It’s a long walk to anywhere, and the Metro is a 15 minute walk away. It’s also a popular venue for weddings, baptisms and parties. The staff prioritise these events and regular guests are somewhat ignored.

A piscina interior era muito boa. A exterior também era bastante agradável. O pequeno almoço era variado e bastante bom, os egg benedict eram incríveis.

A limpeza precisa muito de ser revista. Tínhamos sempre o cuidado de colocar as fraldas dos nossos filhos na varanda, num saco fechado para que levassem quando fizessem o quarto e houve um dia que nem levaram. O chão da varanda nunca era limpo e o do apartamento também duvido que fosse. No último dia encontrei formigas na zona dos cereais do pequeno almoço o que é super inadmissível. Também não está clara a escolha dos quartos pela booking, tivemos questões no acto do check in mas felizmente foram resolvidos pelo recepcionista. Na hora do pequeno almoço as meninas nem tinham mãos a medir com tanta gente, atribuíram nos uma mesa com o chão todo sujo porque tinha estado lá a comer uma criança (normal estar sujo, não é normal é não terem o cuidado de limpar)

* Spacious & Stylish Rooms: The room was large, comfortably furnished, and featured classic, elegant decor. * Exceptional Comfort: The bed was big and very cozy, and the entire property was filled with a lovely, subtle fragrance. * Outstanding Staff: Everyone on the team was incredibly attentive, helpful, and welcoming throughout the stay. * Great Breakfast: A wide variety of options with solid, high-quality offerings to start the day. * Beautiful Grounds: The outdoor spaces, including the expansive gardens and children’s playground, were absolutely fantastic.

* Bathroom Water Pressure: The sink had very poor water pressure. * TV Setup: The bedrooms lack Smart TVs, and the protective glare screen over the television forces you to keep the room dark just to watch it without harsh reflections. * Restrictive Pool Rules: Children under 16 are barred from the pool during certain schedules. It feels overly rigid—and disappointing for families—when kids aren't allowed in even while the pool sits completely empty and unused by adults. * Minor Missing Touches: A complimentary (unpaid) bottle of welcome water in the room would have been a nice touch, and adding a piano in the common areas would enhance the ambiance.

Petit déjeuner complet et excellent. Y en a pour tout le monde et les goûts de chacuns. L hôtel se trouve à 3kg à pied du vieux port de Porto et du Centre historique. Hôtel calme et propre qui vaut ses étoiles. Les équipements sont supers et les employés très professionnels. Le seul hic, à mon goût, c est le prix des repas bien que le plat soit copieux mais cela reste cher pour 2 personnes quand on a pas prit d alcool et autres. Autour de l hôtel, vous pouvez trouvez des endroits pour manger. À faire idéalement en couple. On le refera.

Beautiful grounds,pool and the rooms were clean and had everything you need for a comfortable stay,however it didn't feel like a 5* experience. The bar was nice but the bar food was poor, chicken breast with sriachia mayo arrived as processed chicken nuggets that were not what they were advertised to be. Service in the restaurant for breakfast was disappointing, once seated and our drinks order taken we were left for 30 minutes waiting, in the meantime we had eaten our breakfast and felt it was chaotic. The buffet breakfast was luke warm and staff seemed rushed although the restaurant was not at capacity. On checking in we were not offered a seat at reception but the receptionist was seated, although quite pleasent ,for the rest of the stay on walking through reception the staff never looked up or made eye contact , it felt cold and unwelcoming,no music or atmosphere.

I recently went here for a 4 day trip with my family & I chose this hotel mainly as it had both an outdoor & indoor pool & the reviews were good. However, this hotel went above & beyond what I was expecting. The hotel itself was beautifully clean & very well maintained. The grounds were beautiful & the rooms spacious, modern & of a good size. The breakfast buffet was amazing with more than enough choice & of good quality. The pool area & bar was clean, relaxing & the perfect place to switch off. With daybeds as well as pounders and garden sofas & chairs. The jewel in the crown for this hotel is undoubtedly the staff. Every member is helpful, courteous & has a smile on their face. The Hilton chain should be really proud of what their staff are doing for their guests, they do an absolutely outstanding job at pleasing the guests & keeping the hotel spotless & running like clockwork. I cannot recommend this hotel enough.

Der Weg nach Porto ist recht weit zu Fuß. Abends außerhalb des Hotels bzgl. Abendessen/ Bar etwas mühsam wenn man nicht im Hotel bleiben möchte.

A really lovely hotel. The location is a short taxi from downtown or restaurants:nightlife, so everything is easily accessible but the hotel itself is a bit more quiet which is nice. The staff were very professional and helpful in explaining things and making us comfortable. The room was very modern and comfortable - best pillows I’ve had in a while. Nice hot shower, good water pressure. Plenty of usb ports and power outlets to charge your gadgets. The breakfast was good and we had an attentive attendant. We had a nice dinner at the restaurant and my husband enjoyed an impromptu port tasting at the bar - again, great staff made sure we had a positive experience.

Let’s start with the positives because there are plenty. The hotel itself is beautiful. The rooms are modern, spotlessly clean and the bed is genuinely one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. The wonderfully soft, squishy pillows deserve a special mention too. The location is also good. The hotel is set on a steep hill above the river, so be prepared for an uphill walk if you’re returning on foot. Thankfully, Bolt (Portugal’s equivalent of Uber) is inexpensive and readily available, making it an easy way back after a day exploring. There’s also a short walk to the trams and public transport, so getting around Porto is straightforward. Unfortunately, the quality of the hotel is let down by consistently poor service and a lack of organisation. Our stay didn’t get off to the best start. We arrived before the official 3pm check-in time, which we completely understood. We were told we’d receive a message when our room was ready. No message ever came, and by 4:30pm we had to return to reception to chase it ourselves. Breakfast was, without question, the worst part of the stay. This wasn’t one bad morning—it was a recurring problem, with notable problems on 3 separate occasions. * Food orders arrived incorrectly. * Coffee regularly took around 30 minutes. * The self-service coffee machines were frequently broken. * Bread and pastries regularly ran out before breakfast had even finished. One day I requested sliced bread to make toast and was told to eat a bread roll. * Tables were overlooked while others who arrived later were served first. Our second to last breakfast summed it up perfectly. We sat down at 9:33am and watched several tables around us have their orders taken while we were completely ignored. At 9:50am we had to ask someone to take our order. Our coffees arrived shortly after 10:00am. By 10:10am we still had no food and had to complain again. Breakfast finally arrived at 10:17am—44 minutes after we sat down. Even the table next to us hadn’t had their order taken. By the end of the week, I genuinely dreaded breakfast because I expected it to be stressful rather than relaxing. That’s not how anyone should feel on holiday. Housekeeping was also inconsistent. On one occasion we had to contact reception twice (at 3.30 and 4.30) before our room was serviced. The complimentary fruit bowl remained in our room for the entire week until the fruit began to spoil, suggesting routine room checks were lacking. What frustrated us most wasn’t that mistakes happened—mistakes happen in every hotel. It was that we repeatedly had to identify the problems ourselves. We spent part of what should have been a relaxing holiday chasing coffees, chasing housekeeping, chasing check-in and chasing breakfast orders. To be fair, after we complained, the breakfast manager came over personally to apologise, which we appreciated. However, by that stage the repeated issues had already significantly affected our stay. Good service shouldn’t depend on guests having to complain first. This hotel has everything it needs to be exceptional. The rooms, facilities and location deserve five stars. Unfortunately, the service, organisation and attention to detail simply do not. This experience fell well below expectations.

Zoals je van een Hilton kan verwachten, zeer mooie locatie en voortreffelijke service, kleine 5 tot tien minuten lopen om met bus of metro naar centrum te reizen. Uitgebreid ontbijt en mooie ruime kamer.

Equipe atenciosa, café da manhã perfeito, area da piscina lindíssima.

I have just completed a 3 night stay in Porto, this hotel is simply amazing. Located just outside the main tourist area but walkable (one way a night hill). It is a peaceful and beautiful spot. The outdoor pool is lovely with a great poolside bar and the indoor spa pool with hot tub etc is really good too. Staff all polite and friendly, rooms a good size, very clean and beds super comfy. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast each day, lots of choice and lovely fresh things to pick from. We ate one night in the restaurant and this meal was really good too. All in all a great hotel, we thought a good location as we don’t mind a walk so was nice and quiet away from the hustle and bustle.

На завтраке к нам так и не подошёл никто из персонала, хотя лежало меню, по которому можно заказать еду. И была проблема с кофе - постоянно ломалась кофе машина, капучино выпить так и не удалось((( хотя его тоже можно было заказать из меню, но...никто не подошел))

The service in breakfast wasnt the best it was abit slow we ordered coffees and some mornings they didnt arrive to our table even after chasing a few times for a 5 star hotel you expect your order to come. The outdoor pool was dirty full of bugs and leaves. We enquired about late check out for extra 2 hours they said it would be 100 euros which I think is extortionate.

La atención en el restaurante en la cena fue pésimo tenía media pensión incluida lo cual supone postres ya por una ensalada de burrata me cobraron 5€ a mayores que vale acepté pero a la hora del postre estuvimos esperando media hora y no llegaba y mi marido protestó y para nuestra sorpresa nos dijeron que no había el helado que yo había pedido después de esperar 30min .. por lo cual no quisimos nada … no tuvieron ningún detalle ni disculpa A la hora del desayuno faltaban muchisismas cosas avisamos tres veces y nos fuimos sin comer las napolitanas ya que llevaban 20min en el horno supuestamente …

El hotel es precioso, en un entorno maravilloso, una finca con unos árboles y vegetación espectacular, una bodega, piscina, spa. Restaurantes en la piscina y en el interior. Un desayuno espectacular y un personal amabilísimo!

Ich Wir können das Hotel nicht bewerten, weil wir dort nicht übernachten konnten. Das Hotel war überbucht und wir wurden auf das Hilton Porto Gaia umgebucht. Die Umbuchung hat etwas gedauert, ist aber gut und ordentlich vom Hotel gemanagt werden.

Der Lärm auf dem Balkon. Große Lüftungseinheiten vor dem Balkon machen viel Lärm. Man kann dadurch den Balkon tagsüber nicht gut nützen und in der Nacht die Balkontür nicht offen lassen. Zimmer war sauber, einmal wurde der Mistkübel im Bad vergessen zum entleeren. Nur eine Kaffeemaschine beim Frühstück für über 100 Leute. Personal sehr bemüht und doch lange Kaffee Wartezeiten.

We stayed 4 nights at the Boeira Garden Hotel in June 2026. The property itself is genuinely beautiful — historic grounds, an iconic giant Port bottle, lovely gardens, nice pool, well-presented rooms. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end Structural cooling failure During our 4-night stay we were placed in three different rooms in succession. In every single room the air conditioning could not bring the temperature below 23.4°C, regardless of thermostat settings. We measured this with a calibrated temperature logger — the floor of 23.4°C was consistent across all three rooms. The reason became clear when we spotted the following in front of the balcony of the first room: there is a TRANE Rental Services Conquest DE220 rental chiller installed externally on the property. A rental chiller of ~220 kW for a 124-room five-star hotel that requires an estimated 350–600 kW of cooling is a clear signal that the central HVAC installation has structurally failed and the emergency solution is undersized. Apperently there is a similar heater as well, but irrelevant for me now. This is not a comfort grievance. The hotel sells all 124 rooms as fully air-conditioned. Guests are not informed at booking or check-in that the central cooling is on emergency rental equipment. Building-wide problem The corridor temperature measured 26.5°C. There was no detectable airflow from the ventilation grilles in the corridors. The airco in the restaurant didn't work either, despite of the heat wave. This is not a room-level issue — it's a building-wide cooling and ventilation deficit. Maintenance response The maintenance team cited a 19°C outlet temperature at the ceiling diffuser as evidence the system was "working." That is technically misleading: outlet temperature is irrelevant if the system can't bring the room to the set temperature. The only metric that matters is room temperature, which never moved below 23.4°C. Internet/Wi-fi The hotel's internet firewall blocked professional work platforms, preventing my partner from working remotely during the stay — a failure of a core advertised business amenity. Apperently the TAGA (owner of the property) employees need to work by wire as the firewall blocks the use of the wi-fi for them as well. But this is "hear say". Roof top pool bar. On the Curio web page of the Boeira is stated: "For an unforgettable experience, head to our rooftop pool bar and soak in the panoramic views." There is neither a rooftop pool bar nor a panoramic view..... Resolution To their credit, the hotel offered 50% refund on 3 of 4 nights upon check-out. The first night was excluded as a "past visit" despite the same structural issue being present throughout. The compensation was accepted under time pressure at check-out. Bottom line If you're booking outside the summer and winter months you may be fine. If you're booking June–September and rely on functional air conditioning — including for medical reasons — verify with the hotel before arrival whether the central HVAC has been permanently restored. Until then, this property is not delivering on what the Hilton Curio Collection name implies. A genuine shame, because apart from the serious annoyances it is a nice hotel

Gode faciliteter og venligt personale. Lækre forhold ved haven og poolen samt gode værelser. Perfekt til en ferie, hvor man gerne vil nye hotellet. Hvis man ikke kan lide at vandre, skal man tænke i at bestille en Uber eller taxa for at komme ned til byen.

Beliggenheden er ikke den bedste. Den ligger meget oppe i et område, hvor der ikke er meget andet end hotellet. Man skal gå ret langt for at komme til nogle vinhuse, caféer eller spisesteder. Morgenmaden var heller ikke den bedste, det så alt sammen superflot ud i morgenmadsbufferen, men det var smagsløst og kedeligt, desværre.

A wonderful gem of a hotel in Vila nova de Gaia surrounded by trees in a small park with its own winery. Outside the hustle and bustle of Porto but only a short walk downhill to the river. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the rooms are spacious. Ours had a balcony overlooking the pool. Breakfast is superb, a massive selection of hot and cold foods and drinks with even Champagne. The staff are all very welcoming charming and helpful. Luis Fonseca and the other restaurant/bar staff were a delight and so helpful in helping us choose our wines. Highly recommend

Excellent hotel and away from the busy centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely pool area and spa. Good food all round. Easy walk to the metro although we could work out how to pay for a ticket easily.

Parking is pricey but necessary if you intend to travel around the area.

Pequeno-almoço excelente com muita variedade, a piscina exterior muito boa e tranquila, o jardim do hotel é muito bonito e os funcionários foram todos muito queridos. Por ser um ambiente cheio de árvores, até esqueci que estava hospedada no meio da cidade, um verdadeiro refúgio urbano. Além disso ganhamos uma degustação gratuita dos vinhos da quinta, o que foi uma ótima surpresa

O spa muito mal iluminado, com cheiro desagradável de esgoto e mofo visível, além da piscina estar com uma cor estranha e com aspecto de suja. A água no quarto é paga e custa 3,50, o que acho um absurdo visto que até em hotéis mais simples disponibilizam água gratuita.

Pequeno almoço e jantar excelentes. Adoramos a pisc8na interior. Quarto de grandes dimensões com tudo muito pratico. Room Service muito bom também.

Gostei de tudo desde das comodidades aos funcionários. Vista fantástica e o espaço exterior do hotel maravilhosa. Restaurante com comida saborosa

We had the most fantastic city break celebrating 30 years of being together. The hotel was beautiful, great location (easy access to Porto via metro, walking or Bolt taxi) and we really appreciated the upgrade to pool view. Martha and the other reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, delicious and fresh. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed using the Spa and gym, afternoon drinks by the pool were a favourite too - thank you Dominique & colleagues. Highly recommended!

I really like the facilities. The spa sauna and swimming pool. I also like the ease of getting to the local supermarket.

I was disappointed to find that our door could not lock during our stay. I always had to look away my belongings. Every time we left the hotel room, which made me a little uncomfortable. Also wasn't too pleased with some of the staff during breakfast. As they were a bit abrupt. However, there was one young lady who was exceptionally polite. I feel like it doesn't hurt to smile. As you serve customers, the whole experience is about hospitality. I also was not too happy with the cost of the drinks. Considering we spent an awful lot on the accommodation, having to pay so much for the drinks was insane and food. Only when we left after I asked for help of our luggage. Did we get assistance? However, when we arrived, we were extremely tired and we were had to pull our own luggage to our rooms, which was inconvenient. We could have been given a trolley or asked if we needed one. We also constantlyhad to wait for staff as someone wasnt present all the time. Overall it wasn't too bad. There are no safety mats in shower neither were there anywhere to keep shower stuff. The TV stopped working on our last day and there was nothing left to do.

Nice check in - spacious lobby. Rooms sparkly clean. One of the best breakfast buffets we’ve seen. Great pool - lots of room/chairs. Steep walk straight (15 min) downhill to the river. Loads of shops & restaurants there.

This is not a 5 star hotel. It does offer 5 star location and staff. Five star hotels do not have shampoo and body wash bottles stuck on the wall like a Travel Lodge. Also 5 star hotels have doors on bathrooms and provide baths. My wife and I have been intimate for over 50 year but we still like privacy when doing our ablutions.

Wonderful hotel with a fantastic huge indoor pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi, and a beautiful outdoor pool in front of the original villa. All surrounded by a delightful garden and charming staff, overall a perfect stay:)

Lovely hotel with mainly excellent staff. Loved the indoor spa, big pool, very hot sauna and steam room. Would have liked a hand rail to get into the jacuzzi. Outdoor pool was good too. Pool bar food was good as were the mojito jugs! Food in the main restaurant was good, 5 star hotel prices. Room was fine, if a little on the small side. Bathroom lovely and big! Servicing of the room was inconsistent, requests were more or less eventually sorted out!! Location is ok, but ubers are so remarkably cheap and efficient in Porto, it wasn't a problem. Steep walk down to the riverfront, WOW and the centre.

Nice hotel

Staff were slow - we had quite a long wait to check-in, also in the bar for food service was poor. Air conditioning did not work - I informed them twice but still not fixed so quite uncomfortable in the room
