Incredible, luxurious property with amazing amenities. In a quiet, serene location but a 5 minute water taxi ride from the heart of positano. The pool, the views, the beach club were perfection. We will be back.

The Grand Hotel Tritone on the cliff side of Praiano was exquisite with breathtaking views of Capri! The staff was very helpful and accommodations were 5 star! The beachclub and private beach were perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the Tyrrhenian Sea! The breakfast spread was massive with mimosas, an omelette station and every pastry you can desire! The city of Praiano was the perfect place to enjoy the Amalfi coast! Only 10 mins from both busy Positano and Amalfi. Also, very easy to get a water taxi with the hotel’s own dock. I would definitely stay here again!

The small elevator without any air conditioning. It took 4 4 elevators to get to the beachclub. But it was so with it- better than taking the 408 steps.

A wonderful hotel in a truly unique location. The entire staff were incredibly kind and made our holiday one to remember and recommend to friends. Many great things but the overall attentiveness and positivity of the staff was probably the stand out positive for us.

I’ve been visiting the Amalfi Coast for over 5 years, but this was the first time I had the pleasure of staying at the Grand Hotel Tritone. It is a hotel that, when seen from the sea, immediately impresses you with its beauty and grandeur. Every time I passed by on a boat tour, the guide would always mention this hotel and its famous “impossible staircase.” It had always intrigued me, but I never imagined there was such a touching, almost cinematic story behind it.I had the chance to discover it thanks to the book I was given at check-out by Laura, a lovely, friendly, and welcoming receptionist. The story of the Grand Hotel Tritone and the dream of its founder is truly moving, and it makes this place even more special. You can genuinely feel it in the atmosphere throughout the hotel a magical, peaceful, and welcoming place.Every member of the staff is kind, professional, and genuinely warm. You can tell they enjoy what they do, and they are always ready to help with a smile. Since I know the Amalfi Coast quite well, I asked them to arrange a boat tour, and they found the perfect solution for my wife and me.The breakfast is outstanding, with an excellent variety of high-quality products. I especially loved the croissants, the best I have ever tasted, and the delicious chocolate cake. The Beach Club is a little piece of paradise, the perfect place to relax and enjoy lunch overlooking the sea. Every day I happily climbed the famous “impossible staircase” back up from the beach, while my wife preferred taking the elevators. At the top, I would head to the gym, where I met Genaro, the personal trainer. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and always available to help in the most discreet and professional way, never being intrusive. Another experience I highly recommend is the pizza at the hotel’s bistro. It was excellent, and the staff there were just as friendly and welcoming.A special thank you to Alex and Luigi for the fantastic cocktails and their great hospitality.Finally, my heartfelt thanks to the entire staff and to the Gagliano family for creating and preserving such an extraordinary place. Beautiful place, elevators, good breakfast, really good waiters at restaurants.

The hotel is isolated, which is not a bad thing, but the problem is that they don’t put in a lot of effort to make up for that. For example 3 separate times I was stranded somewhere, 10-15 mins away. I asked them to help, and they just said “it’s not possible”. In one instance they could have sent a boat taxi. But they always just said “not possible” and I would have to figure it out on my own. Another thing. There is absolutely no food at all after 22:00 (10PM). No snacks, nothing in your room, and certainly no room service. So this means that not only are you SOL after a certain time, but you can’t even get to the nearby town 5 mins away to get a snack, because any transportation here is “not possible”.

The facilities are outstanding, with everything you need for a relaxing and luxurious vacation. The highlight of our stay was definitely the private Ninó beach club. It is, without a doubt, the most beautiful beach club on the Amalfi Coast. The crystal-clear sea, elegant sunbathing areas, excellent service, and peaceful atmosphere make it a truly unique place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the coastline. I highly recommend the Grand Hotel Tritone to anyone looking for an unforgettable experience on the Amalfi Coast. We can’t wait to come back!

The Tritone remains an absolute gem. In actual fact it only gets better with the family upgrading facilities constantly and infusing the hotel with love / passion. We’ve becoming for 30 odd years, firstly as teenagers ourselves and now as parents either 3 children of 7,8 and 9. It’s a home from home run by the same wonderful family who built and have run the hotel for 69 years. Heavenly 🙏🏻.

The Grand Hotel Tritone is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful hotels I’ve ever seen. Built into the cliffs, it feels like something straight out of a movie. The private beach is stunning, the pool is spectacular, and every corner of the property reflects the charm and beauty of the Amalfi Coast. The architecture and setting are truly unforgettable. Unfortunately, the rooms don’t live up to what you would expect from a five-star hotel in Italy. We traveled as a family and booked two different room categories. The Deluxe Room with Terrace and Sea View was nice and met our expectations, although it is significantly more expensive. The Double Room Standard with Partial Sea View, however, was a major disappointment. The room itself is quite small, but the biggest issue is the lack of sound insulation. You can hear suitcases rolling through the hallway, conversations from the neighboring rooms, toilets flushing, showers running, and even hair dryers from rooms down the corridor while waiting for the elevator. It feels as if there are paper-thin walls. Another major issue is the light. The windows have only blackout curtains, with no shutters or proper blinds. They simply aren’t enough to block the strong morning sunlight. Waking up at 6 a.m. every day because of the sunrise—combined with the noise from neighboring rooms—is not how anyone wants to spend a vacation. We asked to change rooms, and although the staff was kind and offered us another one, it was actually even worse. The bed was an extremely small standard double bed that wouldn’t comfortably fit a tall or larger person. The shower was tiny, almost triangular, and I honestly don’t think anyone over 1.60 m (5’3”) or around 60 kg (132 lbs) could use it comfortably. Sadly, these issues completely ruined our experience. The staff is polite and helpful, but they don’t create the warm, memorable hospitality that we experienced in other hotels throughout the Amalfi Coast. The service is professional, but it lacks the warmth that makes a stay truly special. In the end, this is a hotel with breathtaking views and a cinematic location, but beauty alone isn’t enough. Comfort matters, especially at this price point. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend it, and I wouldn’t return.

Every aspect of this hotel was an incredible experience. The staff! The location! The food. All 10/10. We will be back with our daughter. What a week we have had. So close to visit the isle of Capri and Positano. The shuttle into the city is awesome too. Would recommend anyone to stay here.

The hotel and the site are absolutely stunning and the food is excellent. But, what separates this facility from others we have stayed at is the staff: the entire team is incredible and truly makes this one of the best hotel experiences that you can have.

I would be hard pressed to come up with something I didn't like and actually found that being removed from Amalfi proper was the best decision we made, rather than it being an inconvenience. The private water taxi to Amalfi was amazing and allowed for time on the water and gives one an exceptional view of the coast. Plus, being equidistant from Amalfo and Positano allows for convenient access to both towns.

Egal, wo man in diesem Hotel sitzt oder sich aufhält, alles wirkt perfekt. Wir schätzen dieses Hotel jetzt sogar noch mehr, weil wir aktuell in einem 5-Sterne-Hotel in Sorrent sind – und es ist überhaupt nicht zu vergleichen. Hier in Sorrent ist es laut, überfüllt und hektisch. Wir haben es auf die harte Tour gelernt. Deshalb können wir nur sagen: Wenn ihr das Glück habt, dieses Hotel zu finden, dann zögert nicht und bucht! Ich selbst war anfangs etwas unsicher, aber wir waren dort so unglaublich glücklich und entspannt. Über das Personal muss man eigentlich gar nicht viel sagen – einfach hervorragend. Freundlich, aufmerksam und immer hilfsbereit. Für uns war es ein Traumurlaub. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder! Best Cappuccino as well

The whole experience staying in Grand Hotel Tritone is exceptional. The beach and view are just awesome. Staffs are friendly and helpful throughout the stay and I must give credit to the awesome junior suite room which I have specially requested for a nice balcony view for me to propose to my girlfriend. We had a wonderful stay and I left the hotel with a fiancé. We are already planning to return in the near future.

Unfortunately due to the night we stay, they had a private wedding event going on which we are unable to dine in at their restaurant. Nothing about the hotel, just unlucky I guess.

The moment I arrived I found the staff professional, kind and friendly. I truly did feel like I was their only guest at times ! The service extended into every meal. Such pride in presentation and attention. Every bite was divine.. it was so convenient to have the three options for restaurants and the beautiful breakfast buffet in the morning . The facilities are pristine. The staff always available, but not obtrusive. I especially enjoyed the upper pool. I also enjoyed meals in my room on the terrace. I was traveling with my two adult daughters who shared a room right next to mine. Within 48 hours of my arrival I extended my stay at the grand Hotel Treton from 7 to 10 nights! Thank you to the entire staff for one of my most memorable vacations!

I truly enjoyed my stay at this hotel—it’s easily among the top five I’ve experienced. From the start, they arranged transportation in advance and throughout the journey. Their replies were swift, extremely informative, and they consistently went the extra mile to ensure everything ran smoothly. The staff noticed it was my birthday and immediately upgraded my room, even surprising me with a complimentary bottle of champagne. At dinner, they had prepared a birthday cake in advance. Every detail was so thoughtful—it’s clear they are genuinely customer‑centric. What impressed me most was their attentiveness. During my three‑day stay, they never once asked which room I was in—they simply knew. They remembered who we were, our room, and even our plans and transport arrangements, despite having many guests. That level of care was remarkable. Special thanks to Gennaro, Stefano, all the receptionists, and the waiter who served me during my birthday dinner and breakfast (apologies for not asking your name). I truly enjoyed speaking with you all—you were kind, attentive, and helpful. Overall: 10/10. I would definitely return someday. Compared to Positano, I found Praiano’s calmness and quietness far more appealing. If you’re deciding between staying in a busy, convenient spot or somewhere a little farther but more peaceful, I highly recommend this hotel for slow travelers —you’ll love it.

Amazing hotel!! We stayed for a week and every day was magical. The staff were so friendly and helpful; especially Laura from reception and Rocco in the breakfast room. Each restaurant area had fantastic service, particularly the high end restaurant that had a team of staff to assist us throughout the meal. The food was wonderful in each location. I can’t say enough about the room and the view from our balcony; waking up to the sound of the sea, the birds and hearing the church bells from Praiano was so peaceful. The views were incredible all over the hotel. We used the hotel shuttle into Praiano only once, as the restaurants we reserved were not within walking distance of the drop off; taxis were more efficient. We used mostly water taxis and private taxi verses the bus, which were expensive but worth the convenience. Coming back to the hotel after a day walking through congested streets of the various cities was like returning to an island of tranquility. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Without a doubt, this was the most amazing hotel experience I’ve ever had! My husband and I visited this hotel for our elopement and were blown away by how beautiful, unique, and hospitable everything was. It is located on the outside of Praiano, making it actually pretty close to Positano but without all the crowds and noise. With views of the cliffs, Praiano, and Positano depending on which of the many terraces we were standing on, it felt like we were in heaven. The rooms each have beautiful views and terraces with the most comfortable beds and very clean. The restaurant rivaled many Michelin star restaurants I’ve been to with the most attentive and helpful staff in restaurant and bar — Alessandro (both of them!), Antonio, and Rocco were fabulous. The family legacy of the hotel made it feel even more special — the owner was there with his adorable dogs and it made us feel like we were “home” with how connected we felt with the staff. The concierge was very helpful to us and they provide shuttle to and from Praiano or help you find a water taxi. This hotel is unique in that it has elevated cliff views but also has an elevator going down to the beach to its own beach club and boat pickup area, making it very convenient if you want to book a boat ride. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and am so glad it now holds a special place for us as the beginning of our marriage together. We cannot wait to return!

We recently stoped at this hotel for a couple of nights for my 40th birthday, I don’t usually write reviews but I only think it’s right to show appreciation to the hotel and its staff. From our arrival we were treated to the finest hotel experience I have ever received and I like to think I have stopped at some nice 5star hotels but this exceeded my expectations. As an architect by profession the hotel was full of well designed spaces decorated to the highest of standards and the setting on a cliff edge treated us to the most spectacular views of the dramatic coastline. Our room was a suite again the attention to detail and views were to die for. The staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us, the dining was an experience in its self with every dish presented and introduced on where the food was sourced and cooked in fine detail. The wine list and cellar was exceptional with the staff detailing and helping us choose the perfect wines to suit the moment. Overall what I loved about the hotel was the personal touches and the family feeling we were part of whilst staying there. We met the owners who were so inviting and there beautiful dogs again made our stay feel so warm. The location was perfect with access various towns on the coast and they even offer a free shuttle As you can tell I’m a big fan and I can’t wait to go back with my family x x x

There are very few places in the world that reinvigorate your heart & soul as strongly as Grand Hotel Tritone. This was our second stay in just two and a half years, and if anything, the experience has only deepened. What was first a honeymoon stop has now cemented itself as a home away from home. It remains one of the most incredibly beautiful and relaxing destinations on the coast—a true sanctuary where the views are matched only by the warmth of the hospitality. The improvements they made over the 2.5 year span were a wonderful surprise, including the brand new bar, a gym, and plush beach loungers. What truly elevates this hotel from beautiful to legendary is the staff. They are warm, professional, and move with an attentiveness that makes you feel entirely looked after without ever being intrusive. A massive thank you to the team who made our stay so memorable. Too many to name, but here are the few who really stood out: • Luigi (Bar & Restaurant Manager): A true master of hospitality. Luigi has a rare gift for making every single guest feel like the most important person in the room. He is warm yet professional and always happy to engage in conversation. We cried when we said goodbye - he is in our hearts forever. • Rocco (Restaurant Manager): always walks with a smile and his head held high. He is inviting and ensures each guest feels both welcome and taken care of. • Paolo (Nino Beach Club Manager) & Chiara (Server): The team at Nino Beach Club creates such a vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to unwind, thanks to their constant energy and care. • Alessandro (Server): provided stellar service as our waiter at both the Bistro and and Nino Beach Club. Every meal with him felt like we were at a 5-star restaurant. • Andrea (Master Bartender) & Marco (Bartender): The craft and care put into the drinks here are second to none. Whether it was a classic or a custom creation, these two are absolute artists behind the bar. If you are looking for a place that feels like a second home—but with unforgettable views and world-class service—this is it. We are already counting down the days until our third visit.

Year after year, this place keeps getting more and more beautiful. Over the past two years, I had only stopped by the Grand Hotel Tritone for a sunset aperitif, but this year I finally stayed there and it exceeded all my expectations. Every time I return, I find the hotel even more refined, colorful, and perfectly in harmony with the authentic style of the Amalfi Coast. What truly makes the difference, though, is the atmosphere: this is not just a hotel, but a place with soul, run by amazing people who make you feel at home from the very first moment. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the breakfast is outstanding, and the overall food quality is simply the best I have ever experienced. The Amalfi Coast is already a dream destination, but the Grand Hotel Tritone is something truly unique, it elevates the entire experience to another level. I genuinely hope to come back very soon. There are plenty of better hotels on the Amalfi coast but gets a top rating for brilliant direct water front access which is typically only at MUCH more expensive hotel (San Pietro etc.). Great value here.

Excellent! Our stay at the Grand Hotel Tritone was the highlight of our trip to Italy. Tranquil and relaxing setting, offering spectacular views to Praiano and Positano. Easy to visit the neighboring villages by water taxi. Our room was spacious, clean and had comfortable beds. Very good breakfast buffet. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful time at the GHT. Their website truly does not show how beautiful the rooms were and show the amazing property. The hotel staff was very responsive to all our needs and offered great hospitality. We arrived by ferry to Positano and quickly were picked up by a water taxi. The hotel arranged a boat tour for us. The free shuttle was a nice perk and took us into Praiano for dinners. Would recommend.

Just got back from our 3rd stay at GHT and we will certainly be going back! The immense renovations they have done to the hotel over this past winter are absolutely incredible, the upgraded bar is beautiful. (Alex is an excellent bartender!!) The views from every angle are unparalleled. All of the staff members are extremely accommodating! Alfonso, Delia, Silke and Laura ensure you have everything you need from getting dinner reservations, to transfers, and everything in between. Seeing the family dogs everyday always puts a smile on our faces. There’s no other hotel that makes you feel like you are part of the family like they do at the Grand Hotel Tritone. Any day at the hotel is bound to be a great day. One could truly stay here the entirety of their trip and never leave, the bistrot has absolutely incredible pizza and meatballs and the beach bar has delicious fresh seafood for lunch with endless views of the Amalfi coast. Congratulations to the Gagliano family on getting the 5th star and we can’t wait to be back next season!

Absolutely spectacular in every way

I stayed at the Grand Hotel Tritone this August and it was a truly magnificent experience. From my room, I could admire both sunrises and sunsets with incredible colors. The food was fantastic, with a choice of three different restaurants offering the opportunity to discover all the flavors of the region, including excellent pizza at the Bistrot. Despite the exclusive beauty of the place, the real highlight is without a doubt the ownership and the hotel staff. Their warm and professional welcome is unlike anything I have ever encountered in all my travels around the world. I LOVE THIS PLACE! We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of August and are still raving about our stay. It was absolutely incredible. Before we even left we talked about how we have to return. It's stunning. I think the thing we loved most about Tritone was the private beach club! We absolutely loved hanging out here and relaxing and swimming. The staff at the beach club are friendly and make amazing drinks. It was so perfect to have this instead of trapsing to Positano for a beach club. The staff here are lovely and so accommodating and helpful. They were always there when you needed them. The room was perfectly adequate for our stay and had a private balcony with a gorgeous view of Positano and a view from our shower which was so fun. It was super clean and had everything we needed. The location of the hotel is close to Positano and actually has a bus stop right in front of it which we unfortunately didn't discover until the second to last day but would have made things a lot less expensive than taking a private transfer! The hotel also has a free transfer to the town of Praiano which we took advantage of one night. The hotel is so gorgeous and so are the grounds. I love how they kept all the windows open and as you walked by you could feel a delightful breeze. Since it is up high there are so many stunning view from around the property. I really can't say enough good things about Tritone. I cannot wait to come back here. It was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Italy!

The most spectacular views , wonderful staff , 2 pools at upper cliff level and one at sea level , and elevator to their private sun chairs on the water , water taxis for a fee to Positano. Fabulous property. A delicious breakfast included as well. Note : Water access however not at a sandy area - must jump into the water from a ladder. Small beach one can swim to easily but it’s somewhat rocky like most Amalfi beaches. Float pool noodles provided to swim in the sea. It was wonderful.

Amazing setting. Beautiful from everywhere

Getting into and out of it was hard

The most breathtaking spot we have ever vacationed! The property is well-maintained, very clean, and inviting at every level. The staff were friendly, accommodating and accessible. The food quality was outstanding and the value was as you would expect from a higher-end resort. On the negative side, we were quite disappointed upon check-in, when our accommodation was not at all up to our expectations. We had booked a junior suite based on the photos and descriptions represented on the hotel’s website. The “suite” we were assigned was anything but. It was a small, cramped room, with no lounge chairs on the deck, no tub, one sink, and nothing at all like what was advertised. Fortunately, we were able to get moved to a more suitable room, but that was not a good way to start our stay. From a value perspective, at this price, I would’ve expected the amenities to be on a higher level. The tissues provided were nothing more than single sheets of toilet tissue in a box, there were two cans of water provided at check-in and never replaced, and the water pressure in the shower was dreadfully inadequate. While I would encourage the hotel to address these shortcomings, they were not insurmountable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Amazing hotel

I want to start by saying that we have been coming to the Grande Hotel Tritone since 2019 and it is a beautiful property. A beautiful private beach, amazing rooms, with amazing views! The staff is warm and professional and this year, they went above and beyond when my tooth broke and I had a dental emergency. They were quick to help find a dentist and bring me there and back. I highly recommend this hotel!

Simply amazing. Gorgeous hotel all around! The staff is extremely helpful, hard working friendly and welcoming! They did everything to make sure our stay was special and helped arrange transportation, a boat day and dinner reservations. The views are unbelievable. Can’t wait to visit again someday!

WOW! what an experience, not just a hotel, they have it covered from every detail to make this a 5 star vacation! Loved staying in Praiano instead of Positano. Much quieter and easy access wtih the water taxi that the hotel will arrange to take you into town. Also free shuttle into Praiano. Can't wait to come back!

The room was very clean and bright. The view from every angle of the hotel was spectacular. The breakfast was delicious and wide choice of different food. The staff were very friendly , helpful and professional.

I think the best way to describe my experience at GHT is that the minute I walked into the beautiful room and the incredibly helpful front desk employee opened the doors to my balcony, I cried. GHT is breathtaking. Its beach is the best on the Amalfi Coast. The service is incredible. The rooms are very well appointed. At the risk of sounding like a snob, I hesitated when I saw that GHT is “only” a 4-star hotel. Don’t be fooled. This is 5-star all around. There’s a reason the reviews are that good. Every interaction was special. This property is a treasure. I cannot wait to return.

This is the greatest hotel I have ever stayed at. My wife and I spent two incredible weeks at GHT for our honeymoon. The staff, views, and amenities are just out of this world. The way this hotel was built and designed is just unbelievable in every way. I will never forget it. Just walking around the property, and down to the beach, is just such a unique experience. This was worth every penny, and we would absolutely stay here again, and hope to. This is a top tier hotel. The service is wonderful and family like. The only aspect that my wife and I did not like, was the amount of small children staying at the hotel while we were there. Parents had zero control over their kids running around and screaming. This was multiple families throughout the two weeks. People can be very inconsiderate, and made the beach club way less peaceful than it should have been for what we paid. I’m not saying make it an adult only hotel, but I certainly would not complain at all. Also not having a shuttle to Positano and only to the center of Praiano was slightly inconvenient. But we made the transportation work.

The service exceeded our expectations: the food was delicious and every detail was carefully considered. Breakfast, accompanied by a breathtaking sea view, was a truly enjoyable ritual every morning. The attentive waiters greeted us with a warm smile and made the meal even more enjoyable. Overall, a very pleasant stay thanks to a friendly, professional team, always ready to make us feel at home. Recommended for those seeking a relaxing, high-quality experience in Praiano.
