The Ravenala Attitude

The property seemed very good value, we went for the full inclusive package which includes a range of different restaurants as well as the buffet. (These need reserving so worth doing as early as possible). It also includes a good range of soft and alcoholic drinks. My wife is gluten free and the buffet restaurant in particular catered for this really well, making individual meals for her where there weren’t sufficient options available. The boathouse also has a range of free activities on offer every day on a first come first served basis (we never had to wait very long at all), including paddle boarding, pedalo and kayaking. There are also free activities which require booking such as snorkelling and a glass bottom boat. There are good gym facilities and tennis courts which are available too. The staff are really friendly and supportive and the hotel has good environmentally-friendly policies.

The TV in the room was quite small and quite a distance from the bed which made it hard to enjoy as much as otherwise.

Land sports facilities were excellent and the team who worked there were professional and helpful. The beach was nice and the snorkelling boat ride was fun

There was building work going on throughout the hotel every day which was annoying. A lot of the hotel staff were not professional. We couldn't check into our room until 40 mins later than check in time. Our room (sea facing) was damp, musty and smelly. Our drinks didn't have alcohol in until we complained. In the adults only beach section, the loungers are meant to be labelled to your room, they weren't which caused confusion.

Tolles Ressort, wunderschöne Anlage. Viele Wassersportaktivitäten ohne Zusatzkosten. WLAN bis zum Strand. Tolle Restaurants, von denen der Großteil auch bei Halbpension inbegriffen ist. Umweltschutz ist ein Thema: es gibt an einem Tag der Woche kein Rindfleisch und eine große Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten. Toll war auch die Departure-Lounges: hier konnte man sich am Abreisetag nach dem Auschecken noch duschen. Super Idee, die ich so noch nie irgendwo gesehen hatte.

Es gab nichts negatives. Nur ein Vorschlag: Besser als nur ein Tag ohne Rindfleisch wären mehr Tage bzw. die Umkehr: Rindfleisch nur an einem Tag der Woche.

Travaux dans notre partie avec du bruit des 8h du matin Le Check out s’est pas très bien passé avec une personne pas très souriante qui a refusé de prendre des billets en euros pour de multiples raisons ( billet légèrement écorné puis avec une trace de feutre ) nous obligeant à payer en carte

Nous avons passé 6 jours agréable. Tout était au top. Le personnel...la chambre... la plage...la piscine...tout les restaurants...Le personnel prends soins de nous tout les jours et sont très sympathique. Je recommande cet hôtel sans hésiter aussi bien pour l emplacement et la qualité du prix. Nous avons absolument rien a redire de négatif. Les prochaines vacances à l île Maurice nous reviendrons sans hésiter chez vous. Encore merci beaucoup pour votre accueil.. votre gentillesse...votre amabilité. Salutations de la Suisse

La piscina es muy bonita, aunque muy poco profunda y la playa y alrededores preciosa. El Bulk shop para coger snacks, cafe y te me gusto mucho, aunque algunos empleados parecia q se molestaban. Tambien me gusto la idea del lunch pack, aunque es poco variado y bocatas con poco relleno. Posibilidad de hacer actividades de agua, aunque el jefe poco colaborador. Los cocteles muy buenos y el barman de la piscina delgado muy profesional

El estor de la habitacion, un grifo y el dispensador de jabon rotos. Algunos empleados muy secos o antipaticos, otros lo contrario.

L'accueil des clients est de haut niveau avec des personnels très sympathiques et professionels (Rajini au restaurant par exemple). Les animations sont meilleures que dans la plupart des hôtels même 5 étoiles. La chambre était très belle et confortable.

Le café qui doit être récupéré au niveau de la boutique, ce n'est pas très pratique. L'alimentation peut aussi être améliorée

There were some maintenance work which was a bit noisy sometimes but not badly noisy to ruin the holiday - overall great experience - staff were great, friendly and absolutely very welcoming from the reception, spa, on the beach, gym & boathouse.

Young guys at the bar (near Mozaic) seemed to be a bit less attentive to clients needs - maybe bit more coaching? But also could be a bit under pressure with peak hour bar time.

Nothing was likable about this hotel.

The young lady who accompanied me to my room hardly spoke and could barely respond to my queries. She told me that the room service was free of charge when you stay on a half board basis. However, when I called to order food from my room, another lady told me that it was not the case. I also attended a workshop there for five days, and there was a mouse in the lecture hall. The staff could not catch it during the whole five days and the mouse was still there when the training was over! I was sad to learn that a wedding was planned in the adjacent hall knowing that the mouse has been roaming around freely for more than a week.. Moreover, the food was of poor quality and a lot of workshop attendees got gastrointestinal issues around the end of the workshop.

Great food, including breakfast and the nine restaurants. Members of staff were very friendly and hard working. The facilities were beautiful and provided extra services such as Spa and tours to watch dolphins and whales.

The room, in particular the bathroom, could be cleaner.

L'offre All Inclusive n'était pas celle attendue. Contrairement à d'autres établissements de l'île, il ne concerne QUE LES BOISSONS LOCALES. Grosse surprise, ce n'était pas annoncé lors de notre réservation sur Booking. On a pu discuter avec la direction qui a finalement accepté de nous inclure 1 boisson par j sur les 2 chambres qui était en dehors du champ de leur All Inclusive. Donc pour 4 personnes, chaque jour, 1 seule boisson acceptée en dehors du champs très restreint de leur All Inclusive. On salue l'effort de la chaîne malgré tout. Mes beaux parents avaient une chambre accessible handicapé : les toilettes étaient calées par un morceau de bois et nous avons constaté une petite fuite. Il y avait énormément de moustiques. La qualité des repas, en buffet notamment, était assez variable mais à la rigueur, c'est peut être juste une question de goût. Pour un hôtel 4*, nous avons été très déçus.

When we reached reception staff was in hurry and was rude while explaining about room keys. Pool was dirty and only ducks were swimming in it no human. Food was okay.

First off, the property is just beautiful. It's large and they do a fantastic job maintaining it and all the landscaping. Everything is clean and spotless and it just has a really chilled, perfectly Mauritian vibe. The beach is small but nice and there is a great sunset view every evening. The staff is great and the food at the restaurants is excellent. For what I paid for the all inclusive the value was superb. In looking at similar priced options where I live on the east coast of the US you can get a motel room at the Roadway Inn with a rating of 4.1/10. And this place is far nicer than similarly priced all inclusive options in Mexico or the Caribbean. I definitely enjoyed being the only American there. Not a whole lot of places you can say that!

My main complaint - of which I told the staff - is that the resort in general is just inefficient. To eat at one of the restaurants (not the buffet) you have to make a booking. To make a booking you have to wait in line for the one staff member who books restaurants for all the guests to find out that nothing is available for 3 days. Similarly for booking anything there just seemed to be an unnecessary wait. The staff were super nice about it. But these days large resorts like this are going to smart phone apps where bookings are streamlined and easy. Mauritius is super laid back and I don't see them going to an app any time soon, but it would have been nice. The only other thing I'll add here is that the buffet restaurant was good, not great. And they basically serve the same thing every night. Luckily there are 5 other restaurants you can do with the all-inclusive. The drinks are also hit or miss. They didn't have one of the two beers they offer on tap when I was there for the entire time and didn't seem concerned about getting their kegs of Manawa IPA replaced. They only have one South African winery included in the all-inclusive and it's not good South African wine.... Lots of cocktail options and other folks seemed happy to drink those. I'm more of a wine and beer drinker so after a few days I was bored of Phoenix (the beer of Mauritius) though it is a good beer!

Bedroom and view was nice

Upon arriving at Ravinana Mauritius Resort, I was disappointed with the welcome. While other guests received welcome drinks, I was told they had run out. Minutes later, I saw staff serving drinks to newly arrived families. When I asked for an explanation, I was told the staff member had simply been too busy to bring me one. It wasn't about the drink, but about feeling overlooked and receiving a poor first impression.

L’accueil du personnel agréable comme tout et bienveillant . Le complexe est tout simplement magnifique , plusieurs restaurants , activité et piscine . Un décor de carte postale et un compte de fée . Je n’ai jamais été aussi bien accueilli dans un hôtel !! Je garderais d’excellent souvenir de mon séjour à Maurice , pays magnifique et population vraiment très accueillante et bienveillante . 😍😍😍

Facilities at the main hotel itself was pretty, like the swimming pools etc. Liked the table tennis and volleyball, and the gardens are nice as well. The beach sand is soft and lovely to walk there, and the river is beautiful too.

The geese swimming in the pools, as they poop in there too so its a bit of a health hazard should you swallow some of the water. The maintenance in the rooms are not great, and the rooms look quite old fashioned. The corridors are dirty and paint peeling, the workers are not the friendliest, but the reception staff is friendly. There are gluten free options but they are not nice. The food to us was not great at the a la carte restaurants or the buffet.

We got the all inclusive and it had everything we wanted there.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre séjour. Le personnel est vraiment au top : accueillant, souriant, disponible et toujours à l’écoute. L’hôtel propose également un très grand choix de restauration avec 9 restaurants sur place, ce qui permet de varier les plaisirs tout au long du séjour. L’ensemble des installations est agréable et contribue à passer d’excellentes vacances.

Le principal point négatif est l’absence d’accès direct aux transports en commun. L’hôtel est également assez éloigné de la ville et des principaux centres d’intérêt. Les déplacements nécessitent donc souvent de prendre un taxi, ce qui peut représenter un coût assez élevé

Das Hotel ist ein kleiner Traum. Es überzeugt mit einem traumhaften Palmenstrand und dem sehr guten Essen in den 8 Restaurants. Das Herzstück des Hotels ist allerdings das unfassbar netten, zuvorkommende und witzige Personal. Wir haben uns pudelwohl gefühlt und können es nur jedem empfehlen

If you’re searching for a hotel that redefines how low the bar can go, look no further, this place is a masterpiece of mismanagement. The spa is so tiny it should come with a disclaimer: “Don’t blink or you’ll miss it.” Room service? They promised they were coming. I’m still waiting. Perhaps they took a wrong turn and never returned. But the real highlight of the stay was the front desk, led by the unforgettable Tatiana, a shining example of what happens when customer service training is replaced with pure improvisation. Before even arriving in Mauritius, I call for a simple reservation confirmation document to ease embarkation at airport. Tatiana informed me it was “already night” and asked if I’d be happy if they called me at 20h00. Yes, because nothing says “4‑star hotel” like a front desk that apparently clocks out before sunset. And since I didn’t book directly with them, she kindly suggested I “check Booking.com myself.” Truly inspirational. Why assist a guest when you can outsource your job to the internet?

I recently stayed at The Ravenala Attitude with my mum, and we had a wonderful time! The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. We did encounter a minor issue with our initial room assignment, but it was resolved rapidly and professionally. A special shout-out to Rahul at the boathouse for being so helpful and accommodating, as well as Roma and Venita/Vedita (apologies if I misspelled the name!) for being so incredibly proactive. Thank you for a great stay

Lack of staff during pick seasons. Menu not that special for a mauritian. The night club 'after' need to be more modern like a real one and have some snacks like peanuts etc. No minibar facilities for this price.

The hotel is stunning...Beautiful location and very friendly staff, who went out of their way to assist with any request we had. Definitely worth revisiting, once construction is complete.

Our room was near a construction site (some rooms were being renovated). The noise during the day was unbelievable, we had go out most days. The renovations upstairs caused a leak into our room, however it was handled quickly by the staff. Would highly recommend having the tea/coffee ingredients in the rooms. Having to walk all the way to the reception area/cupboard for tea/coffee ingredients discourages one.

Restaurant principal dîner et petit déjeuner, qualité des plats médiocres (manque de cuissons de certains plats) Pas d’oeufs au plat ou omelettes proposés au petit déjeuner, bacon fade, oeufs brouillés fait au four vapeur, fade et gorgé d’eau. Pancake caoutchouteux, sauce chocolat avec une impression de dilution à l’eau. L’employé s’occupant du Juice bar, nonchalant, ne propose rien. Les desserts au Bistrots n’étaient pas bons, comme les « 3 crèmes royals » qui étaient en faite, 3 gelées solides d’agar-agar assez fades. Musique d’ambiance de la plage à revoir.

Lot of space in the rooms, in the teritory. Six different restaurants included into the price. Live music every evening. Very polite staff.

Breakfast is the same every day. Dinner in the main restaurant is more or less the same taste. Many mosquitos in the room.

Variety of food, staff were friendly.

Check-in was very long, we waited for the room to be prepared and we put in a room almost at the end of the resort. We were informed we will be given 2 bottles of water but we had to asked for the water.

The All inclusive package is worth it. The staff are vey attentive and always out to ensure you enjoy your stay.

The room walls are quite thin between interconnected rooms, hopefully you don’t have noisy neighbours.

The breakfast was satisfactory, with a good variety of options to choose from. The staff were friendly and always smiling, and any issues were resolved quite quickly.

We did not like that: - All expenses were charged to the room, and we were unable to pay immediately by card, which made it difficult to keep track of spending. - There were cats and birds around the food table at all times. - The bathroom amenities were very limited (no toothpaste, slippers, bathrobe, etc.), and basic items like forks, plates, were missing. Even for tea or coffee, we had to go elsewhere due to green environment policy.

Amazing restaurants, great food. We loved the kids club. The staff was so friendly.

The Staff cleaned daily but I had to ask for the toilet to be cleaned on day 4. This should be done daily as well.

Das Hotel macht insgesamt einen sehr großzügigen und sauberen Eindruck. Die gesamte Anlage ist äußerst gepflegt, was den Aufenthalt angenehm macht. Besonders hervorzuheben sind die sehr bequemen Betten, in denen man hervorragend schlafen kann. Ein echtes Highlight war der frisch gepresste Fruchtsaft am Strand – unbedingt ausprobieren! Das Abendessen war in den reservierbaren Restaurants sehr lecker, das Frühstück ist ausbaufähig.

Der Strand selbst ist leider nicht ganz so schön wie in anderen Regionen der Insel. Unser Zimmer befand sich in einem Bereich, in dem rundherum Bauarbeiten stattfanden. Das hat uns ehrlich gesagt gewundert, da wir uns gefragt haben, warum Gäste überhaupt in diesen Abschnitt ein Zimmer gegeben wurde. Zwar wurde uns ein Zimmerwechsel angeboten, allerdings erst nach drei Tagen – da hatten wir dann keine Lust mehr, erneut alles zu packen. Das Personal wirkte teilweise etwas träge und nicht immer besonders engagiert.

Lovely pool and beach. Rooms were spacious and clean, thank you to Halim our house keeping gentleman. Kids loved every minute of it. Mo at the pool bar was great. Another compliment to our waiter, Nalan Palindrome at Madam Ming, he was great and went over and above to make our evening special and entertain the kids. Definitely recommended to families or couples looking for a well run, all inclusive resort in Mauritius

I would like to highlight the service of the staff. All employees are very helpful, polite, and accommodating. I would especially like to thank the manager of the Mozaik restaurant, Seam, who was very helpful and humane, empathetic. My thanks also go to the head chef, all the housekeeping and receptionists.

The services at the Bistro restaurant was very good but the staff at O Beach and Madame Ming was superb for dinner. Breakfast was okay. Room was very clean and well organized.

The front office service for check in and check out was not to my level of expectations eg. staff assisted clients that came after me first, waiting time was over 45 minutes, some clients received welcome drinks and fresh towels while others didn't and the porter service was too slow - 45 minutes upon check out when they state 20 minutes on their check out letter to clients.

I have visited the Ravenala Attitude for the 2nd time and it was my best stay ever! The resort is just amazing, it offers so many possibilities even if you are travelling solo, you feel safe and warmly welcomed. Everyone makes your stay so enjoyable, especially Yashraj and Vishal as kitchen chefs are so adorable and offer a great variety if delicious dishes. Nirmal from the service team, Shibham from the Bar service, Shivam from the pool service and the Ladies from the POZ spa Jessica, Ridika and Reema are providing exceptional service for their guest. Thanks so much everyone for making my holidays so great!

Nous sommes venu il y a 3 ans et étions contents. En revenant ce mois-ci, l’hôtel s’est bien dégradé car n’a pas été entretenu correctement. Le service est déplorable. Ils engagent du personnel indien non formé le service est presque un spectacle d’incompétence et d’erreur répétée. L’hôtel devient obsolète. Tout est à rénover. Piscines, sanitaires, peinture…

This resort accommodates for families! Our children was so comfortable! We especially loved the food and the live entertainment in the evenings. Our kids danced till they passed out! The beach , rooms etc was exceptionally well kept! This was our second stay, and surely not our last!

En del personal var jättetrevliga framförallt på stranden medans några vid restaurangerna var mindre bra. Ex. ha´´hade vi bokat bord kl 20.30, de ringer oss o checkar av om vi kan komma tidigare. Vi anländer före kl 20. Kyparen som tar emot oss vill att vi ska beställa all mat på en gång för de stänger snart och då har vi ändå dykt upp drygt 30 min innan bokad tid. Buffen var ok men inte mer.

Eco friendly hotel and generally friendly staff

Staff told us to negotiate prices with the hotel taxi drivers ourselves but the drivers were changing the prices as and when it suited them - didn’t seem to be following any set fares. The staff were completely avoidant of any responsibility or help when asked about this- expect better service for the price of the hotel. Room finishes a bit dated for the price. Friends had problems with lizards in the bedroom and staff not readily helpful

Food resort layout

The rooms are moldy staff kept delaying resolution and know abou this issue when the put u in a moldy room they take forever to resolve this it took half our stay to resolve and really affected our health. Be careful to book here so that mold is not funny

Absolutely well looked after by the receptionists and bar staff and the restaurants especially vinaye in the restaurant looked after us very well. And the staff when my girlfriend broke her foot on our last 2 days with a wheelchair and anything we need we only needed.to.ask

Only complaint would give the toilet in the bathroom had a urine smell but that is being over fussy

Basically everything. Food was amazing, staff was so friendly and went out of their way to make our stay unforgettable. Location is also amazing, had so much fun with the water activities.

Aircon in our room wasn't working for 3 nights, eventually had to move to another room.
