Only thing wrong with this visit was that we had to leave! Our stay in Sorrento was perfect, largely because of the accommodations here. Our suite was a dream and we wanted for nothing. The views were stunning, the location perfect, the food was great the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special. A special thanks to the front desk staff who helped us with a very unfortunate situation and who were so sweet to me. This is a place I hope to visit again! Grazie Mille!

We were sad to leave such a wonderful hotel after a week's stay. We can't wait to return. Excellent and professional staff who looked after us so very well, Antonella from housekeeping, Franco and the team at breakfast and dinner, the two Guiseppe's at the spiaggia, and Anna, Alessandro, Fredinando and Giancarlo on the terrace. We had an absolutely incredible time at Grand Hotel Ambasciatori. The room was bright, clean, and comfortable. The hotel grounds are spectacular--so beautiful and so many different options where you can relax and enjoy the incredible view. The private beach was incredible. The food was very good and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

The Ambasciatori is stunning and ticks all the boxes for perfection on so many levels, so I won't repeat what others have posted. My only complaint is that the hotel, unlike other 5 Star hotels, does not provide hotel shuttle service to/from the port. We had to pay 50 euros for round-trip taxi transportation. Other than that, our stay was phenomenal.

The pool and beach area were fantastic! The sea and sunset views were spectacular! The chamber maids were also excellent! The breakfast was wonderful and the staff were very attentive and friendly!

The property was a little far out from the old town, having spent most of the day out and about exploring! It would be helpful if there was a shuttle service. Additionally for the price the TVs could do with an upgrade to be smart TVs to allow streaming/casting! The beach club lunch menu could also do with a bit more variety! It’s a limited menu for a multi day stay!

The GHA is a wonderful hotel set atop a cliff and looking out at Mount Vesuvius, with a glamorous and majestic feel. It is located within walking distance of central Sorrento, but far enough away to have a calm, serene feel. The garden lounge is peaceful, overlooking the Bay of Naples and the mountain, and a perfect place to read a book, enjoy a cocktail, or simply enjoy the stunning scenery. The stand-out, however, is the private beach. Accessible by an elevator built into the cliff and through a stone walkway, the beach area features an elevated dock with loungers and sun umbrellas, and a private swimming area protected by rocks. The beach club staff are a dream - friendly, attentive, and kind - and I enjoyed seeing them each day. During my 5-day visit, I stayed in a suite which featured an entry foyer with two large closets, a lounge area with sofa and desk, a very comfortable king sized bed, and a small balcony with two chairs. The room was comfortable and quiet, and I loved the small details, such as USB charging ports throughout the space. One of the highlights of our stay was breakfast. The dining area has a bank of windows that face Mount Vesuvius, offering a fantastic morning view. The food was tasty - omelettes and pancakes were a highlight, as was the fruit bar and selection of cheeses. As with the beach club, the staff in the dining area and throughout the hotel were a dream. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend the Ambasciatori to others.

Zeer mooi hotel en perfecte ligging. De eigen zwemfaciliteiten aan zee was heel goed en zeer goede service. Zwembad idem. Mooie tuinen en terrassen. Echt super. Niet direct in het centrum echter met de taxi 3 min.

Beautiful hotel, spotlessly clean rooms, traditional Italian style, amazing views and professional, smart staff. This is our second time to the hotel which we loved. The pool area and lido are also beautiful with amazing staff, and enjoyable to spend your days there. Unfortunately our stay this year was hugely spoilt by 3 weddings taking place in the week that we stayed. Instead of the usual impeccable service in tranquil surroundings overlooking the ocean, we were subjected to extremely loud party music, screaming, shouting and singing from the wedding party in the nearby garden of the hotel. Some of the guests dining in the outdoor restaurant decided to take their drinks to their rooms rather than sit in the noise disturbance from the wedding party. The hotel should advise guests of these weddings so instead of dining at the hotel, guests can choose to dine in Sorrento away from the party atmosphere. Or indeed during the day whilst laid by the pool in your swim wear, when wedding guests arrive and walk past you laid by the pool in their finery, we would have sunbathed by the lido that day rather than the pool area where it felt uncomfortable. Upon complaining to the hotel, they were not bothered or concerned, very poor customer service! It had made me rethink returning to this lovely hotel, they are more interested in receiving money from weddings than hotel guests. Very disappointing!

My wife and I had a wonderful 10 night B&B at this hotel where we had stayed a couple of times previously. I rate the hotel as one of the best we stay in. Marvellous staff, delicious breakfast, lovely pools, and rooms. What else can I say. It has a Lido on the sea front which is free to use. The views from the restaurant across the Bay of Naples and to Capri cannot be beaten. All this is a 10 minute walk fro Sorrento's centre. We will be back.

Fantastic! I will start with the staff who were incredible. They seemed genuinely eager to please and always helpful and welcoming. Food was consistently excellent, from breakfast to the pool to dinner and the martini menu was perfect. View and location are absolutely beautiful. We a room for my wife and I and one for the kids, they were both immaculate and clean; showers and bathrooms were great. Hard to leave and highly recommend.

This hotel was a 11 out of 10. The staff was amazing and the resort itself was absolutely stunning. Don’t overthink this… book now!! The walk to town center just a few minutes, don’t miss Capri and the little fishing village. Best food in Italy was at a family place called Porta Marina! We will be back… ciao for now. ❤️🇮🇹

Everything was excellent. The hotel is perfectly located on the cliff right above the sea. A lot of rooms have amazing seaview. You can easily reach the hotel’s private beach through the lift which is very convenient. There are everything you need on the private beach - sun-beds and umbrellas. The breakfasts were very good - all foods were fresh and there were a great variety of different of vegetables and fruits as well as eggs, pancakes, meet, cheese and fish. The dinner in the hotel’s restaurant was also very good.

The most Beautiful location and setting. The grounds are amazing with plenty of seats out on the terrace to soak up the views. The rooms are so clean and well maintained. The room service is excellent, supplying new towels and linen twice a day if needed. The most comfortable bed too.

I think €20+ for a vodka lime and soda is ridiculous and some what pretentious. The drinks in general were expensive and tbh the cocktails were not th best either, certainly not worth €20.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet; there was a great variety of choices from an omelet station to fish to pastries, all served in a gorgeous dining room overlooking the Bay of Naples with Mt Vesuvius in the background. The room was very nice.

The hotel didn't provide a shuttle like other hotels to take you to the Old Town or to the port and it was quite a walk from the hotel.

Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Amazing location, 5 stars is not enough for the level of service from every staff member you meet they exceeded all our expectations. Views are spectacular and the food is absolutely delicious. Pool area is perfect and not too busy. Would not hesitate to return 🌟

This is an elegant hotel on a beautiful property. The view of the Naples Bay is extraordinary! The concierge’s is friendly and helpful, especially Salvatore and Melina. The hotel is a short walk to the town Square and all meaning points for excursions. The lobby is gorgeous as is the pool and outside bar area. It wasn’t warm enough to go swimming, but we did enjoy the grounds and stunning views. Breakfast is delicious with many options. The staff is attentive and the displays are impeccable. They pay attention to every detail. Our room was immaculate with maid service two times a day. The only negative was the shower as it was in the bathtub. The floor would get wet and the tub was slippery which made me a bit nervous. In hindsight, we should have changed rooms. We had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return! Highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Sorrento.

The restaurant food is beautiful , sea bass baked in rock salt and the crepe suzette were outstanding! The grounds are beautiful, the pool, the beautiful wisteria surrounding the seating area and orange jasmine , and you can relax and have lunch or just drinks with a view overlooking the sea. This has to be one of the best hotels ever! The decor and atmosphere are just mesmerising and it’s in a beautiful quiet location, about ten minutes walk to the Piazza. Ermelinda on reception is so helpful , all the staff were lovely and professional . Restaurant has outstanding food, and the Maitre Di who made us the most superb crepe Suzette excelled. , The pool area is just so beautiful and the garden area, beautiful wisteria and orange jasmin set a relaxing scene overlooking the sea. You can eat lunch at there or just bar food from your lounger. The room was magnificent, a deluxe Sea view Junior Suite complete with whirlpool bath, and shower, and room turned down every night with fresh linen. I thoroughly recommend this hotel, don’t hesitate to book. Thank you Sue and Victor

We had a wonderful stay here in March/April 2026. We stayed in the Sorrento suite which was beautiful and spacious. Service was excellent all around. We had a minor issue with the shower drain not working and it was fixed promptly. Breakfast was a high point of my day, with a view that cannot be beat. The weather was not very agreeable, so we did not get to try out the pool and outdoor amenities, but just like the rest of the properly, were beautiful and well maintained. The hotel itself is a bit off from Sorrento center, which we really liked for the quieter / calmer atmosphere, but it is on a main road where cars/bikes speed around a curve. Most everything was walkable in Sorrento which was a major plus, including the marina to catch the ferry. Would definitely stay here again if back in Sorrento!

Outstanding grounds and views. It is a very peaceful hotel.

Everything was simply perfect! The garden is stunning, the views breathtaking, the building and furnishings tasteful, not ostentatious just classy. Everything is kept very clean. We ate almost every night at the hotel restaurant and were never disappointed (super chef even compared to the one star restaurant next door). The massages are highly recommended. Finally, what made our stay was the staff, especially the persons at reception and in the restaurant/bar. Our particular thank you goes to Giovanni and Franco who were so nice, highly professional and competent, attentive and kind, but never intrusive, we almost felt like leaving friends behind when our holiday was over. We had the best time and will definitely come back next year!

Amazing Hotel, brilliant staff, superb food. The whole 4 days were outstanding, restaurant food was awesome and the staff were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel even put a bottle of champagne in our friends room as it was his birthday. The room was lovely, spotlessly clean, and anything we asked for was sorted quickly. The night it was raining they were giving out umbrellas to everyone going out. All the staff are so friendly and sociable I would go back again as soon as we get the opportunity, it was so relaxing, and an enjoyable experience..

The first apartment the host put us in had no shower door , it was waiting to be replaced! Yet they still thought it was ok to put tourists in!! We complained and initially were told there was no other aartment but luckily we bumped into the property manager who intervened on our behalf and we were moved to an apartment next door which was all good. We found a great cafe close by for breakfast but there was a bit of a walk to the downtown area. So many tourists! Sorrento was charming with great food. A car is not needed to get around. We booked a trip in a minivan down th Amalfi Coast and that was memorable with stops at Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. I only wish we had more time at each town but as it was, the trip took a day. The road is narrow and meeting a bus coming the other way around a corner was an experience! The local drivers were excellent and could pass with only inches between vehicles.

The last 3 days of our 2 weeks on the Amalfi Coast were spent at this MAGNIFICENT hotel. The staff always RAN to my aid since I use an electric scooter . . . they offered their arms to hold onto whenever I had to step off of the scooter . . . they placed ramps down on steps wherever I went. They were just amazing! The room was impeccable, very large, and accommodating for my husband and me. The beautiful tiled sunken tub and shower was simply EXTRAORDINARY! We felt so pampered. The bathroom items are from the highest-quality brands and are very exclusive. The balcony with full view of the sea was lovely and we enjoyed watching all of the boats come in and out of the marina. The hotel restaurant is better than most high-end eateries. The Gnocchi alla Sorrentina is so delicious, we ordered it every day! The buffet breakfast overlooking the sea and Bay of Naples is breathtaking. The grounds to lounge around on, or use the huge pool is like a dream, so green and lush. And even in a city, there is perfect peace and quiet. The hotel is a brief 15-minute stroll to the city center and Piazza Tasso. This is a hotel experience that we highly recommend and will return to each and every time we are in the region! Grazie mille!!!

It’s beautiful! The rooms were simple but had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable. The ground were beautiful and there is so much room to find a private place to lounge and enjoy. The staff was very helpful. We took a private boat tour to almalfi coast and I felt happy, after visiting those towns, that we stayed in sorrento. It’s less crowded and charming.

The gym is really tiny and I wish they had a bigger spa with amenities (sauna etc)

I stayed at this hotel on 24/09/2025 with my mother it was her 80th birthdayErmelinda greeted us at the desk when we checked in she showed us to our room she had given us a full sea view beautiful room and a welcome bottle of champagne and had allowed my family to surprise my mother by allowing her to hide in the room and decorate with balloons the hotel is beautiful the choice of breakfast is fantastic and staff are polite unfortunately four days into our holiday my mother fell all staff was very helpful and a ambulance was called unfortunately my mother had fractured her femur and had to stay in hospital also we were due to checkout of the hotel on 30/09/25 but as of the accident I needed to stay in Italy longer the hotel was fully booked the hotel manager arranged with his co manager philipo to arrange alternative accommodation for me with there sister hotel Capodimonte which was a 5min walk from the hospital this hotel was very accommodating and I will also write a review however I would like to thank you all for your help and kind wishes for my mum she is making a good recovery Ermelinda you are such a beautiful and kind lady hopefully we will visit this hotel again in the future

The breakfast was great with a lot of options. The view from the breakfast room was spectacular, a wonderful way to start the day. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets felt luxurious.

We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was very much appreciated. The view was only a little bit obstructed due to the balcony next door. But we had a beautiful view of the pool and the marina.

Location is superb

The property was stunning in every respect. The rooms were clean and comfortable with amazing views. The staff were extremely attentive and accommodating. The location was perfect in regard to the town center area. Simply exceptional in every regard.

阳台上会有蚊子，如果能有除蚊设施在阳台，会停留的更舒适一些，不会受蚊子的干扰。有一晚赶上风比较大降温，预订了晚餐厅，感觉整体吃饭过程随着时间越来越晚就会很冷，菜也凉的很快。当时如果餐厅能够提供加热炉，就会感觉更舒适。当晚因为太冷，没有吃完全部套餐就选择离开了，怕度假期间生病。

Beautiful 5* hotel set in cliff top overlooking the Bay of Naples. Historic feel to hotel with terrrace restaurants looking out to sea leading to some great sunsets. Breakfast buffet is extensive and varied. Restaurant food quality is good and service excellent. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. Small fitness room, good massage facilities and paid use of jacuzzi. Has its own beach area (more rocky than sand as is typical of this part of coast). Short walk into Sorrento itself (10-15 mins) also not far from train and bus stations.

There is no doubt that the hotel is beautiful and in an ideal location. The views are stunning. This room we stayed in was only adequate. It was room 702 and it had a tiny balcony and a partial sea view. Layout of the room had something to be desired. There is no full length mirror anywhere in the room. In addition the minibar was very dirty, as were some aspects of the bathroom. However, the most undesirable aspect of this hotel is the fact that the food and beverage department is very un accommodating and the waiters can be rude. My travel agent, who is wonderful, booked some amazing excursions, however they left very early in the morning. On one morning when we asked if we could take something with us from the breakfast buffet the waiter was incredibly rude and acted like we were low class. When I brought this to the attention of the front desk they did not seem to be concerned and told me the excursions the hotel booked did not leave early. I think because Sorrento is dependent on tourism, the hotels should accomodate the guests that need to leave early to make it in time to an early excursion rather than be rude and disrespectful. Regardless of the beauty of this hotel, I will not be reccomending it to my friends who travel. We went without breakfast two days, despite paying for it and at no time did any staff member appear to be the slightest bit apologetic.

This is a lovely hotel in every way possible. I can’t fault it. The staff are lovely and helpful. The room was great and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. Breakfast was tasty with lots of choice. Being able to access the sea was a big plus too. We hope to return one day.

Lovely reception area and beach club. we had a 3rd floor suite. Not a huge suite but perfectly adequate. Nice balcony overlooking the sea. Very good and attentive breakfast service. Very friendly and helpful staff. A 10-15 minute walk into town but that suited us as we enjoy walking.

We were not residents of the hotel but walked past one night and saw how amazing the terrace was so we popped in for a drink before dinner (and then did this a few more times!). Lovely selection of cocktails and wines, the waiters were all so friendly. The snacks served with drinks were lovely too. Sunset drinks were magical on the terrace, thank you for having us!

From the moment we arrived for my mums surprise birthday everything was just perfect! The staff were welcoming and friendly, making us feel relaxed, special thanks to Max who was fab! The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully taken care of. The view from our room was amazing, food was delicious, cocktails were great and location was spot on. Can not recommend this hotel enough, hoping to return in the future!
