Check in was easy. Room was clean and of a good standard. Breakfast buffet was good. EV charging in the car park worked well over night (22Kw).

Mixed feelings. First impressions from arrival at reception were average at best. Room was good, although there was no hairdryer. When we asked, a brand new one was delivered to the room in minutes. Breakfast was hectic. They appeared short staffed, although the staff were very pleasant and tried hard to keep things running. We observed shortages of cups, glasses, silverware, the coffee machine was overrun, pastries ran out and salt sellers were non existant. Again the staff were pleasant and tried their best. Ultimately it needs effective management. Would stay again though.

Clean room, good facilities, excellent breakfast, staff friendly and helpful with 1 exception. Car parking plentiful but ev charging point very difficult to navigate.

Terrible terrible time!!!!! Unfortunately, my experience was far below the standard I expected. Usually I find your hotel wonderful I get a great quick sleep and the amenities are great. It’s secure, nice and also quiet , which I really appreciate as most of the time as I’m going to bed people are actually getting up. When I checked into my assigned room, I was shocked to find that it was already occupied by another guest, who was extremely distressed and jumped out of bed in his pants as i work on the railway so didn’t get to me room until 6am, i was then put in a single room when i booked a double and when I complained to hotel reception and wrote in my emails were ignored.

I stay here regularly and always have a consistent great experience. Staff always friendly and helpful. Breakfast has a good range of food available.

The room was a little disappointing. Seemed to have a big space in one corner which previously contained furniture. Besides the bed we had one chair and a dressing table. No fan or air-con despite the heat. We visited in March and the room was much nicer.

Two day stay, lovely staff, good breakfast and beautiful grounds but no change of towels or room cleaning during the stay and the Electric Vehicle charging kept cutting out and failed to fully charge which was very problematic

Ok but, the place lacked a little bit of soul. A more personal approach from the staff would have been nice.

When my wife and I checked in to the Hotel at 15.00, we found the room very cold and the electric wall heater switched off. It took about 30 minutes to learn how to switch on the wall heater. However, the room was still very cold and so at 5.00pm we phoned the hotel reception to request a portable electric heater. The receptionist assured me she would check if one was available and call back, however, this never happened. So we had to endure the low temperature in the room. When we checked out the following day, I made an official complaint. The receptionist seemed disinterested in our plight and said she would report the issue to the hotel housekeeping. However, we did not get an apology. We feel the hotel management should have made some gesture of compensation for our bad experience. To date, we have not received anything.

Disappointing! No heating on arrival, it was attended to but continued to be more off than on throughout our stay! It was freezing in the restaurant and were reminded to leave as breakfast was over at 9.30am, not what you expect in a supposedly high rated hotel!!! Coffee machines switched off no bread for toast, staff not happy. As we saw after leaving the staff were then having their breakfast so obviously we were holding them up!!! Not impressed!!

A lovely hotel but lacked some character. Unfortunately due to their being a corporate function on I felt lost in the bigger group.

Good stay in a comfortable hotel

Lovely overnight stay. Only complaint was that the room was very cold when we arrived and took eight hours to heat.

Rooms where good standard we where there for a family wedding food was ok for wedding ran out of lemon aid what hotel runs out of lemon aid breakfast was terrible food was cold and when I asked for fresh the food got pulled from underneath the hot plate not a lot of pastries on offer juice was warm

Big hotel. Bar food was good, as was breakfast. Several electric car charge points. Definitely would stay again, especially in the summer.

Fire alarms going off constantly

For my first time staying in a hotel,it was such an amazing experience,greeted with friendly and happy staff,the cleanliness was spotless,and tidy,the rooms where better than I expected I do think that it’s one of the best hotels.

This seems to be the new trend. Not allowing residents to contols the room temperature. Heating did not work at all. Maybe its fine in the summer but when its 9 degrees outside its not pleasant.

On a private golf course, high security gates, beautiful grounds and rooms immaculate. Breakfast buffet excellent, great kitchen staff.

lovely hotel but silly things let it down firstly lovely modern room but no walk in shower over the bath only with a old shower curtain a screen would be better restaurant no one watching products had to ask for everything needed and wait for it to arrive over 15 minutes for milk and had to go ask again before it arrived went for wedding should be a covered walk way from hotel to golf club only a short walk but if raining or in winter slippery would be soaked or could fall over before you got there and cost of drinks outrageous double our normal price and that was for a single shot of sprits not double would I stay again no

This is a fantasic hotel that seems to be lacking managerial oversight. On check-in the Receptionist was suffering with a severe cold with a high potentially passing it on to guests. In the bathroom there was a foul smell that on further investigation was coming from the shower drain which obviously hadn't been cleaned for a while. Matress protectors and duvet were stained. Thanks for the complimentary bottles of water but where's the fridge? At 6.45am I was rudely woken by the Laundry delivery truck unloading myltiple trollies in to the loading bay beneath my bedroom. It lasted for 20 minutes... I'm now fully awake. At peak breakfast time it was chaotic... three young male staff trying to cope with no logic or order. Dirty uncleared tables not re-set for the next guests, unclean plates at the hotplate, hot drinks machines out of order and out of teabags, the cereal, pastries and bread counter was a complete mess with burnt toast and bagels just left on plates. Where was the supervision... in the foyer doing paperwork and chatting to the cleaner (who for some reason is cleaning the foyer during peak checkout time between 10-11 am). That said, I enjoyed my stay and I liked the comprehensive and tasty full English breakfast. The setting of the hotel is beautiful and the communal area in and around the foyer is fantastic. Thumbs up also to prohibiting smoking outside the Main Entrance to the Hotel. Refreshing to see.

Booked a table for 4 in the restaurant, food was poor and dry, not wurth the money, staff were hopeless as told weddings were on so they were short staffed, bathroom had black mould around the bath and lights out, poor experience for the cost

Clean, tidy, spacious room. EV charging at 55p fix rate isn’t too bad. Reception area has great ambiance (can do with light background music). Lovely serving staff at the restaurant, and the food was excellent. It was nice to have bottled drinking water in the room. It would have been nicer if there was air conditioning in the room and slippers. I will come back.

Clean enough, staff fine but didn’t have much interaction with them tbh. Hotel is fine just felt like we were at a work function or conference. Great for golf lovers as sitting on the course.

staff were friendly & helpful-the hotel has recently been refurbished & was good & pleasant to see & smell. There was a good atmosphere in the public areas but our room was quiet & peaceful at night.

Really lovely stay. Staff were welcoming. However booked a double room and was disappointed to find it was two twin beds pushed together, with rather a noticeable dip between the two which made it rather uncomfortable when sharing a bed. Also tv did not turn off with remote - easy enough to solve but annoying

Very nice overnight stay. The hotel and room were both clean and tidy. The food in the restaurant was very good. We would definitely stay again and probably play golf next time.

Lovely staff but very limited facilities for anyone not playing golf. Building well presented but had a very corporate feel and lacked character.

Distant from town so no local walking to shops. Reception was organised and quick Rooms clean for most aspects Food at Breakfast and Dinner excellent Staff paying attention and working hard Nothing around it so it is important to bring anything you need. No Air/Con in the rooms and they get hot I could hear all of the movement of the room above but nothing from either side! Good attitude, paying attention and better than MANY.

The rooms are run down and not very comfortable, don’t expect the greatest food from the restaurant but expect to overpay for watt you get. Definitely not worth the money I spent.

We attended a wedding reception at the hotel recently. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, with easy check in and check out. The hotel is located in a very quiet setting. We will visit again when visiting the area.

One of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. The bar food and breakfast were both very nice and the bar prices are very reasonable compared to some other hotel brands. We stayed in a junior suite which was very nice indeed. The decor is very modern and appealing and the conditions room is a little gem too. My plans now are to return to play some golf here some time soon. Special mention to the member of staff who went the extra mile by escorting us to our room.

The Hotel was well presented & the service friendly. However, the overall standard was seriously let down by room maintenance. As a builder, I immediately noticed that the room felt damp & that this was caused by the Bathroom Extractor Fan not working, hence when showering the room was quickly steamed up & this transferred to the Bedroom. I reported this to reception, twice, but was informed that the maintenance crew did not work at Wkds. This meant that the room was damp & uncomfortable, which rather spoilt an otherwise eadant stay.

Our stay was only one night but we enjoyed the comfort and the surroundings and the staff were very helpful at every stage of our stay. The room was a good size and it was clean and tidy. The breakfast was good and the choice of food was extensive.

The bedroom was lovely, nice clean and a good nights sleep. Shame can’t be said for the rest of the hotel. Christmas party night, it was that cold in the function room you had to keep your coat on. Even the DJ had a hoody on. Casino was in a different room with heat, yes you guessed it everyone left the party, for heat and a fake flutter. When I tried to speak to reception, in regards to the previous night… she didn’t want to know… so rude mid conversation she started a conversation with another guest. Not worth the money for the party night!

Ok hotel and facilities. Food - average steak and sides. Bar - they need to learn how to do a Gin & Tonic. It’s really poor when they only use 1 ice cube and you have to ask them to but a lime in as well. Sad. Also… I couldn’t put my drinks at the room as no one asked for my card details when I checked in. You would have though it was in their manual.

The hotel was lovely and the room was spotless. One downside was the lack of flexibility from the restaurant- one of my daughters is a very fussy eater and wanted a burger, which is only served on the bar menu but not on the restaurant menu. We asked if this could be served in the restaurant while the rest of us ate from the restaurant menu but we were told this wasn’t possible, despite the food from the bar menu being prepared in the same kitchen as the restaurant - this was disappointing.

The hotel is in nice quiet grounds and includes a golf course. The are some pleasent walks to be had and the general ambiance is a quiet calmness. The rooms are standard hotel size but fitted out to a high standard. Parking is easy too. Some small points about breakfast. There is a notice by the plates for cooked breakfast that they will be hot but no servietts to hold them with. The toaster was rather inefficient and I could not find any teaspoons. The hot breakfast was well cooked and there was a good variety of options. Overall this was a nice stay and I would recommend the hotel

We have stayed here on a number of occasions in the past. However, on this particular Saturday, the bar area had been taken over by a number of raucous parties meaning there was nowhere to sit in this area, bar food was very delayed and we gave up and went back to our room. There was nowhere to sit in the breakfast area the following morning, food was in short supply and was cold.

A really good overnight stop. The receptionist when we checked was absolutely spot on; a great manner and a very warm welcome. The room was clean, bright and plenty of space. A perfect place when travelling on the M6.

Short visit to spend weekend with family. Very comfortable stay. Though not cheap!

Stayed here for one night, the hotel looks great inside and out and has plenty of parking. It is set within a golf course with gated security. The staff were all friendly and the breakfast was good, plenty to choose from. The only problem i had was with the bar on the evening, there were only six people in having a drink, so was very quite , when i ordered my drink the barman said the gas had gone off so he needed to go and change it . I waited patiently for more than ten minutes before he came back, and still the gas was not working, i then asked for a bottled cider and sat down. When i got back up for a refill the barman was nowhere to be seen, i waited a further fifteen minutes before he showed up. I know when it's quiet the staff will be expected to do other tasks but this is poor bar service. I finished my drink and went to bed early, wasn't going to be made to wait again.

Stayed one night during a longer road trip. We stayed outside the busy golf weekend slot. It was quite, lovely grounds.

Clean, modern, quiet. Nice location, decent breakfast. Obviously brilliant if a golfer. I suppose a little sterile and characterless - but often hotels with character don’t actually deliver on all aspects! I’d rather stay in somewhere modern. Photo (hopefully!) shows the view from our room.

Beautiful location and hotel

Only stayed for the night, hotel in nice surroundings surrounded by the golf course. Public areas have a nice modern open decor. Buffet breakfast excellent. Only negative was we had to figure out the heater in the cold room before it felt cosy (windows had been left open!)

We enjoyed our stay at Wychwood Park except for the restaurant. Whatever we requested from the menu they’d ran out. We did receive and apology, which was nice, but we ended up eating in the bar. The food we ate was very nice.

All staff need training. No warm welcome at reception. Very matter of fact. Functional which post covid and price increases is not good enough. Bar staff - three untrained juniors on bar serving guest while management entire focus on big wedding downstairs. No courteous note that wedding would take place. No free bar snacks. 1 hour wait for food. Bar staff very reactive. Bar not kept clean. Sat in wet chair thankfully soaked in beer and nothing worse. Food good. Breakfast on Sunday was chaotic, dirty tables poor stock. Again no management seen. Poor management and poor staff training. Also think my bar charges were incorrect. Will contact hotel directly. Will eprecommemd and will stay again but manager needs to readdress his priorities and supervision. Check out no how was your stay, no query about issues, just awful piped music and a get out of here vibe. Could do better.

Bun fight for a poor quality breakfast, cleanliness of room, dust everywhere, biscuits not replenished, bed thrown together.

Great location good service in reception and room cleaning but very disappointed at the breakfast. I am vegetarian and do not expect much in the hot dishes but would expect pastries, bread, fruit, yoghurt, for this quality hotel! The staff were overstretched, no cutlery, plates or even bread - big queue on the one working coffee machine... and this was at 9am - it really spoiled the experience

Overall happy with stay

On a previous stay, everything was great. Other than the breakfast staff clearing breakfast half an hour early before I had a chance to sit down (breakfast finishes at 9.30) everything else was great and the staff were really accommodating. This stay was the opposite! The tv had to be retuned every time it turned off, the room was freezing and the heating didn’t work, the phone was disconnected and socket broken so couldn’t call reception, room service doesn’t start until after 10pm and when I requested a slightly late checkout I was told it was £15 even though most hotels now let you have some extra time and are less rude when telling you there’s a charge! Housekeeping were still knocking on my door every half an hour from 9am even though there was a DND on the door. Overall my stay was uncomfortable and sadly I might have to go back to the other hotel I was staying in there which is a shame as I thought this was going to be a nice change for my commutes. If you’re going, request a room away from the ground floor, mine was next to reception this time and very noisy. A coach load of people left at 1am so along with my freezing room I had a load of drunk people to deal with as well!!

Great hotel, very quiet and good environment. Bed and bedding was nice and comfortable. Enjoyed my stay. Variety of breakfast.

Reception area and room where lovely, water, tea and coffee facilities and very clean. Lift not working to 1st floor but not an issue for us. However, the bar and the restaurant really disapponted. Staff commented on how poor the drinks menu was, that it was old and needed updating and that they dont have half the choice. Asked for cocktails and was advised they couldnt make them as they didnt have the majority of ingredients-the fridges appeared to stock them all. Took forever to order a drink as they had nothing listed on menu. No cider and when this was ordered in the empty restaurant a staff member could so obviously be heard saying to her colleague "whos ordering that". The food is overpriced and hit and miss, the pork was nice but the chicken dry, dry and chewy. It was empty on a friday eve and more staff than customers but they still werent attentive. Spotlights above where you are eating could do with a clean, the spider webs where huge, pics dont do justice!

Lovely hotel, nice styling and design in the main areas and lots of nice seating areas throughout. Breakfast was superb with a lovely offering. Personally found the beds a little hard and was a lack of information about the on-site restaurant - no details in rooms, website mentioned lounge menu and in room but unclear on these.

I was in room 017 i had neighbours upstairs that drove me mad reception had only a room to move me to with 2 single beds its my fourth and last visit .
