Best hotel in our trip around Sicily. Super nice breakfast, amazing views from the city and good swimming pool with service. The free access to the Lido in the sister Hotel is also nice .

Nothing really relevant. Maybe only the elevator that was old and tight and sometimes too busy or out of order.

Beautiful property with a wonderful pool. Staff was friendly and eager to please. Delicious breakfast included. Good water pressure in the large shower. A short walk to City Center. Highly recommend.

Terrible tiny beds

The view from the room was amazing! We booked a room with terrace, and we could look out over Taormina at the sea and also to the right a clear view of Mt. Etna. We also used the shuttle for a half-day visit to the beach at the sister hotel. Towels and umbrella were provided, and the beach was not crowded. Would recommend.

Without a car, it is quite a hike uphill from the main streets of Taormina to the hotel.

Llegamos y seguía lloviendo por lo que no sabíamos si bajar y nos quedamos en el auto un rato y salió una empleada llamada Monalisa gritándonos que nos fuéramos de ahí que era para los taxis, una ordinaria que se debe creer que es gerenta del Waldorf Astoria

THE BATHROOM was a disgrace. Clean but tiny old shower and a disgusting smell coming up from the basin which they tried valiantly to fix to no avail The aircon was being fixed almost every day of our stay and was totally inadequate barely cold enough

The room balcony and the fantastic view, the breakfast area (same view!) and the pool area, which was very peaceful and refreshing. The staff and the service were excellent.

The room was quite small, had no safe, no tissues, no free water, cheap cosmetics, cheap furniture and the AC didn't work very well.

There was no restaurant. Breakfast was very limited. The only air conditioning was in the bedrooms, not even in the bathroom and it didn’t work very well. The whole hotel is very dated. The beds were like rock. Was told we had to use our pool towels 2 days in a row even though we had nowhere to dry them as we had no balcony. There was no coffee or tea making facilities in the room. Got charged room service for asking for hot water to make my own tea with my own tea bags.

Vista spettacolare sul mare e sull'Etna. Posizione, vicino al centro raggiungibile tramite una scala. Il personale fantastico, disponibile e gentilissimo. Colazione nella media. Frigobar pienissimo. La piscina sul retro offre relax e tranquillità.

Un peccato per le camere e i bagni che purtroppo non rispecchiano un 4 stelle, sarebbero da ristrutturare per rendere questo hotel un vero gioiello.

El aire acondicionado de la habitacion era muy antiguo, hacia mucho ruido y no era capaz de enfriar la habitacion cuando hacia mucho calor fuera. Tambien fallaba la ducha, tenia muy poco caudal.

Amazing views of Etna and the sea. Comfortable beds in rooms. Bit cramped as a family of 4 sharing and bathroom a bit tired but overall very clean. Hotel little dated in areas but it had Sicilian charm. Bar service at the pool by calling the pool phone and ordering. Basic menu for snacks (toasties only) but very attentive staff . Breakfast was excellent and all round we loved our stay.

Bit of a walk uphill from the main road in Taormina after shopping / eating or drinking but good exercise to work off the carbs ! Little dated but very clean.

El hotel está para reformar por dentro algunas cosas como ranuras de las puertas, suelo del baño. A mi sálida, me encontré muchas hormigas pegadas a una shopping bag que llevaba. Estaban en la habitación, imagino que salieron de una silla donde tenía la bolsa colocada y también sé que algunas venían de la alfombra.

Personal muy agradable, ubicación excelente, buenos desayunos, la piscina con unas vistas al Etna insuperables, todo genial

Personalet var superhyggelige. Frokosten var helt som forventet, og lik veldig mange andre steder i Italia. Balkongen (vi bestilte med balkong og utsikt mot havet) og utsikten fra rommet var helt fantastisk. Så hele byen og buktene langt nedover kysten. En fantastisk utsikt til Etna hadde vi også.

Sengene var veldig harde. Hoellet er litt slitt, men har allikevel en sjarme pga inetriør og stil bevart fra 60-tallet. Det er noe ekte og gir en god atmosfære. Bassenområdet og bassenget var også veldig fint.

Prachtig uitzicht vanuit de kamer en het terras. Goede ligging om te voet een aantal bezoekjes te plannen. In de buurt vind je een hele variatie aan restaurants.

The location was great, the pool area really charming, the view from the balcony was spectacular (the common area and the room balcony), the staff was really friendly and helpful

Vi elskede dette hotel, anbefaler det varmt! Fantastisk charmerende “klassisk” hotel. Rummelige balkoner med udsigt over Etna og havet. Superfin service og venligt personale overalt - reception, morgenmad, pool. Idyllisk have med rummelig og rolig pool og direkte telefonlinje til baren, hvis man vil have serveret en drink eller toast. Fri adgang til stranden ved søster-hotellet (10 minutters biltur), og den er meget bedre end stranden ved Taormina/Isola Bella, da der er færre mennesker og gratis stole, parasoller og håndklæder.

The staff was amazing. The location was great and the view was phenomenal.

The place is very dated. And the air conditioning was poor. They for us a fan to help with it but still pretty warm for us.

The property was picturesque. A short walk to centre of town. The property is well maintained and very clean. The pool are was exceptional. The views were spectacular.

Établissement typiquement italien avec une déco rétro qui nous transporte dans une vieille grande demeure de l’époque! Il possède néanmoins tous les services nécessaires, dont la Clim et les chambres du 2-3-4eme étages dont toutes dotées de terrasses gigantesques avec vue sur toute la baie, l’Etna et les alentours!!! Certains n’aimeront pas le côté « vieillot »moi j’ai adoré et c’est en totale adéquation avec le petit village de Taormina qui se trouve à 5 minutes à pieds! L’hotel entouré de jolis jardins, avec des fleurs qui sentent bon, des citronniers, des pins, des oliviers, des palmiers et avec des points vues imprenables sur la baie des Giardinis di Naxos. Vous pouvez faire une vraie balade de santé en visitant tous les recoins si vous avez le courage d’aller jusqu’en haut! La piscine est jolie, reposante et le service de bar peut se faire par téléphone. Génial! Manquent juste des WC… Le personnel est au petit soin et à l’écoute du lever du coucher, tout le monde est adorable, souriant et au service des clients. Merci à l’équipe de l’hôtel qui est au top!!!! Grazie ta tutti!

Les dalles de bains mériteraient une rénovation et les douches sont minuscules et l’eau est difficile à gérer entre le froid/chaud. Autre point que je n’ai pas aimé du tout c’est la petite plage de l’hôtel partenaire. Petite, pleine de cailloux et dans une cuvette qui retient la chaleur. Elle en n’apporte rien, heureusement que j’ai pris la demi journée seulement!

THE VIEW AND TERRACE, NICE QUIET POOL AREA

The hotel is dated, dirty stained rugs in rooms, we put them outside! Bathrooms and rooms need total renovation, breakfast is inedable cold so called eggs! Hot dogs, and not cooked bacon, nothing for diabetics ie- bread etc , I had nothing all week, 24 hour service???? Half hour wait outside ringing and trying to get in?? He was upstairs watching the football!! Tiny lift, dangerous steps to pool area, no hand rails, this place is not 4 stars !!!! , at best is 2, the housekeepers are great and do there best ,but it's just needs major investment! The views are the best in Taormina but for the price ,go elsewhere!

Amazing views of the coast, Etna and Taormina all at once. Loved the views. Andrea the waiter who looks like Remi Malik was amazing. Relaxing time for us.

Very outdated decor. Stuck in a time warp. The facilties need addressing, for example you have to go 5 floors down from the pool to get to a toilet.

La ubicación es muy buena. La piscina es inmejorable. Excelente terraza, con vistas a la ciudad y la bahia. El desayunador cuenta con hermosas vistas tambien. La habitación es muy bonita y bien mantenida y cuenta con un balcon gigante de uso propio.

Agregaria una pava electrica en la habitación y algunos tecitos de cortesia.

Fabulous hotel in a perfect location. Our room had beautiful sea views, and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay. The breakfast was excellent, served on a terrace overlooking the sea, making each morning extra special. Ideally located just above the main street, everything was within easy reach. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Gorgeous pool with stunning view, welcoming and helpful staff, very good breakfast buffet, excellent terrace, close to attractions in town, charming decor. Spacious closet, big shower with bath tub.

The place could use some updates, such as the elevator is tiny and slow. The mattress was a bit too firm for my taste. If you want a flashy contemporary hotel, look elsewhere, but you probably won't find a prettier pool.

Staff was great! Nice breakfast. Walking distance to Corso Umberto. Pool was nice and clean. We were on the 2nd floor which had a large balcony with an incredible view.

Bed was a little hard but ok. Shower was tiny. Hotel still using an actual Key which looks cool very antique but heavy to carry. You need to leave it at receptions desk when you go out.

The views of the bay and Etna are fabulous from the balcony. The pool is clean and refreshing also with amazing views.

The property is rated as a 4 star. This is certainly not a 4 star hotel. I would estimate that it is a tired 2 star at the most. The hotel was apparently built in 1960 and appears not to have been touched since. The lift is very small and slow. If you are claustrophobic in any way it’s better avoided. Most of the staff were nice and helpful but the older man who organises the breakfast area is rude and not welcoming at all. There are much better hotels which represent better value for money in the area. We would definitely not return to this hotel.

Views from balcony and breakfast room spectacular. Staff always smiling and helpful. Breakfast was same every day but plenty of choices from cereals, pastries and hot offerings.

It would be a benefit if they provided coffee making facility in the room like most hotels either a kettle or coffee machine so you could make a drink when having a nightcap on your balcony and the hotel bar is shut at 11pm.

Our stay at Hotel Mediterraneo exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcome with their warm hospitality and exceptional service. The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the heart of Taormina while still offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was beautifully presented, immaculately clean, and had breathtaking views that made every morning feel special. The breakfast was delicious, with a fantastic selection of fresh local produce, and every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. Their recommendations for restaurants and local attractions made our visit even more memorable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would recommend Hotel Mediterraneo to anyone visiting Taormina. We can’t wait to return!

Amazing location a very short 10 minute walk to the Main Street. Although up the top of a short, steep hill, this was absolutely fine for us to walk off our dinner each night! Loved the pool area, this was gorgeous, very chill and always beds available (this was end of June). All of the staff were lovely. Continental breakfast was delicious with a variety of hot food and baked pastries available. Rooms were spotless. You can also use their sister hotel down at the beach and book to be dropped off and picked up and use their private beach area and loungers. This was great, we took advantage of this a couple of times and found this wee private beach much quieter and nicer than Isola Bella which was overcrowded on the day we went. The resort of Taormina was stunning with lots off gorgeous restaurants and the ancient Greek theatre. We will definitely be back loved it all.

Location was both good and challenging. Good because it was at the front of Taormina just a 5-7 minute hike downhill to the Main Street where all the shops are. It’s not central so you still have to walk quite a bit to get to the funicular or amphitheater which is on the opposite end. The view from the hotel was great. There was also a nice pool on the rooftop.

Location was good but challenging because you still have to climb a lot of stairs and hike up. What I did not like were the bathrooms. The shower is TINY. Like a prison shower. Unfortunately the rooms are just smaller so that’s all the space there is available but if you are claustrophobic of tiny showers this will be very uncomfortable. Apparently the walls are paper thin because we had to make an international emergency call at midnight and the people next door were banging on our wall and the receptionist came up and treated us like we were doing something bad in our room. The TV only has Italian channels and the air conditioning is controlled by the hotel. For some reason around noon each day they would shut off the AC for several hours and the room was burning hot. There is a free breakfast option but the food sucked and the only thing worth eating was the cereal. Considering they are charging a lot of money for the room this is a very big disappointment.

The location is great, staff are very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean. The jewel in the crown for this hotel is the swimming pool and the view which is amazing. Parking was really useful too, but it is now €20 a day.

It is very dated. It has hardly changed since it was built in 1960 and whilst there is a charm about stepping back in time, I think it was more about cost, than about preserving it in its original state. The bathroom was tiny and hadn’t been updated at all, the shower cubicle was so small if you dropped something there was barely room to pick it up. On our last morning the drains smelled strongly of sewage and the whole room stank but running the shower and taps helped. We made friends with another couple and they left a day early because of the smell in their room. The mattresses and pillows were rock hard and I found them uncomfortable. One very small lift to service the entire hotel which worked fine but was very old and rickety. Breakfast was Ok but the coffee wasn’t good, it tasted like it had come from a cafeteria machine - Italians are famous for their coffee, it was a let down not to have good coffee. I looked up what makes a hotel 4 star and on paper it ticks the boxes but sadly it is not luxurious and is more 2-3. Even the sign at the front is rusty and barely readable. But oddly I have a lot of love for this grand hotel, I hope it has some serious money spent on it and significant updates in keys areas as it would be a loss for it to go.

המלון עצמו קצת ישן, אבל מדובר בעיר עתיקה.
