Hotel Van Gogh

The locations was really good, all the popular attractions are nearby or a max 20 min walk. The room was clean and the staff came in every morning to give us clean towels and freshen up the room. The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful. Everything was great!

It's not that i didn't like it but i wished there were some hooks or shelves for towels to dry on in the bathroom.

Good location off Main Street right next to Van Gogh Museum.

Nothing significant yet the Room was small and I couldn't get an extra pillow as only 1 each in a room.

Amazing central location to the museums, with a safe local environment, school ground outside and a very nice neighbourhood. Staff greeting on arrival was very friendly and helpful, luggage storage no problem before check-in. The room was nicely furnished, spacious, clean and comfortable. Good sized lift. We were amazed to find Ottolenghi’s restaurant 100m or so from our door, a real treat. We would love to stay here again

Locatie top! Tussen PC hoofdstraat en Museumplein in, binnen 2 min bij het van Gogh Museum. Kamer 302 heeft een balkon wat erg fijn is met middag zon. Ontbijt was ook prima, genoeg keuze.

Tegenover een Basisschool wat doordeweeks en in de middag erg druk is. Maar dan ben je meestal toch niet thuis dus dat is te overzien.

Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, and the location was very convenient situated among many different museums and restaurants. The restaurant close to the hotel has very good breakfast and lunch items with reasonable price.

There were noises in the morning from some kind of construction with loud banging noises. The hallway and the elevator are a bit small with tight space.

El recepcionista que estaba por la mañana muy maleducado. Nos dijo que no nos guardaba las maletas. Nos sugirió hacer early check in con una de las habitaciones pagando el extra correspondiente. Sin embargo los otros dos muy amables. La habitación doble era mejor que la triple ( que estaba en la planta baja)

On a 4 bed room, 2nd day we left the room with clothes on the open closet and the beds with the sheets folded, surprise when we came back with a sign of "cleanning not required" on the door, Room uncleaned. 3rd day, they cleaned the bathroom but did not do the beds with argument that there might be things on the beds, which was not the case, showing photos. Cleaning is outsourced and when approached the staff, no solution offered.

The individual room is a very good option for alone travelers, you get a very good value for money for a very decent private bathroom and a cozy room with enough space for one. The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet area, very close to the museums, but also close if you want to visit other neighbourhoods with more nightlife.

The bed had two thin matresses and the top matress shifted a bit, making it a bit uncomfortable if you move too much.

Una buena ubicación, habitaciones grandes para ser Ámsterdam, aunque el personal de recepción no sabe español, hicieron esfuerzos para hacernos entender en inglés. No tienen servicios de cenas, pero hay un supermercado a 100m con comida para llevar y te dejan usar el microondas.

Las camas son para gigantes, hay un toper sobre el colchón y hace que la altura de la cama sea enorme, pero la técnica de subir y girar siempre funciona. El suelo es de moqueta y no lo aspiran durante tu estancia (4 días) no se si estás más si lo harán.

Hotel front desk and receptionist was super nice and inviting; he was very cheerful and gave good recommendations and advice on how to explore the city too. Location was also super convenient (next to tram stop and airport bus stop)

Room service did not clean our room on our second day. We noted this to the receptionist (and got clean towels and other amenities ) and the room was cleaned properly the next day.

Good breakfast. Excellent quiet location very near the major art museums and tram 2 and 24 stops that go to and from Central Railway station in about 15 minutes. Safe in the room was big enough for laptops. The room was clean and apparently quite recently renovated. The shower cabinet did not leak much water on the bathroom floor.

The only thing that could be better is the elevator buttons that did not have any text, just numbers from 0 to 4. A sticker showing at least that reception and exit are at floor 0 would clarify the issue.

Arrived 1h before check in and my hotel room was ready… but I had to pay extra to access it! It’s never happened to me before. Hotel need a cleanup. Wallpaper looks old and faded, torn. No bedside light! Only one overhead light for the whole room! Breakfast very low quality for the price. The breakfast is small with area bare tables with no coverings or table cloths. Again, for the price very mediocre.

Great, convenient location and quiet room on upper floor. Simple, no frills but clean place to rest from a busy day sightseeing.

Side lights next to the bed would have been nice, as well as a kettle rather than a pod coffee machine, but that's personal preference.

The bed was longer than expected, and being tall (6' 5") I very much appreciated that my legs weren't hanging off the end like they do in a lot of hotels. Was also a very convenient location, being right by the Van Gogh and Stedelijk museums, as well as being only a short walk to the canals.

La personne a la réception à notre arrivée le matin. Très antipathique, pas du tout accueillant. C’était très décevant, suite à des échanges très agréables en amont de notre arrivée. Nous avons demandé d’anticiper le Check in et, en arrivant à l’hôtel, le fonctionnaire à la réception ne s’est pas montré accueillant.

Het enige positieve aan dit hotel was dat het bed fijn was en de douche werkte.

Het is ronduit smerig en onvriendelijk in dit hotel. Ik kwam rond 13.00 uur aan. Bij de receptie werd niet gegroet en nauwelijks opgekeken. Je bent eerder last dan gast. De ontbijtruimte was nog steeds één grote puinhoop. Het toilet was extreem vies en bedekt met onbekende substanties. Aan de zijkant van het bed zaten vlekken en zelfs rijstresten. Ook op de muren waren overal vlekken te zien, waaronder bloed. Daarnaast waren er kapotte tegels en zeer vieze voegen. Het personeel spreekt gebrekkig of geen Nederlands en komt uitermate onvriendelijk over, muv de dame van de reiniging. Een bende ellende voor 143€.

Como puntos positivos, destacamos la limpieza y el desayuno, que era variado y estaba bueno. El baño estaba en muy buenas condiciones. Sólo echamos en falta crema hidratante junto al jabón y el gel de ducha. Las camas eran muy cómodas. Lo que más nos gustó fue, sin duda, la ubicación. Está a pocos metros del Museo Van Gogh y muy cerca del Rijksmuseum, además de contar con un autobús que conecta con el aeropuerto, lo que facilita mucho los traslados.

Nuestra experiencia en el Hotel Van Gogh comenzó con una muy mala impresión. Nada más llegar, tuvimos problemas para acceder al hotel: había que pulsar un botón en la puerta y apartarse un poco para que esta se abriera. Lo intentamos en varias ocasiones mientras el recepcionista del turno de mañana nos veía desde dentro y no hizo nada para ayudarnos. Finalmente nos abrió, pero de muy malas maneras y nos reprendió, sin siquiera saludarnos o decirnos buenos días. Al hacer el check-in, simplemente nos indicó que teníamos que hacerlo nosotras mismas, incluso activar las tarjetas de acceso a la habitación. Entendemos que el hotel tenga un sistema de check-in autónomo, pero echamos en falta una actitud más amable y predispuesta a ayudar. Consideramos, además, que quizás las personas mayores puedan tener más dificultades para saber cómo funciona este sistema y podrían necesitar algo de asistencia. Su trato fue tan poco acogedor que durante la estancia no nos atrevimos a preguntarle por excursiones o recomendaciones, y el día del check-out incluso nos daba apuro pedirle que nos guardara las maletas hasta nuestra hora de salida. Creemos que una persona de cara al público debería mostrar una actitud más profesional y cordial, ya que representa la imagen del establecimiento. Respecto a las instalaciones, hay algunos aspectos mejorables. La puerta de la habitación estaba desconchada y el mando de la televisión estaba sujeto con una goma, detalles que transmiten cierta falta de mantenimiento. La habitación era correcta para una estancia corta, aunque bastante pequeña, hasta el punto de que resultaba difícil que dos personas pudieran cambiarse de ropa cómodamente al mismo tiempo. En definitiva, el hotel tiene una ubicación excelente y algunos aspectos muy positivos, pero creemos que debería mejorar el mantenimiento y, especialmente, la atención al cliente. La actitud del recepcionista del turno de mañana condicionó mucho nuestra experiencia y fue lo que más nos decepcionó.

At around 4:00 a.m., I came to the reception and asked if I could have a coffee while waiting for my friend. Instead of simply explaining to me what was or was not possible at that hour, the receptionist spoke to me in a very disrespectful manner and told me to leave. He even threatened to call the police to have me removed. What made the situation even more difficult to understand was that another guest came downstairs with noodles and was allowed to get hot water. However, when I asked for a coffee, I was not allowed to use the coffee machine and the receptionist closed the machine. I find this completely unacceptable. I am a paying guest at your hotel and paid approximately €250 for the night. I can understand if certain services are unavailable at 4:00 a.m., but I cannot understand why another guest could be helped while I was refused a simple coffee and then treated in such a disrespectful manner. I felt humiliated and extremely unwelcome. I expect guests to be treated with basic respect, regardless of the time of day. I would therefore appreciate it if management could look into what happened and provide me with an explanation regarding the behaviour of the receptionist and the difference in treatment I experienced. Lo mejor: la limpieza, la ubicación y la tener la opción de pequeño desayuno.

El chico de Recepción de la mañana bastante antipàtico.

Un emplacement au top, à proximité des musées, des transports et du centre ville dans une rue calme (l’école en bas de la rue ne nous a pas dérangé). Présence d’un ascenseur. Petit-déjeuner correct. Accueil au top pour nous mais inégal en fonction de la personne présente.

Chambre un peu petite mais correcte pour nous. Le sèche-cheveux ne fonctionnait pas très bien et il manquait de paternes pour accrocher nos serviettes dans la salle de bain.

Staff were friendly and helpful. We appreciated the upgrade to a quad from a triple. We had plenty of room for the 3 of us. The room was beautiful. Comfy beds.

Das Frühstück würden wir nicht mehr dazubuchen. Es gibt gleich im Nebenhaus ein sehr gutes Cafe.

La propreté et l’accueil antipathique du réceptionniste à notre arrivée. Néanmoins le réceptionniste au checkout était exemplaire.

Líbila se mi lokalita, blízko muzeí, blízko autobusové zastávky na letiště, blízko tramvaje. Snídaně byly skvělé, skvělá dáma, která se o ně starala a vše vždy doplnila, když došlo. Velmi čistá koupelna. Jeden recepční byl velmi příjemný a uměl dát dobré rady ohledně dopravy, lístků do muzeí atd. Další recepční neuměl ani hosty pozdravit, ale asi zdravení je součást mé kultury a v Nizozemsku je to jinak.

Chyběla mi funkční lampa u postele. Pokoj byl pro tři osoby moc malý. Nebyl tam dostatečný úložný prostor pro tři osoby, protože byl pokoj malý nebylo ani kam dát příruční kufry, aby se člověk do nich pohodlně dostal. Ale toto je můj subjektivní pocit. Plus hotel je obklopen 2 školami, což jsem věděla, ale myslela jsem, že děti mají v srpnu prázdniny, tak nemají v Nizozemsku 😆🙈. Plus jejich hřiště je přímo na ulici u hotelu ze dvou stran, takže občas zalétl míč z hřiště až na recepci. Nic proti dětem nemám, byla jsem i zde s dětmi, jen mě překvapilo, že hřiště bylo na normální průchozí ulici, že si děti hrály na ulici, kde byly dvě prolézačky.

The museum is easy to find and well-located right by the museums. It was easy to get to from the station by tram.

It was okay for the one night we stayed but I wouldn't recommend it. Everything was a bit shabby, there was an awful smell on the corridors and the room had a really dark interior (dark brown wallpaper and dark brown carpet) which we found a bit odd. The staff at the front desk were quite curt and unfriendly, especially the guy this past Monday morning.

The location was nice, close to the tram 2/24/5, the museum quarter was just two minutes away. There were Albert Heijn nearby which made it comfortable to shop for daily supplies.

The room was clean but the walls were slightly dirty and worn out. Some staff didn’t greet you back, for example the Asian guy wasn’t really friendly when we greeted him.

L' hotel ha cmq soddisfatto le mie aspettative. Prezzo abbastanza competitivo. Zona centrale ma non centralissima (abbiamo cmq usato Uber un paio di volte poi sempre camminato). Gentilezza staff...a parte un componente dello staff per il resto gentilezza e disponibilità aiutandoci anche a risolvere uno spiacevole problema di rumore proveniente dalla camera sopra di noi. Consiglio cmq qs struttura!

unica pecca la pulizia....non credo abbiano mai passato l' aspirapolvere xké la moquette non mente. Cmq nulla di drammatico. Il bagno è sempre stato pulito.

The location and service are really good. Van Gogh museum across the street around the corner, Rijksmuseum 10mins walk, 15-30mins to the center. Tram/bus stop around the corner if you don't want to walk around. In general, max 30mins walking distance to all attractions in the center of Amsterdam. Really helpful staff. Would recommend for a 2 day stay. Tip: We booked a room only, no breakfast and that was good decision. There are options to have breakfast outside, in bars in the area, prices are similar, though the variety and dining experiences is better. That's not the hotel's fault. Tip: Book museums online 1 or 2 wks ahead otherwise no chance to buy the ticket while in Amsterdam.

Ótima localização. O tram (2) vindo da Estação Central tem parada na esquina e o ônibus (397) que leva para o aeroporto também. Ao lado do Voldenpark e dos museus.

Zeer centraal gelegen, mooie kamer met uitzicht op tuinen dus heerlijk rustig en koel, goed bed en heerlijk basis ontbijt. De badkamer was gerenoveerd met fijne douche en alles blonk.

Het gezeur rondom het betalen van het ontbijt. Bij de check in is via de computer had ontbijt besteld, maar blijkbaar moet je dit dan ook direct betalen. We wilden eten, gelijk gezeur, mij pasje lag boven dus bij uitchecken betaald. De kussens zijn wat klein en hard.

Excelente localização com um ótimo custo benefício. Perto dos principais museus da cidade. Pegamos um quarto grande e foi ótimo. Você pode adquirir café da manhã completo no próprio hotel por preço mais baixo do que se pedir na reserva. Há opção de tomar um café com croissant por 5 Euros. Alugamos bicicleta no próprio hotel e foi uma experiência memorável. O hotel não é 4 estrelas pelo fato de ter pouco serviço.

Dormire impossibile con rumori continui dal sistema di aerazione e di scarico durante la notte. Siamo stati costretti a dormire con la TV accesa per evitare di impazzire.

Bodde 3 nätter här, tyckte om läget. Nära till museer, restauranger och shopping. Promenadavstånd till mycket men även smidigt att ta spårvagnen som låg väldigt nära.

Inga krokar etc att hänga handdukar på i badrummet, vattenslangen var trasig så sprutade vatten åt alla håll, lampan vid sängen fungerade inte

Posizione molto comoda per chi arriva dall'aeroporto con il bus. La fermata è a 50 mt dall'hotel.

Stanza abbastanza piccola ma per 1 o 2 notti di passaggio va più che bene.

Localização excelente, banheiro com chuveiro ótimo. Camas confortáveis. Acomodou bem minha família (4 pessoas).

No check in fui recebida por um funcionário rude, não me ajudou em nada. Apontou uma maquina para fazer self check in, mas não me deu o numero do quarto nem se disponibilizou a guardar a bagagem ate a liberação do quarto. Após eu solicitar, ele disse que poderia guardar, mas não se levantou para indicar onde era, de modo que eu precisei solicitar uma segunda vez, e sempre recebendo respostas rudes e grosseiras. Não sei o nome, mas era um funcionário com traços orientais (fiz o check in no dia 4 de agosto por volta de 13:30). Depois disso não pedi mais informações a ele e só falava com a recepção se tivesse outra pessoa disponível. Desnecessário esse tratamento, numa viagem de 12 dias foi o único local que isso aconteceu.

Localização sensacional ao lado de transporte público para toda a cidade e também ao lado do museu do Van Gogh e outros. Confortável e staff super prestativo, com especial agradecimento ao moço de cabelo comprido e a moça loira. Foram ótimos!

Convenience and price

No bathroom tissue. Air conditioner not blowing cold air. Receptionist not at all helpfully. Remote sticky and dirty. Bed headboard stripping. That air conditioner thermostat needs replacement do not think it works.

The front desk staff was very friendly and 24/7. We were able to check in a little early at no extra cost and were able to easily store our bags before checkin. The rooms are very clean and a good size. There is a tram station very close by.

The location was a little far from central Amsterdam, but it was still a nice place to stay.

It's a quite dated premise and that is something one can smell (if sensitive). Also the AC made some noise throughout the night.

The morning of our second day stay the hotel had a big issue with the cold water. Unfortunately one of my family members got burned while in the middle of the shower. Soap on and unable to rinse because for over 30 minutes the water was extremely hot! The water was scolding hot, not just hot. We reported this and they said it was a hotel issue and ask why my family member couldn’t wait. Seriously? In the middle of a shower? When you’re supposed to leather with soap water then rinse? It was not fun. I was very disappointed the hotel didn’t even apologized and looked for an excuse.

La chica que me atendió durante el desayuno que además era española. Se volcó en explicarme cuales eran los mejores itinerarios así como que opciones tenía con mis hijos. Muchas gracias

El hotel esta muy bien situado con opciones para ir andando y en transporte público en la puerta.

The location near museums was great.

The room felt crowded with 3 people. We stayed during a heatwave, 35-37 C. Managed to keep the room somewhat comfortable but would certainly have appreciated air conditioning.:-)

Die Lage ist sehr gut Tram ist sofort erreichbar.

Das Zimmer zu klein, Bett zu klein, Aussicht auf 1m entfernte Mauer. Vorhang hängt bis auf Bett. Keycard funktionierte nicht mehr. Ungeziefer im Zimmer. Wasser in Getränkeautomat angeblich ausverkauft obwohl Fach gefüllt war, was sich in den darauffolgenden Tagen trotz Reklamation nicht änderte. Das alles bei 30°C. Absolut enttäuschend.

This is a lovely comfortable and welcoming hotel. We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Good bedding and comfortable beds. It is super well located near museum plein and vondel park. Quiet at night which was great.

No issues we had a wonderful stay.

I have previously stayed here and liked it very much. It is very clean. The staff is extremely helpful. Situation could not be better.
