Fisher's Hotel

Great location, room fairly good, nice to have a welcome drink for a change. Lunch was great in the Coachhouse. Staff were good apart from manager in the Garden room.

No disabled parking bays (my wife has to use a Wheelchair so need to be able to open the car door fully to get her out into the wheelchair). Dinner was terrible in the Garden room, worst meal we have had during two weeks in Scotland. Got money back for the food but that is not the point - should have been good at this 4 star hotel. Having given up on the main course thought we would try the cheese board expecting some nice local cheeses, wrong only one from Scotland other to from Spain and Italy and not very nice. Think they are more interested in coach customers with fast food etc.

The hotel is centrally located within the town. We had a cozy room and were concerned it would be too small bit it was fine. The window opens so fresh air was available and the room had a small table fan which was great. Breakfast was good.

The hotel layout is very confusing and finding our room at the back of the hotel on floor2 was not easy.

Uns hat die Lage sehr gut gefallen. Die Unterkunft liegt direkt im Ort, sodass Souvenirläden, Restaurants und andere Geschäfte bequem zu Fuß erreichbar sind. Der Check-in und auch der Check-out waren sehr einfach und schnell. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls völlig in Ordnung.

Die Unterkunft hat leider einige Schwachstellen. Zwar gibt es einen Aufzug, allerdings muss man auf der Etage trotzdem noch mehrere Treppen mit dem Koffer bewältigen und durch sehr schwere Feuerschutztüren gehen, was mit Gepäck ziemlich unpraktisch ist. Das Zimmer war außerdem sehr hellhörig und die Tür nicht richtig dicht. Wenn die Feuerschutztüren im Flur zufielen, hat unsere Tür jedes Mal gewackelt. Geräusche aus dem Nachbarzimmer waren ebenfalls extrem deutlich zu hören. Dazu kam, dass das Zimmer insgesamt nicht besonders sauber war: Wir hatten Haare im Bett, der Teppich war sehr fleckig und auch die Dusche bzw. Duschbrause wirkte nicht sauber und schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Auch das Bett war leider sehr unbequem.

Very tired decor - bar very poor, no hand pumped ale beers at all & no normal spirit mixers - only light options available, had to go out to shop & buy normal tonic waters - bar staff very blazee & not particularly helpful ?? Breakfast was okay but really not so great - sorry - on a positive note the reception team were very nice.

Very convenient to go to the theatre and to look around Pitlochry.

The location is excellent as it is directly opposite the railway station and the front entrance is on the main street.

The public spaces were much nicer than the bedroom which was very small and could have been cleaner. There was a lot of dust on surfaces and a large cracked tile in the shower. The shower did not work well. When turned on there was a jet of water followed by a trickle. It had to be turned off and on to get any water at all. Breakfast buffet was Average.

The location in Pitlochry was good. Some of the public areas were nice. the restaurant looked nice. Going home to a clean house with curtains on the windows and no cracks on the wash hand basin

The attitude to the reception staff, it was some man that had to finish doing something on his phone, he seemed as if dealing with us was the last thing he wanted to do. Car park is owned by hotel but they charge for parking. Corridors were worn/ tired. Room was thick with dust, on the TV, window sill, headboard. the table was badly marked and chipped. window was tiny a roller blind - no curtains, so one the sun comes up, your room is lit up, I assume blackout curtains have not got north of Stirling! - No Air conditioning, I dread to think what it was like in June/ July this year, as the room was very hot, the window opened about three inches. Ironing board was fixed outside the wardrobe?? I have never seen that before, usually inside. The Wash hand basin had a large crack with a number of smaller one running off. Could not find anything in the room to say how much the breakfast was, so we went down £21.99 for a breakfast!! No wonder hospitality is struggling - we went to a cafe across the road ( there are lots and lots of cafes) and I had more than enough to eat for under £10. I don't know how much I would need to eat to make £22 of breakfast. I had unfortunately left it late to book a room in Pitlochry and there was little choice but I will not make that mistake again, I would rather have slept in my car I paid £240 for ONE night!! but checking on booking.com the cheapest it seem to be is about £140. I have stayed in Youth Hostels and Travelodge's that look luxurious compared to this.

The hotel has been decorated since the last time I stayed. I had a king room which had plenty of space and a nice view. Breakfast was good and the dining room has been updated which is really nice

The young man at check in was so helpful and efficient. The coffee pods in the room were also appreciated. Not to forget, the welcome drink was super!

One member of our party has difficulty climbing stairs. We booked this hotel because the information stated that the hotel had a lift. However, when we arrived, we discovered that the specific rooms we had been assigned were located in a part of the hotel that was not serviced by the lift!

We were delighted to be given an upgrade to King Room, thank you. The room was lovely and very comfortable. We particularly liked the Highland Soaps etc in the lovely spacious Shower room. We also appreciated the lovely white fluffy towels as well as the bath robes and slippers.

On our first morning, the bed was not made up correctly, simply the duvet had been thrown up only and the pillows were as we had left them and the decor cushions were not placed back on the bed. Although this is not a complaint as such, we feel that you should be made aware of this because we feel sure this does not meet your high housekeeping standards.

We arrived at 2pm and they kept us waiting until 4pm for our room. This was really disappointing. In addition they charge for their own car parking. We had paid a full price for our two night stay so this left a bit of a bad taste.

De locatie, midden in het dorp Pitlochry. Aan de buitenkant een schitterend gebouw. De kamer is waarschijnlijk nog niet heel lang geleden opgeknapt. Nieuw behang, comfortabele bedden.

De binnenkant van het hotel! Bij binnenkomst zie je al dat de ontvangstruimte een serieuze opknapbeurt kan gebruiken. Helaas is de lucht afzuiging in de badkamer niet afdoende waardoor er veel schimmel vorming is op het plafond. Ook rond het raam van de kamer zat schimmel. Zowel de spiegel in de kamer als in de badkamer hangen te laag. Het lampje boven de badkamer spiegel was stuk. De kamer werd aangeboden als ‘gezellig’ , de sfeer was ver te zoeken, één fauteuil tussen het bureau en de strijkplank. Slordige ophanging van de tv, de kabels zijn niet weggewerkt. Het ontbijt is ok, maar geen 4-sterren hotel waard! En zeker niet de prijs die we ervoor hebben betaald!

Did not get the Deluxe Room we paid for !! Due to the fact there was no shower in that room and my disabled husband can’t use a bath. All they could do was offer us a very basic, small dark room with a shower . No partial refund offered .

Had to keep the window open to keep the room cool enough but then we got the outside noise. Not much, but some. Could also hear neighbour snoring through the wall 😆

It’s perfectly situated next to the train station and on the main street. The building is charming and our room was large, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was hearty, offering a generous assortment of hot and cold food.

Lovely hotel and the booking staff managed to work out what room we last stayed in so could have same room again which I requested. Lovely to have welcome drink and the breakfast choice was really good.

The location was amazing: right in the middle of Pitlochry, wonderful after a long day of travelling. The gardens were absolutely awesome.

The pictures on booking do not match the rooms (or maybe just the one we stayed in). The hotel has a parking lot but it was full when we got there and it was impossible to stop there to unload the car.

There weren't enough parking spaces, so we had to park further away and get up early to retrieve the car. As a result, we couldn't enjoy a peaceful breakfast, which was a real shame.

The location is perfect, very central to everything. The food at the pub next door was great! Our room was huge but I'm not sure they were all like it.

Staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Appreciated a room with a wet room, rather than a shower over a bath as my wife has mobility problems. Location is so central and convenient for shops, cafes, bars, bus stops and railway station. Hotel has quiet areas as well as a busy bar area and next door is a very lively and welcoming pub.

Drainage in the wet room was inadequate and needs to be reviewed. Drain needs to be cleaned.

The breakfast was ok and rooms were large. The welcome drink at reception is a nice touch. The hotel is actually a nice property but needs work and love to maintain properly. Location is great in the heart of Pitlochry.

My late July 2026 stay at Fisher’s Hotel in Pitlochry was deeply disappointing due to a severe drainage issue and poor handling by staff. On our first night, the shower drain was completely blocked, causing dirty water to pool around my feet. The night receptionist tried to help with a suction tool, but acknowledged maintenance was needed and promised to pass the message along. However, the morning staff had no record of the issue, forcing us to explain it again. Although maintenance claimed to fix it, the drain backed up again whenever we used the sink, and the shower floor was left dirty. As a result, we couldn't use the shower for either night of our two-night stay. While the hotel was fully booked and offered drink vouchers, they failed to fix the plumbing or clean the mess properly. At checkout, staff offered no room rate adjustment or meaningful apology for paying for unusable facilities. Issues happen, but the complete lack of resolution spoiled our stay. I would not recommend staying here until they fix their drainage systems. I've already shared this review on google and posting it here as the issue was never satisfactorily resolved during our stay.

The fire door next to our room (264) needs a soft closer. Very noisy early morning.

There was an emergency with my adult disabled daughter back in the US. I had to cancel 3 days before my stay. I pre-paid almost 5 months prior. I understand the 7 day cancellation policy, but without a doubt they re-booked the room. A partial refund would have gone a long way.

Clean and tidy and the location was excellent.

The room was spartan but functional. The shower room/toilet was very small. No fridge and the ironing board was dumped in a corner.

The bathroom! There was a small over-bath shower, the shower head was none to clean and there are a lot of areas of maintenance which need seeing to: grouting black in places, 'collapsed' tiles beside the toilet, hairline crack in the basis etc. Overall, very dated.

I didn’t like that breakfast was not included. We paid almost almost £700 for the weekend. This was more expensive than our weekend last year through Booking.com when breakfast was included. To get breakfast would have taken the cost to over £800 which I felt was exorbitant for a basic double room. There was also a parking charge of £5 a day.

The location was great and the check in process was very easy. The bed itself was quite comfy and our room was clean & spacious. You do get a welcome drink upon arrival, which is a nice touch.

Would just like to point out that these comments wouldn’t be as much of an issue if the hotel was priced appropriately but we felt it was just too much money for what we got. We had to pay extra for parking in the hotel car park. The hotel itself is quite outdated and feels shabby around the halls and communal areas. As breakfast buffets go it was pretty poor. There was a large selection of things to choose from but the quality of the food wasn’t great. It was messy and didn’t feel like anyone was on top of keeping things clean, which was quite unappealing. We felt like it was probably a very nice place to be 20 years ago but they’re still charging the same prices for somewhere that is now outdated and not delivering the same experience as it used to.

We are a couple in our 70s, and were travelling to Skye (and then on to Harris & Lewis) from Belfast, so needed a comfortable overnight stop. We got a great welcome in the bar which doubles as reception, ate dinner in lively crowded bistro attached to the hotel, then slept in a peaceful room with comfortable beds. We enjoyed a good breakfast, with plenty of choices, before heading on towards Skye. The hotel is a key feature in Pitlochrie's Main Street and both town and hotel were designed to welcome Victorian tourists arriving by railway. The hotel manages to offer modern facilities and comfort, without losing hints of 19th-century internal grandeur. Similarly the town retains its historic character while busy with modern shops and cafes. We have stayed in several other places on our way to the Highlands and Islands and this may well become our regular stop. Definitely recommended.

NOT the hotel's fault, but a false fire alarm at midnight messed up our nights sleep. This is unlikely to be a regular feature and potential guests can be assured the emergency arrangements work!

Die Zimmer sind groß und komfortabel. Das Hotel ist größer als erwartet. Das Personal war nett und zuvorkommend. Da Pitlochry nicht sehr groß ist, liegt es genau mittig und man kann alles gut zu Fuß erreichen.

Der Parkplatz ist im Verhältnis zum Hotel recht klein und wenn man zu spät kommt, ist dieser schnell voll. Außerdem muss man den Parkplatz bezahlen.

Breakfast service could have been better. Had to wait 10 mins to refill heated buffet.

Our room was well decorated, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed the change of tea and coffee plus the lovely biscuits. We thought the offer of a complimentary drink was very nice of management.

Lovely hotel in a great setting. We had rooms to the back of the hotel, which were very quiet, overlooking gardens. Staff were professional and efficient. our rooms were compact, but comfortable and had everything we needed. Communal areas were clean and comfortable, with a welcoming atmosphere. We were able to store bikes overnight, which was convenient. Did not eat at the hotel, but the menu looked great and the dining room looked full in the evening. Loved the wallpapers!

Parking is £5 per day, but is convenient - if you can get a space!

La posizione centrale e la struttura molto carina. Il letto comodissimo.

Molto rumorose le stanze si sente praticamente ogni passo delle stanze vicine. Nel nostro bagno il doccino non funzionava bene anzi era praticamente quasi rotto e farsi la doccia e stato difficoltoso.

They don’t consider disabled people ,especially in the dining room ,met some very unhelpful staff there , certainly could use some soundproofing, on the ceiling of the cosy twin rooms .when the people upstairs were up and walking about , it felt as if they were in your room with you

Albergo molto pulito e curato, personale professionale e molto cordiale, le camere sono dotate di tutto quello che necessita una stanza d'albergo. Il parcheggio è ampio, la posizione e centrale quindi e veramente comoda. In più hanno un pub con degustazione birra, wisky e ottimi piatti.
