvoorbeeld een aansteker onder het bed dus ik stelde me de vraag hoe grondig zij de kamers kuisen. Badkamer vond ik ook niet per se hygiënisch.

La limpieza no era muy buena y las camas tenían un colchón muy fino que se movía mientras dormías.

It is a great location not near the city center. But walking distance to mainly all the other tourist attractions. It’s next to a popular park yet it’s quietly tucked away so the noise is not bad. I highly recommend this place and would come back to stay here. Just the perfect location for the price.

I didn’t like the pillows it was too thick for me. But that’s a minor problem.

Saímos antecipadamente do hotel devido à presença de ratos em nossos quartos, o que causou pânico nas crianças. Estávamos hospedados em três quartos e dois ratos apareceram em cômodos diferentes. Além disso, o alarme de incêndio disparou de madrugada; tivemos que evacuar o prédio às pressas, de pijama, e depois descobrimos que era um alarme falso.

Great location, only 2min walk to the Van Gogh museum, close tram stop, around 30min walk to the center, really peaceful location.The no AC is not a problem. I really like this hotel and would stay again.
