THB Tropical Island

​Wir haben das Beste aus unserem Aufenthalt gemacht und hatten insgesamt eine schöne Zeit auf Lanzarote. Das Hotel selbst würde ich jedoch – insbesondere aufgrund der mangelhaften Sauberkeit – aktuell nicht unbedingt weiterempfehlen. Die Anlage hat großes Potenzial, wenn an einigen Stellschrauben nachgebessert wird. ​Positiv: ​Anlage & Pools: Die Hotelanlage ist sehr groß, verfügt über viele Pools und die Grünflächen sind schön gepflegt. Am Hauptpool stehen ausreichend Liegen zur Verfügung. ​Lage & Parken: Die Lage ist angenehm ruhig und es gibt einen großen, kostenfreien Parkplatz direkt an der Unterkunft. ​Verpflegung (Frühstück): Das Frühstücksbuffet bietet eine große Auswahl. Besonders die kalten Speisen, das frische Obst und Gemüse sowie die Auswahl an Wurst und Käse sind sehr gut. ​Rezeption: Ein großes Lob an das Team an der Rezeption! Die Mitarbeiter dort waren stets bemüht zu helfen und haben ihr Bestes getan.

Kritikpunkte: ​Zimmer & Sauberkeit: Die Zimmer sind leider sehr in die Jahre gekommen und müssten dringend modernisiert werden. Die Matratzen waren extrem durchgelegen, was bei uns zu durchgehenden Rückenschmerzen geführt hat. Die Sauberkeit im Zimmer ließ stark zu wünschen übrig: Ein Bettlaken war von Beginn an dreckig und wurde erst nach mehrfacher Beschwerde getauscht. Der angekündigte Handtuchwechsel (3x wöchentlich) fand erst nach 4 Tagen und zwei Beschwerden statt. Die restliche Bettwäsche wurde während unseres 1,5-wöchigen Aufenthalts gar nicht gewechselt. ​Barrierefreiheit: Das als barrierefrei ausgeschriebene Zimmer ist für Rollstuhlfahrer leider kaum geeignet. Der Platz neben dem Bett ist zu knapp und der Flur zu eng, um problemlos ins Schlafzimmer oder Bad zu gelangen. Hier sollte das Konzept unbedingt überarbeitet werden. ​Poolbereich & Lautstärke: Die Umgebung um den Hauptpool könnte sauberer sein. Die Duschen dort waren nicht nutzbar, da die Abflüsse voller Laub verstopft waren. Zudem sollte man sich am Hauptpool auf sehr laute Musik einstellen – an Entspannung ist dort kaum zu denken. Auch das Abendprogramm der Animation (die mit einem motivierteren Team eigentlich gut sein könnte) war lautstärkemäßig so extrem, dass es schlichtweg unangenehm war. ​Service & Gastronomie: Das Personal wirkte insgesamt leider wenig motiviert und nicht sonderlich freundlich. Für ein internationales Hotel hätten wir zudem erwartet, dass das Personal Englisch spricht. Beim Essen fehlte den warmen Speisen grundsätzlich die Würze und im Speisesaal stieß man leider häufiger auf dreckiges Geschirr. ​Fazit: Das Hotel besitzt eine tolle Basis und viel Potenzial, wenn die Zimmer renoviert werden und man beim Service sowie der Hygiene genauer hinschaut.

nos gusto la piscina dentro de nuestra ubicacion,las grandes estaban bien pero un poco frias,el desayuno muy bien,y la cena algo mejorable desde nuestro punto de vista,la habitacion muy bien ,camas muy comodas ,la supletoria para mi hijo un poco incomoda y el baño muy bien,el detalle de hacerte la habitacion,cambio de sabanas y toallas perfecto,en general bastante bien con relacion calidad/precio muy buena

las cenas son un poco repetitivas ,nos hubiera gustado que habria mas variedad de alimentos sin cocinar para que los cocineros te los podrian hacertelo por las planchas.

Apartments very nice. Basic but clean. Staff changed towels everyday and made beds. Location was perfect. Ideal for families. Loved having the smaller pool right at the apartment.

Apartahotel familiar con múltiples ambientes

La posizione è abbastanza strategica. Volendo si raggiunge Playa Blanca a piedi in 15 minuti. Belli gli spazi, bella soprattutto l'organizzazione in casette davanti a delle piscine. La mattina ti alzi e la prima cosa che vedi è la piscina. La colazione è ricchissima e dispone davvero di qualunque cosa. Forse per noi italiani non sono il massimo i dolci e il caffè, ma all'estero è spesso cosi per la mia esperienza, per cui non me ne stupisco più di tanto. La stanza era molto spaziosa, una sorta di piccola suite con un angolo cucina in zona soggiorno, una bagno ampio e la stanza con dei letti veramente grandi (apprezzati, abbiamo dormito bene). Ottima la climatizzazione, disponibilità di cassetta di sicurezza. Nel villaggio c'è un supermercatino (comodo) e il parcheggio è ampio. Nel villaggio per chi volesse c'è anche un ufficio di un noleggiatore locale di auto, e si possono chiedere informazioni per delle escursioni. Quando siamo stati a visitare il Tymanfaia con un tour organizzato sono venuti a prenderci col pullman proprio all'hotel. Essendo un hotel grande e conosciuto, infatti, per i tour operator locali risulta conveniente organizzare dei pick up direttamente all'hotel.

La pulizia e l'attenzione al servizio sono da migliorare. Le camere sono pulite in maniera un po' superficiale e un giorno non sono state rifatte (eravamo stati avvisati che la pulizia non sarebbe stata fatta la domenica, ma ci è capitato anche un altro giorno, non di domenica). Inoltre in sala colazioni la mattina mi sono trovata spesso piatti poco puliti (probabilmente la lavastoviglie viene caricata troppo e i piatti non si puliscono bene). Un'altra cosa che mi ha stupito è che nel cucinino pur essendoci un frigo non ci fosse un piccolo freezer: sarebbe stato comodo per raffreddare gli elementi della borsa frigo che portavamo in spiaggia. La camera inoltre pur essendo ampia era un po' rovinata e datata in alcune parti. Do comunque un buon voto perchè nel complesso siamo stati bene, ma la struttura dovrebbe lavorare su questi aspetti.

El complejo es bonito y cuenta con buenas instalaciones, especialmente las piscinas. La habitación era muy amplia y estaba muy bien equipada, con todo lo necesario para cocinar, algo que valoramos mucho. La limpieza fue correcta y el personal, en general, muy amable y atento. En cuanto a la ubicación, está a unos 25 minutos andando del centro de Playa Blanca, por lo que es recomendable disponer de coche. Hay un supermercado Aldi justo fuera del hotel, que resulta muy práctico para hacer compras.

Para ser un hotel de 4 estrellas, el buffet nos pareció bastante decepcionante, especialmente en cuanto a calidad y variedad. Había demasiada fritura durante muchos días y echamos en falta más variedad en los platos. Además, el comedor se queda pequeño para el tamaño del hotel. En la cena había que hacer cola para conseguir mesa y en algunos momentos resultaba bastante agobiante. También nos llamó la atención que algunos postres, una vez que se terminaban, no se reponían y directamente sacaban otro diferente, por lo que si querías alguno en concreto podías quedarte sin probarlo.

El personal, fue muy atento y amable. Las camas muy cómodas y el apartamento en sí, muy cómodo y amplio.

La limpieza podría mejorar, o dejar escobas y fregonas en cada apartamento para poder realizarlo los huéspedes. En nuestro caso, encontramos bastantes hormigas. En la zona de cocina, no puedes dejar nada en los armarios pues aparecen enseguida.

I really liked the pool and the slides,especially the slides I also liked the amount of space around the pool The buffet had good options and was quite spaced out . The bed was really comfortable and the hotel had nice staff.

The AC was disappointing as if you didn’t put your hand under it you couldn’t feel anything My other complaint was there wasn’t much space in the actual room

Todas las piscinas que tiene y la comodidad de si no quieres salir lo tienes todo en el hotel. El buffet un espectáculo, el mejor gazpacho que he probado en mi vida y muchísima variedad. Nos quejamos porque no funcionaba bien el aire y el teléfono, y nos regalaron a elegir en un desayuno/almuerzo o cena, dos bebidas y dos granizados (agradecidos de que cuiden a sus clientes). Las camas muuuy cómodas.

La limpieza es nula, ya no es no vinieran a hacernos las habitación, que tampoco (bueno un día a las 15:30 y estamos terminando de almorzar), es que, las puertas de la cocina tenían grasa, los platos sucios, muchísimos pelos en el suelo. Creo que deberían de cuidar más eso y las instalaciones también había mucha basura de gente, que no problema es de ellos, pero da la sensación de dejadez en ese aspecto y falta de personal. La animación es totalmente en inglés y francés. Los chicos los intentaban en la mini disco pero es que apenas hablan en español. Creo que es importante que en España el idioma principal sea el castellano, y por supuesto, si hay extranjeros pues traducir, pero no al contrario.

We had a lovely ground floor apartment. Spacious enough for 4 people 2 adults and 2 children. It had main essentials we needed for self catering. A great onsite shop. Which wasnt too expensive and very friendly staff. Aldi was just 5 mins walk away too. We loved having our own pool area. Which was relaxing,and more calmer then you could pop to the bigger pool area where its a bit more bustle and music. And the slides for the kids. Lovely gardens. They really look after it to keep it nice. The cleaners were brilliant too. Everyday came made your beds,and took rubbish,mopped. Very thorough. Very impressed. Its a large site,but I likec how spacious it was didnt feel too on top. There wasnt sunbed wars. My youngest used the kids club several times. Which he enjoyed. The on site Italian restaurant was lovely. We loved our 10 day stay and would stay again.

Nothing really we really enjoyed our stay. It could do maybe with 1 larger slide maybe for the teenagers. As its such a lovely big site. Although they can use the others they aren't that big for them. The kids disco could be a bit better. But apart from that we loved it and definitely will be back in the future.

Prachtige zwembaden en Entertainment was volop aanwezig. Leuke snackbar met alle snacks. Rustig hotel, groot zwembad voor het huisje.

De huisjes waren beetje oud, maar daartegen had je wel een groot zwembad voor je huisje.

Les infrastructures et le cadre est top pour un séjour familial.

Ne pas avoir de quoi nettoyer la chambre quand on va à la plage et qu’on a des enfants on sali vite. La qualité de la nourriture n’est pas au top mais ça dépanne. Certaines parties de l’hôtel ne sont pas exploitées et c’est dommage, comme laissé à l’abandon.

La ubicación y Playa Dorada. La mejor para niños pequeños.

La animación. Las instalaciones necesitan modernizarse al igual que las habitaciones. Las camas extras del salón son muy incómodas. El buffet para niños era escaso de variedad y algunos platos complicados para niños pequeños.

Sicuramente un posto x famiglie con bambini. I giardini e le piscine tutte bellissime e tenute bene. Tanti giochi mini club e spettacoli serali. Le camere un po' datate ma non mancava nulla. Le pulizie venivano fatte tutti i giorni tranne la domenica ma giustamente. (Stanza 812 tropical island) ringrazio la signora delle pulizie che tutti i giorni puliva con cura. Materassi del letto in camera molto comodi e nuovi I due lettini del divano vanno bene x bambini ma bruttini. Alla reception ci ha quasi sempre seguito Sergio un ragazzo educatissimo gentilissimo. Grazie infinite. La colazione ottima c era di tutto. Il mare non è vicinissimo ma con una camminata di 15 min si arriva a playa dorada.

La cena non mi ha soddisfatto e poi cmq I bambini di 4 anni anche se pagano la metà davvero troppo.

The spa was not very clean and the water smelled funny.

Après un séjour de 12 jours en juillet 2026 dans cet hôtel, voilà mon avis : Infrastructures : l'ensemble de l'hôtel est très agréable, très propre, très bien tenu. Les chambres sont confortables, bien agencées, et bien équipées. Certes, la décoration des salles de bain pourrait être rajeunie, mais c'est très propre. Les piscines sont très agréables (peut-être un peu fraîches pour certains, mais quand il fait chaud, c'est mieux). Restauration : c'est un buffet, il ne faut donc évidemment pas s'attendre à de la cuisine gastronomique. Mais globalement, la nourriture est bonne, les produits sont frais et assez variés. J'ai été très agréablement surpris par toutes les viandes grillées, ainsi que les plats en sauce, mais surtout les pizzas faites sur place. Juste un petit bémol pour les desserts qui ne m'ont pas convaincu. Personnel : Sur ce plan, rien à redire non plus ! L'ensemble du personnel s'est montré très efficace et très sympathique, faisant toujours des efforts pour être agréable et au service des clients. L'équipe d'animation (Clémence, Manon, Jade, Marina, Beatriz, Matteo, Anthony, Patrick, et Matthew) est vraiment au top, super avec les enfants ! Bravo !

It had something for everyone in the daytime with the many different pool areas ,slides , playgrounds and adults only pool.

Adult entertainment was not great and closed early so not great if you didn't go with young kids

-Las piscinas y las instalaciones en general. Los niños disfrutaron mucho. -El personal de recepción y del comedor eran super amables. -Los espectáculos nocturnos

-La animación era toda en francés y, a pesar de que los espectáculos nocturnos que ellos hacían eran de calidad, se dirigían al público en francés con 4 palabras en inglés y 2 en español, a pesar de estar en España. Las actividades diurnas programadas no se anunciaban en muchos casos y me da la sensación de que en muchos casos no se hacían, quizá estaban pensadas nada más para los franceses. -Los horarios de cierre de piscinas y comedor eran bastante tempranos para ser verano.

Le complexe est top pour les familles avec enfants en bas age ! Club enfant, plusieurs piscines, pataugeoire, parc de jeux. Nous avons séjourné en appart hôtel. Prestation ménage, lit, et gestion des ordures chaque jour ! La femme de Ménage, très agréable, souriante. Délais de réponse aux demandes très rapide. Ils ont accepté de nous changer de logement par prudence ( avec notre fils de 2 ans nous étions trop proche de la piscine)! Très bien situé géographiquement ( proche de supermarché Lidl et Aldi). Nous avons très apprécié notre séjour au sein de l’hôtel et je le conseille à mon entourage !

-Panne d'ascenseur, pas toujours évident avec poussette et enfants en bas âge -Trop de spectacle de danse par l'équipe d'animation. Bien que les spectacles soient de qualité, il est regrettable que ça prennent autant de temps aux animateurs qui parfois écourtent les temps d'animations avec les enfants pour leurs répétitions... Un peu de changement dans les animations du soir serait mieux ! Mais ça ce n'est pas l'hôtel, c'est O'CLUB.

Apartamentos de una habitación bien equipadas las cocinas para unos días y son amplios . Lo mejor si vas con niños son los toboganes que tienen para que disfruten. Tiene restaurante , una pequeña multitienda y lavandería que viene muy bien si te alojas muchos días. Para ir al centro hay que ir en coche, está un poquito lejos. Hay aparcamientos cerca.

Ponía que hacían las habitaciones y en la nuestra no vino nadie en 5 días y uno de ellos se presentó una chica a las 16:00 de la tarde a decirnos que venía a hacernos la habitación. Lamentable el servicio de limpieza. Las piscinas cerraban los toboganes a las 18:00 de la tarde cosa que para los españoles es muy pronto

Locația a fost foarte bună. Pe dinafară hotelul arată super bine. Multe piscine. Activități intreaga zi inclusiv disco party pentru copii. Și parcare mare

Curățenia lasă de dorit. Mucegai în baie și curgea apa din tavan în baie. Mobila era învechită și ruptă canapeaua. În interior se vede ca nu sunt modernizări făcute d emulti ani și nici întreținute corespunzător. Pernele foarte inconfortabile. Paturile sunt cele mai ieftine posibile( cadru de metal și o saltea) care se mișcau continuu și a trebuit să le legăm să putem avea un pat dublu. Având în vedere ca am stat cu un copil, curățenia e superficială. Furnici și gândaci de bucătărie. Bucătăria era dotată până și cu spray de gândaci, deci era cunoscută problema.

L'accueil top le restau pas mal sauf les desserts et le personnel est très sympa et très compétent

Les cafards près des poubelles, les chambres pas assez propres le ménage n'est pas fait sous les lits et n'est pas très bien fait. Une piscine chauffée aussi serait sympa pour les plus petits.

We were in the premier apartments which were ok they needed a bit of tlc the breakfast was good lots of choice too fill you up,the adult pool was nice,the beach was quite a bit of a walk not ten minutes.A good time lace for families.

Nice apartment, clean and spacious. Grounds lovely with a huge pool and smaller pools near each apartment block. We went in March so it was quiet. Entertainment disappointing, a lot was in French which we weren’t aware of prior to booking. Location isn’t great ~ approx 15 mins walk to bars and restaurants. Probs easier in summer but out of season when colder not the best. In summer when apartments is busy, I’m sure atmosphere is great but out of season, it’s to big to have few guests so felt flat.

Me encantó, el personal del hotel, las instalaciones, cercanía a la playa, situación, muchas piscinas y la comida estupenda. La habitación supercomoda. Repetiríamos sin duda.

El único punto negativo, el personal de animación que a pesar de animar, hacer unos Shows estupendos e interactuar con los clientes se referían prácticamente la público Francés, incluso al acabar los espectáculos solo hablaban en ese idioma al despedirse, quedando el resto sobre todo los niños sin enterarse de nada.

Loved it! Easy to get to from the airport (about 30 minute transfer), we arrived late and were given picnics (ham and cheese sandwiches, apple, pear and water). Looked a lot more complicated on the map than it was when you walked it and found our lovely apartment without issues. Beds and sofa beds all made up. We were on the ground floor with friendly cats and even a hedgehog making visits. Lovely shower (some black mold on the ceiling but the rest of the place was lovely and clean). Facilities So many pools we were spoilt for choice. All enjoyed the splash parks and the large pool with slides, wide steps and a shallow section. Hot tub outside our section which broke unfortunately but this wasn’t an issue as there are so many! One child used the football pitch, pool tables and tennis court. We briefly visited the kids club and used the small soft play. We went to a couple of the play parks and arcades. Pool bar was reasonably priced though they got our order wrong everytime! We got a free tub of ice cream for each drink though. Supermarket is small but well priced e.g. one Euro for a can of Diet Coke. Staff Everyone we met was friendly, professional and kind to the children. Staff were continually working on the grounds, palm trees and rooms. Food We were half board plus which meant we got breakfast and dinner. Dinner changed some items each day and had a man grilling a variety of foods each time. Plenty of choice - haute cuisine it ain’t but perfectly edible, some items very tasty and enough to satisfy everyone’s needs. Leaving Very easy; left our key at reception and put our luggage in a locked room. Collected towels and spent hours in the pool and then went to the showers located near the shop where we could freshen up before getting the coach back to the airport. Disadvantages Had laughed a little at comments of the ten minute walk to the beach but in practice it wasn’t that pleasant a walk, past derelict plots and very little shade. It was also substantially more than ten minutes with a three year old in tow. Conclusion We will be back. It was incredible value for money and so safe and relaxed.

We recently returned to TBH Tropical Island for our fifth stay, and once again, it did not disappoint! Our family, consisting of myself, my partner, and our two children (ages 13 and 7), had an amazing time, just as we have in previous years. Accommodations: The rooms were perfectly clean and well-maintained, with daily cleaning service (except Sundays). Towels were replaced as needed; I always made a pile of dirty towels, and they were promptly exchanged. Additionally, bedding is changed every second day, which we greatly appreciated. It was a pleasure to come back to a tidy space after a day of exploring. Facilities: One of the highlights this year was the newly built arcade area, which our kids loved! The main pool area features a splash park for kids of all ages, along with some fun water slides. The pools and pool areas were cleaned daily, and lifeguards are present at every pool every day from 10 AM to 6 PM, always very observant, ensuring a safe environment for everyone. Dining: We opted for the half board plus option this year, as all-inclusive wasn’t available during our booking. However, we heard from other guests that there’s an option to upgrade upon arrival, which is something we’ll consider for next time. The food was fantastic, offering a range of options that catered to both adults and kids alike. Staff: The staff at TBH Tropical Island are simply outstanding. A gentleman named Otman from the dining hall always put a smile on our faces; he’s a lovely man! The animation team also works their butts off to get everyone involved, organizing games around the main pool, aqua gym sessions, and the mini disco at night for the kids, along with everything in between. Their energy and enthusiasm truly enhance the overall experience. Convenience: Even though there is a great on-site shop, the new Aldi just a 5-minute walk outside the back gate is fabulous for stocking the fridge and picking up extra snacks for the room. Conclusion: We are already looking to book our next stay for next year! TBH Tropical Island continues to be our favorite destination in Lanzarote, and we can’t wait to return to this wonderful oasis that feels like a second home. Highly recommended for families looking for a memorable vacation! Suggestions for Improvement: If I were to be picky, there are two things that could enhance the stay even further. First, having a freezer space inside the fridge would be beneficial, especially for those who are self-catering. Second, it would be great to have a change machine in the arcade area to convert notes into Euros, as the staff in the dome are happy to assist, but having it available on-site would be convenient.

Very basic, horrible beds

We had booked a family hotel in another hotel but it was not suitable for my nut allergy & daughter’s medical condition called PKU. From the first moment we walked into this premises we were out at ease. I can’t praise the staff enough from the reception area to housekeeping & the restaurant staff - polite friendly cheerful & nothing was ever too much I’ve a nut allergy & when asked what foods could I have there was never an issue unlike some other hotels. There was so much food variety to suit every taste & every evening and as different. I wouldn’t be a dessert person but the mousse & coconut rolls outstanding never tasted anything as nice light & full of flavour My daughter now is planning next year’s return just to see the staff - she said it was 100/100 Pools for every person The whole premises was so clean so fresh so comfortable Amazing power shower soft towels soft bed - can’t fault this hotel on anything There is a small supermarket & spa (unfortunately never got to visit it but will do next visit) games room laundry room bar & restaurant

Nos encantaron las piscinas con sus toboganes, los recreativos, los billares, las actuaciones nocturnas y las diferentes actividades a las que se podian acceder; petanca, tenis, futbol, bolley-ball... El ambiente es familiar y el personal es muy amable, hacen que tu estancia sea como estar en casa rodeados de una gran familia. Agradecer especialmente a Urko, Madeli y Fidelio por su profesionalidad y buen hacer.

Cuando llegamos habia hormigas en el baño y en la habitación, pero se soluciono rapidamente. No es algo que me pillara por sorpresa pq lo habia leido en comentarios de otro cliente. Es algo q puede pasar estando en una planta baja y con el jardin al lado. Mejoraria la limpieza en las piscinas grandes (zona entre la piscina y el bar) y en las zonas comunes al lado de los apartamentos, ya q por el aire que hacia se caian hojas y plasticos tanto a la psicina como en las otras zonas. Diariamente he visto como se limpiaba, pero creo q deberia hacerse un refuerzo a media mañana y media tarde por alguien que pueda pasar a echar un vistazo y retirar los plasticos/hojas q pueda traer el viento o si han caido a la piscina poder retirarlos. Con este comentario de mejora no estoy queriendo ser quisquillosa, sino que siento q es una pena que las instlaciones se puedan ver perjudicadas...es un hotel precioso.

El personal de recepción, muy atento y amable,les pedimos cambio de habitación, por comodidad con los niños e hicieron todo lo posible hasta que encontraron una solución.

Me decepcionó todo en general,nada estaba mal,pero todo muy mejorable,la limpieza y mantenimiento del apartamento muy mejorable, las camas incómodas,las piscinas descuidadas,las instalaciones muy básicas... Pero lo que más me desilusionó fue la animación que está destinada al público Francés e Inglés principalmente, de hecho el que más o menos, "chapurrea" Español,la mayoria no entienden ni "papa" los niños iban al mini club a pintar y poco más,por que no podían interactuar con ellos ya que no hablan español o alguno que medio se hace entender,y se centraban en los niños que hablaban su idioma,con lo que no podían, ni querian participar en las actividades de niños,por que no entendía nada. No ha sido barato para lo que es.

Fuimos con dos niños de 3 y 5 años durante seis días y lo pasamos muy bien y estuvimos cómodos. Las piscinas y las actividades para niños lo mejor. El apartamento suficiente para los cuatro. Bien dotado y limpio. Personal amable e instalaciones bien mantenidas.

Tal vez el bufé termina cansando un poco tantos días seguidos (teníamos media pensión), aunque está bien si vas con niños.

El Spa

Stayed with my 9 year old for 7days breakfast only. We had a lovely time in this resort. Its clean and the grounds are lovely, lots of wildlife and a fish pond. My child had so much fun in the pool and using the slides and splash park. He made loads of friends easily. The resort was mostly French, English and Spainish. The breakfast was really nice with a huge section of fruits, cold meats and bread. The hot food was nice aswell. The life guards are always watching and looking out for the children so I felt very safe knowing they are doing their job properly. There have been lots of reviews about the entertainment/ animation crew. And sadly I didnt experience anything amazing. Apart on the running mat on the pool there wasn't much else going on during the day. The evening entertainment was dissapointing. Do not bother going to watch the magician, it was a sad sad show that we left after 15mins because it was so bad. There is also a huge que for drinks so get them before the show starts to avoid waiting. Overall we had a great holiday and would recommend.

Good location, excellent gym, lovely pools and friendly staff. Went self catering which was ideal. Did the premium apartments which had enough kitchen equipment to make up the basics.

Honest Review of Our Stay at THB Tropical Island, Playa Blanca This is the most honest review I can give of our stay at THB Tropical Island in Playa Blanca. I am not writing this to slate the hotel or be negative for the sake of it. I believe if something is good, it deserves praise, and if something needs improvement, it should be mentioned honestly. My intention is simply to give future guests a balanced account of our experience so they can make an informed decision before booking. Location & Transfers Firstly, Playa Blanca itself is beautiful. The scenery, views, restaurants, and atmosphere are genuinely lovely. However, anyone who is used to Puerto del Carmen should know that it is a very different experience. Puerto del Carmen has everything on your doorstep. Playa Blanca is much more spread out, and you will rely more heavily on taxis and transport. To give people a realistic idea: * Taxi from the airport to THB Tropical Island cost approximately €65. * The return journey was roughly the same. * There is a bus service available, but it is a long journey and not ideal for anyone who suffers from travel sickness. That is not a criticism of the hotel, simply something visitors should be aware of before travelling. Arrival & Initial Room Concerns Upon arrival, we went to our allocated room and immediately noticed several concerns. The front door felt worn and unstable, with a visible gap showing signs of age and wear. It did not inspire confidence from a security point of view. As we were travelling as two adults and one child, we opened the sofa bed and found items left underneath it. At that point, we decided not to unpack and returned directly to reception to request a room change. At the same time, we attempted to contact Cassidy Travel, through whom we had booked the holiday. Cassidy Travel Emergency Contact Unfortunately, the emergency out-of-hours number provided by Cassidy Travel did not work when we attempted to contact it. As a result, we were unable to receive immediate assistance while abroad and had to wait until the next working day before speaking with anyone. When I eventually got through, I spoke with Sarah, who was excellent throughout the process. She listened carefully, explained everything clearly, reviewed the information we provided, and escalated the matter appropriately. Sarah deserves recognition because she handled the situation professionally and genuinely tried to help. Room Upgrade The hotel staff were polite and attempted to assist us. However, we were informed that the only available alternative was an upgraded room at an additional cost of €100. Because we were only staying for five days and wanted to start enjoying our holiday, we agreed to pay the fee. The upgraded room was noticeably cleaner, better maintained, and presented to a much higher standard. Ant Infestation & Second Room Move Unfortunately, after returning from a day out, we discovered an ant infestation in the upgraded room despite all doors and windows being closed. I fully understand that Lanzarote is a warm climate and that ants can occasionally occur. The ants themselves were not necessarily the issue. The issue was that after already paying an additional €100 to move rooms, we then found ourselves facing another problem and having to move yet again. Staff responded and we were ultimately moved to another room. Having multiple room changes during a five-day holiday inevitably disrupted the overall experience. Hotel Management Response This is where I want to be completely fair. Manuel, the manager, dealt with the situation professionally and respectfully. Most importantly, Patricia, one of the directors of the hotel, was absolutely exceptional. Patricia is a genuine credit to THB. She took the time to sit down with us, listen to everything that had happened, understand our concerns, and deal with the situation in a calm, professional, and caring manner. She never made us feel like we were being difficult. Instead, she focused on finding solutions and ensuring our concerns were properly addressed. As a result of Patricia’s involvement: * The €100 room upgrade fee was refunded. * Complimentary breakfast was provided as a goodwill gesture. Her professionalism and approach genuinely changed how we felt about the situation. Breakfast Goodwill Gesture As part of the goodwill gesture arranged by Patricia, we were invited to breakfast. We were genuinely grateful for this. However, when we arrived and presented the arrangement, the member of staff on duty appeared confused and looked us up and down as though she was unsure why we were there. This may simply have been a language barrier, and I do not want to make more of it than that. Once we explained that the arrangement had been authorised by Patricia and management, everything was sorted. It was only a small issue, but it did slightly take away from what was otherwise a very thoughtful gesture. Facilities & Refurbishment Works During our stay, we discovered that several facilities were closed for refurbishment, including: * Indoor pool * Sauna * Jacuzzi area While refurbishment work is understandable and often necessary, this information was not clearly communicated to us before arrival. Knowing this in advance would have helped us manage our expectations. Pools & Grounds The outdoor pools were extremely cold. In our opinion, they were cold enough that many guests simply chose not to use them. This significantly reduced our enjoyment of the pool facilities. However, the grounds themselves deserve a great deal of praise. The resort is enormous and can initially feel overwhelming because of its size, but the grounds are exceptionally well maintained. There is clearly a huge amount of work, effort, and investment going into the landscaping, gardens, and upkeep of the outdoor areas. The exterior presentation of the resort is excellent. Renovation Programme I understand that THB Tropical Island is currently undergoing a major refurbishment programme and that many rooms are being upgraded to a much higher standard. Having experienced one of the upgraded rooms, I can genuinely see the direction the hotel is heading. Based on our experience, I would strongly recommend requesting one of the upgraded rooms if available, as the difference in quality was noticeable. Some of the older accommodation clearly still requires attention, but I appreciate that these improvements cannot happen overnight. If the remaining rooms are eventually brought up to the same standard as the refurbished accommodation, I genuinely believe the resort could become something very special. The potential is absolutely there. Important Context Just to be clear: * We understand that ants can occasionally be an issue in warm climates. * We understand that the hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment. * We were not expecting perfection. The main issue was the combination of the original room condition, the additional €100 upgrade cost, and the disruption caused by having to move rooms multiple times during a short holiday. We simply expected a more consistent standard from the beginning. Positives * Beautiful location in Playa Blanca. * Excellent grounds and outdoor maintenance. * Strong refurbishment programme underway. * Helpful and professional response from Sarah at Cassidy Travel. * Manuel handled our concerns professionally. * Patricia was outstanding throughout our stay. * The €100 upgrade fee was refunded. * Goodwill gestures were provided. * Management genuinely listened and attempted to resolve issues. Negatives * Condition of the original room was below expectations. * Front door showed signs of significant wear. * Items found underneath the sofa bed on arrival. * Ant infestation requiring another room move. * Multiple room changes during a short stay. * Indoor facilities unavailable due to refurbishment. * Closure of facilities not clearly communicated beforehand. * Outdoor pools were extremely cold. * Cassidy Travel emergency contact number did not work when needed. * Communication regarding the breakfast arrangement could have been smoother. Overall Conclusion This review is not intended to criticise for the sake of criticism. It is simply an honest reflection of our experience. Based on our stay, we would personally rate the experience as three stars at this moment in time. However, we can clearly see the potential of the resort. The grounds are excellent, the location is beautiful, and the refurbishment programme appears to be moving the hotel in the right direction. Most importantly, Patricia and Manuel gave us confidence in the future of the resort. They listened, acted professionally, and genuinely cared about resolving the issues we encountered. They are a real credit to THB and give us confidence that the improvements are in very capable hands. Despite the issues we experienced, I do not want this review to come across as saying we would never return. The reality is that we can see the improvements being made, and if we were guaranteed one of the upgraded rooms similar to the final room we stayed in, we would absolutely consider returning. In fact, for future visits to Lanzarote, we would likely split our holiday between THB Flora in Puerto del Carmen and THB Tropical Island in Playa Blanca. That would allow us to enjoy both sides of the island while also returning to two locations that each offer something different. The key point is that we would want to stay in one of the upgraded rooms, as the difference in quality was noticeable and made for a much better experience. This review is simply intended to provide an honest, balanced account of our stay, highlighting both the strengths of the resort and the areas that still require attention.

The Hotel seemed to be extremely quiet. Not sure if it’s because it’s low season and it wasn’t school holidays. However, the peace and quiet suited me and my adult daughter. The grounds were huge and pedestrianised. We were quite surprised on our first morning there that the Cleaner was knocking at the door at 8.45. I know some people are up with the lark, but there is no way we can be ready and on the beach by that time! In fact, we were just sat having our breakfast, having just arrived the evening before. I did find for the rest of the holiday that I was on edge trying to be out of the room so the Cleaner could get in! It was not her fault as she was just trying to get her work done but I strongly suggest a “do not disturb” Door sign so that the occupants can relax, and the Cleaner does not waste her time knocking and then returning constantly to check if the room is vacant. I would highly recommend this hotel for families. There were plenty of swimming pools with empty sunbeds and family friendly evening entertainment. Everywhere was very clean. The gardens were beautiful, especially the ones near the rear of the Hotel near the big family pool. The 20 minute walk to the beach (through the back gate) each day became a bit tedious. However, the Hotel did put on a twice daily shuttle bus, which is particularly useful if you have mobility issues. The nearest beach to the Hotel was the playa Dorada. It seemed to be the only local beach that offered sunbeds and parasols for hire - and at €15 for two beds and a parasol it was good value. There’s also a good snack bar above it that has its own toilets. Just a suggestion, I think a shuttle bus to the Rubicon Marina on an evening would be good. The Reception team were happy to book you a taxi, but sometimes it was hard to get hold of one. In fact, on a couple of evenings we had to walk down to the marina which was 40 minutes each way. .

I loved the accommodation type, as there was a pool on our doorstep so you could nip in and out to get food or go to the toilet. Kids could go in to get a break from the sun too. Also it was just a 15 minute walk to the town. Aldi is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Our kids went to kids club a few days and they really enjoyed it.

The food wasn't up to much. We didn't have any included but did try the breakfast one morning and got something from the snack bar ,but It wasn't nice at all. Kids entertainment wasn't great, but I had read similar reviews before we came, it wouldn't influence my choice

Le complexe est grand et très propre. Les chambres sont spacieuses et bien aménagées.

Cependant les chambres et salles de bain sont vieillissantes et manquent de fraîcheur. Les salles de restauration sont en sous sol et c’est vraiment dommage. Les piscines non chauffées en avril ne sont pas accessibles (trop froides) et les piscines chauffées ça passe mais c’est juste. Et manque de bol pour nous (ou pas) mais le SPA était fermé.

Had a lovely holiday here, staff friendly and helpful without being intrusive. We went half board, the options on the buffet breakfast and dinner had a wide selection of all sorts of foods, kids were always thrilled to see the chocolate fountain & marshmallows as a pudding option. No issues with getting sunbeds by main pool, which is a decent size and lovely in the sun and has slides in one section. There is also a splash park for younger children. Our room overlooked the main pool to the front and one of the smaller pools to the back, we didn't use it but also could have got beds by it if wanted. Hotel policy was not to reserve beds but all guests while we were there were pretty reasonable and didn't hog beds unnecessarily. The entertainment is mainly provided by the French holiday rep company on site but they always included other nationalities if they could, especially the kids disco. Hotel is approx 10-15 minutes walk to the beach then you can walk up and down the front passing multiple shops and restaurants, plenty of options for those wanting to do self catering. The rooms do provide some cooking facilities, good for morning coffee and toast but probably not ideal for a full meal. Small downside is the decor probably needs some attention; cracked tiles, paint, some rust on hinges on cupboards - mainly cosmetic and we saw plenty of cleaning and maintenance staff to cover any simple issues. Overall we enjoyed our stay, great for a relaxing and worry-free holiday. Thank you to the staff for good food and great service 🙂

Loved the hotel. We normally stay 4 or 5 star but could not fault our stay. We had half board normally swapping the evening meal for lunch. The food was of good quality, particularly the breakfast. The room was spacious and well equipped some of the rooms/apartment blocks have there own pools. The kids loved the water slides and splash park. The main pool areas were very clean and the entertainment team were fantastic. All the the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The gym and spa area along with the adults only pool area were also great. The hotel is a short 10/15 minute walk down to the beach area where there are many restaurants shops and bars. We would definitely stay again.

This was our third time to this hotel and it did not disappoint! We booked this break to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we had the best time! The hotel rooms are clean and spacious and the grounds are very pretty with many pools and palm trees. I contacted the hotel with a request before my holiday started and was blown away with the helpfulness and care that they provided especially Patricia who could not do enough for us. We are extremely grateful. The pool area is wonderful and you choose whether you want to use the main pool or one of the many smaller ones dotted around the complex. Pool bar had some amazing cocktails and the Pizza was also really nice. You could opt to have pizza to take away which I thought was great and we sat and ate ours on our balcony. The hotel is only a 10/15 min walk to the beach and promenade of playa blanca and nice and central between the harbour and the marina. All of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and we look forward to booking again. Thank you all at Thb tropical island for helping us make some more special memories!

This is the worst hotel ever. You can’t even get a towel each to have a shower despite making 3 requests. We are all paying the same price but despite asking and the hotel say they will send towels, they don’t. The towels are just one of the issues but stay away from here, it’s disgusting 🤢

El desayuno era lo que mejor estaba. La cocina en directo muy bien tortillas de patatas recién hechas,tortillas francesas con queso, tomate,jamón York,etc y huevos fritos(a la plancha).

El complejo es muy grande con mucha distancia desde que te recepcionan hasta la habitación(tienes que tirar de maletas) es matador(solo unos pocos carros) como los del aeropuerto para cargar maletas para todo el complejo. Las habitaciones no están preparadas para la lluvia ni aislar del frío o del calor.Durante la estancia llovió y se metió el agua en una de las habitaciones(127) por la ventana del salón y de la habitación,mantenimiento de las estancias muy malo(se debe invertir para poder ganar). Respecto a la limpieza,solamente te hacen la cama y pasan la fregona y cambio de toallas,el baño guarda muchísimo la humedad con lo que todo el polvo del suelo,pelos,etc se queda pegado al mismo suelo,se debería pasar mopa para ese tipo de suciedad y después fregar.No te cambian las sábanas. Bastante polvo en la mesilla de la habitación donde está el teléfono,entre la caja fuerte y el armario,y en la ranura de la puerta del baño(en estas zonas no se ha pasado una aspiradora o quitado el polvo nunca).La limpieza es bastante superficial debido a que tienen poco personal para el complejo tan grande que es y el tiempo de limpieza(trabajo) da para lo que da. Poca inversión por parte de los terratenientes(dueños) de los complejos en personal y en mantenimiento de todo el complejo. Con todo lo que cobran y ganan....ya podrían aflojar más el bolsillo ya que las construcciones en las islas son de pésima y bajísima calidad,sin aislamiento alguno,ventanas que no cierran,que no ajustan,que no aíslan,y un largo etc.....

10th stay at THB Tropical Island Playa Blanca since 2022. We've been visiting Lanzarote for 20ish years, stayed at various resorts, hotels, but happily a few years ago another hotel could not us meet our dates and we chose THB, A stroke of luck and we would not go anywhere else if visiting Lanzarote. What brings our family back: Staff - they put holiday makers first and want everyone to have their best holiday. Pools - loads of them to suit everyone. Adults only pool - peaceful and newly refurbished. Hotel grounds - so much greenery and well maintained. Sunbeds - 100s of them no fights at 6am for one! Rooms - really spacious and well maintained, I don't care if my favourite/preferred room is dated, it's kept clean and fresh by maids, I get fresh towels, bedding etc regularly, no need to ask. Restaurants - great value/choice at the buffet restaurant and Atlantic for take away or eat in for pizza, pasta etc, plus same price for eating in our takeaway! Issues - sorted within minutes. Entertainment - for kids and adults. Location - 10 minutes to "town" and beach or 15 minutes to marina. Hotel - spacious and quiet. It never feels over crowded. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough - next stay September, see you then😁

Me and my family loved our holiday here , kids loved the pools and the show each night , kids club was good anytime they used it was a bit quiet but understandable this time of the year , first time in playa blanca and really enjoyed it will be back.

Place is definitely family oriented, which is exact what we needed. Plenty of swimming pools as well as water slides and splashing areas are great, for all ages. There is also shops and party places, sport pitches and other play areas. Its definitely a great place to stay for families.

Kitchen annex was a bit poor equipped, could be a bit challenging if you like to cook some meals. But you can still manage if you try.

Très bon séjour dans l’ensemble. L’hôtel était très bien, propre, agréable et le personnel a été réactif et professionnel. Les enfants se sont vraiment bien amusés, ils ont passé de super vacances. Le seul point négatif a été un problème de fourmis dans l’appartement, qui envahissaient nos courses. Mais dès que nous avons informé l’hôtel, ils ont pris la situation au sérieux et sont intervenus rapidement. Le problème a été réglé en deux jours. Mis à part cela, rien à dire, nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Merci à toute l’équipe.

Deluxe room very basic but clean, grounds very well kept. Great for the kids, football pitches, tennis courts volleyball courts to keep them entertained as well as a massive pool with slides and plenty of quieter pools around as well. Staff are amazing, Fini at the pool bar was so friendly and made the best cocktails!

Deluxe rooms not very deluxe, very basic. As a family of four we also found them a bit small but didn't spend much time in room so it was fine.

The property has different “islands” it’s like a little village with most having its own child friendly big pool and smaller pool or a play park, the main pool with the slides and splash park are great, there is a little aldi literally 2 minutes away from the back gate which you can pay a deposit for a card to get in and out of which is returnable, the town centre is about 15 minutes walk from the back gate and the closest beach with water sports and calm water is 10 minutes away. Our rooms were interconnecting too.

The WiFi in our room didn’t work, and the pools were cold although state heated in these months but refreshing still on the cloudier days the pools were empty. The all inclusive is very pricey for what it is, but the managers were really lovely and accommodating and very helpful.

No one explained about the pool towel concept. About the deposits etc. Shoud have been given this info at check in. Check out time was 12 in booking.com but when asked at reception we were told 11. Thankfully staff allowed us extra time to check out.

Las habitaciones están bien pero necesitan algunas mejoras, en la cocina la placa eléctrica tardaba un montón en calentar, y en el baño cambiar la bañera por una buena ducha creo que sería más práctico.

El apartamento era amplio,con una terraza que me encantó En cada sitio una piscina y la piscina con los toboganes genial. Recepcionistas muy amables y siempre atentos a ayudar.

We have just returned from the hotel and I wanted to write a review to thank all the staff we encountered. I travelled for a last minute short trip with my youngest two kids without my husband. My son had a medical emergency on our first night, which was not a nice experience in a foreign country. Patricia the hotel manager was absolutely amazing to us during our time there, she provided us with everything we needed and checked on us daily, I felt safe staying there. All the staff were kind and helpful that we encountered. Thank you Patricia xxx

Arrived late at night and honestly the welcome set the tone straight away 🙌 Reception were great and even the security guard walked me to my room — nice touch after a long day travelling. First impression of the room… BIG. Like properly spacious. Everything you need if you’re doing self-catering — no messing about. Bed was super comfy too, which always matters after a late arrival. And then… two balconies 😅 Yes, TWO. So you can literally pick your vibe depending on the time of day. There’s also a supermarket on site and it’s actually decent — not one of those overpriced tiny shops. Had everything I needed which made things really easy. Breakfast was a win as well. And I’ve got to say — first time I’ve had proper sausages in mainland Spain or the Canaries 👀 so that was a result. Overall, really nice stay. Chill, easy, no stress. Only reason it’s not a full 5⭐ from me is the weather — bit unlucky there, but obviously nothing the hotel can do about that. Would I come back? 👉 100% yes.

L'hôtel bénéficie d'un excellent emplacement. Il est assez spacieux et propose fréquemment des animations pour divertir les enfants. Il est également très bien équipé, avec un bar sportif, un spa et de nombreuses piscines. Le rapport qualité-prix était excellent. Je le recommande vivement pour un agréable séjour en famille.

Je dois admettre que j'ai rencontré quelques difficultés avec la literie. Pour ma part, la qualité de la literie est d'une importance capitale, et après avoir l'habitude d'un couchage haut de gamme chez moi, j'ai trouvé le matelas de l'hôtel un peu moins confortable.
